This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
well the doggie was superb...but I always wonder about women dressed that way.
and did you notice her hair...a matted tangled mass of lord knows how many Toni home perms. Just tie a ribbon around it and push it back to look like an explosion on the back of the head...
Good Morning Shirley and Michael- Are you two all alone in the nest? I am happy I flew in to chaperone.
Michael - I saw your post to me yesterday but I had such a headache from the bright lights at the optometrist's I just didn't stay on the computer long.
Thanks for clearing up my question about Maureen's chair. I googled "bacon chairs" and saw some rare sights (pardon the pun). I am glad it turned out to be the soft velvety chair that I first saw. I love Dianne's chair. I would like one of those. Sometimes a little help getting out of a chair is nice. It would be great if one was pregnant. However I don't see that in my future or Dianne's.
Zona - I loved that video. I think I will watch it again. That dog is amazing. No I couldn't imagine Tango or Tia doing it either. Tia's mother, Rosa, won the "Top Bichon in Canada" in 2005 but Tia certainly didn't take after her. I had a hard enough time getting her through puppy kindergarten. Of course a lot of the credit goes to the trainer and I don't have the patience to do things over and over. A good trainer can get the dog to drop instantly with a "down" command. That would be handy if your dog got out of the house by mistake. We never got that far. The best that Tia and Tango can do is to sit and wait for their treats until I give the OK command. Sounds simple but we worked on that for a long time.
Thanks for all the comments on my blog. I'm sorry I wasn't here to thank you more timely. I didn't know it was going to post yesterday. I have been really crazy busy trying to get things done before next week. Chad will be here Sunday night and I am saving some things for him to do. He doesn't know that yet. LOL
Zona, Very cute video. I'm sure you could get Nikki trained. :)
I just got another call from Kaiser. Apparently they are my new best friend. The doctor wants me to have a carotid ultra sound today, so I better get ready. Have to be there in an hour. Sheesh!
Waving to all the Owls. I hope you are all having a great day. BBL
Thanks for the chair. I do need help some days. I was hoping to see a Bronco on it or Elway or Tebow. Oh well, I will have one put on it. Thanks for the chair , Michael.
Tink: u can borrow it any time u need it and u r so right--- neither of us will be pregnant in this life time.
Morning/afternoon, Tina. Don't send any mor snow to me for awhile. I want the Spring temps back and a clean car!!!
Cute blog, Zona. Cant really relate to dog training but still cute. I'm still trying to husband train
Barb: don't do too much more. Let ur son take over for u. Just concentrate on getting some magazines etc., for ur rest. What do they say the recovery time will be for u?
Splat back to u, Shirley. How the heck r u doing? Al Pat tax season for u or is it already?
Di, I am about done. I'm leaving some heaving lifting for Chad. BTW, Chad has one of those chairs that a friend gave him when he had his surgery two years ago. I used it a couple of times when I was there just because... He said he would give it to me if we could figure a way to get it down here cheaply.
Tina, It wasn't scary. Just a wand with goo on it that the tech moved around both sides of my neck. He wouldn't tell me anything though. Only took about 15 minutes.
SHIRLEY: Beeeeyoootiful! I like watching dogs run the obstacle courses too..but they look like they are having so much fun with this..
MICHAEL: I think you forgot the Bronco blanket..and slippahs..and lamp..and pillow..and that Bronco player..oh what's his name..to share the chair with DI.. :D
TINKA: I think Nikki would trip me before we could finish one lesson! :D
BARB: HE? You had a guy applying the goo and moving his wand along your neck? Lucky you.. ;D
DI: I'm thinkin' tho..if you had gotten a Bronco chair with what's his name or Elway in it..you would have never wanted to get up..ijs.. ;D
TINA: I know you ran right out and bought the instructional video so you and your loving pup could learn how to dance just like the vid..I just KNOW it.. ;D
LYNN: LOL..I know..the dog stole the show!!
MO: Step away from the bacon chair!! ;D
Good TV on tonight..gonna go watch..have a good night everyone!!
ZONA...i can't see the vid, but in a kind of related story...
When I first moved to L.A my first job was as a sales rep for a video production company. They produced a video called...How to Train Your Dog to be a Hollywood Star!!
I drove around all day going to Vet clinics and pet stores. I think I sold 1! That job lasted about 3 days!
Shirley You are still looking so cute and yellow in that outfit. Are you still worried about cooties in the nest? Yellow does suit you, though, as it matches your sunny disposition. ;)
Tina - Jack felt better today than he has in weeks. He went to the farm for a while today and does not feel tired tonight. He was tired for weeks before his mini stroke. I don't think he will ever work as hard again. It's not worth it.
Michael That is a great chair for Dianne. It will make getting up so much easier. She'll just kind of elevate like the angel that she is. We can always pitch in and get a Bronco throw to drape over the arm to make it even more personalized.
Tinka I'm so glad that Jack is feeling better. One needs to learn to listen to their body. I think it was telling him something when he was so tired before the mini stroke. It was saying, "SLOW DOWN!"
Maureen - You missed a good video. I have been singing the song all day.
I guess we all had some strange jobs. My first job (at the age of 15) was taking pictures of people on the tallyhos (horse drawn carriages), running to the shack to develop and print the pictures. That took about an hour which was the same length of time the tour took. Then we would jump on the back of the rig, go up and down the aisle selling pictures of themselves to rich Americans. The pictures cost a dollar which was quite expensive but I did sell a lot. I also got invitations to visit people in Texas and other states. I wonder what they would have done if I had shown up? For this lovely summer job I was paid $17.00 a week. I can't believe now how much I enjoyed it back then.
Dianne Hopefully, your new chair rises in a nice slow manner and won't fling you into your television. Maybe it plays "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as it lifts you up, which would be much better than "Ding Don, the Witch is Dead".
Hi Just_Lin - We never seem to be posting at the same time but I always enjoy your comments to me. I am usually too tired by the time I read them to comment back but I do appreciate being waved at by you.
MO I'm suprised you got out of your bacon chair today. It looks so roomy and comfy. I like my bacon crispy. How about you? If I recall correctly, you do eat bacon.
We are about to watch our nightly DVD of E.R. We are on season 11 and just ordered the last two of the series, seasons 13 and 14. I had never watched it before and neither had Jack. We are really enjoying it.
Zona, LOL, I guess I should have proof read my comment before posting. Although, the tech that did the ultra sound was kinda cute, I don't think I was anywhere near getting lucky. :)
JUST LIN...if I didn't have to go to work, I would def still be in my chair. This weekend is going to be a MEEkend and I shall remain cozied in the chair. No taking anyone anywhere or errands for anyone. I'm gonna stop on the way home for weekend rations and extra TP and do a bunch of nothing.

Well I have to say I have never seen anything like that before! I have seen the course where the jump and go through tubes and stuff, but never dance!

Zona - Now that song "You're the One" is racing through my brain. It makes me want to watch "Grease" again.
Off to my farms. Have fun today owls. Dianne, enjoy your chair.

SacBarb - I am happy your procedure went well. Sending lots of positive energy your way.
Dianne - Are you enjoying your chair? When you get tired of it just send it here by express. I have just the spot for it.
Shirley You are still looking so cute and yellow in that outfit. Are you still worried about cooties in the nest? Yellow does suit you, though, as it matches your sunny disposition. ;)
Zona I've seen that vid before and it is very impressive and fun. That is a well-trained dog, for sure.

Thanks again for the video. I have watched it more than once today.
