~ Ready... Set... Dance! ~

by Tina~in_ut

Hubby told me about this contest.  I hadn't heard of it, but it made me chuckle when he explained it to me.  This is from Yahoo!:

“Ready… Set… Dance!” combines Yahoo!’s vast scale and insights with Electus’ creative genius to provide the Yahoo! Music audience with a unique, branded, high energy, interactive dance competition experience—seamlessly integrated with State Farm’s brand message targeted at a young adult audience. It’s an extension of State Farm’s “Why Agent?” brand campaign.

Aimed at tapping into the national obsession with TV dance shows and Web videos, each episode features two contestants selected during a series of entertaining auditions. Once chosen, the contestants will get a random phone call from "RSD!" hostess Adrienne Bailon—anytime or anyplace—and must immediately break into their dance routines for a chance at “Ready, Set, Dance!” fame and fortune. Each week, viewers can vote on their favorite dancer, and winners will receive $10,000 in each of the six dance contests.

Good morning, DeeDee.

I was almost as pretty as you today. Can I be Miss Congeniality?

DeeDee said...

why yes J/L!! Good morning!! Did you enjoy the chateau.....is that place and that city not gorgeous!!??

I watched the video and that is cool stuff....I like that the winner was Will!!

You did well with that Tina...I told you to keep trying...and that you would eventually hit on a good blog topic!!

Yes, it is gorgeous and if I wasn't sick I would enjoy it even more.I was alternately too hot and then too cold all night long. We fly home late this afternoon. My daughter and I both have aisle seats as that's our preference but that means some poor sap is going to have to sit next to me with all my coughing and sniffling. And I have one hell of a headache, too. Can you tell I feel whiney?

Tina. Sorry I can't see your vid.

sorry to hear that you don't feel well....and have to make the trip back to the west coast....yuk!!

Too bad you can't stay a few days and recover at the hotel and then enjoy the city without feeling yucky...

Its always good to get home though...I always think of you chasing the trashcan in a big storm in your house coat....lol....

Morning DeeDee and Just Lin!

Interesting avatar pic DeeDee. Is that your hand?

Just Lin I'm sorry you are sick. I hope it wasn't our Canadian weather that made you sick.

DeeDee, thanks for the instructional avatar. I could have used that whilst away over the weekend.

I don't see the vid, and it's one I want to see.

Just_Lin, so sorry you're under the weather. On the bright side, you seem to have had a helluva time.

Morning glories!

Deedee how beautiful!

Interesting Tina really like the first guy! Lots of energy and spunk. However I would vote for the guy who posted in the comments...

Bert said "Why doesn't State Farm Just Pay their Claims?"

Good question Bert. Because it is easier for them to waste your paid premiums on dancing!

my avatar is from Homeland Securities instructional book on passenger screening at U.S. airports...

in this particular diagram I believe they are checking for explosives...

or giving him a nice prostate rub...

Yes, well it would have come in handy either way, DeeDee.

DeeDee. LOL. I haven't had to chase garbage cans in a while but winter is starting soon. Let the games begin!

I'm in Quebec Airport waiting. For my flight to Chicago.it's raining. Yesterday we had dinner at a little bistro across the street from our hotel. Suddenly there was a leak coming from the ceiling (not on us, just near us). There was a hotel above the restaurant and someone overflowed their bathtub.Oops!

TINA - I vote for Will!! He had so much energy and just made me smile!!

SHIRLEY - Can't wait to see what you have cooked up for us!!

BONACHICHI - lol @ instructional avatar!! where are you hanging your hat these days?

Getting ready to take off. Sam wants to get her hair cut and I'm due, too!! Thankfully they were able to squeeze us both in this afternoon!

Funny video...I pick the first guy. You sure need to be outgoing to sign up for that contest. You find some pretty fun things MR TINA!!

J/L: It seems like you always get sick when you travel. I think you need to start staying home so you can get well and stay well for the winter.

We are finally having some real fall weather today with a little rain, wind and cooler. My husband was supposed to go up on the mountains for a meeting but turned around as the snow was coming down hard up there.

SHIRLEY: Do I need to go costume shopping or are you just sprucing up the manor? I was planning on going trick or treating.....what kind of candy are we giving out for Halloween?

MO: Your football team did great yesterday!!! I think your team and mine were the two major upsets in the leagues....mine the loser and yours the winner.

JODI: Yours was a nail biter but glad to see Green Bay win....you have a cute quarterback...

DEEDEE: Interesting avatar...is that your hand in the picture? Maybe you were a doctor years back (until you got into corn).

LYNN: Hey girl...what's up? How are things going at the food bank? Doing anything special for Halloween? You are our costume girl so thought something new might be coming up!!

