Happy Halloween

Halloween, yay! So fun, I celebrated last night at a family party, here is a pic of me and Kermit!

Owl Manor is all decorated and ready for our arrival. Shirley has graciously prepared a wonderful Halloween meal for us, it can be found to the right. So make sure you dig in and enjoy, and if the tasty testicles are somewhat hard, it only means, she took them out of the water to soon! lol

Halloween would not be complete without a little Monster Mash!  This version is a little freaky but I thought it was cool.. (I think I used this version last year)

Hope all has a great Halloween!

Sexy, Halloween....

Halloween, is only days away, it is such a fun time. Even if you have a bad day, you see the children all dressed up in their costumes collecting all their candy and you just have to smile. The IS's are having a Halloween Party at their house, and I will certainly be there to take pics of them and their friends in costume.

So lets get Halloween started. I thought I would go back to the olden days of our blog, when porn was number one! and BTW, this is not for children...

Raw and Real

ups and downs
this is life
ya never know when it will change
its like the wind
east to west
north to south
and on it goes

one life gone, the suffering over
finally she is at peace
to watch life go
can break ones spirit
hold hands, whisper gently
say goodbye

family is left with a huge void
one never forgets
your heart will remember
the void continues always

no words can soothe
only silence can help
when the grieving is raw
its ok
peace has come

~ Ready... Set... Dance! ~

by Tina~in_ut

Hubby told me about this contest.  I hadn't heard of it, but it made me chuckle when he explained it to me.  This is from Yahoo!:

“Ready… Set… Dance!” combines Yahoo!’s vast scale and insights with Electus’ creative genius to provide the Yahoo! Music audience with a unique, branded, high energy, interactive dance competition experience—seamlessly integrated with State Farm’s brand message targeted at a young adult audience. It’s an extension of State Farm’s “Why Agent?” brand campaign.

Aimed at tapping into the national obsession with TV dance shows and Web videos, each episode features two contestants selected during a series of entertaining auditions. Once chosen, the contestants will get a random phone call from "RSD!" hostess Adrienne Bailon—anytime or anyplace—and must immediately break into their dance routines for a chance at “Ready, Set, Dance!” fame and fortune. Each week, viewers can vote on their favorite dancer, and winners will receive $10,000 in each of the six dance contests.

by Shirley

Some one liners you will either laugh at or groan at. Enjoy!

Could you drive any better if I shoved that cell phone up your ass?
For Sale: Parachute. Only used once, never opened, small stain.
Multitasking means screwing up several things at once.
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes. (this could be any of us)
Reality is a crutch for people who can't handle drugs.
Save your breath. You'll need it to blow up your date!
Sex is like air; it's not important unless you aren't getting any.
Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windshield.
Shin: a device for finding furniture in the dark. (this one is for Zona)
Some drink at the fountain of knowledge. Others just gargle.
The sex was so good that even the neighbors had a cigarette.
There's too much blood in my caffeine system. (for Jodi and Lynn)
Very funny Scotty, now beam down my clothes. (I love this one!!)
You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me and not you!
Your gene pool could use a little chlorine.

He who fishes in other man's well often catches crabs

GENERATION WE........ARE YOU READY?

by Lynn D

Generation WE: The Movement Begins... from Generation We on Vimeo.

I read about this generational movement a month ago and I really believe that this is the real reason many politicians on both sides are worried. Change is coming, it is unavoidable. This generation does not believe in partisan politics, does not believe in religious affiliations and strongly believes in the rights of all races and income levels. They volunteer, and have studied the effects of pollution on our world. They have been raised to accept all people of all colors and faiths. This is what I want for my children and grandchildren!  What about you?

