  1. LOL, OOPS!That was funny!
Chilly and partly cloudy here, with temps in the low 40s. Back to reality! I really enjoyed the last two warm weeks.
I went out to the patio this morning,to start my stretches and realized there had been a heavy frost. The deck was slippery. I did my stretches in slo-mo lol!
I am watching "The Haunting" on PBS. It is in black & white, so it should be "Mary friendly" lol!

Hi.....well Mary that’s rude to forget to tell you they changed places. Long drive to not find anyone. Grrr. I’ll bet that lady felt bad forgetting you..she owes you a lunch! Did you get our cold weather? It’s been nice this week and sunny. Mary, sorry your having pain. We are all just a mess! Mary, I’m glad you weren’t on a ladder. You are the handy woman around there!

JL, I’m so sorry you’re feeling bad. Have you ever gone to the dr recently about it? Maybe at least you could get pain pills to help during the night. Do the pains go down your leg too? It’s hard to get any energy when you aren’t feeling great. My energy is low to do things I think I’m just lazy though. Do those patches help? Boy, how scary for your daughter and her friend. I hate driving in the snow especially since I’m older. My breathing is the same so the oxygen isn’t doing much. I’ll just wait until I see dr in December. It sure sounds like a hard way to get in your house the back way. Too much climbing.

I got your card today, Barb. It took a full week to get here. That seems really long from your house to mine! Did you and JL enjoy your show last night? I was watching the country music awards show. I love those two shoes each year. Pretty weird without much of an audience. I think we are going to start ordering our groceries again with covid numbers getting worse. We don’t really get too much but Louis’s breakfast things. I went to eye dr today. I guess I have to for sure go in dec for a consultation to get my eyelid lifted...again. It’s affecting my cornea. I’m tired...real tired...of dr things.

Seaside..well, you are beating me with Christmas cards. I’m not even close to starting them. I’m kind of not in the mood this year. This time last year we were vacationing and having so much fun! Who would have thought how things change in a year. Well, I see Gidget gets a lot of exercise on your walks .lol. I’d be nervous with such a little dog getting hurt too. Do you cook a turkey for thanksgiving? We are going to order a meal from a local place. Louis will watch football all day. My daughter texted me tonight that she wants to bring our dinner over on thanksgiving but she’s hosting a few others and I think it’s too much for her and we live a good 30min apart. I will talk to her about it tmrw. It’s very sweet of her.

That’s about it guys. Hope we all feel better tmrw!

  3. Sorry but I spent so much time last night writing, I just copied it over just in case.

  4. Ok Barb and Seaside.....tmrw is the day....the Broncos play the Raiders. I’m not betting anything on it (unless we win)! Seaside, I’ll,bet you won’t be cheering for my team this week. I’ll be watching as I try to start Christmas cards...maybe.

We had very light snow this morning and high of 36. Tmrw is In the high 60’s and then 70’s for a couple of days. Good thing we canceled that Kansas trip to see the Texas tenors as the venue canceled again. It’s just as well with the possible weather issues. Oh well!

Hi to JL and Mary. Not much to say today. Hope everyone is feeling better

  5. Today is the first day of gun/dear hunting season. I have been dreading it because of
Zoie. She is petrified of guns going off all around us!
Well, today it is raining and we have high wind warnings until 10:00 tonight. Our power went out for a short time Many have lost power.
Zoie is happy that hunters are staying home today lol!

Good luck to all teams today! I am not holding much hope for the Lions :(

  7. Seaside....well, it was good for you! This was once again not a good bronco game. Our poor quarterback’s uniform looks green from being on the ground so much! Congratulation to you and Barb on your win. Glad I didn’t bet ..whew

  8. oooooooooh Dianne.....now that was a game wasn't it. I know all to well how it feels to be on the losing side. Man those interceptions were somethin!
Even more important though is how you doin girl??? I hope you start to feel better soon. I felt bad when I saw how long you have to wait to see your doctor again. That's a long wait when you don't feel so good. Please take care of you and I hope Louis is doing better too.

