Martha: To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
Maxine: Buy instant mashed potato mix. Keeps in the cupboard for up to a year.
Martha: When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking tin, use a bit of dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
Maxine: Go to the bakery! Hell, they'll even decorate it for you!
Martha: Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
Maxine: Celery? Never heard of it!
Martha: Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
Maxine: Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink! All your pains go away!
Martha: Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
Maxine: Left over wine??????? HELLO!!!!!!

Hello and good morning to all who fly in today... :)
We had some incredible weather here in Louisville last night. Churchill Downs got hit hard. My son lives right down from there but he was in Chicago. What a crazy night! yikes!
MOrning Glories,
I agree with Maxine on the lime tip. What a waste rubbing a lime on your head.
Waving at Iteach and Bebbi!
I have group today so I better get hopping. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning Shirley! :)
Happy Thursday Owls.
Ya gotta love Maxine. I thought this was too good not to share. I'm glad you liked it.
Lynn, I so agree with you about wasting a lime. :)
I just got back from getting my first tattoo. I had permanent eye liner done. It's hard to say if I like it yet because the eyes are a little swollen. The swelling should go away in a few days and I'll be able to tell better then.
OMG! You are crazy! No way would I get a tatto, especially around my eyes! Did it hurt? Why not just stop wearing eyeliner? You are braver than me SacBarb!
Did you get the color black? Please report back on how you think it looks, it sounds very interesting!
OMG- you are way braver than I am! First of all I would never get a tatoo~but my eyes?? Holy crap, my biggest fear would be that the guy would sneeze or something and I would have a permanent crooked, or ached eyeline!~ LOL
*arched*
OK, First of all it didn't hurt because he put a topical anesthetic on first. He is a young hunky guy and his hand was very steady. I chose brown because I think black would be too harsh for this old broad. I did take three Tylenol before the anesthetic wore off though, just in case.
Brown sounds like a good choice. He was a hunk? Even better!
Iteach, Yes he is a hunk and very sweet. He was also very touchy feely (not inappropriately) and always asking me how I was doing and if I was OK. A friend and I went together and he gave us both a rose when we were done. We have to go back in a month for a 'touch-up' and I am going to try to get a pic of him.
Good night and sweet dreams everyone. Thanks for all the comments. Going to rest these swollen eyes.
Barb: LOL! Like Shirley, I love Maxine!
