If you are like me, you don't watch commercials except during the Super Bowl or the Daytona 500, but one day, I was watching The Closer and BAM! There was a "commercial" DURING the show for the Sprint Overdrive. It was so funny to see it that I watched it again. The techie guy was "selling" the product.
I guess in today's world of Tivo, where you can tape/fast forward your shows or even pause them, people just don't watch the commercials anymore. If you've ever watched The Closer, you know that Brenda Lee Johnson LOVES chocolate. She has a drawer full. Lately they have been mentioning Hershey's specifically. It didn't register with me that they were a show sponsor until I saw the Sprint piece.

TINA - I don't watch a lot of "network" shows anymore. I am totally addicted to all the "reality" shows on Bravo!! I'm watching Top Chef Just Desserts right now, and they always promote whatever ovens they are using and this season they are also showing shots of the dish soap they use!

I sleep with head on a pillow but it looks like I slept with my head "in" a pillow last night....
Tina I am sorry but I just don't watch enough TV to see those things....and if I do watch something important....Like "Jerry Springer" it has been previous recorded so I do FF thru the commercials.....but thats not really what you asked is it? UR talking about a commercial within a commercial aren't you? Or something about the Super Bowl? I don't watch that I know. And I don't like watching tennis so the Daytona 500 is out too...however I did look at the photos of Brett Farves penis..

Yes my kitty, Nancy, likes to wake us up really early. Of course, it is usually on a work day. I have the alarm set for 7:00 but I've been awake since before 6.

This blog sounds like product placement. The "advertiser" pays a fee to have their product mentioned or seen in a film or TV show. It was common in the 50's and 60's, I think. With a society of ADD viewers, the advertisers know they have to come up with something besides commercial breaks. Good or bad? Who knows.

Hi, everybody! I haven't noticed a commercial within a show, but lots of product placements.
What's really catching my attention right now in the area of commercials is the background sound tracks that run during the political attack ads, especially those between Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman.
They crack me up! Music in the minor key, if the theme is dark, banjo ditties that sound like they're from the middle of the 20th century if the theme is that Brown is old and tired... ROFLMAO!

oh...I think I get it....like when they used to put pantyhose in plastic eggs!!
That way when you purchased your nylon leg wear you also had a little light bulb go off that reminded you of eggs!!
