Perfume

by Iteach

Last month I read a very interesting article about the new royal couple and how Kate's wedding day perfume sold out completely. The article went on to tell how she spent a lot of time picking out just the right scent for everyone to remember her by. So then I started to think about my scent. Should I have a signature scent? A type of perfume that everyone will think, "Oh, that so reminds me of Jennifer". I usually wear whatever I get for a Christmas present, I am not loyal to any certain type of perfume.

But should I look for my signature scent? Do you have one? Are you loyal to any type of perfume?

Iteach~ thanks for sending in the blog~ I'm very picky about perfume......don't have a scent that I just have to have....but I can't stand being near a woman who smells like a stinky flower store......totally overpowering ......I like something subtle.....something like Jean Naté~

Good morning!!

Now this is right up my alley!I wear Creeds Green Irish Tweed. It is my "signature fragrance"....
(note to Mo...it was Cary Grants also...) but I also love Clive Christian.....and they are both so expensive that I don't have to worry about anyone usurping my scents....

Call me crazy but it just priorities...some people get a charge out of food and electricity....

Beautiful sights and smells excite my senses....

Tina sent me a "jumbo bottle" of Jean Nate once. I put a sprayer in it and we use it to get the dried bugs of the car windshields....it is also a great flying insect repellent and cockaroach killer!! So thank you again Tina....

I hope everyone has a nice Saddurday...I am going to Austin for a little shopping and a snack at Barton Springs...

Oh! And in a pinch Jennifer you can just dab a little vanilla extract behind your ears!!

Gotta go go go!!

Hi Jodi....if I don't get my fine behine out of here I will never make it!!

Tina...what about Hermes Un Jardin apres la Mousson?? You loved that!!

Really leaving....really...

Jodi...have you tried Coco by Chanel? It is fantastic and the price is under $100.....
Lisa wore Coco.....on my recommendation years ago.....it is great! She wore it for years until she died...

That would be a good one for you to try Jennifer!!

The Shaw cable guy just left after making our 5th wheel wireless. I can now get on the blog with my lap top and not have to use Jack's computer. I am not comfortable sitting at his computer as my legs are dangling and that doesn't work for me. I promised Jack however that I would not spend a lot of time blogging or farming. We are here to get away from the city and technology.

from area 51. Tina - I saw my first lesson but to be honest I didn't like the video very much. I guess I am too elderly. I think I will listen to Dianne and stay my innocent little self.

Michael- Have fun in Austin. That place always makes me think of country songs. What is it like there?

I just love the recommendations and also hearing what everyone wears! :)

We are off to the Putnam Muesum today for a fun family trip. It is about an hour away in Davenport, Iowa. It should be a lot of fun.

Jennifer - My signature perfume is White Diamond and has been for years. I have never worn a lot because like Tina says " .... I can't stand being near a woman who smells like a stinky flower store......totally overpowering ...."
A lot of places here now have a sign saying " We are scent free here". I think there are more people than ever who are allergic to the smell of any perfume.

My husband is back from feeding the fish so I must join him in a delicious cup of English tea (of course for Jack it's coffee) but I love tea in the morning. As far as I can see from out every window are tall trees with the odd glimpse of a wild animal. There is a bear that makes his rounds close to here but he is more afraid of us than we are of him. If he gets too close Jack shoots his shotgun into the air and he "goes a runnin'."

Have a great weekend everyone. See you soon.

Good Morning!

ITEACH: I have always liked L'air du Temps by Nina Ricci..and like JODI I love Chanel No. 5 but haven't bought it for myself in years..we did buy it for my sister for her last birthday, so I was treated to a sample by the salesperson..still love it!

TINA: Beautiful Moanin' this Mornin'..how's Mr T today? I hope he's feeling better..make sure he gets lots and lots of sleep... :D

MICHAEL: Jean Nate?? TINA finally found that for you?? LOL!! If it kills cockroaches..I'm gonna git me some!

JODI: My mom loved White Diamonds! Oh..and she loved white diamonds too.. :D

TINKA: I had a teacher in school who wore Taboo..it was awful..gave me an asthma attack..she thought I was faking not being able to breath an sent me to the principal! I'll never forget that smell..of the perfume..not the principal.. ;)

I'm just glad that salespeople don't automatically spray you with whatever perfume they are selling anymore, like they used to..drove me crazy when they'd say.."would you like to sample this.." and then SQUIRT right in the face..thank goodness that practice ended!

