Hi. I’ve been away for awhile since I lost my last post. Well, I’m doing well Louis still is just plugging along. He’s not great he had Botox put into his calves last week that will helpfully stop his leg movement. We should know in a week. His stimulater he had put in a few weeks ago is sometimes works but it’s still being adjusted. We went to Todd’s new hose a couple of weeks ago for a going away gathering as my youngest grandson is off to college in Tennessee. His house is far and gps had us all mixed up. It was worse going home in the dark. At one point he was driving 36 on the hwy I tried to get him to let me drive although I can’t see in the dark. I was on the edge of my seat. And the week before I went to big wedding and louis didn’t fee like going. Great wedding but dark and pouring rain on way home. Boy if I drank much both times deserved a shot of tequila when I got home. Tammy, barb and I went to a concert Friday night. Saw Cody Johnson and Tracy Byrd ..outside venue and perfect night. Great concert and fun. I love concerts. Last sat night was my 60th class reunion again, Louis wasn’t feeling great so Kayla came with me and I was so glad. I’m very shy like school but when I get there I’m ok. It was so fun and Kayla helped with that for me. I told her to dress like a funeral and she looked so cute. She was helpful to so many people and everyone over her. It was my best reunion yet. We had 208 in my class. At least 40; have died. There was about 60:there. It went from 4-9/ $20 each for heavy snacks. We left about 8:15 K thought we’d be be there for an hour..nope 3-1/2 hours. I think she had a good time too. She said she got a little misty eyed there.
So barb I have down your surgery is tmrw, right? I hope it goes well and recovery is good too. Remind me exactly what is wrong with your shoulder. How’s your sister doing?
JL..how are those eyes feeling? Should be good by now, I hope. What’s new with you? Mary, when do you go on your trip? I’ll bet you’re getting excited how’s Jim doing? Well, let’s see if I can copy this post

I see it works. Still looks weird lol!
Dianne, I leave for NM on Sept 6. His B-party is the 7th and I go home the next day. I don't dare leave Jim & Zoie for too long. Matthew promised to take care of them for me. He will be back to driving school bus, but I will be away mostly on the weekend, so all should be good until I get back.
I will write more later. Have to put beef tips in crock pot for noodles later. I made tortillas for burritos on Tues. and now running to the store for a few ingred. I am making a zucchini cinnamon bread loaf before my Zuke goes bad lol!

So the blog looks weird. I see I'm not the only one who thinks so. I thought I had done something strange with my computer for something. Glad that I didn't.

DIANNE, my eyes are good now and I am glad to be done with all the eye drops. A major problem I was having since the surgery is that I was still trying to see through my old glasses and it was really throwing me off and making me feel ill. In fact, a week after the surgery, I got my nails done and I felt really woozy and like I might pass out. It was rather alarming for the manicure people. The feeling passed after a minute or so. Anyway, when I told the young woman who was helping me pick out new frames for my new glasses last Thursday about how it's really straining my eyes to try and see anything through my old glasses, she suggested a cheap pair of readers until my new glasses come in. What a game changer! I wish I would have thought of that a month ago. The bad part is that after I bought some readers at the drug store, I pulled out of the parking space and a guy drove up the adjacent aisle and ran into the back fo my car. The impact put a crack in the bumper right below the left rear tail ight. This caused that whole panel the extends to above the left rear wheel to pop out away from the car. The guy who hit me was able to get the panel popped back on except for the very end over the wheel where the panel kind of tapers to a point. At that spot, it won't click back on because the impact broke the little bracket that it should click back on to. So that spot doesn't sit quite flush. Oh, well. The car is 19 years old and has certainly seen better days. I did file a claim.

I'm glad Kayla went with you to your reunion and that you had a good time. I'm sorry that Louis is still having issues. I hope things improve for him soon.