Barb Go RAIDERS huh?! Man that was something. A friend of mine that moved up north a few years ago was always one of us. For some reason (bad sport LOL) he suddenly became a 9ers fan. Today when there was about five minutes left in the game he texts me and says 'Is it to late to become a RAIDERS fan'? I laughed and then told him he couldn't because he was not nice! Then said yeah....it's never to late to come to the dark side 😎 He's a poop head!

Besides watching THE game, I also did a little Christmas shopping online. Always trying to think of some fun but good things to get my Munchkin. Found a couple things, now I need a few more. Does it ever end? Lol
Hope ya all are good and enjoying November and what ever you finally end up doing for Thanksgiving just be safe.
    Love ya all πŸ₯°πŸΆ

  9. Well, our state is shutting down again. Three weeks. Jim will be getting Casino withdrawals again! Bars and restaurants will be outside or carry-out. Most schools will be on-line For the most part they have been on-line for months. I think Matthews area will still be open. He will find out more today.
So far I can get my hair did next week! :)
I have been doing some on-line selling. Getting rid of stuff that we no longer use.
Today I sold a dresser. Still have an antique rocker, floor mirror, and tv wireless headphones in the market. I am not fond of this type of selling because you never know who will show up lol. The couple that picked up the dresser were very nice. They said they just moved here from Cali, after kids graduated and they retired. They have been looking for a place for a few years. They picked a great town close to us, where I do my gross-ery shopping.
People are just now getting their power back from our bad wind storm yesterday. Thank goodness we have a back up!!

  11. Mary Hey those 3 points mean a lot!! Washington let it go and LIONS did good all through the game. Never over til that last second 😊 Our state is shutting down again too. In my county we're really closing down. My Munchkin had a fit because he didn't get to go get his hair cut and now he doesn't know when he will be able to do it. I'm so glad I do my own cutting and do my blond streaks myself. Funny he just now texted me pictures of empty shelves. NO paper anything! Why are people hording again??? It seems ridiculous to me.

Dianne I so hope you're feeling better and drinking lots of WATER!! Lol You can do it girl.

Hope ya all are doing good. It actually rained here yesterday!! YAY! I was so dang happy, enjoyed every second of it.
Thinking of you and sending hugs........πŸ˜˜πŸΆπŸ˜ΌπŸ°πŸΏπŸ¦…πŸ¦†πŸ§‘

  12. Hey folks. I just wrote a post to each of you and it was taking forever to publish, then it disappeared! I will try to recreate it!

Dianne, I’m sorry the oxygen isn’t helping you. Is your breathing problem caused by COPD? My sister-in-law was diagnosed with COPD and she has one of those portable oxygen thingys. She used to walk a lot for exercise, but she can’t walk that much without getting out of breath. I hope the docs can find a way to make it better for you. How is Louis doing? Has he had to he echocardiogram yet? I’m so sorry to hear about Bruce. You all have been in my prayers.

Mary, I can’t imaging why anyone would leave Cali weather for MI winter snow! I am such a wuss in cold weather. Yayyy for your Lions.

Seaside, I have a friend who takes her little dog for walks in a doggy stroller. She has the same worries as you about big birds. The stroller has some kind of cover that allows her dog’s head to be out so he can see out, but keeps his body covered. I didn’t know such a thing existed until she got one.

JL, chad went shopping today for Thanksgiving. I got a $17 rewards check from Raley’s and it paid for the turkey. Last year they had a buy one, get one so he got two and gave one to Marie. This year she’ll have to be happy with some already cooked food.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Barb I went shopping yesterday at my closest Safeway and got my turkey breast. Oddly, it would have cost me less to get a whole turkey. Since I don't like dark meat, there is no point getting the whole turkey since I will be the only one here to eat it. I had already gotten whipped cream for a pumpkin pie but they were all out of frozen pies so I guess I will have to look elsewhere or wait until it's closer to Thanksgiving and get one from the bakery. It's been a long time since I baked one from scratch. Again, I am not into going to all the trouble anymore, especially when it will be just for me. Out of curiosity, I checked the bathroom tissue aisle and, sure enough, the shelves were empty! People are panicking again because of the spike in COVID cases.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Mary I'm so glad you got your generator before winter hit. That was money well spent.

