This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
My boys blast their iPods when they're in the shower. I have no idea why both of them only play this song (and no nasty comments from the peanut gallery!), but I've started to enjoy this. Catchy little beat~ :D
ok....I love to watch that brand of dancing....not the part where they lay on the pavement and do that old timey brake dancing....and only the men...
I feel as though they could have left the prostitutes out of the whole thing though none of these people show very good fashion sense...
I'd be happy to direct a video for them but that would probably require a degree of eye contact and frankly I get fed up with that really fast...so many people act like its not even a rule....
Tina - Sorry I just can't relate to today's music. Too many years have passed by. I remember my dad saying the same thing about the music my sister and I would blast on the radio. Thank God there is always a younger generation to give the music alive.
We are getting ready to go to the fair. I wish my fur babies could come but there are no dogs allowed. The rule makes sense as there are so many animals out there including horses and dogs doing their tricks. They don't need distractions. I am taking my own supply of diet coke. They only have pepsi out there. See you later tonight. Have a good day everyone.
TINA: I really liked the song and the video! Thank goodness your boys keep you..and thus me..up to date on new music! I even think I could do the dance without hurting myself..well..at least the two step shuffle thing! I'm going to play this for Randy..and I bet we own it by next week..lol..
MICHAEL: Great taste in BAMM material..ijs.. ;D
TINKA: I grew up with my mom and dad liking the same music I did..it was weird when they would tell me to turn the radio UP! :D
Have a good time today! I hope your daughter and her family win lots of prizes! :)
HI ITEACH! I'm hoping for a Neil Diamond song for you next week! :)
When I used to live down here in SoCal, I would get get really bad hayfever. I already have a problem with fluid retention, but it's been extra bad with the heat. Also, when the temps got really high, I broke out in an itchy rash on the outside of my elbows and between a couple of fingers. Between that and the swollen eyelids from periodic crying spells, I'm a real beauty. Lol
Michael~ u have just that little extra bit of evil in you today, i see~ I do love that pic of Jack, tho~
Tinka~ I think you either start to like the kids' music....or just go deaf cuz you can't stand it....and I like other music too much to go deaf~ Have fun at ur fair....hope you don't see a scary freak like Michael there~
Uteach~ Sorry it's not ND...but I'm glad you liked it~
Zona~ u made me laugh...and I'm glad the Mr liked it~
J/L~ I'm doing okay....thinking about going to mass tonight.....think I'll git in the chower now~ And btw....rashes are fun.....grab a sharpie and play connect the dots~ :)~
Home again. Another Saanich Fair ends tomorrow. Summer was always over for me when we dragged ourselves across the beaten down hay field to get back to our car. Some years it would be a 25 minute walk. There are always so many cars packed in lines on the hay. They cover about 20 acres. Sometimes you would be in the last row. The smell of the hay is something one never forgets. I remember the years when after such a fun day the kids, Jack and I would hardly say a word getting to the car. We saved all our energy for walking. It was always such a contented time of day however. The kids would be carrying their prizes both from games and entries. They also would have candy apples and cotton candy. Those were the days.
It's different now. I have a handicap pass so we park right up front. Then I got to ride on the scooter so I wasn't tired when we were finished. Cara and family take their trailer so they have all the conveniences of home. Trailers also park close to the entrance.
No Just_Lin I didn't have to sneak in the coke. There are lots of choices of things to eat but some people bring a picnic basket. Jack (you know him, he is on Michael's avatar) and I are home but the rest of the family will be there until it closes at ten. Thomas and Traci buy a pass that allows them to go on any ride all day long. I don't know how they don't get sick. The four of them did very well in the competition again. They got about 18 prizes between them. Doug didn't do as well on his fruits and vegetables but Cara got a lot of 1st's with her jams and jellies and the kids did better than ever. All in all it was a great day.
Michael - We don't have any freak shows at the Saanich Fair. It is very wholesome. I do remember, however, going to the circus when I was a child and being tempted by men standing outside their tents saying, "Come see the human wolf" or "Come on in and see the two headed man and the fat lady". My mother would never let me and it did scare me but I was also a little curious. By the time I was old enough to go inside one of those tents they had been banned from the circus. Are there still freak shows anywhere I wonder?
Zona - My dad always had the radio on from the time he woke until he went to sleep at night. It was always tuned to the Country Station. I had my little portable radio that I carried around with music that was popular at the time. When I grew up I began to love Country music and still do. I could never get KMPS which was the station my dad listened to. When he died and I got his radio I was surprised that I could get KMPS on his radio at my house. No other radio just his. I always thought that was strange.
Barb - Isn't it great to have a son who will come and do chores? My boy is like that too. Even with Jack here he still comes and puts up all the outside Christmas lights and all the flower pots in Spring. There is nothing like having adult kids to help you out.
Well, Tinka,I have 25 students. One of them just went into a mental hospital, which just broke my heart. He should be back at the end of the month.
Then Cinderella's( really that is her name) mom took Cinderella and ran to Chicago. She does not have custody. However, the police found them and now she is back in my room.
But besides all of that, they are a really great group of kids. No bullies, just some sweet kids with dsyfuncutional parents.

