A couple of years ago, I tried to turn Jodi's dad into a Catholic. He was cute about it. He said that the Papal robes were too large, too much. I thought he had a great sense of humor. I wrote him a long e-mail trying to convince him to convert. I know I was close, but no cigar~
How do you tell someone like Jodi how much you wish you could be there for her? Jodi......the one who is always there with a song, a call, a smile, a laugh.....whatever you need. We talked after the wake and luckily she sounded good.
She told me about some of her dad's sayings, "Don-isms" which will be part of the eulogy:
"a fartin' horse will never tire, a fartin' man's the man to hire"
When talking about how thin he was:
"well a good rooster never gets fat"
When Jodi would say, "You have a good day, Dad!"
"they're all good"
Jodi, your dad is now with your mom and brother, dancing and laughing. Please know that although most of us cannot be there in person, we are thinking of you and praying for you and your entire family today.
Love you 4~

Gotta finish blowing and spackling. The sun is shining and it's going to warm up today.
I wish you all a peaceful day!!
tina that was beautiful~~
While not all can be there, I will be there as the group representation and hug giver! Mr. Goldie and Jodi's "German Mother" Inge will be there too.
Now if I can just stop my mother and her brother Eric from flirting so much with each other, all will be good. :)
Jodi has wonderful friends on this blog, and you are all dear to her heart.
xxoo
Good Morning Lynn and Jodi.
Tina - What a beautiful picture and tribute. Yes I think Jodi's mom and dad danced and danced when they first saw each other. Now they are probably talking and talking about all the years they had together. I am so happy there is a Heaven.
Good Morning Goldie - Thank you for being our representative. You have been a wonderful friend to Jodi.
LynnD: So Beautiful TODAY!
Tina: You said that so well, the words and sentiment were perfect and expressed how I feel too. Jodi, you are such a blessing to everyone here and you have been so much in my thoughts and prayers! :)
Loved the "Donisms"! :)
Good morning Lynn, Jodi, Tink & Goldie and all who fly in later. :)
Jodi: Glad to hear you are getting sun today! :)
Jodi - As I have said so many times "My thoughts and prayers are with you always". I am glad you liked the basket.
Good Morning Bebbi - I loved the "Donisms" too.
I PVR'd the Royal Wedding last night. I was excited about it but not excited enough or well enough to stay up all night. I am curled up on the chesterfield and I am beginning to watch the 5 hours I taped. Have a great day everyone. I will be back later.
From Area 51: Whabby: LOL on the play date in the gay world..that made me LOL and was so different than what Di meant..he he. Love it!
Di: Yes, the flooding is really bad here but thankfully everyone seems to be safe. My heart goes out to the families and loss in Alabama. :(
TINA: Beautiful tribute to JODI'S dad. Thank you for writing this for all of us.
JODI: I so wish I was able to be there with you (as we all do) but please know you are in my thoughts and prayers for a peaceful day. You are the sunshine in all of our lives and I hope we can be just a little for you today.
GOLDIE: Thank you so much for being our representative. We couldn't have picked a better one. Thanks for all you do for us.
Morning to LYNND....hope you are feeling a little better today and have a good day of sunshine planned.
Hi TINK: All well? I hope so. I recorded the wedding too. I left it on while I was sleeping hoping I would wake up when she was walking down the aisle but no such luck. I stayed awake only for a short moment of it.
BEBBI: That BEAR....always "playing" on words. I so meant my Theater Group...I will be careful in the future lol
Hi errbidy....
Lovely wedding...but you know the people who fill space...the commenter's....are sooo borng. And I think they just make stuff up....I listened to one "expert" on E! and as the Queen passed she described the custom Rolls Royce she was riding in that was a birthday gift from Rolls Royce....
First of all...its a Bentley and it was not a birthday gift...and it cost a million dollars....I remember when it was being made...the Queen and Prince had a lot of input in the fit and finish....like...they wanted fabric interiors so that repair would be simpler when the normal wear and tear occurs...you know...ceremonial sword punctures...tiara tears....lol
Kates dress was nothing fancy...whomever designed it needs to practice on their bustlines...it looked like she had hippo nipples...
and did they not have any veil starch or what? That thing was as limp as Carson Kressleys wrist!
Here is an interesting tidbit though....