MARY, you are always cooking up something yummy. I wish I lived at your house. LOL I am lucky to have really nice neighbors who brought me dinner two times after my eye surgery. Also, the little kids brought me breakfast the other day, a chile relleno breakfast casserole. It was delicious and they were so proud as they had helped make it.

I hope you have a good time in NM. I'm sure Matthew will make sure everything is okay with Jim and Zoie. My daughter is coming down in late September for a few days to attend her friend's daughter's wedding and I am going to fly home with her and spend a week with her in Oregon. Later, in November she and her boyfriend are going on an Australia/New Zealand cruise and she is going to bring her two dogs down to me to pet sit while she's gone, This will probably kill me. LOL The little bossy dog, Raya, will be easy enough but the other newer one, Clio, is younger and wants to fetch ALL THE TIME!.

BARB, all of a sudden your surgery date is right around the corner. Do you think you'll be watching Bachelorette tomorrow night?

Two things I immediately saw better surgery were my wrinkles and my floaters. LOL I normally wear glasses all the time because I get really annoyed with the on-and-off of glasses to see near or far. I hardly needed them for far (not required for driving) but definitely need them for close things. I really see distance crystal clear now, like it is fine tuned. Also, I noticed that the color of light is different than what I was used to.

I hope everything goes exceptionally well on the 20th with your surgery and your new 3D printed shoulder.

Justlin, I have had trifocals for years. I needed them for some of the jobs I had at GM. I had to read charts in front of the cars, build my own stock & do various jobs on each car. About 48 cars per hr back then. I hear it is more now with the "buddy" system. Glad I am out of there! No more pension. it was great money, but boy did you earn it! How sweet of the neighbors to help you! Send them my way! I need a break lol!!

Hi boy we r slow posting. Whats new everyone? Report in with an update please. Not too much here. I went to dentist yesterday as I lost my front bottom tooth last Friday. I ended up being there for seven hours for $2775 I got a temp bridge in front but won’t last long. I need a bottom set of teeth for $35,000. I don’t know how we r going to pay it. I tried today to see if I could get a loan but too much for all companies. I’m pretty bummed about it I can’t walk around without teeth. Plus my mouth hurts some tonight. Last night it really hurt. So I have to get all those bottom teeth pulled at one time! I don’t know what we r going to do about this whole mess.

We r still having high temps in the high 80’s I went to a concert at red rocks the other night with Tammy and the girls. It was so pretty. You needed a coat by about 8 , It was very crowded but we sat high in handicap It as fun but probably won’t be going back. I’m still trying to adjust to having my offivr in the dining room. I will eventually. Well. I’ve been up since 4 am so getting sleepy. Hope to see you all soon.

Hi Everyone. Checking in. I’m doing well. I get rid of this immobilizer next week cause I’m really happy about that. I’ve been having physical therapy at home and that ended last week and I will be going to Kaiser for Physical Therapy soon I hope, they haven’t called me yet with an appointment. In the meantime, I’m still doing the exercises that the home therapist gave me. I don’t have anything else to report really. My sister is doing it about the same. Take care of everybody and I’ll try to write soon.

Hi gals!
Dianne, I am so sorry for all you are going through! Life sometimes sucks! I will keep you in my prayers. I worry about your worrying! Stress can be bad for our system. Doesn't your Ins. cover any of it?
Our temps are finally going down . It finally feels like fall. We have had a long hot summer, but not as bad as Zona!

Barb, I am glad to hear you are rid of the contraption! Keep up the therapy!
Is "Kaiser" like my BCBS?
I was sad to hear of Donnas', Lori's passing. She fought a long hard battle.

JL, are you still adjusting/enjoying your "new" eyes :)

I just got back from taking Zoie to the Chiro. Zoie has been doing better and I almost canceled, but then she had a light episode, so I decided to keep the appt. She adjusted her back a did some neck manipulation. I think it really helped. I could tell when Zoie first growled, then kind of tried to gently
dog-speak ". It was kind of funny. I had her $80 flee & tick collar removed just to be sure what ever was in it might be cause problems. Vet said she had one dog that had seizures with it. I also replaced her feeding bowl to a regular one from the "slower eating" one that might have been messing with her neck trying to grab her food. Oye vey!
She is now sleeping peacefully.