Oh, I would definitely not like living near a hunting area. My poor dog would have had to live her life hiding under the coffee table for the whole season. Speaking of my dog....I was on the phone with my financial guy yesterday and told him that my dog died. He asked how old she was and I could not speak because I was starting to cry. I finally told him, with my voice breaking, that I couldn't talk about it and then I proceeded to cry. This made him start crying, too, as he was remembering his beloved dog that had also passed away. What a mess the two of us were! When I was at the grocery store yesterday, I had to go down the pet aisle in order to get a bag of thistle for the birds. Just walking passed the dog foods made me tear up. i really, really miss my Ursula.

  15. Dianne How are you and Louis feeling? It's hard to not feel your best during the holiday season, plus the stress and family separation. Have you decided where you are getting your Thanksgiving dinner? Right now in my county, we can dine indoors at restaurants in a very limited way. I think it's 25% capacity at the moment. It was 50% but things got tightened up due to surging COVID cases. My daughter will be here for two weeks during Christmas, so I've made reservations for us to have Christmas Eve dinner at the fantastic steak house we went to last Christmas Day. Who knows if we will even be allowed to eat indoors by then. If people would just wear their masks and not gather in big groups, we wouldn't be going through all this. People get angry at the governors but it's us that are causing the restrictions. Anyway, let's try to be thankful for what we do have and what we can do. We are all very lucky in a lot of ways.

    ReplyDelete
  16. JustLin, Many of our small local stores are still pretty well stocked. Hard to find items are soup cans, table napkins, paper plates and Kleenex. So far the TP is ok. They do have a one limit per family. We are all set, as I have picked up a spare here & there, when I shopped in Oct.

SacBarb, I think the Cali couple were looking to, not only downsize, but buying cheaper. Believe it or not, many people love the 4 seasons here in Mich. Me, I like spring, summer & fall lol! Winter time is beautiful, but lasts too dam long to suit me!

Seaside. Good thing our salons haven't had to close again...yet. My appt. is today!
I have been doing my own pedi s. Not a good look for me lol! Bending over is a bit tricky with this plump bod!

Dianne. I have been thinking of you. Praying for you & Louis.r.
Jim has copd. He still smokes. He walks the dog, smokes and comes in huffing & puffing! Oh well. He is a big boy! Stubborn!

A beautiful friend of ours passed away yesterday. She had ALS. She was diagnosed about 5 yrs ago.I have been in awe of the way she has handled this horrible disease! Not a "poor me" or "why me?". She handled herself with grace & dignity. I am not sure I would do the same.
Her & her husband raised our ex DIL when her parents passed away. One from cancer, the other by a car accident. Just so sad :(
Well, I am off to get my hair did........

  17. Seaside Congrats on your team's win. There is nothing for me to brag about with the 49ers. We started out great last Sunday but it didn't end well. We have so many injured players, it just isn't going to be our year.

You are right to worry about your little dog. Around here we have the occasional coyote sighting or even mountain lion. Many a cat has been lost because of this.

Mostly my Christmas shopping will involve purchasing gift cards. There may be a few little wrapped presents just so there will be something to open. Last night when I went to close the living room drapes, I saw that my neighbors across the street have a Christmas tree all lit up in their house. Yikes! I'm not ready for this. The Christmas cards I purchased long ago, are still sitting on the sideboard not addressed. I plan to keep my fall decorations up until after Thanksgiving, for sure. I can only deal with one holiday at a time.