Kate Middleton chose to wear the Cartier “halo” tiara, which was made in 1936 and purchased by the Duke of York (later King George VI) for his wife, Elizabeth's mother (also Elizabeth). Queen Elizabeth received it as an 18th-birthday present, at which time she was Princess Elizabeth. The delicate headpiece, which is as understated as a headband of diamonds can be, was lent to Kate by the Queen, though there's a chance she'll come into one of her own soon....
KA-CHING!!!
I glad the press isn't making a big deal out of the queen letting one rip as she got into the carriage for the ride back to the palace...it could have been much worse...
Jodi~ love u love u~
LynnD~ Congrats on prettiest~ Big improvement over the last two days~ :)~
I watched the wedding this morning~ I loved Kate's dress~ Didn't like the veil~ Someone needs to talk to Sarah Ferguson's daughters......BUTT UGLY....can't believe anyone let those gurls out in what they were wearing!!!~ And Victoria Beckham looked awful too~ Elton was cute...hell...no he wasn't....but his partner was~ :)~ I'm pooped....don't know what in the hell woke me up this early....i've only been asleep for 5 hrs~ ugh~
Thanks for all the comments~ U guys are precious~
Good Morning Dianne and Michael.
Michael - I enjoyed your commentary of the wedding. Where do you find all this information or were you born with it?
Miguelito~ I'm glad they didn't talk about the Queen's fart too....but isn't it common for all Queen's to fart/shart like that? hmmmmmmm?
Dianne - I snuggled up on the chesterfield to watch the 5 hours only to find I did not PVR it correctly. Last night the T.V. said 1 - 7:00 but this morning it stopped after 2 hours. I think C.N.N. divided it into sections but it didn't say that on the t.v. Needless to say I am disappointed. I guess I will find it re-run somewhere today. I haven't had time to see anything about the tornadoes last night. I will watch that now.
TINA: What a wonderful blog for a wonderful friend. The picture is beautiful. I just know that JODI's parents are still holding onto each other and that their smiles are lighting up Heaven.
JODI you know that I trip over my words and have trouble saying what I mean sometimes..but kiddo I love you like a sister..and wish I could be there with you today. Sending you and your family prayers and love from the end of the world...♥♥
Zona~ I trip over my words too.....takes me forever to write something w/o help.....WHY IS UR PHONE STILL BUSY???!!!!!!~ UGH!!!!~
Michael - Our Queen does not "fluff". She doesn't even go to the bathroom. After all she is a Queen. I remember when she married Prince Philip. It wasn't on T.V. Hardly anyone had one in those days. When you went to the movies it always started with the latest news. Of course it was all about the young Princess Elizabeth and her Philip. It was 1947 and 21 at the time. She was so beautiful. I was 9 at the time.

Tinka....
The Royal Family are the epitome of good taste. Queen Elizabeth II is the force behind that I think...
Some of them are tasteless and vulgar...but QE2 is without a blemish during her reign.
I relate to the fact that nothing is spared when it comes to decorum and affairs of state..for instance....during the wedding it was brought to my attention that Wills and Harry were driven in a maroon Bentley....I stated that the Queens car is a maroon Bentley
"well maybe she loaned it"....ha! I think not! There is obviously more than one maroon Bentley....because the royal fleet of cars is being updated.....
I mean can you picture this....
"here Wills (throws Bentley keys to William) take my car and go on to the church then send it back for me and Pee-Paw!"
The Queen does everything to perfection....and I relate to that.....
I also love the fairytale...I have researched and studied the royals...
and I love knowledge...matter of fact I yearn for it.
Its just another facet to my omnipotence....
humbly stated...
and Tinka...
you probably have seen Helen Mirren's Oscar winning performance in the "The Queen"...and more recently "The Kings Speech"....
I f not you should do so immediately....they are preferred viewing...especially for loyal subjects....
Thanks Michael. I will buy "The King's Speach" when it comes out in DVD.
Happy Royal Wedding Day Owls.
Tina, A beautiful blog for a beautiful person. You wrote what we all, imo, are feeling. Thank you!
Jodi, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Lynn, Looks like the drugs are working because you are so pretty today. ♥
I did go to my neighbor's to watch the Wedding. There was copious amounts of food and drink and fun was had by all. My friend decorates cakes as a hobby (and sometimes she sells them) so she made a beautiful small wedding cake. Most of us liked the dress, but not the veil and I agree with Tina about Fergie's kids. But I kinda liked Posh Spice's look. :) The double kiss was a nice touch.