BARB: I loved your blog about the cake..so funny! I think I would have left it that way for a laugh too!

We went out for Chinese food the night of your blog and I just started laughing when I read my fortune from the fortune cookie..it said "Be patient! The Great Wall didn't got builded in a day!"..lol..

Cute blog yesterday too BARB..I sure hope Shirley Goodnest and Marcy will be following close behind all of us!! :)

Gotta get going..first the farms..and then real life..which means bills..ugh..gotta do it though!! Have a nice day everyone! :)

Morning Glories!

My scent is Jergens original. Don't wear much perfume anymore allergic to most. I would like to find one that is just grapefruit scented. One I like that scent and two studies have been done that people who smell like grapefruit are perceived as looking younger. Weird huh?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Saturday Owls.

Jennifer, I wear Estee Lauder's Beautiful exclusively but I never thought of it as my 'signature' scent. My Mom gave me some a long time ago and I really liked it so I just kept buying it. Also, I don't like it when scents get mixed together on my clothes, so another reason to just stick with one scent.

sacBarb said...

Tina, good moaning to you too.

sacBarb said...

Michael, Have fun with your retail therapy. Thanks for the info on Jean Nate. If I ever see cockroaches, I'll give it a try.

sacBarb said...

Jodi, Happy Birthday to the Mr.

sacBarb said...

Tinka, Stay away from that bear.

sacBarb said...

Jennifer2, Have fun at the museum. I see they have a Titanic exhibit. That should be interesting.

sacBarb said...

Zona, I'm glad the stores stopped spritzing people with fragrance too. They usually didn't even give a person a chance to protest before they just sprayed away.

sacBarb said...

Lynn, I didn't know that about grapefruit scent. I used to have a grapefruit scented shower gel. I don't remember looking any younger after I got out of the shower, but I did like the clean scent.

I'm not a scent person. I never wear perfume. Scents really bother me, I guess I have a sensitive nose. Someone should give a class on how to wear perfume though, cause I swear some people bathe in it! There is a woman that works in the post office who has a really strong perfume on. You can smell it as soon as you enter the post office! I don't know how anyone can work with her! She is a lovely lady but she stinks!

I can't believe the price of some perfumes! How much would you guys be willing to pay for a great scent?

Just_Lin said...

Tina Congrats on being first today. You look fresh as a daisy and you don't even stink.

Just_Lin said...

Michael When I was in high school, English Leather became very popular for boys to wear. I still like that scent. I also really liked Canoe. You don't have to take out a loan to buy either of those. LOL

Just_Lin said...

iteach This was a great idea for a blog. Thank you for writing it. I'm one of those people with asthma problems and I can't deal with strong, flowery smells. If I wear anything, it will be Opium. I have a nice black negligee and sometimes I'll spray the Opium in the air and then just wave the negligee through it. When I take a sniff of the bottle, it reminds me of some really good times. Ah, Custard!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Waving at you. It's good to see you here today. I thought maybe you'd put a dab of Spotted Cow behind each ear. Or cawfee. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Tinka Yes. Please stay your innocent little self. That is the Tink that we know and love.

Zona If I lived there, I'd probably never see the outdoors during the summer.

Just_Lin said...

LynnD Jergens Original is still my favorite lotion of all time and I still use it.

Just_Lin said...

SacBarb I guess a shower gel with a prune sent wouldn't be too big of a seller. Amazing the scents they market, though.

Just_Lin said...

Shirley I can't see paying $100 for a perfume. I haven't bought my own in a long time, though. It's a good item to put on a Christmas wish list.

iTeach: Never wear perfume!

Zona: It's gorgeous here in Palm Springs today, and will be tomorrow too. And I escaped a cool and very rainy day up in the Bay Area! Yay!

Just_Lin said...

Bear Enjoy your desert. Yes, there was a steady rain here all night long and most of the morning. It's not rained this afternoon but the wind keeps kicking up and there's some ominous looking clouds in the distance.

Speaking of the Titanic...I used to have a cologne called le Titanic, après l'iceberg....

I didn't wear it much...I wore it on a cruise once...but every time anyone would get a whiff of me they'd scream and jump in a life boat....

sacBarb said...

J/L, Love the green eyes on your avatar, but why is one bigger than the other?????