Been missing you all!

Hello, Ladies!

Dianne, it gives me shivers just to think about the dental stuff. Cost is one of the reasons I ended up with dentures, but not the only one. I was mostly just fed up with going through painful procedures. $35,000 seems exorbitant but I haven't needed dental care in many years. How are people supposed to be able to afford that? It's ridiculous. Check with your dentist to see if they have Care Credit. It's a payment plan that doesn't charge interest as long as you make the payments on time. A lot of doctors, veterinarians, and dentists participate in it and have application forms for it available.

Mary, I'm not really enjoying my new eyes, so far. I'm having trouble adjusting to the new glasses. The frames are a little larger than my old ones which means I have more distortion around the edges than I am used to. Also, it had been 13 years since I had a new Rx and the amount of magnification of the reading (lower) part of the glasses is very noticeable to me. I feel like the floor is raised up by about a foot. Either that, or I lost a foot in height. The other day I stepped off a curb and expected the ground to be closer to me than it really was so it was jarring when my foot went down farther than expected. Sometimes I think it would have been easier to just use cheap readers . I guess I could always still do that if I don't adjust to these. I'm sorry about poor Zoie. I hope she does better now. The little dachshund I pet sat for was put down last Monday. That made me sad but Mikey had lived a good long life. He was 17.

Barb, What a relief it will be for you to finally have the immobilization ending. Free at last! I kept thinking my daughter was flying down today but it's actually not until tomorrow. She will attend a wedding on Saturday and then I will fly back up to Oregon with her on Sunday. She's been working now at Oregon State University so I will be on my own with her dogs during the week. This job she has only pays her half what she is used to but at least the income slows down how much she is draining her savings. She got the job because of a woman she met at a wine tasting event. She's been out of work since right before Christmas. It's very stressful. Meantime, she's had 3 interviews with the State of Oregon so hoping that will come through as the pay is a lot better.

I hope we all have good days going forward.

No, Mary u didn’t miss a post from me. Mine is on there. JL, I have the care credit but it only goes up to $8000 so that doesn’t help much. I see if a $35,000 loan was approved the monthly payment is outrageous. I simply have no idea what to do. It’s extremely stressful.

Mary, hope Zoie will be ok. I’m sure glad u had a fun trip a few weeks ago. It was 90;here today. A little snow in mtns. I hope it stays there. I don’t know how zona can stand the heat. It’s unusual for us to have such warm weather at the end of Sept

Barb, glad you’re getting better. It’s been a slow process. Louis is watching football as usual tonight. I’m recording the country music awards to watch later. Talk to u all soon.

Dianne, I have been worried about you! Please check in!
All is good here. Zoie is doing much better for her age. I fear the day I have to say goodbye to her :(
Jim had some blood work done his "Glomerular" stats are low @ 52. BUN & RDW are low. I always head to "GOOGLE" for LOL! Seems he is in early stage of kidney disease. No real surprise there. Too may beers are not helping and he likes salty & sweet foods/snacks.
Check gals.

Hi I’m here. Louis fell yesterday outside and got really scraped up. I had dispatch health come here this am to check him over and rewrap his wounds. He hurt his shoulder really bad and is pain. X-rays tmrw it’s the shoulder he had surgery one so hope nothing was jarred there. I was supposed to go to a celebration of life for a good friend but felt I needed to be here. Felt very sad to miss it. He was trying to put the seat walker in my car and that’s when he fell. I’m feeling very frustrated I stayed home all day today.
Barb, how r u feeling? I hope better. R u getting around more? I hope so.

JL, how r u doing with your eyes? You should be about done with the drops, right? Remind me when I r going to your daughters or r u there now?