Denver is in a huge funk today after losing to the Raiders 59-14. We haven't lost that bad since 1963 and the fans are pissed!! The stands were almost empty by half time since 34 points were scored in the first quarter because we kept dropping the ball. I am staying a fan but not crazy about our new coach! He did say it was his fault....hmmm

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Can't believe how far the BRONCOS have fallen. I will still yell like hell for them (when we actually get to see the game here)....and of course sport the good old orange and blue!! Thanks for the text....otherwise I would've totally missed Favre choke at the end!!

DeeDee said...

tina and co. are on the ground in Utah...flt was delayed...Tina is stuck in her seat...they are bringing in the jaws of life to free her considerable butt from the seat....

MIL has arrived as well. Her luggage is lost. Delta!? She didn't even have to change planes!!

no Dianne...I am not a doctor...but I imitated one once when visiting a friend in the hospital...the emergency room actually...I found I.D., a stethoscope...a lab coat,,the whole getup....I grabbed a clipboard and started making rounds.....talking just briefly with each patient....telling them they were going to get enemas and all kinds of things that scared them I think...oh! ...and I did do a couple of digital examinations...

waiting in a hospital is sooo boring....I had fun and the time just flew by...I even took food orders from some of the people waiting...had em thinking they were getting complimentary McDonalds food...ha hahahahahaaa.....

ahhh....good times..STAT!!...I love saying that....

bonachichi said...

Oh DeeDee, what fun! I want to come along next time. What could possibly go wrong? I myself like to slip the IV bags off the holders and take the patients for a little run. It's not like they can refuse.

Jodi, I've been in the U.S. for a while, but I just hired someone to help out. I'm gearing up for some work with the Aussies shortly. They are way more rude and sarcastic than I am. It'll be nice to be the polite one for once.

BONACHICHI - One of my best friends is from Perth. Oh, how I love her sense of humor ♥

I see the bitch has been here...uh....I mean DeeDee~ My butt fit just fine in my first class seat! tyvm! The man next to me was very nice! The fun part tho....was that the girl at the tkt counter needed help (brand spankin' new!), so I got to play tkt agt for a little while! The man I helped was grateful....and the best part was, I got him off my plane and onto the one to Minneapolis.....I had to make sure I made my flight! kwim?~

And yes DeeDee....that was copy and paste.....I thought I'd try it since you seem so freaking good at it and haven't written your own....EVER!!!!!~ :D

J/L~ safe travels~ We were rained on in Spokane and there was snow waiting for us at home! Tomorrow, I have no idea what I'm going to get....I think rain! But I won't care~

Bonachichi~ I love Australia~ I found everyone except Nick the Dick to be very nice~ (Nick was from Greece, and I attributed his assiness to that!)

Dianne~ Broncos SUCK!!!~ I have a t-shirt for sale if you want it!~

Dianne/Denver said...

TINA; For the record and manners....you do not sell a gift someone gave you and ESPECIALLY do not offer it to the person that so graciously gifted it to you...RUDE!!

bonachichi said...

Tina, the last time I took travel advice from you, I wound up lost, on a bench, in the rain at 4:00 in the morning.

Aussie acts of humor are fine, unless they are being committed against you. I had to explain why someone would think I had dogs, ducks, cats and a dead goldfish in my room the last time I was there.

I am writing as quick as I can, my fricken internet has been off & on like a French Tina Hodi Hoe!!
The weatherman says we will be getting some serious weather tomorrow so I may be disconnected. They are forecasting many outages due to high winds. It should start around our 9am and run through tomorrow...crap! I hate power outages!
I will try to watch the vid before I am dropped again :(
Have a great night all!

Dianne/Denver said...

MARY: I think I am sending the wind to you. It has been bad all day and tonight it is even worse so batten down the hatches!

whabbear said...

Mary: Keep checking in!

Dianne: I feel your pain! Jim and I got so mad at the niners toward the end of yesterday's game that we started yelling at the TV! It wasn't a blowout like the Broncos experienced, but sometimes blowing a lead and losing narrowly can be even more painful!

Kind of like Iowa on Saturday!

DeeDee: LOL@you playing Dr! It's Dr Dee Dee!

And on the political front... ROFLMAO at the latest Meg Whitman attack ads from the Brown camp. They've got Whitman with these quotes like "30 years ago it seemed like the opportunities in California were boundless" and "That's why I moved here".

The governor at the time? Jerry Brown!

whabbear said...

Oh... almost forgot... looks like Owl Manor is getting thoroughly prepped for Halloween! Go, Shirley! Go, Shirley! Go, Shirley!

Jodi said...

MARY - We're under a tornado watch til 6am and high wind warnings all day. I hope my house is still here when I get home from work!!

WHABBY - Ouch on the 9'ners!! And I can't wait to see what SHIRLEY is brewing up in the basement!
