by Tina~in_ut

There isn't a video to really watch.....but this is one of the only Johnny Mathis versions I could find. This is the version Dad played Easter morning. This is for you, Dad~

Happy Easter!

TINA - The video wouldn't play here. Something about embedding being disabled. I will watch it on YouTube!

Happy Easter everyone. Tina, it played for me. Beautiful song and I love Johnny Mathis. Great tribute to your dad.

Jodi, glad you had fun at Lois's this weekend. Quick trip. I think u r working today. Have a nice afternoon with your family.

Mary, I saw you on FB doing karaoke last night. Today is the day of that yummy Mexican dinner you are fixing. What all are you doing for it?

JL and Barb...where are you? Quiet day on the blog yesterday. Hope everyone has a nice day

I wanted to thank you all for your thoughtfulness~ I received your cards when I got home from California on Thursday and the beautiful plant and statue yesterday. It really means a lot to me~ THANK YOU~

HAPPY EASTER, HOOTERS!

Tina You are so very welcome. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you and your family. Thank you for today's blog. Perfect!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Did you get Sam a hollow chocolate bunny? I used to absolutely love those.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Are you cooking today? :) My plans have changed. I'm now going out to an early dinner with my friends, John and Jane. I'll cook my pot roast tomorrow.

Just_Lin said...

I didn't see Mary's karaoke post. I'll have to go look for it.

sacBarb said...

Tina, thanks for posting this vid. I love Johhny Mathis.

I'm glad the plant arrived. We weren't sure exactly when you would be home, but we knew you had to be back to work on Friday. You and your family have been in all our thoughts and prayers. ♥

sacBarb said...

Happy Easter everyone. I am not cooking today. The family is going to Olive Garden for an early dinner and celebration of my Grandson's 23rd birthday, which is really tomorrow.

Tina~in_ut said...

OMG.....Olive Garden sounds so good!!! I'm alone today....at werk....Hubby is on his way to Pittsburgh for the week....the twins went to spend the weekend with my mom.....the oldest brat is spending time with his books so he can graduate in a month... so I'm going to werk overtime today. BUT NOW I WANT OG!!!!~ What to do...what to do!!!~ :D

TINA - Go with the food ;-)

JustL, Jim & I did do some Karaoke last night. Jim hasn't been able to sing for a long time because of his horrible horsey/froggy throat.t I mad him go to the Dr for a complete physical and battery of tests. They gave him some small contraption with meds to spray into his throat. and of course told him to quit smoking, which he has no intention of doing of course lol! His throat and breathing is so much better! He was able to sing 3 songs without being winded or coughing. He is still waiting for test results from his stress test.

Tina,You are precious to me even though we don't communicate much. MUAH!!!
Dianne,I did make a big Mexican meal today. Brownies are now in the oven. Sorry about the address mess up, but that darn "B" looks like an "8" to ME LOL!

I burned my naughty finger today! Hurt like a MOFO! At least I forgot about my bone spur in my heel for a few minutes lol!

I am going to make an appointment with a Wellness center tomorrow to have some acupuncture done on my shoulder, neck and foot. I had NO pain due to arthritis while in the Caribbean! js!!!

Just_Lin said...

Barb Love OG! And there is no cleanup after dinner. Win/win.

Just_Lin said...

Tina It's Easter! Take yourself to OG!

Just_Lin said...

Mary I was actually hoping for a vid of you singing.

Just_Lin said...

I actually ironed a couple of things today. Annually is about how often I iron, not necessarily on Easter. Instead of looking for colored eggs, I searched the back yard for dog poops to pick up. LOL I'll be leaving in about an hour for a nice dinner. Yay! It's not OG but it's a local nice restaurant and I know it will be good.

Dianne/Denver said...

IRON....what's that? I didn't know people still did that today. I'd be searching for the iron but not in the backyard. Lol. JL...hope u had a great dinner. What did u have to eat?

