I think some owls are lost in Area 51.

I went grocery shopping today just to pick up a few things and as I was walking towards the store, I saw someone had left their bulging purse in the top basket of a shopping cart. I took it into the store and turned it over to the Customer Service. Someone must have been very upset when they got home and saw that they didn't have their purse with them. Ooops! Anyway, that was my good deed for the day. Oh, wait. There was another good deed. I saw a short little lady looking longingly at an upper shelf in the store so I asked if she needed help. She did. I retrieved an item for her that was on the shelf and way, way in the back. I'm lucky I could even reach it. LOL

Barb Sorry you are having issues with your sister. If all else fails, your plan to do your roots and rinse off in the shower sounds like a good idea to me.

Dianne I don't see my grandkids much anymore, either. Their parents did not have an amicable divorce and when the kids are with my son, they are still 2 hours away from me. Fortunately, they are great kids and do not take after their mother who is a biotch.

Helloooo! I found you. I know Tina was trying to lose me lol! I have not seen the vid yet.
JL. I am so glad you are doing better. I sure hope it lasts even without the pills!
A young friend of mine told me she was having "forgetful" issues. Twice she has left her purse and once, all her groceries in her shopping cart. She got lucky and found them in the same cart when she went back. One time she left baby diapers in her cart, but not there when she went back. I am thinking she did this after putting babies in their car seats. Personally all that forgetfulness would worry me!

Dianne, I hardly see my son and I know he comes by our house on his way to and from work. It used to bother me until I remember the many times I didn't but should have visited my parents. Seems like I was always working and watching kids and trying to keep up with their activities. I did see them more as they got older. Today I heard on the radio "The Cats In The Cradle". My Grand kids are pretty busy too which I understand. Seems like Holidays are the one time I get to see them. When I was growing up we always had Sunday dinner together and when possible dinner during the week. Until my Mom got sick, we had many non holiday dinners. I sure miss all that!

Barb, I would go ahead and do the temp color thing. You don't want to hurt yourself more! I may have to fly down there and lay you down with your head hanging over the bed and "do you" lol!!!

LOL Mary. Come on down!

I am having fun with my new toy! My son installed security cameras around our house.
There have been a lot of break-ins and home invasions lately and me, being the little old lady that I am, wanted to feel a leeeetle bit secure out here in the boonies! Jim has to be careful now where he does his pee pee thing when he is out there lol!! I can watch everything on a small monitor.
Our Lab does a great job watching over us. She has actually made a path all around our house where she constantly paces . Kind of funny! She knows who to trust, like the reg. delivery guys and mail lady. She hasn't bitten anyone, but her bark would scare the bajesus out of anyone lol, and of course my little Doxie guards us inside lol!!! Time for bed. I am having lunch tomorrow with the sweet lady that wrote the book about my Parents. Have a great week end all!!!

Sac Barb, I wanted to hit "like" on your last comment ha ha!!

Mary The only security system I have is my pit bull. Of course, she would most likely kiss you to death but strangers don't know that. LOL

Mary/MI said...

JL. LOL on your kissing pit bull!

My poor hubby is in the living room visiting with his high school buddy. This is the guy that takes no hints on when he should leave! He never brings his own beer or wine, and h as no problem drinking all of ours. He used to show up right at dinner time. I didn't mind it too much...sometimes! We finally asked him to please call before he comes over! He is quite the talker which is kind of weird since he does it, not looking at you, but looking up at the ceiling! It's one of a few close high school friends he has left so we try to be kind lol!!

Just_Lin said...

Mary I wonder if Jim's friend has Asperger Syndrome. They tend to find it very uncomfortable to look at people when they talk to them.

I discontinued the pain pill I've been taking for the sciatic nerve pain. So far, so good. I am hoping I am over my sciatic flare up and won't need the pills anymore. I guess I'll know for sure by the time the weekend is over.

Just_Lin said...

I just accidentally cleaned the bathroom mirror with Febreeze. It works well, though. LOL

sacBarb said...

J/L, I'm glad the meds worked for you. I hope your sciatica doesn't come back. Good to know that Fabreeze has multi uses in case I run out of glass cleaner. LOL

Mary/MI said...

JL, I just looked up " Asperger Syndrome." Jim's friend Max has non of the symptoms.
He is a loner, but non aggressive, just kind of boring lol!

My Niece who lost her son last month to an accident, had a sort of memorial get together/BBQ at her house today. I took all of my DJ/Karaoke equipment to it. It was a sad but fun day. She has a big memorial by her porch with many flowers, painted stones etc. I took a tall metal ornament with beautiful butterflies on it. Every time
she sees a butterfly she thinks of him. He was barely 16.

Tomorrow is Father's day. I got Jim the same thing he got me for Mother's Day...nothing lol!! Well, I may take him out to dinner...

Hi All....I'm missing Jodi.

Went to my grandsons baseball game today. It was very hot but found a shade tree to sit under. They lost. He was picked for the All Star team (overheard my DIL talking about it). Went to lunch with brother and SIL and then got Louis to go shopping for a couple of pairs of shorts and shirts for our vacation next week.

It was 98 yesterday and that is too darn hot for me! We are going to a bbq at my uncles for Fathers Day tomorrow. I'll try and hang out in the kitchen with the air.

JL, glad you are feeling so much better. Hope it continues. Hey, at least your cleaning with something. Lol.