Mary, you r so busy. I wished I could have some of your cooking. I’m going in for a hammer toe surgery on the 18th. Not too excited about that but less excited about having to have all my bottom teeth and get new ones for $35,000. I,I’m struggling to know how we will accomplish this amount. Broncos play raiders tmrw. Big game and we really need to win. My friend exchanged her seats for handicap and is taking me to the game on the 13th. Very excited it’s been a long time since I’ve gone. Hoping that this nice weather continues.

I don’t have much more to talk a ot and it’s passed bed time so I’m signing off. Night ❤️

Hi well, it’s been awhile. So much medical going on here. I wrote in text about my foot surgery. Get the stitches out Friday and hopefully get rid of the shoe too. Louis is doing so so. He has to pee every ten min and it’s frustrating for him. He starts a pee regime but not until nov. he’s on a new pill that’s not helping. I’ll be call urologist tmrw. It’s really awful for him. My friend flew in for a few days to do some things she needed to do and stayed with us and helped me on Friday. Anyway, that’s r medical update and I told u I messed up the tv. It was nice having my friend here. She just got divorced after 54 years so had to come get her things. They have two places for summer and winter or did I should say. Broncos won thurs night. I don’t know if I told u I got to go to a bronco game last Sunday. It was so fun. I have season tickets but sell them to the same lady for 14 years. My dear friend Pat exchanged her two for handicap seats. We were in the first section on the 50 yard line. Weather perfect. We lost but it was just fun to be there. We took my travel chair. So sweet of her.
What r u all up to? JL. Did u ever go to your daughters? I feel so out of touch and I’m sorry. What have u been doing?
Barb, how’s that shoulder? I hope better. R u done with all the paper work on your sisters things? Do u still drive when your shoulder is ok? I’m going to try this week as Dr told me I have a driving shoe and I can drive. I’m not rushing it.
Mary, how’s the weather there? We’ve had a nice fall for once. Snow in the mountains and barely a drizzle of rain here. I can for sure do without the snow forever. How’s Zoie doing and Jim too? Did your team win today? It’s sure hard without v working. Tammy and James r coming over to help us…thank goodness . Oh, Louis just told me u won…yea. Fun to win. We played horrible last week at the game I went to. Much better Thursday night.
Now JL, u need to beat Kc this afternoon… that would be great. Well, not much more. Kids r doing well . My youngest grandson is loving college in Tennessee. He’s already looking for an apartment for next year.. middle one is a jr at csu in ft Collins. Oldest one……trying to find himself! He struggles. How r all your family’s.? Looking forward to hearing from all of you. ❤️

I had to delete lol, I wrote two words and it published! Zoie has not felt good today. Hardly ate and through up what she did eat. I have been trying to transition her to the new prescription food our vet ordered. She has not liked it. I tried for 10 day and putting her back on her regular food. It was way too expensive anyway. I have a big bag almost full! Not sure shelters take open bags. Some don't. I threw away what she did not eat in her bowl, and put in her reg food. She ate it all and is now sleeping.
L called me yesterday and said R had checked on her ancestor fam. tree and wondered why this certain family branch was in there. Seems she has a different father! L admitted to have been with him during a bad time in her marriage. He was the drummer in her husbands rock band. She sent me his picture. Wow! R def. looks like him! Sad to say he died of brain cancer a few years back. His family has been notified and are ecstatic to know a piece of their son/brother is still here with them. They want so bad to connect with R, but she is not ready for that. This is right out of a soap opera or crazy movie! R thinks her mom has known all along and kept it from her. L was just as shocked as she was! She was going to tell her Father (not bio) about it this week end. He is so unstable mentally that I am afraid what will happen! He has many mental issues. Has for most of his adult life. Never treated L good. Oye vey! I am still trying to process this! R has told her Mom many times "please tell me he is not my father(cuz he was nuts). My Matt begs the same thing to me lol! Keeps wishing he came from the mailman! You just never know!
I am not proof reading this lol!

