Stat that Shirley! LOL
Morning Glories!
Carol watched the full video and Horio is a hero. I was teary eyed watching him rescue that child. You could see the adrenalin rushing through his face but he did not panic. He just did what he had to do to make sure the boy was safe and still breathing. So protective when he laid him down.
There are still people who value all and would not think twice about saving someone if they could. This is my America. The one I am proud of. American courage and selflessness in action.
Carol, I rarely make it out to the NY/NJ area. I can only imagine the pride you all have over the good living amongst you. How unfortunate that many of those brave souls didn't live to see it.
Hello LynnD! I was unable to see the vid. Just an empty screen. I probably need to reboot, as this laptop has been on forever, but then I'll lose all the work-in-progress.
Good Morning Bon! I had to go to the youtube longer version. The short one would no play for me either.
Morning!
Congrats on first Lynndeeee!
Congrats to DeeDee on guessing the dessert! I really thought that "Tartufo" was a made up word and there was going to be a punch line something like "Tart Fo the Ho"
Good Morning Everyone
CAROL: I saw this on the news last night..it's just wonderful that that this man was willing to risk his life to save another.
When I was living in California there was a story about a man who witnessed a car accident and immediately pulled over to help. There were three women in the car, one was pregnant. He was afraid there might be a fire, so he started getting the women to safety. He rescued the pregnant women first..then came back for the other two. A few weeks later he was sued by one of the women because, she said, he caused her emotional distress and endangered her life by not rescuing her first. I can't remember what happened in the case...but when he was asked if he would ever stop and help again..he turned away without answering. Although I understood what he must have been feeling, this just made me so sad.
It always gives me hope for our world when someone helps another without thinking of themselves first.
LYNND: Congrats on FIRST!
BONACHICHI: I don't know how long you've lived in CA..but do you remember the case I mentioned above? I tried to Google it to find out how it was finally settled but I couldn't find it. It happened in the early 90's.
G'Morning SCIRISH..LOL at your dessert name..
SHIRLEY: Thanks for the stats list..my but you are doing verrrrry well in all catagories.. ;)
Good Morning Lynn - Congrats on first.
Good Morning Bonachichi, Scirish, and Zona-My-Baby.
Off to read blog and comments, eat my breakfast and feed my 'fur babies'. If I don't get back, "Have a great day everyone".
Love Tinka
Oh Carol~ I love stories like that. That is how I see humankind....most people are inherently good. I wish more of these types of stories made the news instead of all the bad~
Congrats on first LynnD~ Thanks for letting me sleep in today~ :D
Good Morning to Bonachichi, Scirish, Zona, and Tinka~
Oh....I keep forgetting to tell you guys....Remember when my kid and his friends painted themselves for the football game? Well "bulge guy" won for most spirited senior (what a shocker!) and my daughter won for most spirited freshman! :D
Scrish, I do indeed remember the Good Samaritan case. It was thrown out. The media didn't come out and say so, but they plastered her picture all over so the rest of us would know not to save her in the future, if we wanted to avoid litigation.
I'm sorry, Zona; that last comment was for you :D
Ok, anybody with the first name "Horio" would be a hero in my book even if he didn't do heroic things!
Good afternoon, Lynn D, Tink, Bon, Zona, Scrishy, Tina, and Carol! I'm kind of late getting in to the nest today because we spent all morning "fall cleaning". Zona, do you have as many spiders over there as we do in Palm Springs? I must have destroyed 10 thriving ecosystems around the outside of our condo this morning!
LynnD Congrats on getting here before Tina noticed.
Scirish LOL @ Tart Fo the Ho!
Tina Congrats to Tina Jr.!
Zona I can't even imagine the kind of person that would sue under those conditions. What a jerk!
Carol Thanks for the uplifting story. It takes a special kind of person to rush into danger for the sake of another, especially a stranger. It's good to know that kind of selflessness and heroism still exists.
Scrish....I wasn't guessing the name of the dessert....God...I thought we were going to have another war of the words....like we did about zorch!! lol.....
Hi everyone...good blog today...I would like to think that if any of us were put in a situation that required extraordinary bravery....that we would rise to the task....its natural.....what is unnatural is suing a person who helped you......so crazy.....
Have you all seen Elizabeth Smart in the news regarding her kidnappers competency hearing....
She is amazing and she means to see those people behind bars.....
Such grace and composure.....I want to do something wonderful for that young lady.....any ideas.....its sort of akin to the blog today...
Honoring the heroic....and Elizabeth is a hero in my book..
DeeDee I haven't heard anything about Elizabeth Smart today but I did see something on the news about it last night. It is amazing that she has such grace after going through what she did.

