picture i am half way over my "photo fear"
this picture is not so much about all seeing
me, it is more for me, to get over my fear
and believe in me entirely!
i am a strong believer in my beliefs, i have
always stood by what i say, or write, i am
outspoken, yet understanding, and try
not be judgmental
i always tell people to write what they feel
believe in yourself, as if you believe in you
then all will believe the same, if i say this
than i must do for myself as well
photos of myself have never been my
favorite, i guess its the idea of me looking
back at me, and saying "yep thats me"
its like reality, staring right at you
my family knows this "photo fear" i have,
they live it all the time, when family
photos are taken, they always know i try to
go in the back and put everyone in front of me
so my nephew put me to the test, he
situated me with melissa (his girlfriend)
and asked her to get real close, when i felt
her besides me, my heart grew and i smiled
and knew that it would be ok!
he saw the picture thru the camera and
said "perfect" he was so right, what amazes
me the most is my nephew at the age of 25
gets me! totally understands me! and carries
me thru!
so there you have it!

Carol.. I used to hate having my picture taken... (well since I have gained so much weight)
I look HUGE in pictures.. Oh yeah.. I am Big...
But then i have looked back in my photo albums and it is all my hubby with the pets.. I don't have one picture of me with my Furbabies.. but tons of him.. I decided I need to be remembered too...
So now I will pose for pictures...
That is a beautiful picture... you need to pose for more.... we want to see your beautiful smilimg face ...and those beautiful Blue eyes!!!!

I too have a picture phobia...I rarely look like myself in them...I have no idea why...just not photogenic I guess. It's not all in my mind either, others have commented on it as well.

I think in order to take a good picture you have to like yourself. If you hate yourself (as I do) it will show in the picture.

Yeah the picture thing is a hard one for me too! I hate having my picture taken. It is not that I think I am ugly but I think I just look dumb and I really hate it since my weight gain.
I will do the picture thing at family reunions and what not, but is just makes me so uncomfortable. I start sweating and worry at my clothes. Tugging and pulling them into place like I am going to hide that extra weight! NOT
I tell myself I am what I am but that little voice says you could be better. Yikes I would just like to beat the hell out of that voice! LOL
I often wonder what other people see when they look at my pictures. Do they see what I see or is it a totally different person that is perceived in their viewing. Hmmm If a tree falls in the forest does anyone hear it?

Iteach - at this card clinic - they set up six tables - each has a different card - I won't know WHAT we will be making until I get there.. But they supply everything to make the cards (except your tape).

I have to wait until 9:30 for the Vet to arrive. Thanks Iteach for expressing concern for Tango. These two doggies are so precious to me. I don't even like to think of the fact that Tango is almost eleven and may not have that many more years left. I will wait and hope it is nothing.
Mek - I am like you. I like to be in as many family pictures as everyone else. We are a big
"picture taking" family. Even the little ones know that when the camera is pointed at you, you smile. My youngest at almost is year is already doing that. I like to be in some pictures. Otherwise it looks like there was a party but I wasn't there. My sister and I used to laugh at the fact that when we looked back at old pictures where we didn't think we looked so great we are amazed at how young we looked or how good we looked. My youngest daughter hated her grad picture. I couldn't convince her she looked beautiful in it. Now she looks at it and says "Hey I looked pretty good in that picture didn't I?". So maybe that's an idea. Take the pictures, put them away for a year and then get them out. You might be amazed at how good you looked.
Vet just called. Must run.

I am like you. I hate having my picture taken. MEK wanted pics when I was visiting her, and so I just goofed off a lot. Horrible horrible pics that I hate, but they are hers. Some of our pics are good, mostly of her! I on the other hand deleted all the pics of me I hated. It's all about control with me. I want to have the option of using the delete button. When someone else uses their camera you don't get to delete their pics. So just about all of my pics on myspace are self portraits. Then I can delete them when I want. I'm getting better about letting people take my pic but I always feel all ooogie in my tummy when it's happening.
I just need to get over it.

Thank you to those who expressed concern for Tango. I am too tired to list the names but I have them in my head. The Vet doesn't know what is wrong with her leg but was concerned when she heard a serious heart murmur. Tango's heart was beating 220 beats a minute. She was given relaxants for today and tomorrow they will x-ray her foot and her heart. I am very concerned about her. She will be eleven in August. I will write about her after the xrays.

After my mom passed away, and I realized how few photos we had of her in her later years, I promised myself to try and get in the picture more often. As you said, babysteps.

Well I am half way through the downstairs dog hair patrol! Crap I could build about 4 more dogs with the DNA I am vacuuming up right now!
Anyone have suggestions for a dog that has really bad B. O. Bathing does not help! She is the smelliest dog I have ever had. Changed her diet no help. The vet says it is just her! She does have weird fur almost oily at times.
Is their a product out their I may not know about?? I hope Amicus pops in maybe she can suggest something.

Had a friend that had a chow, a breed infamous for being smelly especially here in Hawaii where it is always warm.
As long as you know that there are no medical reasons (A bad tooth, Impacted anal glands, Diet, etc....) this is a mixture that helped him. I couldn't remember the ration but found it online.
An Oatmeal based pet shampoo is easy on the skin and coat if you bathe often.....
Amicus do you concur?
Smelly Dog - Vinegar Rinse for Smelly Dog Syndrome
* Bathe dog well in a good dog shampoo
* Rinse thoroughly, get all the soap out
* Mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar to a gallon of water, wet the dog well with this potion and leave on for 10 minutes.
* Rinse dog well.
* This last step is optional: Use a good pet hair conditioner of the type you leave in the coat and towel dry the dog.

Jodi: That Les Mis song I put on MySpace is in memory of my Cosette. I lost her two years ago this month, and I still miss her with all my heart.
Lynn: The odor and oily coat can be symptoms of a skin problem so I recommend getting a second opinion from a board certified dermatologist. Unfortunately, it's been my experience that general practice vets aren't the best at diagnosing skin and coat conditions. If you have a vet school nearby, that's where I would go.
Turtle: Oatmeal shampoo is used to treat dry skin and coat, because it's a natural humectant. Using it on an oily coat can worsen the skin condition since there's already a problem with excess moisture. The vinegar rinse works well on skin problems like yeast infections, but without seeing the skin and coat, I'm hesitant to recommend it. Topical treatments like these have specific purposes so a correct diagnosis needs to be made first.

Until the actual cause is accurately diagnosed, the symptoms will continue to return. Unfortunately, a lot of clients aren't willing to spend the money on specialists and tests so providing temporary relief is the best I can do for their dogs.

OK...the scoop in a nutshell...I was offered a perm position today. It isn't the one that I really wanted, but it is a perm. spot just the same. I will start in the new area (same building) on June 8th, but they are making it post-dated to May 28th so my health insurance will kick in on June 1st.! It is only $2 an hour more, so I need to stay at the hell hole at night! But...when I walked in the hell hole, the owner pulled me asisde and told me 2 things...1. I am the only one there that has a clue and gives a shit, so he wants me to train the new people he hired. and 2. when I get my paycheck tomorrow, it will be reflecting the RAISE he gave me! Woo HOO!! Maybe now, I will be able to break even each month!!
I said yesterday, what a difference a year made in my life...and not in a good way. And now I say what a difference a day made.