Dianne, you have sure had a lot of medical stuff lately. I don't think I know why you needed foot surgery. I hope it's healing well. Poor Louis has sure had a rough time of it, too. I hope the doctors get him squared away soon. It must be very frustrating for both of you. I'm glad you got out for a day of fun at your football game. My 49ers lost yesterday and we ended up with another major payer getting injured; torn ACL. We already had other really good players out with injuries. Things aren't going our way, that's for sure. I had nice visit to my daughter's in Eugene except that I came down with COVID. I think I should have worn a mask at the airport and on the airplane. I certainly did on the way home because I still had symptoms even though I would not have still been contagious. My daughter is working at a new job so I was alone during the day with the dogs. Being sick, I ended up sleeping a lot. I couldn't believe how exhausted I felt. Coming home was nightmare. The plane landed at the international terminal for some reason and I guess I missed hearing the pilot give any notification about that as I gathered my stuff to deplane. Long story short, I got soooo lost at the airport. Nothing looked familiar. I had to walk and walk so far while being sick and wearing a mask when I was already short of breath from the sickness. At one point, an employee saw me hesitating several times at getting on a down escalator and came over and helped me. I don't know where they came from as it was late and the area I was in was empty of people. Anyway, I was very thankful for her and that's when I found out I was actually in the wrong terminal and I needed to walk another 8 minutes or so to get the right terminal where my bags were. I was so tired, so lost, so sick, that I just wanted to cry. I will definitely pay close attention to what a pilot is saying in the future.

Mary, it sounds like you have some major ancestry drama going on in your family. This will definitely be tricky to negotiate around L's husband. Yikes! Some things are better left alone, I guess. In time, R may want to meet with the other family. It sounds like they view her as a blessing. I'm sorry about Jim's kidney values. I pretty much have the same issues. I'm not avoiding the suspect foods as much as I should, either. I'm glad Zoie is eating again. What condition was the prescription food for? You may want to Google how to make a dog kidney diet, heart diet, whatever, yourself. She may take to that better.

Barb, I hope you are doing well with your repaired shoulder. At least you now have two hands to pull your pants up with. LOL Now that you've been through this once, you know what to expect when you get the other side done. That should be helpful. How's it going with your sister? I'm starting to feel more like myself since getting COVID. The tiredness has lingered and easily getting short of breath and congestion. Probably because I have COPD. I need to get my kidney values rechecked sometime this week. I'm not looking forward to the results. I have not been drinking water the way I should.

I had a hammer toe surgery I go tmrw and I think the stitches come out. It really hasn’t been as bad as I thought. JL, that’s terrible u got Covid. When u got off the plane I should have asked for a wheelchair. I’m sure you were winded for that long of a walk. I’m glad your daughter got a job. It’s tough out there. Tammy is liking her new job too. Sorry about your 49ers. I always cheer for them. We’ve been winning lately. We have pretty much whole new team. We lost at the game I went to but it was still fun. Btw, I’m going to try and Christmas labels made for the trial run. My cleaning lady is coming over for what she calls chore day and she will go downstairs with Louis. I’m trying to get someone to put r Christmas things up.im hoping Kayla and em will.. Kayla is more dependable than em surprisingly.

Mary, wow u have interesting things going on. I wonder why R doesn’t want to meet the family? I think I would…maybe. Have u talked to her? Poor Zoie is really going through it, isn’t she? Poor little doggie. Tammy and group are going to Vegas in December for Kayla’s boyfriend turning 30. We weren’t invited. I’ve got a room for one visitor if anyone wants to come visit. Remember I don’t cook.

Yes, we’ve had a ton of medical this year. Louis can’t leave the house as he’s peeing every ten min. It a pain all the time got him. We had a virtual with urologist yesterday. He had us order a urinalysis that came to the house. I’m finally getting out some. I’ve been here a long time. I feel ok leaving louis now if he just doesn’t fall. Our weather is holding out but maybe get a freeze over the weekend I wish this weather will hold out until April..ha ha I get my teeth on bottom all pulled on Dec 11. Naturally, I’m dreading it. And the cost too. I go next week to get fit for a temp thing .