SacBarb - You were lucky. I would have loved to have gone to a party for the wedding.
I also have to point out my dear (if you read my post again) that I said I watched Elizabeth and Philip's wedding in 1947 on the news at the movies. She was a beautiful bride. She did not become Queen until her father died in 1952. That coronation was played on t.v. Most of us had t.v's by then. It was a huge affair and we all had the day off from school. I was in High School by then.
Waving a wing to all the Owls. Time for a nap.
Tinka, yes I did read it again that's why I deleted the comment. Sorry.
SacBarb - You deleted the post about Elizabeth's coronation so please disregard my previous post. I don't want to delete it. Have a great day. I am going down for my nap.
Tina, thanks for the sweet tribute. I especially love the picture. I envision them, young and dancing to a roomful of loved ones.
Love yah Jodi :)
Waving at my special hooters~~~
Home from the dentist and now we will see if the 4th time is a charm on this bridge. I still have to go back in a week but just for a cleaning.
I was able to watch a lot of the Today show at the dentist so got to see some of the wedding and the hats! Fergie's girls will not be on the best dressed list on Entertainment Tonight!!! I thought the bride looked very pretty but then I think all brides look pretty. I liked her dress.
SACBARB: How late did you stay at the party? You must be very tired today. I think it would have been fun.
J/L: Are you still at your party? If you just started after breakfast and it is a five hour show.....whew, you will be watching some TV for awhile.
TINK: It is hard to think about you not having a TV when you are only 40. These Queen stories must have just been passed down to you :)
LYNN: You are looking just gorgeous today! :)
DIANNE: I am predicting that the fourth time WILL be the charm! Sometimes I'm good at this predicting stuff ya know.. ;D
BARB: I would have loved to go to a party like that..it sounds like a lot of fun! Did you save me a piece of cake?? :D
TINA: oooops... ;D
GOLDIE: LOL@ your mom and JODI's brother flirting..I love it! Thank you for all you've done..I know we all really appreciate it..and you! How are you feeling btw..have the antibiotics finally done their job?
MICHAEL: How's Belle doing?
BEBBI: Hello Sunshine! We're starting to really heat up here..the a/c went on 3 times yesterday! I hope it's warming up for you too! :)
TINKA: I'm sorry the Royal Wedding didn't record..I'm sure you'll find it replayed over..and over..and over again.. :D
JMM: Waving back with gusto!!! :D
Dianne - Yes that was a slip. I think it was my grandmother who told me about Queen Elizabeth's wedding. What was I thinking?
Zona - Yes I will probably see parts of the wedding over and over again but there is something about seeing it the first time it's showed. I should have PVR'd a different channel.
SacBarb - I bet you are tired today after the late night wedding party but it would be worth it. There were a lot of parties here but mostly at the main hotels like the Empress. They had an all night party. Victoria gets most of its tourists because we are known as Little England. Our city was named after Queen Victoria and the hotels "cash in" on that fact. Most of them have High Tea.
We have double decker buses, horse drawn tallyhos and flower baskets hanging from all the downtown lamp posts.
We have a lot of English gardens.
Actually it is very funny because there are more women here who have thick English accents even though they may never have been to England or left there as children.

ZONA: Who is JMM?
I am absolutely in love with this picture and it is so frame worthy.
from area 51
Dianne - You asked how many farms I have.
I have 9 on Audrey's Farmtown, 9 on Mary's Farmtown, 2 on Audrey's Farmville and 2 on Mary's Farmville. It looks like a lot but with all the fast tools (i.e a harvester that harvests 25 at a time and a boat that catches 25 fish at a time), it doesn't take me any longer than it did before, when we had 3 farms but no fast tools.
I love it, especially the English Farms on Farmville.
HOdi Many hugs and many kisses and lots of love sent your way today. LOL @ having a heart on for Tina.
LynnD You look especially lovely today. And unlike SacBarb, I'm not going to say that it is due to drugs, whether yours her hers, I'm not sure. LOL
Goldie Again, thank you for everything. xoxo
Tina This blog was absolutely perfect. Really. Kudos.
