This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Good Morning Iteach - Congrats on being first. Aren't the first few weekends of the school year wonderful. I remember being so tired in September. Every year we would say the same thing, "I don't remember ever being so tired in past years. It always took me about 3 weeks before I felt "normal", or at least as normal as I could be.
Michael - I spent so much time watching CNN I have a tv. handover. The first thing I did when I got up at 6:30 was put on the television expecting to see New York underwater. The sun is shining there now and the subways didn't flood. I always feel sorry for the Governor who orders people out of their homes only to find the homes did just fine. It could have been much worse and then he would have been a hero. Such is life.
Oh Dianne - I was checking out my farms when it "hit me" that I didn't thank you for the video. I loved it. It really touched me. I am going to listen to it again later. I couldn't believe it was "Kiss". Thanks for sharing.
Good Morning....MICHAEL, ITEACH AND TINKA. Glad to see you all up and moving early today...(me too....too early).
TINK: I have been like you watching the TV. My husband has been in touch with his family throughout the day yesterday and this morning as they live in Virginia Beach. His daughter had to evacuate so don't know the water damage there yet and she is at her mom's without power. His sister's family and mom are doing fine.
MICHAEL: Glad you found some "hot guys" in my video today. I thought it was a pretty good video and a surprise that it was KISS and you are so right that Gene is rather unattractive to say the least. I'm still waiting for you to finish your "assignment" from TINK about all the good things to say about your pal TINA.
ITEACH: You are pretty chipper this AM with your splat into the nest. Good morning to you too.
TINA: I hope you are still feeling okay and that your drugs are working (if you need them) prior to your surgery. What time does MICHAEL arrive on Tuesday? He is so darn sweet to be at your bedside.
ZONA: Hope you have a great late bday celebration today and love the movie and dinner. Maybe you will get that piece of Pumpkin Cheesecake!!
Today is my day to go to our Fantasy Football draft and i have my picks all ready....now if I can just get a good place in the voting order.
Hope everyone has a good day and relaxes ......remember, it is Sunday.
I am glad Tina is getting the medical advice she needs and is having her biliary vesicle removed so that she may gain some control of her bowels and so she won't have halitosis anymore.
Despite looks, Gene Simmons, is notorious with the women in the bedroom.
I did see Kiss in concert 24 years ago and at that time they were lacking in popularity. I remember my ticket was only $15 and their might have been about 200 people at the concert.
I just had trouble signing in again. It said "Do you know why you cannot sign in?" and it sent me to a long page telling me that my cookies or browser had been disabled and gave a list of 10 things I had to do to be able to sign in again. I turned off my computer, tried again and it was fine. I think my computer has a hex on it. Michael, is it you and are you trying to find way to get out of doing your assignment? Well Sweetie, it didn't work this time. Get back to work.
Dianne - So nice to see you up so early and chipper. I hope you are feeling as good as you sound. Thank you for cracking the whip and reminding Michael he has an assignment due soon.
Michael my dear. I want you to go back and read #2 again. Now tell me, does that honestly say something kind about your dear friend who is near death with pain? I want to be encouraging but you must try a little harder.
Jim pointed me to an article where they argued that the storm should have renamed "Hurricane Hype"! As soon as it failed to reach category 4 status between the Bahamas and making landfall in North Carolina, I figured this was overkill. Lots of flooding along the shore, though!
Michael - I posted before I read your comment about Tina. Good for you. Now you are trying. Just 5 more and you can go out to play with the other little boys (or girls if that is your preference).
Hi Whabbear - Nice to see you. Yes Jim named it correctly. Last night Jack and I started to count how many times they repeated the same story. However, I guess for the people who lost a child because a tree fell on him or lost part of their house due to the wind, the storm was horrific.
Well that statement about Tinas cat wasn't true anyway...it is actually a flea bitten bag of worms....
so lets see...
Tina is a good daughter. Every time her parents need her she fly's down and goes to the beach...once of course her parents have been seen to.... And that time she buried her Mom up to the neck in the sand and threw a towel over her head and left her was an accident...Tina went back and got her before the tide came in....
Tina is closer to her Dad. But a good daughter to both her parental units. But she never has buried her Dad up to his head and left him.
Sorry, Tina, I guess you aren't doing too grand at the moment. Several years ago, my daughter had her gall bladder removed. They just made a couple of tiny incisions and she was sent home the same day. She even insisted on stopping at a pharmacy and grocery store on the way home to pick up a few things. She wasn't doing sit-ups for a while but her recovery was uneventful. I hope your surgery and recovery go as well as hers did.
Dianne I really enjoyed the vid today. Thanks for sending it in. Needless to say, they would have learned these songs and practiced them prior to the USO tour. Simmons used to be a teacher, 5th or 6th grade I think.
I lost track of what was happening with the hurricane. I'm sure the mayor would have rather erred on the side of caution, especially when lives could be lost. Dianne,, I'm glad your family members are okay.
Good Afternoon~ Werk is C R A Z Y today~ ugh~ Almost done tho~
Uteach~ pretty in first~
Michael dear~ ur a wretch~ evil and mean~ my cat is precious...just cuz she threw up on #3's blanket yesterday.....don't hold that against her~
Tinka~ So glad you made it back in~ You've been so kind....I think I want you as a blog mom (since I lost mine )~
Di~ thanks for the blog~ I like KISS~ I love Gene Simmon's show...but I'm a little pissed at how he's hurt Shannon~ .... oh well~ Glad ur family is okay....haven't heard a word about my BIL and SIL in DC~ I guess I should ask~ :)~ AND...I'm pretty sure that if Michael got off a plane here in SLC on Tuesday, he'd be shot on arrival.....I'm just not sure which one would be pulling the trigger~ :D
Bear~ The flooding is horrible~ I'm glad the storm wasn't as bad as it could have been....but you know the media...they hype up EVERYTHING!!!~
J/L~ big huge parenthesis~ I can't imagine what ur going thru, but ur in my prayers~
well....the kid is back at college and the hubby is back home from taking him~ All I can think of is....laundry for 4 is so much easier than laundry for 5~ :)~
Hi Just_Lin - I know what you mean when you say, "Sometimes, it just doesn't seem real." There will be good days and bad days for you. I am keeping you in my prayers.
Tina - Thank you for the kind comments. I would gladly be your blog mom. However, that would make you and Zona blog sisters. She loves being an only child so we will have to think hard about this and discuss it with Zona-My-Baby. She is so precious. How about my being your Great Aunt who spoils you with love and riches?
Tina I was 16 when I had my gallbladder out. Before the surgery I went on a school trip to Quebec. I was scared to eat anything cause I didn't want to have a gallbladder attack (very very painful), so all I had the 4 days we were there was diet coke and Arrowroot cookies. I hope you are able to eat more than that. Good luck Tuesday. Don't let Michael in the operating room.
Shirley~ I've been eating nothing but cardboard~ you know....stuff that some people call "healthy food"....ugh~ salads....soups...cereal...fruit... veggies....you know....what I call CRAP!!!!~ I want chocolate~ :)~ But i get the thing about not wanting another attack....2 was enuf for me~ NASTY!!!~ I look forward to having the dang thing out...and being a lady of leisure....for a couple of days at least....from what everyone says, it's a piece of cake....the hubby just told me tho that he wants to make sure i signed the DNR! (anyone want a hubby?)
When I had mine out I was in hospital for 10 days. The arm that had the IV in it was stretched out on a board for 2 day...not comfortable. I'm glad your procedure will be a lot easier and less recoup time.
man Shirley~ that's awful....you must have had it done in the olden days~ :)~ When I had my c-section, they had both my arms stretched out on boards and hooked up to crap.....and I HATED IT....and it was only for about an hour or so....I can't stand that part when they wheel you into the OR....right before they put you under....i freak out....and then I wake up SO freaking tired...and THEY WANT YOU TO GET UP AN WALK AROUND......hell.....let me drug you and then drag your bare ass around to show everyone else you pass~ beasts~ (do I sound anxious?) :D
It was back in 1977, so I guess that's old. I had a cranky old witch for a nurse too. Told me to suck it up and deal with the pain. She didn't like giving out pills.
DI: That video was really cool! I loved the looks of pride and happiness on the faces of the soldiers! I always have to smile a little when I see KISS without make-up..I can remember as a teenager wondering what the heck they all really looked like..and then seeing that first pic of Gene Simmons sans pancake..yikes! Great vid DI!
Regarding the hurricane, my brother lives in Oak Island, NC and they were okay. They didn't evacuate and only had to pick up limbs and stuff..no major damage. :)

