As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don't really give a rat's "Patootie". It's the tortoise life for me!
1. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat.
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.
4. A tortoise doesn't run-- and does nothing--yet it lives for 450 years.
And you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so.
I'm retired.
Go around me.

Good Morning Owls - Is every one still asleep or are you all out jogging?
I agree with your blog Dianne. It's nice to be retired. The one thing I didn't like about teaching was the fact that if you felt sick you had to phone the Principal and ask him to get you a substitute. I had one miserable guy who would then ask you to explain what was wrong with you. Sometimes that was embarrassing. Of course that was years ago. In the last ten years you would get your own substitute. You couldn't, however, stay home until you felt completely well. You always went back when you could have easily stayed in bed another two days. Yes, retirement has its benefits
Our son went to Vancouver to pick up fish from our producers. That gave Jack another day to rest. This has been a rather nasty flu. Hope that's it for another year. I will try to read and comment on past blogs but please forgive me if I don't get to it. I am sure they were all great.
Time for breakfast. See you later.
DI: LOL!! I'm tellin' ya..with the way my knee has been acting up the last few weeks..it's the tortoise life for me whether I like it or not..I just hope I don't live another 400 years..sheesh..I can't remember anything NOW.. :D
TINKA: Congrats on FIRST beautiful lady!! I'm glad Jack will be able to rest today..hopefully you will both feel better soon! :)
Good morning...
My avatar is a photo of John Wagner. He is man responsible for thrusting Maxine on the world in 1986.
After 26 years shouldn't she be dead by now? Please?

Tinka Well, you sure are looking beautiful in first today. I'm glad Jack was able to stay home and rest another day. My son and I had some kind of flu a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty nasty, as well. My son got it worse than I did....running a temp of 102 for a few days. Maybe the fact that I had a flu shot made it less drastic for me.
Dianne I guess I'm not following Maxine's advice since I am trying to make it to Curves to exercise 5 days a week. Right now we are having a food drive to donate food to the local resource center. We've far exceeded our expectations and we aren't even done yet. :)
Thanks for sending in the blog for us.
Zona I find that I am more forgetful than I used to be and it is kind of scary. I don't know if it means anything or not. Nothing big, but things like knowing that there was something extra that I wanted to pick up at the store but then when I get there, I can't remember what it was. I don't forget that there was something I was supposed to remember, though, so I guess that's a positive. lol
Michael I saw a nice story on the news last night about a maltese rescue so I am not clicking on your link. I am kind of over looking at those kinds of things at the moment ever since another story on the news earlier yesterday regarding a horrible abuse case involving two dogs. I am still very upset about it and will continue to be. Some people need to be shot, imho.
J/LIN: I know I'm going to forget what I need at the store..so I make a list..and then I forget the list..lol..
MICHAEL: Biggest odds in history too..but it doesn't hurt to try.. :)
I rarely watch animal rescue vids..they always make me cry..I saw that one on fb..it's heartbreaking..but the ending made me smile..
Last week we had a murder out on Hwy 21....
http://wtaw.com/2012/03/26/brother-arrested-in-mans-murder-body-found-in-brazos-county/
the murderer dumped the guys dog and everyone is looking for "Harley"...the family has offered a $1000 reward.
I called the Sheriff this morning hoping for good news but still no word on Marley....there is a photo of Marley in this article...
Lotto is just for fun Zona!
And just think...if you won you could give Jan Brewer the money she needs to buy back the AZ capitol bldg that she sold and now leases...
Zona I make a list if it's more than about 3 things. Problem with the list is that I skim over it and completely miss something that is written there plain as day. Sometimes there's just no winning.
Michael Are we taking the word of the murderer that he dumped the dog?