Barb, what did u have too? I go to OG a lot and like it. I go there for lunch the most although my granddaughters really kike it. We went last week as it was buy one get one free...great deal.

Tina...go out to eat. Remember how you love that lemon cake?

We went to the mountains (14 of us) to a little place we like up there. It's just a small place but they give us our own room and separate checks and the food is good. I had steak and shrimp. It was pretty good. Steak was a little well done for me. My ex SIL came with his fiancée and my granddaughters. I did receive a phone call from my son today. He also emailed a picture to me of my grandsons. I guess that's something.

Jodi..how did your day turn out? It sounds like you've had a very busy weekend.

Mary, I'm glad you got Jim to the dr. Men are so funny about it. I hope the meds keep working on his throat. I sure wish he'd give up that darn smoking but guess he's been doing it for many years.

I'm snacking on a Carmel Easter bunny. It's a very mini one but good.

Tina~in_ut said...

well crap.....it's 11:40pm....i werked 3 hrs of OT....I'm just now eating dinner....taquitos and guac.....load of wash in the washer that needs to go in the dryer so I can pack!!! I fly out tomorrow night...Mom doesn't want to be alone. I think I'll have to take her to OG~

My sister took her and my twins to the Corona del Mar to sit on the bench and look out at the beach like my mom and dad used to. When they got home, the neighbors had delivered a lemon tree in a pot with cards hanging from the branches with little notes from each of them. My mom just burst out crying. Isn't that the sweetest thing? I sent pics of the plant and statue you guys sent me...and mom cried again at that, too~ We are all having a dickens of a time getting thank you cards written....this just sucks! If dad weren't already dead, I'd kill him!!!~ (I know y'all know what I mean!) :)~

Dianne/Denver said...

Tina, now we need to all pray for your mom. Gosh, she's prayed for all of us and our families over the years. I feel so sad for her. I'm glad you are able to go out there and be with her.

Well, guac is good but it's not your lemon cake. At least your laundry isn't for all those kids anymore. Look how that home work load has cut down :)

Tina~in_ut said...

Di~ she'd love that~ The more prayers the better~

I got a call from one of the priests here yesterday who said that he was saying the Easter vigil mass for the Carmelite nuns and going to say it for my dad. Another priest friend of ours said mass at the kids' high school on the day of dad's funeral for my dad AND mom~ He even wanted to try to say his mass at the same time as the funeral mass. Some people are just too sweet~

These taquitos are just not cutting it.....definitely going to OG on Tuesday with my sister...AND mom, if she'll go~ :D

Just_Lin said...

Tina Sorry you didn't get your OG fix tonight but it gives you something to look forward to on Tuesday. Your mom's neighbors are so sweet to give her that lemon tree with the notes. What a lovely thing that is.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I had minestrone soup, prime rib, baked potato, creamed spinach, and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, and coffee. Oh, and I had 2 Bloody Marys, too. It was all quite good.

Dianne/Denver said...

JL....yum, I love your whole dinner. I really like creamed spinach..actually any spinach. I think you and I could eat together any time!

Tina, that's really nice of the priests. I hope all those prayers will help your mom as time moves on....all of your family.

Tina~in_ut said...

j/l....I want the spinach and choc cake~ *mouth watering*

sacBarb said...

Tina, Definitely go to OG. I had the ravioli 12.95 buy one and get one to take home. I took home spaghetti. It was YUMMY and I have one for tomorrow.

I put your MOM on the prayer list at my church for today's Mass. The church was packed, so a LOT of prayers went up for her today. It was literally standing room only.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - My day turned out fine. I worked til 10 am. I then delivered Sam's Easter bag to her store and picked up a hydrangea for my MIL's birthday. She loved it! Dinner was good, but the best part of the day was the sunshine and warmth!! I spent a lot of it out on my in-law's deck just soaking it in!

Jodi said...