Hello Hello Hello!
I will watch this video in a little bit. I have more exciting things to do at the moment like clean the toliet.
I'll bbl my the toliet brush is calling for me.......
Oh, my! Everyone's been busy today. I've been battling a laptop that has a mind of its' own, and a spoilt CHILD in the body of an 18 year-old young woman.
I keep asking myself, was I that detestible when I was that age?
Hi everyone!
Congrats on 1st Lynn D!
Great blog and video Carol. That is the type of story that warms the cockles of your heart!
Shirley,
Stats are Final? Oh my, well then I guess you are the winner in all categories, You are such a good book
keeper.. I am so glad we can count on you! LOL..
:O)
cockles? did someone say cockles?
:O)
Iteach...
Oh, I will certainly pass on cleaning the toilet.. LOL
Not final as in never being done again, just final meaning they can't be changed.
If anyone is out there, I found a good deal today. I was going to replace my daughter's laptop - because she spilled something on it. I went to Best Buy and learned that they're clearing out the "old" computers to make way for the new breed. All computers come with a free Windows 7 upgrade (when it's released in about a month). Even BETTER is that they take trade-ins! Like a car! I'd gathered old laptops & cell phones and can get the new computer FREE!
Such a deal! Now that the little worm has gone and pissed off the whole family, I'll be giving all my trade-in stuff to my dad and HE'S getting a new laptop. Good things can come out of bad!
Lynn..
I know, it was such a heartwarming story, we don't see it often, and when we do, it just makes me believe all over again..
Sorry about the first link, I clicked on in this morning as well and it was not working so I found another link and this one is working..
Shirley, are you sure you can't be bribed? Maybe with some cockles? A new word for us!
Oh Carol would you let Mo know that I did some breakfast up for her on a plate in the frig. It's half a can of sardines (not sure how long they were open) and a couple biscuit someone left on the cupboard from last week. Would you also tell her she can finish the carton of milk off that is in the back on the right side. The date says Sept. 15th but they always get that wrong. I'm sure it's fine.
Well Bonachichi...I never say never! LOL!
Oh, boy! Cockles are in the nest! LOL
FlashForward is just starting here. Is anyone else watching that?
Shirley..
"They can't be changed"... LOL..
You crack me up!
J/L..
Fun! cockles.. :O)

Shirley It's a new show about how everyone in the world goes unconscious for a few minutes and has visions of their life in the future. I just realized tonight's episode is the same one that was on a few days ago.

J/L..
Cockles and 69 all in one night.. You are a very lucky owl!!!!!
cockles: the core of one's being —usually used in the phrase warm the cockles of the heart
Carol I know! I should be going to Vegas with Mary!
You ladies need to get your minds out of the gutter! No wait...if you did that then you wouldn't be crackwhores, so carry on!
Tina..
Congrats on "bulge boy" and your
daughter.. That was surly a great win!!!!
;O)
Congrats on first Lynn D!
DeeDee: I agree, Elizabeth Smart is a hero and I was amazed at her composure and determination too. She will go far for sure. She is a lovely person inside and out. She really shows what it takes to survive something horrible and come out the other side and thrive!
Bonachichi: Spoilt 18 year olds sounds really familiar..oh yes, my daughter is 20 and I remember a couple of years ago..wait, what I am I talking about, I remember her NOW too..haha. :)
We have a big big Art Show here in Louisville this weekend. It is the St. James Art Fair. You all should google it, it is world famous.
cockles: the core of a man's heart!
:O)
Hi Bebbi..
How ya feeling..
I was totally amazed at Elizabeth Smart as well, what a brave young girl..
That man should be hung from his toes for days..
Zona..
Oh that was awful, she should have been totally grateful but instead she was greedy.. Shame on her!
Mo,
You have breakfast waiting for you from Shirley @ 10:54pm, Please while reading/eating turn away from the computer, cause if you hurl, I don't want any of it on me.. :O)
J/L..
Just think you might win a "cockles" of money!
Bonacci..
Thxs for the update.. glad they threw it out, hope they threw her out as well..
I have been glued to the "David Letterman having sex with his employees" news story..
This is what I cannot comprehend..
Did the guy that was black mailing him really think he was going to get away with it? Can someone really be that stupid? Cause you really have to be stupid to even think for one nano second that you can get away with that!
Totally baffles me...
And.. Jon and Kate.. total train wreck, and the sad part, I cannot look away..
I love cock holes~
OK, my bed just called and wants to know where the hell I am, so I guess I better go.
Good night everyone!
wow shirley....who's in ur bed? It better not be George and his shaft~
wait....i said that wrong! I have a cock hole....i need to fill it!~ :)~
The surly in Tina's comment..
Well there is a back story.. I always thought you spelled "surely" like this "surly" not sure why tho, I guess I just never thought about it. It seems Tina did tho, cause she totally called me out on it.. so from now on my "surly" will be "surely".
Thanks Tina for correcting me, we had a good chuckled about it, I am happy you corrected me.. Its like when someone has a piece of green lettuce in their teeth and noone tells them, they walk around all day looking stupid.. So now I am not stupid anymore.. Hooray for me..
:O)
Tina... ur a crackwhore, of course you would like cock-holes..
Carol I totally agree! How could a producer of the 48 Hours TV show be so incredibly stupid to think he can blackmail someone and get away with it! Mind boggling.
Tina Do you admit to this stuff at confession. ;)
J/L~ fuck no~
Uh....Carol~ no one is TWO words~ ijs~ :D
Tina..
HA! LOL..
well good news...you spelled that right! :)~