Mary, that must have been very sad for all of you today. Such a sad loss. I'm sure you made it better with music. Do you sing a lot with your karaoke?

Barb, any more plans on that hair situation? Times marching on....

Dianne/Denver said...

Barb, I thought I had your surgery on my calendar but I guess I didn't put the new date. When is it again?

Just_Lin said...

Mary My son's girlfriend has a son who has Asperger's. He's very nice, not aggressive at all. I don't know that aggression is part of Asperger's. He doesn't make good eye contact and is socially awkward. I don't think they are good at having long conversations so that probably leaves Jim's friend out. LOL Maybe he just likes the sound of his own voice.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, My surgery is scheduled for July 9th, a whole month after the original date! I go for another pre-op workup this Friday. Hopefully the won't find another reason to delay it!

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I saw the photos of your family bbq on FB. It looks like you were guarding the cupcakes. LOL Hey, 98 is way too hot. Where is this cruise going to? I forgot.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Let's think positive thoughts and keep our fingers crossed and anything else we need to cross so that you don't have another delay for your back surgery.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Where are you?

Dianne/Denver said...

JL, no cruise this time. 3000 plus mile road trip to Nashville, Louisville,KY, and Dayton, Ohio, for an Air Force museum for Louis to tour. We will see Louis's daughters over the fourth weekend and lunch with Beverly too. I'm looking forward to the trip. We are not riding and will take our time driving places. I can't wait to see Nashville. Barb in Co brought me some brochures as they just came back from there.

Barb, I just hadn't looked far enough ahead on my calendar. I did have it down. I hope everything goes well on your pre op check this time. When is Chad coming back?

JL, I hung out inside by the food most of the day. It was too hot out there for me, even with shade trees. It was a nice visiting day though. A car almost hit us on the way home. It was all bashed up and decided to change three lanes at once. Just so happened we were in the third lane!! Yikes, it was a horn blowing cursing kind of moment. Jerk!!

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Now I remember about your road trip.....Kansas...tornadoes...how could I forget? The photos that Barb in Co posted on FB when she was in Nashville were great. Looks like an interesting place even if I'm not into country music. Sure looks like a lot of good places to eat, that's for sure.

That was scary about the car that almost hit you on your way home. No wonder his car is all banged up.

Time for me to go to bed. You should go to bed, too. LOL

Dianne/Denver said...

Ok JL, I went to bed and now the day is almost over and time to go to bed again soon. Today was a fun day. I went to the outlet mall to,the Coach store. I haven't been there since last fall. I had a store credit and two gift cards so my friend and I went there. It was nice to go with someone I didn't have to pay for...like a daughter lol. The outlet had great sales and then 50% off the marked down price. We both did good!! I was looking for a summer purse and an over the shoulder for traveling. They are so cute. We then went to lunch and as we were going back to her car she had me turn into a strip mall to show me a cute little store and then I bought something else. I told her in went going to be able to play with her as it was getting expensive. She reminded me of the great savings we did today so alls good. It was fun!!

I haven't started packing yet. I only have the suitcase in the house. I need to get going.

Where are the other owls today? Mary, glad you are safe. That's sad about your nail salon. Oh boy, those storms and tornados scare the crap out of me!!

Jodi, miss you.

Waving a wing from Wisconsin!! Sorry I haven't been around. Last week my store leader was on vacation and our new assistant store leader isn't fully trained, so much of "the crap" fell on me. Overwhelmed to say the least. I was suppose to go to LOIS's on Friday for her birthday, but Thursday I felt like crap and didn't want to give her anything. And even though I had the weekend off, my phone rang no less than 5 times. I did go to my ex-bosses place on Saturday afternoon for cocktails. Alex and Dustin's new apartment is so cute. I hadn't seen it since I helped them move. Sunday I stayed home. I was maybe going to Cottage Grove and join Paul, Jake and my FIL for the horse pulls at the fair, but I just wasn't feeling it. I don't know why this Father's Day was so hard. I spent most of the morning crying.

The kids are all good. Sam got a fantastic opportunity working with a lady making arrangements for weddings and special events. Her assistant wasn't working out, so she had talked to a gal that gave her Sam's name. Her first event, she made boutonnieres, wrist corsages and a throwing bouquet. She only put in about 3 hours and got paid $200! This gal seems to really like Sam and loves her work. Sam has already put in her 2 weeks notice at Noodles and Co. Made more in 1 night than she would in 2 weeks there! Tim started a new job with a construction company yesterday. They do concrete work for residential construction. It will just be for the summer. He will continue to work at Headquarters cooking every other weekend. Headquarters is sad to see him leave, but wants him back in the fall full time when he goes back to finish up his HS diploma. Jake has been keeping busy working for Paul's Dad and for a lady outside of town. He has done hay, mowing and helped her repair fence.

Yay...Jodi is back. I'm so sorry you were feeling sad on Fathers Day. It's strange how you never know when grief makes you extra sad sometimes. It's hard on these holidays when we no longer have our parents

Well, it sounds like your kids have a busy summer. Great for Sam getting that job is she stil working where she was in the flower department too? Busy is good for kids. Hope you're feeling better.

JL.IM still up and it's 4.30am. My nap was a little late tonight. I will be sorry when that alarm goes off at 10;30. Are you still awake?