TINA - I totally know what you mean. It can be a daunting task. You are a good daughter to go spend time with your Mom (I seem to remember you were Dad's favorite!!) and I will continue to send prayers for your Mom and your family! I hope the Lutheran ones are ok ;) Love u 4 ♥

Jodi said...

Waving a wing at MARY, SLIN & BARB!

Gotta go spit shine for work!

Mary/MI said...

Tina, how can you like the OG after eating in Italy? LOL! Italy sure spoiled me for any pasta here! We took a tour to the Tuscany area and ate at a wine tasting farm. We had loads of wine and fresh made pasta.I will never forget that awesome taste!
I am still trying to find goat cheese that even comes close to Frances :). Oh well, I digress lol!!

JL, yummy meal! I would have to skip the "creamy" spinach, or anything creamy, since my gall bladder surgery KWIM??

Waving back at you Jodi~~

Dianne,pass the caramel bunny please!!

Tina, btw, I have always loved your "sense of humor" especially where your parents were concerned. I have to admit, I often tear up when I think of your Mom lately. I will send up my Protestant prayers :)

Just_Lin said...

Tina Take yourself to OG and stop drooling. It's unbecoming. ;)

Just_Lin said...

Barb I need to try to get to OG while they still have that special going on. Such a deal. Meanwhile, I'm cooking my pot roast today and it smells great!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Sounds like you had a lovely time soaking in the rays. You so deserve some R and R. You are always working or on the run. Wish I had your energy.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I think you're right. We seem to have similar tastes. I think if we cruised together we'd spend all our time in the dining room or the casino. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Mary Speaking of casinos...any trips planned for Vegas? Glad to hear Jim's throat is doing better. I know how hard it is to want to quit smoking. I had no real desire until I watched the movie "The Insider" and I got so angry at the fact they those folks were knowingly killing me and they didn't care. I realized I was giving them permission to do that every time I lit up. It really pissed me off. I'm glad it did.

Barbara_in_COviaWA said...

Hey Everyone. I had breakfast with Miss Dianne today, and she asked me to stop by. So here I am :-) I'm looking forward to meeting many of you in June! I will try to stop by and chat with you guys more often. Tina....Sorry to hear about your father (((hugs)))

Jodi said...

SLIN - One word....COFFEE!! Ha!!!

Jodi said...

BARB - Thanks for stopping by!! I'm really looking forward to finally meeting u :)

Barbara_in_COviaWA said...

I can't wait to meet everyone Jodi! I'm so looking forward to it :-)

Just_Lin said...

Barbara in WA Looking forward to meeting you, too.

Dianne/Denver said...

Yea Barbara so glad you stopped by. Now make it a habit so you can get to know these crazy gals before you meet them. They are pretty darn fun. You will fit in perfect.

sacBarb said...

Happy Tuesday. I was up early and already have two loads of laundry washed, dried and put away. I'm trying to get ahead of the housework before I leave for San Diego next Wednesday. Todd and Vicki are going to Hawaii and I am going to stay with the pup. I will be there almost two weeks. Not a bad gig! Of course, Hawaii would be better, but I'll take SD as a second choice.

sacBarb said...

Hello Barbara. Good to see you in the nest.

sacBarb said...

Waving a wing to you all. I must get back to my tasks. BBL

Barbara_in_COviaWA said...

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a great day. Mine is quiet so far. Although I did get the dishwasher run and photos uploaded to FB. Now I need to start on some laundry. Which I don't want to do. But I will.

Just_Lin said...

Hi, HOoters! I spent most of the day down the coast in southern Half Moon Bay picking out river rocks to put in a garden area we are making in front of the new front porch/deck, then to a nursery to get a few plants. Also had the handyman put up 4 smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarm in the house so I can get final okay from building inspectors for the new front deck. What do smoke alarms have to do with a front deck, you ask? Absolutely nothing but it's the new city requirement.

Jodi said...