Tina: Thank goodness you told her!!
Carol: I had major debates in my head about whether I should mention it or not. I see now I SHOULD have told you!! I am sorry for not being the friend I should have been.
And, Carol, thanks for asking, I am feeling much better. Started feeling a lot better on Thursday..after all the drama this week, I am glad I am getting back to my old self.
I am driving to Bowling Green tomorrow...I will be driving right by the exit for the Zappos Warehouse. I will tip my hat to acknowledge all those awesome SHOES!..:)
DAMN! hubby was yelling at me to let the dog in...and I yelled back that I was trying to get 100! and I typed 10!!! AND THEN I FIXED IT!!!! ugh!!!!
congrats Carol~

This is going to be hard..
Carol~ I'm being surly now~ :)~
Hi Bebbi~ I'm glad ur feeling better~
I agree, too..Jon and Kate...total train wreck. The saddest thing is, there are a lot of younger people who watch that show and enjoyed it and they do not know what to make of it now. It's a shame. Besides that, those children have got to feel the tension too.
Carol: Are you still watching Octomom?
Bebbi..
so what are you saying? Tina is my friend?
Bebbi..
Glad you are feeling better, tomorrows always help..
Carol You are "surly", which means "cross"? LOL
Thanks Tina!
Carol, I have a word that I always spell wrong and I have to correct myself. When I remember it, I will tell you. I have to write it to remember that I spell it wrong everytime. IT is hard for me to try and do it right because it doesn't "look right" to me.
Damn, I wish I could remember what word it is.
J/L.. I know that is what Tina told me..
I still can't believe I spelled it that way.. I even spell it that way when I e-mail clients.. Oops.. :O)
definitely...that is the word. I want to spell it definately. For some stupid reason. I have trouble with the "i" vs. "a" problem a lot.
Bebbi...
No, totally over octomom, for now anyway..
Bebbi..
I hate that word, I could never spell it right either, so I cheat and put
"def"
:O)
A lot of people have trouble with "alot" vs "a lot" and when to use then or than~
Carol: I don't know if she claims you, but it would seem that she is, since she did assist you and I did not. I am serious that I debated whether to tell you or not. I don't know if you know this, but you use that word a lot! :) It wasn't annoying or anything, just I got used to you writing it the other way. And, sometimes little things like that are nice when you are on the computer. It shows you that the person is at least consistent and it is truly them. Almost a way to have an inflection, if you know what I mean.
Tina do you mean..
I love alot of cockles?
or
I love a lot of cockles?
Which is correct?
Tina, I have trouble with a lot, a lot of times.
I always separate it. I think I do...anyway..lol.
I should have said a way to show inflection..lol..sounds like you had an infection..roflmao.
Bebbi..
Well then she is my friend, and you are my friend to, cause you did not want to tell me, in thinking it would hurt my feelings..
So.. I just made two friends over the word "surly"
:O)
Carol has surlyitis. I have definatitus.
Bebbi..
I was just going to type LOL on my infection.. but you bet me to it..
:O)
Both of them are way better than SWINE FLU!
A LOT!!! It's two words....my 7th grade teacher drilled that into all of us....she said it drove her nuts then someone wrote it incorrectly. I learned "no one" when my brother and I entered a contest in Tiger Beat magazine when I was 12 yrs old....we kept looking at the word noone and it looked so wrong that we asked our mother.
Someone on this blog used to write "alot" all the time.....and yes Bebbi...i would use that as their "little quirk" that told me that it was really them~
Good Lord! How our conversations progress..LOL
Tina..
Than the cockles were happy..
or
Then the cockles were happy..
Which is correct?
Maybe we should have a monthly blog on grammar! Ha..now that would be fun. I am sure we could find some GOOD examples of things not to write in our comments..LOL
then~
THEN the cockles were happy..after they had their fill, nothing better THAN happy cockles.

