One of the "perks" of hanging out with Kgrl was getting to meet Sunway, a local singer in Hawaii. Jr and I went to see her sing while on vacation and one of her friends, Markus Striegl, got up to sing. This is the same guy that Mary and Jennifer have been drooling over on Kgrl's facebook page~
Markus is from Germany. He has a great sense of humor. He's quick, smart, and has the coolest highlights in his hair~ He gave me a couple of his CD's and I've been listening to them this week. One is in German and the other in English. I really like the German songs....even if I have no idea what he's saying. I'm going to have to have hubby translate for me.
Markus really reminds me of Keith Urban. Kgrl told him this, but I don't think he has any idea what a compliment that is......I LOVE Keith Urban. Jr even commented on his mannerisms when he sings.....just like Keith~

I saw you were all talking about H1N1 yesterday and the next town over had over 100 kids out of school with it last week.
My daughter has been working the flu clinics here, she works in Pediatrics and says it is def. an outbreak in our area.
She had her boys immunized last week as they had two children from their practice end up in Seattles Childrens Hospital with it. They now have Pancriatitis (sp). Scared the crap out of her.
It seems to hit the kids hard and anyone with a compromised immune system. Last I heard there have been over a 1,000 deaths caused by it. So I think we should all take it seriously. She yelled at me last week when I did not feel well and told me to stay home.
Mine was a stomach flu as the regular flu is running rampant too. Today is the first day that it does not feel like my bowels are having one hell of a rave.

Grats on 1st. I'm glad you're feeling better. I think we have had the same thing. I am still feeling weak and tired, but at least I don't have to try and sprint to the bathroom anymore. I do now have a bit of a runny nose and a little cough, but I think it is just the common cold.
As of Friday, there are 3 confirmed cases of H1N1 in our office and quite a few others out and not confirmed. I was supposed to have gotten my seasonal flu shot last Monday, but couldn't because I was already ill. I am going to try this week.

My cousin is having a lunch today for all the Oct birthdays in the family, so I have to try and paint on a face and a fake smile and go over there. I really want to stay under the blankies with a good book, but it ain't gonna happen.

Had a fabulous night at the concert. Daughtry is awesome and I can't believe how many age groups were there. I was especially impressed with the grandparents who took thier tweens to see him.
The sun is shining, so I am going to enjoy it. They said it would be raining and crappy today- so not sure why the sun is shining but not going to complain.

Second....he reminded me of Keith Urban too until I looked at ALL the pictures on his website. The hair is similar....but I wouldn't know about the performance having seen neither of them "do their thang"...
You can tell by his website that this guy is no lounge act....he and his group have an impressive tour schedule in Europe. Its exciting to meet people like that.....maybe when you take Hiawatha to Amsterdam you guys can hook up....it appears that Hamburg is his base of operations......

Regarding the recent pilfering in Island Paradise. I am glad I took the high road at the beginning of the game.....and is it really fair to people like Dianne....who is just beginning....to have her island stripped to the sand and her crops yanked up by the roots?

JL it is sunny and gorgeous here today, I have the sliding door open. Poe loves it (the sliding door is right next to his cage), he can see and talk to his "birdy friends".
Yesterday was about 80 here I think, hard to believe it's the end of Oct. We've had the sprinklers shut off for 2 weeks, we need a little more rain so we can leave them off!

JL we have a trio of quail that roam the neighborhood. Once in a while they come into our yard and poke around.

We had mum's 70th birthday party today. It went quite well. I think she enjoyed herself. My avatar picture is one taken today of me and my sisters. I really like it. Each of us had our picture taken with mum. I think it's the only picture of her and I there is, so it will definately be something I will hold onto.

CAROL: Sorry I missed your blog yesterday. When I was taking care of my mom she would tell me the same stories of her childhood over and over again..I never let on..eventhough I knew the story by heart. I would love to hear her tell me just once more about walking a mile to the school bus in four feet of snow..lol. You are an incredibly patient caregiver and loving daughter to your parents..I know how frustrating it can be at times. Hang in there.
As for me, I never remember names..a typical discussion with my sister sounds something like this.."Did you see that movie..it had..oh you know that guy..the one that was in that movie with what's her name..the blonde from that show on Thursdays..remember..the show that used to star that guy that was in that other movie..the one that won the award..you know him..he was married to that girl with dark hair..she was drunk at that awards show..c'mon you know who I mean..." it can go round and round like that..until my sister says..."Just google it!".. ;)
Zona, I find it mildly entertaining that you can know so much trivia about a person, yet not remember their name. I think it happens to all of us.
As for the police, they wanted to know about the dog attack yesterday. A group of people saw it and called some authority. I guess the owner is in a lot of trouble over it.