BARB IN WA - Waving a wing! Will be starting laundry soon. I'd rather do it tonight than on my day off tomorrow.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Hopefully we won't scare her away ;)

Jodi said...

BARB - How nice of you to pup sit! I'd take Hawaii, too!

Jodi said...

Crazy week here. A gal that is a store leader lost her husband to cancer last Friday. She trained at my store years ago. Just the sweetest thing. I call her the Windex Lady! Always flying around cleaning something. And then I found out yesterday that a family that lived down the street lost their son on Saturday. He od'd on heroin. My heart is breaking for my friend. So I have 2 wakes to go to this week. Life is short...

Jodi said...

TINA - Did you make it OG today?

Jodi said...

SLIN - Your new garden area sounds lovely. Can't wait to see pics!

Mary/MI said...

Yay,, Barbara is in da house!
Those of you who have not met her, she is a doll!

JL, no immediate plans for Vegas. Jim's coughing was so bad, that I told him he couldn't go anymore lol! I am sure he will go anyhoo!

Just to let you know... I am fricken miserable right now! Why, you ask?? I am having a colonascopy tomorrow at 6::15 am and am trying to stay close to the bathroom! This house has one bathroom, 3 men and ME!! I already warned them! No dawdling, reading or doing the crossword puzzle!! I am pooped lol!! I am not a bing liquid drinker and wondering how I am going to get that big ass pitcher of poop-ass-activator in me! lol oooop gottah goooooooo!!!

Jodi said...

MARY - I don't mean to laugh, but bwahahahaha!!! I hope you "make it"!!

Mary/MI said...

I made it Hodi...that time lol! I just had the last glass of the 64oz I had to drink!! Can you say *woosh*

I can't wait until I can eat tomorrow!

I went to the Wellness Center in Lansing for acupuncture on my shoulder and heel. I can't believe that horrible pain is gone! It was so bad it brought me to tears! My neck is not quite there yet, but maybe the next treatment. No heel pain, a little shoulder ache and some red tender butt hole..all is good lol!

Jodi said...

MARY - I need to get poked, but for real, too! I just don't know where to go here. Glad u made it thru your prep. Good luck tomorrow!

Just_Lin said...

Mary Good luck tomorrow. You must be pooped for real. ;)

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Wow, two sad stories. You are right that life is short and we never know what's around the corner. We have to cherish every day that we have and those we hold dear.

Mary/MI said...

Jodi, I didn't scroll up far enough. I missed you post about the two deaths! How terribly sad!! I give thanks for every day! When I am on the road I always start with "Lord protect me from myself and from others on the road! We have had so many accidents lately. Mostly people not paying attention. A couple were intoxicated and heading in the wrong direction killing others!

JL. I remember Half Moon Bay! It was beautiful! Beverly and I were there on our last trip to Cali.

I am so sleepy, but am afraid to lay down! I sorely need some "depends!" LOL!!!!

Just_Lin said...

Mary Hopefully you'll be on "empty" soon. Oh, and I remember the pics you posted of you and Beverly in Half Moon Bay sticking your toes in the Pacific Ocean.

Dianne/Denver said...

Jodi, so sorry about your friends losses. It will be a sad week.

Mary, good for you doing your test. I'm two years past due. I'm not a drinker either. It's actually been 7 years. Some drs same 10....not my dr. Some day. It seems like they would simplify the process as time goes on.

Boy JL...you are a busy bee today with all your yard work. I don't care for yard work at all. You are right...you and I would be gambling and eating on a cruise!! Eating at the fancy restaurants on board. Sure u don't want to go with me?

Barb, how nice that you are the dog sitter. I think I'd rather go to Hawaii too San Diego is a nice second choice. Will you have a car while you are there?

Barb on Wa...did you find anything interesting to do today? Maybe it was a good chill out day after your travel last week.

Tina...saw on FB that you went to O G..good.