Breakfast is just about ready so I will wish all the owls in and out of the nest a Happy Sunday.

there are still 3 million without power and FEMA is saying it will takes days to restore...
I guess evacuations are best...not to take any chances....
its a toss-up....you might be ok and you might drown...
Morning Tinka...
Oh Dianne - I was checking out my farms when it "hit me" that I didn't thank you for the video. I loved it. It really touched me. I am going to listen to it again later. I couldn't believe it was "Kiss". Thanks for sharing.
Michael - You are right. It still was a very serious storm. New York was just lucky to "dodge the big bullet". Good Morning to you too.
Back to checking my farms and then breakfast.

Good Job, MICHAEL.....I think your teacher TINK will be so proud of you!!!! See.....you are sweet......

Tina - Thinking of you today and hoping you are not in too much pain. Remember my advice on the meds. Take anything offered.
Michael my dear. I want you to go back and read #2 again. Now tell me, does that honestly say something kind about your dear friend who is near death with pain? I want to be encouraging but you must try a little harder.
Iteach - I can hardly believe that Gene Simmons is great with the ladies. He doesn't appeal to me. Let's just say he is no Elvis!!!!
Hi, Audrey, Michael, Jennifer, and Dianne!

Hey, once again I got 25 and didn't mark it. I am slipping here.

Yes, Tina, I agree with laundry being easier for four than five. :)
Evening Owls!
Dianne I'm not a big Kiss fan but this video was cool. I like seeing celebrities doing stuff like this. Thanks!