hey....that one too~
I really used to be a stickler for proper grammar and I have totally changed now. Thanks to text messaging. I love ur, wen (I know, don't cringe), 4 instead of for..oh I could go on and on.
i got a conflict msg..and there was no post...then there was one...then there were two~ go figure~
left out omg!~
Sample text: r u home 4 a wile & if not wen will u b. c u
Tina..
That is what they all say..
now explain to me why i use the ~
I only use it when I type...never when I write (sometimes I force myself to, but it doesn't feel right) and never when I text~ When I was in Mexico, the ~ is not in the same place...and I kept typing whatever was in place of that key! drove me nuts~
Bebbi..
I txt that way 2..
Okay..I need sleep...I am tired. night all and sweet dreams!
Carol/Tina: Please tell me if you notice a consistent little quirk that drives you insane. I don't like broccoli in my teeth either. :)

I am guilty of using "alot" a lot, especially when typing. It's so much easier as one word! LOL
crap..
conflicting edit.. now I forgot what I was going to say...

MO Do your areolas also have long hairs that blow in the breeze as they fart?
I love the sophisticated humor on this blog. LOL
Because of the texting shorthand, I'm afraid no one will know how to spell anything properly.
I just got stuck having a convo with the charmer.. this totally wipes me out.. He confuses me..
I am off to bed..
c u all tomorrow..
OMG!! The blog exploded! Now I've got to catch up!
Carol, no fair. Whab's got his own cockles. 24/7 access. Unfair advantage.
No one; I used to work with a woman whose last name was Noone. People kept pronouncing it "No One". We of course, were more respectful. We called her Spot.
Regarding the Spoilt Princess. Yes, she's been thrown out. First from my home, then from my dad's. The alarms in her head SHOULD be going off, but she DID GRANDPA A FAVOR BY STAYING WITH HIM! I've written a blog. If Carol publishes it, you can all show it to your kids. A warning, of sorts.
Since I seem to be alone in here, I'll talk about farts. Are you all familiar with the Uzi?
Well, the Spelling Nazi's come to the blog again. Keeping the spelling and grammar straight from one language to another is difficult. The Spanish alphabet has 30 letters, English 26, and I believe Italian has 22. I can't even read Greek or Cyrillic.
A few weeks ago, I watched the screener version of a movie. It had subtitles in a language I couldn't identify. It seemed to be made up of mutations of the letters a and i. That's it. Just a and i, and a consonant thrown in once in a while.
Well, it's kind of boring talking to myself. I've not taught myself anything new. Maybe Ernie the Chihuahua wants to talk.
TINA: You are such a good friend to let us know when we have food on our face (spell a word consistently wrong). It is good to be assertive like that...I am glad that I have spell check!!
This blog was great about a hero and then the tone sure did change.
SHIRLEY: I don't see your stats. Am I blond..I mean blind?
Ok, I am off to bed early as I have two football games to attend in the AM and a fund raiser pancake breakfast first---at 8:30 on the other side of town. Hopefully, time to come home and take a nap as going out for MRD's one week late bday dinner tomorrow night.
Night all..
BONACHICHI: HI, I am here but now I am leaving. This crazy farming is making me very tired....
Ahhhh. Everyone's farming! I'm holding a silent protest of one against Mafia Wars on FB. They need to fix the holes in their s/w.
s/w? sore wiener?
Sorry, Tina. s/w = software. It's Geek Speak.
software...sore wiener....pretty much the same thing~ ijs~
Well, I guess they'd both be soft...