~ Shane ~

by Tina~in_ut

The last couple of NASCAR races, a lot of the drivers and crew members have been sending prayers and good wishes to Shane Hmiel (pronounced meal) and his family.  His name was slightly familiar, but I couldn't quite place him.  I googled him and that's when I remembered the 2005 Busch Series race at Bristol.  He wrecked Dale Jarrett.  It wasn't so much that he did that, but what happened afterwards.  Dale was a veteran driver and such a gentleman!  And I should know!  He's been nice EVERY single time I've stalked him!  Anyway, Shane flipped Dale off on national television.  Such class!  He was fined $10,000 and docked 25 points.  Later, Shane would be suspended from NASCAR for the rest of the season for failing his second drug test.  In 2006, he failed his third drug test and was banned from NASCAR for good.  It was also revealed that he had bipolar disorder.

Shanes dad, Steve, is a respected member of the Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing team in the NASCAR series.  He was at the race in Fontana, CA when he got word that Shane was in a racing accident.  Shane was driving a USAC Silver Crown car in Indianapolis.  The car rolled perpendicular to the racetrack and slammed into the concrete retaining wall flush on its roll cage. (There is video of the crash on the internet, but I just couldn't post it.  It's a nasty crash!)  Most thought there was no way Shane could have survived.  When they were finally able to get to him in the car, he was unresponsive but alive.  At the hospital, he was put into a drug induced coma to reduce the swelling in his brain.  They couldn't even address his other injuries until they got that under control.

After the first 24 hours, by which time his family was able to get to Indy, he was in surgery for injuries to his neck and back.  Since the crash on October 9th, he's had another surgery, but his third had to be postponed because he caught pneumonia.  This kid is only 30 years old.  I can't imagine going thru all that at such a young age.  It makes me want to beat some sense into the kid.  I guess though, that's just what happened.

Get the Beat, and Go with it!

This song is originally from an a Italian Singer "Renato Carosone" he made this song "Tu vuo fa l'americano (We speak no americano) in 1956. An Australian Group "Yolanda be Cool" samples his song in this techno dance version. I know it might not be for everyone, but I totally love it and get the beat, and truly just wanna fist pump all over the house. What I love the most, is when hip young artists take old songs, and make it their own. I am sure in 1956 Mr Carosone would have never thought that in 2010 young adults would be dancing to a sample of his song in all the clubs all over the world. And I think that is so cool.

~ Commercial? ~

by Tina~in_ut

Click here to see the Sprint "commercial" on The Closer.

If you are like me, you don't watch commercials except during the Super Bowl or the Daytona 500, but one day, I was watching The Closer and BAM!  There was a "commercial" DURING the show for the Sprint Overdrive.  It was so funny to see it that I watched it again.  The techie guy was "selling" the product.

I guess in today's world of Tivo, where you can tape/fast forward your shows or even pause them, people just don't watch the commercials anymore.  If you've ever watched The Closer, you know that Brenda Lee Johnson LOVES chocolate.  She has a drawer full.  Lately they have been mentioning Hershey's specifically.  It didn't register with me that they were a show sponsor until I saw the Sprint piece.

Have you noticed any other "commercials" within a show?

Color, Cut, New You!

Time for a well needed change, so on Sunday, as I sat in the gray chair, you know the one, that swivels and goes up and down on command. I told my hair stylist to get rid of the highlights, and cut, cut, cut. She looked at me with those eyes that say "your kidding me right" and nope I was not kidding at all. I have been getting my hair highlighted for several years now, and truth be told, I was totally bored with it.

Away she went to stir up a new concoction for me, which she called lowlights. Two hours later, I was a brunette with some hardly seen streaks of different browns and a cut which is short in the back and longer in the front. My bangs swoop to the side with ease. I looked at myself with pride, as I was very happy with the results.

When I walked out I felt as if I was a new person, starting on new beginnings. I do not feel any attachment to any hair style I might get, so I new do is just what was needed for a new me.

I recommend it all. Try it, you are still you, its just the look that would be different, and I gotta tell, it feels great to look in the mirror and see a new me.