Took my granddaughters to dinner tonight and the youngest one didn't like where we ended up going do she sat in the car. Her mom ended up coming to get her and Kayla and I stayed to eat. Em is a brat sometimes and tonight was one of them. She wanted mom to stop and get her dinner but she wouldn't so I guess a hot pocket was dinner. Grrr

So i was all excited to say I went to OG tonight.....but Mary grossed me out~ Nasty ol' wench~ Hubby did all that crap in December (for his birthday) and after it was all said and done....the doc tole him that he wasn't even all cleaned out~ luckily he didn't have to doo it all over again~ Wouldn't that be funny if YOU did?!~ :)~

Thanks EVERYONE for the prayers~ I told my mom today that everyone was praying for her and she was touched.....said she sure could use them~ (Mary....I showed her your comment on FB....she smiled)

Thanks, Barb~

Going to see the in-laws tomorrow....they were out of town for the funeral....at another funeral for their BIL~ When they got home, they found out a cousin died, too~ NOT a good month for our family~ The last time I was there was with my mom and dad....this time it will just be me and mom~ *sigh*

On a good note.....cheese ravioli, salad, breadsticks, two diet cokes, and lemon cream cake~ :D

Jodi said...

SLIN - I learned that lesson long ago! I guess Sam has, too. This is her status update yesterday. "Congratulations! If you are reading this, that means you woke up this morning, are able to see and comprehend things, and above all - alive! Complaining is a waste. Have a damn good day, folks!"

Jodi said...

MARY - Thank you ♥

DIANNE - It will be hard to see my friend tomorrow :(

TINA - Nice 69! Oooooh, and that lemon cake....yum!!!

Jodi said...

A small request please. I just got a message from LOIS. Our friend "Little Sue" took a turn for the worse last night and they don't think she is going to make it. Please pray that she finds peace ♥

Jodi said...

I call her the "Energizer Bunny"! She was recently diagnosed with cancer, and I truly thought if anyone could beat this, she could. LOIS met her thru her work with The United Way. One of healthiest people I know. Again, a reminder that life is too short ♥

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I don't care for yard work, either. I'm not doing any of it. I'm just making decisions and supervising. Too bad I can't join you are your cruise but I'm considering this year to be the Year of the House. I'm putting money into the house instead of cruising. Cruising is more fun.

Just_Lin said...

Tina I'm glad you made it to OG. I've never had their lemon cake but I will be sure to try it now,

Just_Lin said...

HOdi It sounds like Sam has the right idea. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our problems that we forget to enjoy each day as the gift that it is.

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi Everyone. What's up???

Not much with me. Went to WW and lunch with my friend that had the surgery. We had a great visit catching up.

JL..I like the way u do yard work. That's how I'd do it too. Supervise!! Boo Hoo. I want u to cruise with me. Louis is so busy taking pictures, napping or gambling he won't even know I'm gone with you.

Jodi...I know was a hard day for you. Thinking of you.

Tina..it was nice to see a picture of your mom smiling on FB today.

Hi to Mary Barb and Barb from Washington. Hope you all had a good day .

Jodi said...

Thanks DIANNE ♥

Jodi said...

Yesterday LOIS ended up leaving at about 10 am to go pick "Little Sue"'s son up at college in Iowa and take him to Peoria to be with his Mom. I asked LOIS's hubby and daughter to keep me updated, but I haven't heard anything.

Jodi said...

Off to "hoist and rinse"!

Have a great day HOoters ♥

Jodi said...

Talked to LOIS on break this morning and our friend Little Sue lost her battle early this morning. I hope the angels can keep up with her!!

Dianne/Denver said...

Jodi...very sad about you fried Sue. This world is too sad sometimes

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Its hard to comprehend. She was only just diagnosed about 3/22.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi (((HUGS))) to you and Lois. So sorry about Little Sue. Wow, that sure happened fast. Did her son get there in time?

Jodi said...

SLIN - Yes he did.

Jodi said...

I'm also thankful that LOIS got to say goodbye <3