Well, that’s about it. Night

Barb, I hope you have a wonderful Birthday! Any plans? Are you driving? Has your pt been painful?

Justlin, I sure hope you are feeling better! I need to get my yearly flu shot. I usually go to Rite Aide, but they closed all Rite Aides in Mich. I can either go to the one in our grocery store or drive to the nearest town about 24 miles round trip.
I have been having up & down days. Not sure what is going on. I think I am trying to do too much...duh lol!
The worst is the spasms I have been getting, off & on at night on my leg/thigh area. I jump out of bed and walk it off. I have read up on it and there isn't any clear reason or cure for it. I have upped my vitamins and drinking more water. Also use my heating pad. The cramps/Charley horses/spasms, don't last long, but they sure disrupt my sleep!
Dianne, sure wish I could come for a visit! I would cook all your favorite dishes :) How is the Toe doing?
I went to see the Temptations a few weeks ago at the casino. I sure wish they would have matinees. They didn't start until 9:30 after the first group. They sang a bit then all sat on stools and talked a long time (prolly resting lol) I left at 11 before they started up again. I had an hours drive in the dark which I hate! All in all, I feel they should all just retiree lol!

Dianne, I forgot to answer your question. Today I saw on FB that Rs 2 new "sisters" announced their discovery on the Ancestry web site. There was a picture of them together, so must be she made the decision to connect with them. I have not talked to her about the whole thing yet.

Hi everybody. So sorry I have been MIA again. Been a lot going on here. I’ve had some company, my car broke down which tried to get it fixed. They ordered the part and finally told us the parts on backorder and won’t be in for maybe six months.I have a 2015 Nissan rogue that only has 35,000 miles on it and I hate to give it up but if I can’t get it fixed, it looks like I have no choice. I have to have a car. We were looking at a Honda CRV and a Subaru Forrester after Chad did a lot of research on small SUVs. We went around and looked at cars and drove the Honda and the Subaru and finally the Subaru was going to be a better deal for us. So I now have, as of Sunday, a 2025 Subaru Forester, touring edition and we really like it.
In addition to that, My sister-in-law, Vickey, to have her bladder removed because she has bladder cancer, so that happened yesterday. She’s doing pretty well. Her sister had been staying with her for the last couple of months, but decided to go back home because all of Vicki‘s kids and her granddaughter were coming down to help her and the house isn’t really that big so Mary Ellen decided to go home. So she stopped here on the way from Oregon to Paso Robles and spent the night Sunday night and left Monday morning.
My shoulder is healing very well, and I actually have no pain in that shoulder at all. However, my other shoulder is getting worse because I’m using it so much more since I have limited mobility yet with my left arm. I’m doing exercises though that are giving me more range of motion and mobility.
I was finally able to get my hair colored today and I am so happy. I can’t believe how much gray I have I suppose if I let it go, it would be completely gray. I’m just not ready for that yet. I tried on a gray wig during Covid just to see if perhaps I would, decide to let it go and I really hated the way it looked so I will continue with the coloring for now.
Mary, what a shock about L and R. I guess when our is ready, She will reach out to the new family members.
Dianne, I hope you’re recovering nicely from your foot surgery. I am not really driving much anymore as I told you, and it does make it difficult sometimes I wish I could just get in the car and go somewhere but I just don’t feel comfortable driving. I only drive very short distances like the post office.
JL, I’m glad you got to go visit with your daughter. It’s nice to get away sometimes And especially visit with family.

I haven’t proofread this post so I hope there’s not too many mistakes.

SacBarb, I bought a cheap salt & pepper wig to see if it looked good on me...NOT! Dam! Some gals look beautiful with those colors! I think it is my olive skin. I get my hair colored Nove. 1st. My roots are bright silver and screaming to be covered lol!