Open Letter to all Young Adults and Teens

Growing up is one of the hardest things you will have do. In school you are taught many things on many subjects, but there is one thing you must learn yourself that is not in text book form. Growing up. You learn as you grow, and at a young age, you have a lot more of growing, so the learning comes slow. It is your journey thru life, your stepping stone to the future. And at a young age, unfortunately you are not thinking of the journey or the future, you are in the moment. When some of those moments are so dire, you must know that you are not alone. And even tho, the world around you seems to be closing down, it is certainly not true.

Think of yourself and the good that is you, give yourself the honor of looking into the future to see what you can be. Step back from the moment and look around you, you will see the world is moving and going in a direction that you should follow. No matter what some might tell you, your life is worth it, and the moment you are in, is just a passing part of your journey.

When that old so familiar bully appears, think of he/she as a coward, who can only fight the weak. The bully is there because he/she can do it and will. It is up to you to stand tall and ignore the harsh words, turn your back and see them for what they are, a coward hovering over its allowed prey. Once the back is turned the bully will see what you see and retreat.

I can't imagine what its like growing up and not knowing my sexuality. The confusion that must come with this, must be truly overwhelming. And once you find yourself you are taught by our society to be embarrassed by the thought of being gay, lesbian, transgender, bi, different. Well I am here to tell you that its not so. What you feel is real and it is certainly ok. Who you love and what you love, should never matter to anyone but you. Do not feel that you are wrong, love comes in many different ways and it must be embraced when you find it. Honesty must start with you, and then it continues down the line. You will then see, that you, and who you are is the person you should be. Your acceptance will be a welcomed home coming. Suicide is never the answer, its to final, it will not allow you live that journey that you so deserve.

Please do me a favor, in that moment of desperation when you think by ending it all, it will make it all go away.  Find someone to talk with, a stranger, a counselor, a family member, they will help you, they will understand. You might ask, "how does she know this". I have been thru it, in my dire of times as a teen, I have been right where you are. I have tried what your thoughts are bringing you to. And I sought help, from the most unexpected person I would have ever thought. The understanding and comfort I received brought me out of the moment (and the drs working on me). My conscience became alive, and I was me. Scared but me. In hindsight my darkest moment in my life, now seems so small and insignificant I am amazed I gave it so much power over me at the time.

Life is here to enjoy, your journey is just beginning, don't give up on yourself. You are very special, you will bring happiness to all who surround you, you will make  your mark in this world. People will know you and accept you. You will be loved. I can promise you all these wonderful things, because I am here to type this letter to you.

~ Chasing Cars ~

by Tina~in_ut

I asked the girls at work for a SMV. Anything! I couldn't think of a thing that I haven't already done. Actually, I did think of a couple of songs, but couldn't find a video I could use. Holli suggested Snow Patrol Chasing Cars. Jessa seconded the choice. You have to understand Holli. She talks fast and I have to concentrate really hard to understand her. I thought the name of the song was "snow patrol chasing cars." Lol....strange! I looked for the song and realized I already knew it. I just didn't know the name of it. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

~ Clothing Drive ~

by Tina~in_ut

I told you about Angela and her quest to win the Non-Rev challenge.  Part of the contest is to get people to sponsor her either by the mile flown or just a set donation.  Since she's been gone so much, I'm going to be doing the asking and collecting of money.  The money goes to United Way.  I don't think I'm going to do a clothing drive, tho!  :D

YOU KNOW YOU'RE HAVING A BAD DAY WHEN.......

by Shirley

You have to hitch hike to the bank to make your car payment.

Your suggestion box starts ticking.

Your secretary tells you the FBI is on line 1, the DA is on line 2, and CBS is on line 3.

You see your stockbroker hitchhiking out of town.

People send your wife sympathy cards on your anniversary.

You see your wife and your girlfriend having lunch together.

The plumber floats by on your kitchen table.

Your pacemaker has only a thirty day guarantee.