  18. I forgot to report that my sciatica flare up appears to be over. I've been able to sleep normally for 3 nights now. I think it's safe to put away my heating pad.

I went to a different Safeway today and was able to get a Marie Calendar frozen pumpkin pie. Both stores were out of unsalted peanuts in the shell which I get for the squirrels, jays, crows, and occasional raven. I'm not completely out so I guess I will go searching for more on Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  19. JustLin. I am so glad your sciatica pain has let up! I had a very bad episode the other day. It went all the way down my leg. I have never had that happen before! I was afraid it might have been a blood clot, being it was on the back of my calf, so I put on my compression socks. Before bed I dug out my weird, cane/shepherds hook thingy. It has nobs on each of the 4 ends. Almost looks like Prince's symbol lol. Any way, placed one of the nobs on the middle my arse and rotated the nob by holding the other end. After 20 minutes I was good as new! It is also good on my neck and shoulders. Everyone should have one of these weird things lol!
I prolly should quit dragging heavy ladders around lol!

  20. Hi... been awhile ..I didn’t realize time was passing. Seaside...that was a terrible game. I don’t know if we will even play our quarterback this week. He’s very young and just learning but it’s frustrating! It would help to have an offensive line too. I wish I had my cards done. I was going to start last Sunday but didn’t. I have a hard time getting going when I’m not leaving the house. I’ve been doing most all shopping online too...actually all of it. I’m feeling a lot better and Louis seems to be too.

Barb..Louis’s. Echo is in dec same with his sleep study. Our dr wants him to see a neurologist. He couldn’t get in until Jan 18. Good deal getting your turkey free. You’ll have lots of leftovers. We ordered our thanksgiving dinners from a nice place. It’s $30 a piece but includes everything. I was able to reserve them too. Louis will pick them up at noon. It will just be barb, Louis and I. It makes me sad to know the kids are so close but it’s for the best. Barb is coming over tmrw to help get things up the stairs for decorating. Louis isn’t thrilled with thinking he needs help but he does. We got a new birch tree at Costco. It doesn’t look like a Christmas tree but it’s all lit up and we will put a skirt on it and gifts. We like it as we’re trying to scale down.

Mary..I go for hair tmrw. Our place is one step from full closures. I went a week early yesterday for nails just in case. No eating inside as of 5 pm tonight. The restaurants can serve outside and do take out. The weather isn’t really a great time for eating out. They are putting up tents and heaters. I think by next Friday we will be completely shut down. I probably will go for a pedicure this week too. It was a year ago ..we were just arriving in Branson. Who would have ever thought what was to come. Boy, keep an eye on those legs. That’s scary on the back of your leg.

JL, that’s so nice that your daughter will be there for two weeks at Christmas. How fun for you both. I’m so sorry you’re feeling sad about Ursula. That must have been an interesting conversation with your financial person. Sad. Glad you found a pie. My favorite is the dressing and the pie. Tammy wanted to bring us dinner but it’s too much and too far for her that day. Nice gesture though. The kids want enchiladas but she’s fixing a turkey. I went to my primary for a hospital follow up the other day. I wore my oxygen since I was seeing her. When she checked it the tank was out..embarrassing. They checked me at rest and walking and it was over 90 both times but I’m still breathless. I don’t have COPD ..I’m a mystery. She said I don’t need it at rest but use it when I walk. Well, I don’t as I keep checking it and it’s ok. We shall see on dec 3 when I go to lung dr. He will probably tell me to exercise and lose weight. It’s just very frustrating to me. Glad your pain is so much better. That helps for sure getting some sleep. I’ve been taking Tylenol for arthritis. Helps briefly. .

My brother can no longer hold a phone. I talked to him two days ago and I was very sad. Very! He has no pneumonia but has covid. He’s turning down food, oxygen and is on morphine. We know his wishes but it’s sure hard on the family.