That is the first time I have heard that song, and I actually enjoyed it. It was catchy!

Good morning, Party Animals.
Well, sometimes I shuffle but not in a good way. I used to be able to dance all night long. If I would have kept it up, I wouldn't be overweight now.
Tina Thanks for the fun vid today.
Sorry. Double post.
Hi erbidy!!
Tinka...ooooh...I love to go to the freak shows at the fair!! One year I saw a half woman..half spider...and it was huge!!
It had a spiders body and a womans head!! And it talked to use!!
Turns out it was a fake spider body and the woman was just poking her head thru a hole and mashing her head against the spiders body!
The next year I took a can of Raid but she wasn't there....prolly spinning her web of deceit at another fair...
Things are getting pretty bad when you can't even go to the fair and see a decent freak show....
I bet yall have great freaks in Victoria! Can't wait to here about them!!
If you ever get a chance to see "Jo Jo the DOG FACED BOY"...don't pass it up!!

Tinka You are seriously committed to Coke. Do you have to smuggle it in to the fair?
Waving at LynnD, Zona, iteach, and Michael.
J/L...
but do you have any excessive facial hair?
I heard that they have an opening for a bearded lady at Tinkas fair...
I just don't think people are gonna pay to see a bloated lady with a rash crying and sneezing...
Maybe at a Jewish fair...ijs
"Oy...Have I got a rash...."
KWIM?

Tina, I have never heard this catchy tune before. I think I may like it. I'm glad you're doing OK. Are you getting waited on by the family?
No. 1 son is here today doing little fix-it things for me. I should probably fix something to eat for him.
Waving a wing to Michael (BAMM), Lynn, Tinka, Zona, Iteach, J/L and all the Owls. I hope you are all having a good day.
and I would be willing to bet that those of you who have never heard this song...including me...will never hear it again...
I think I'd like to hear something by a man with a dyed comb-over and mutton chop sideburns....

Tina He's just male. They don't always get it.

Iteach - What is your class like this year? I love to hear about the kids.
All the fresh air and sun has made me very sleepy. I will see you all in the nest tomorrow. Have a happy and safe Labour Day. Most of all, Have Fun.

omg I was going to say the same thing about SLC!!!
ha hahahahahahahahaaaa!!!!!!!!!!
Thatsa funny....as my Italian specking friends would say...
Tinka....
they can't still round up people with deformities and exploit them although if the people want to do it...thats their prerogative...
Things like that spider lady that are funny are still popular...but thats just for a laugh...
and its too bad really...Tina could have made a lot of money as a child in the circus....you know...before they cut her tail off and shaved her...
thats right...
specking...