The pest exterminator crawls under your house and never comes out.

A copy of your birth certificate comes in the mail marked null and void.

Your children's school calls to surrender.

It takes you three hours to make minute rice.

You're so bored you play hide & seek alone.

People give you the senior citizen discount and you're only 37.

Your wife tapes your picture to the dart board.

The brides family throws rocks instead of rice.

Your wife wraps your lunch in a road map.

Your horn sticks on the freeway behind 32 Hell's Angels motorcyclists.

Your twin sister forgets your birthday.

Your income tax refund check bounces.

You put both contacts in the same eye.

Your doctor tells you that you're allergic to chocolate.

You invite the peeping Tom in...and he says no.

You wake up face down on the pavement.

You put your bra on backwards and it fits better.

You see a "60 Minutes" news team waiting in your office.

You turn on the news and they're showing emergency routes out of the city.

Your boss tells you not to bother to take off your coat.

You walk to work and find your dress is stuck in the back of your pantyhose.

Your wife says, "Good morning, Bill" and your name is George

ohhh...another in the series of name blogs!!

by Maureen

A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children.

"You all have obsessions," he observed.

To the first mother, Mary, he said, "You are obsessed with eating.

You've even named your daughter Candy ."

He turned to the second Mom, Ann: "Your obsession is with money.

Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny."

He turned to the third Mom, Joyce: "Your obsession is alcohol. This too shows itself in your child's name, Brandy ."

At this point, the fourth mother, Kathy, quietly got up, took her little boy by the hand, and whispered, "Come on, Dick, this guy has no idea what he's talking about. Let's pick up Peter and Willy from school and go get dinner.

~ 1000 ~

1000! Can you believe it? It still amazes me that a group of people from all over the country and Canada have stuck together this long. Quite a few of us have met face-to-face and some, more than once. We've built friendships with people that we never would have known otherwise. We've been through weddings, funerals, graduations, illnesses, new jobs, moves, good weather, bad weather, travels, birthdays, and anniversaries together. We've had brain farts....and some just fart. We've pee'd our pants (some for real....I'm not naming any names...ME!) We've laughed and cried, disagreed and agreed to disagree! We love porn, animals, and sometimes even our husbands and children! Most of all.....we love and respect one another.

I hate you all!

Love,

Tina~

Strauss-Walzer Medley

I love this guy! I have been watching his concerts on PBS for the last couple of years. He makes me smile and makes classical music so much fun. I know you all won't like it, but I hope at least 1 other person out there enjoys it as much as I do.

Foot in your Mouth.. Yuck!

So it seems I stuck my foot in my mouth again....

I try very hard to connect with my clients as they sit in front of me. I give them eye contact, and I allow them to talk as much as they want, and when need be I intervene. Most people that come to my desk I have never met, so it is a getting to know you moment or two. Last week a Muslim women wearing a Hijab (headscarf) came into my office to book a cruise for her and husband. All went well, and we agreed on a cruise. I told her to come back the next week to pick up her documents. She came in Friday very excited for her cruise but nervous because she was going to be leaving her kids for the first time. We chatted about all the information she would need for her cruise. And then she posed  a question to me.

Her...."Do they have irons in the cabin"
Me... "No sorry irons are not in the cabins"
Her... "I have to iron my Hijab"
Me...."Oh, aren't they wrinkle free"
Her... "No"
Me..  "Well there is a laundry room on board each deck has them you can iron it there and it will be good for the week"
Her... "I change mine daily"
Me... "You do"
Her..."Well yes, they have to match my outfit"

After that I truly don't remember anything else I said, cause all I kept thinking about was what I just said to her. OMG, I could have crawled under my desk. "aren't they wrinkle free" FAIL "you will be good for the week" FAIL.. why oh why did I just  shut up at "wrinkle free".  These questions were totally valid in my mind when I was asking them, but after replaying in my mind. OMG#2