Wavingb at Dianne, iteach, SacBarb, Michael, Tinka, Bebbi, Zona, and Mary! Gee, I hope I didn't forget anyone. I need to get to Curves.
I will say that I didn't watch all of the Royal festivities. I did watch until after Kate's brother's reading. I thought Kate looked beautiful and I liked her dress. I thought it was sweet when she appeared next to William and you could read his lips when he told her she looked beautiful.
The hats were unbelievable! My Idaho friend said that he saw a couple of minutes of it and that he thought they looked like they were wearing Bug Zappers on their heads. LOL Oh, and that the commoners on the sidewalk were wearing Burger King crowns. LMAO
I guess I'm using my special powers.
J/L: You forget me! LOL!... wait... haven't posted yet!
Michael and Tink: Helen Mirren wasn't in The King's Speech...
Dianne and Bebbi: Glad to make you smile!
Tina: No worries. I don't think God restricts Heaven to Catholics... ;)
Bear. I believe Michael said Helen played "The Queen", meaning as in the move of that name. I'm on my Blackberry and too lazy to scroll back up and find that comment.
Good evening feathered friends!
TINA...a very lovely blog. And the picture is priceless. So very sweet.
JODI...Wish I could have been there to give you a hug in person, but I hope you felt it across the miles. {{{HUGS}}}
GOLDIE...Same as above! :) {{hugs}}
JUST LIN...we are "power"ful women!!
I thought the Royal couple looked divine. I loved her dress and also the dress she changed into for the reception. They looked genuinely happy. I was late to work as I had to watch the balcony kiss live! What a treat to have a second one!
JUST LIN...the post is at 1:45 and referred to 2 movies.
J/L~ Helen played The Queen in The Queen~ ur right~
Bear~ duh....we let Lutherans and Episcopalian's in too!~ :)~
Kid played last JV/V lacrosse game tonight....in the freaking snow!!!!! His last Soph/Frosh game is on monday! I'd love it if the sun showed up~ Goodnight all~
Brrr....it's windy and snowing hard here tonight. It was 70 earlier today. C r a z y weather.
Tomorrow my Grandson makes his First Communion so we will be up and out early...guess I will need to get to bed at a decent time...like now!!!
Have a good night and weekend everyone.
Whabbear - just_Lin was right. Michael did say that Helen M played in the movie "The Queen". You must have read the comment quickly. I answered it too quickly too because I spelled "Speech" incorrectly. That's a C- for me today. Shame on me.
Tina - I just scrolled back and I see you told Bear the same thing. He is getting it from both sides.
yeah...I did make that sound as though Mirren was in both...
Just "The Queen"...and Caligula...lol
Colin Firth was the "star" of The Kings Spleen"
he got an Oscar and everthang.....
69 ;)
GOLDIE - Eric was shameful...again flirting with Inge, and during communion :) THANK YOU...I don't know how I would've made it thru the last weeks without you ♥
TINKA - I'm so glad, too!!
BEBBI - It was a glorious day!! And the service was lovely. I couldn't have asked for anything better for Dad's send off :)
DIANNE - I know, but believe me when I say I have totally felt the love this week ♥ I was great talking to you, and yes, I fell asleep fast last night.
MICHAEL - I watched the wedding, too!! Loved the dress, but that veil...ugh!! And I'm sorry but who the heck let Prince Andrew's daughters out of the house looking like that?!!?
ZONA - You are my sister at the end of the world. I want to thank you for all your support during this long journey ♥
BARB - Thank you. The party sounded like fun!! I sipped green tea instead of coffee for the ocassion!! But a scone would've been a nice touch ♥
MARY - Love you more ♥ And good grief...that organist could've done us all a favor and taken The Old Rugged Cross down about 5 keys. I ended up singing bass ;) Thankfully Dales girlfriend was there and has a beautiful soprano voice and carried the top range for us all!!
ITEACH - I'm getting it framed this week!! It just makes me smile.....:O)
SLIN - Thank you. Believe me I could feel it!!
WHABBY - I'm waving at you!!
MO - I lol'd when they had to play the first on in slo-mo...and I loved the second one, too!!
TINA - Thank God....I was hoping you had made a special arrangement for us ;)
MO - Oh, my heck....first ONE!!!
75!!!
Heading back to work this morning. I think I'm ready to get back to some kind of "normal".