I’m listening to Christmas music today and tonight. I love it. I had my whole list for everyone made out in my notes. I have every year there back to 2015. Well, this am I went on and it’s gone! I felt sick as I can’t remember what get and where I put it..all in my notes. I’m having to try and remember..ha ha.

  21. Sorry it’s a novel ..that’s what I get for waiting so long.

  22. Dianne, so good hearing from you! I can't believe your brother has lost so much ground! I honestly didn't know how bad he was! He was fun chatting with him on FB. That has been a long time ago. What started his medical breakdown? I feel so bad. Prayers for him and the family. As I say in my prayers.."Thy will, be done". :(

It is a beautiful cool, sunny day today. I just came in from trimming the last of my bushes, raked and cleaned up after myself, cleaned out the outside dryer vent, & fed the birds. Jim, & Zoie have been fed too lol!
I think I will walk Zoie.........

  23. Happy almost Thanksgiving ya all!! πŸ’›

Dianne To heck with semi-finals! They had better induct my Manning into the Hall of Fame. I got so excited when I heard and even though this is the first year he qualifies, there's no one else I'd rather see get it----and deserve to be inducted. I am still excited about Woodson and hope he makes it too, always loved him, great player. It's a loooong ways off though so I better get a grip LOL! Hope you are doing better with your oxygen levels. Did you get your hair did 😏 I know you were looking forward to getting it done. Sorry Louis has to wait until January for the doctor and hope he's doing well.

Barb I could oooooh so do without California's 'wonderful' weather. Cooler weather is way to short for me. But all in all I think we're lucky here as far as disasters of any kind go. Pretty easy place to live. My RAIDERS blew it! They should have had that dang game but blew it in the end. Never like losing but to the Chiefs?! That hurt.

JL I'm with you JL.....bring on the white meat! I do love cooking a whole turkey though and will miss not doing that. My Munchkin isn't really excited about it so I caved and I'm cooking a ham this year. He is so so excited. The little poop Lol I bet you're looking forward to Christmas and being with your daughter. That's the best part of the holidays isn't it.

Mary I would so love your cold weather. I know you get tired of it, probably get tired of moving snow around right. But I could do those temps you get for 3-4 months. It's just way hot here for me and it lasts way to long. It does snow here in California but just way up north and to far from me. Gidget and I never get to bounce around like Zoie does πŸ˜„ I would so love to see them together. Hugs and smooches for that baby!

I guess I'm going out just for a short run tomorrow to get a couple things for Thanksgiving. Important stuff ya know.....like fresh bread to make all those ham sandwiches for the next two weeks.
Please take care and have a wonderful-happy Thanksgiving no matter what you do 😎🐢🧑

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hello...it snowed here about 3” today and was around 33degrees. The sun came out and melted a lot and the roads were fine. We went to Sheila (my sil) house this afternoon and ordered Chinese lunch. Little Lydia was there so enjoyed her ..twice this week. As I mentioned, Bruce is better today and not feeling like “dog sxxt” anymore. I’m glad he’s at least not so miserable.

We pick up our thanksgiving dinner at noon on Thursday. I’m looking forward to it. I love the stuffing and pie!

Seaside, I’m glad Peyton got nominated too. We loved him here and he’s stayed in colorado with his family. So...did you see Broncos won Sunday? It was even a decent game. Louis. And I were for the (gulp)Raiders on Sunday But that chiefs quarterback is hard to beat. I hope to get to my cards on Friday. I’m never this late. Got my hair done and going for pedicure tmrw. I’m real nervous about those places getting shut down. All our restaurants inside are now.shut down again. We need to get new bread too..Tammy passing on turkey for us. Driveway delivery Friday.

mary, Bruce has not been well for awhile. He’s been extra going downhill for the last year plus in the nursing home for four years...not being able to move.

JL and Barb, you getting all ready for Thursday? JL, are you doing a breast or more? I guess a full, turkey would last some time for you. There’s only so much you can do with leftovers.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Dianne, I was glad to read some good news about your brother. I am sure your Thanksgiving day will be a bit less stressful. I wonder if he is aware of the time of year it is or even what year. He sure has been through a lot, as well as all the family.

I just put two pies in the oven, cherry and pumpkin. I will be preparing the turkey for tomorrow. It is much smaller than we usually get. I even made smaller pies. I have to admit, I don't miss having to do all the "deep cleaning" for company lol!
I had some dental work done Tues. I knew I had to have 4 procedures, 2 fillings and replacing one crown, and repairing another. I have two dates set for them. I thought the small fillings would be this week, so I was not prepared mentally or otherwise for the almost 2 hr job fixing the crowns! I have a temp. crown in and go back on Dec 4 to do the fillings and put in my new crown! That's what happens when you have to delay Dental work due to "Rona!".
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and week end.
    Love you all!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mary I always hated dental stuff. I feel bad for you having to get so much work done. I totally understand about needing to be mentally prepared.

I will be putting a pumpkin pie into the oven later this evening. I also really like cherry pies but I couldn't handle eating two pies all by my lonesome. I just got a frozen pumpkin pie because I don't feel like it's worth the trouble to make one from scratch just for me. I used to in the "old days", though. Now, I'm into making everything as easy as possible. Yes, I'm basically lazy.

I think you should take your own advise and not drag around heavy ladders (or get on them). If you insist on doing so, only do it when someone else is also home just in case of an accident. Poor Zoie would not be able to help you up, especially if something was broken.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Barb So does bad luck come in threes? Last Week was the failed water heater and today was the stolen catalytic converter. I'm really hoping nothing else bad happens. Maybe the ants I'm fighting in the kitchen counts as one. It's certainly pestilence. I really don't want or need anything that will coast me more money, especially since real estate taxes are now due. Fortunately, my insurance will cover all but the $500 deductible which is a lot better than the $2,700 price tag. I'm going to have a shield installed over it which will cost me another $295. On the bright side, I am not using my $50/day allowance for a rental car while my car is out of commission so I will get that money in cash. The very earliest the parts would be in and the work done would be end of day Monday so that rental car allowance will cover the cost of the shield. At least that's a break.

My Thanksgiving will be quiet and that's okay with me. I think I'm kind of a loner at heart. My friend gave me some of her delicious creamed broccoli to have with my dinner so I'm happy as a clam.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dianne I'm just cooking a turkey breast for my dinner. I will be having all the trimmings, though.

So, I was leaving to meet my friend for lunch when I discovered someone had stolen the catalytic converter off of my Prius. I knew what had happened as soon as I turned the car on. It was the most God awful loud rumbling noise. I didn't know if it was safe to drive (plus, it would have been embarrassing) so I had it towed to a nearby repair shop I am familiar with. Once that was taken care of, my friend picked me up and we went and had our lunch as scheduled. This was the first time I have been in the car with anyone since the pandemic started. We were both wearing masks but it still felt rather uncomfortable to me as it is really close quarters in a car. Our town is doing really well as far as COVID cases go but still cases are surging here just like they are everywhere. It's no time to get lax about precautions.

I hope you enjoy your dinner tomorrow even if you can't be with the rest of the family. It is definitely better to be safe. I'm glad your brother has perked up a bit. At least you can have some of that worry off of your mind for a while.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Seaside I hope you enjoy your ham dinner tomorrow. I've ordered a ham to have at Christmas. I definitely need to have a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, though, because....GRAVY! LOL

Once thing I'm thankful for is that I got all my shopping done before the thieves came and messed with my car overnight. I am really set for probably a week or so. That includes having enough unsalted peanuts for the squirrels, jays, crows, and raven. The big raven grabs 3 peanuts at a time in his/her big bill. I'm such a sucker for animals!

Will you be watching football tomorrow or are you only into the big leagues? Whatever you do, enjoy your day and your time with your Munchkin and Gidget.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
