Dianne, I am sorry you have all that to deal with, especially during this busy time of year. I hope they get their act together so you can have that surgery before the end of the month. Someone should get fired! I used to be a Dental Assistant/Receptionist and the only people that had dental back then (1964-65) were people on Welfare and those authorization requests were a high priority so the patients could get their work done. We were told on the first day of work how important that was and we made sure to get them processed. Maybe you need to threaten a law suite!

Do you have any documents that prove your Medicare drug coverage? Can they really make you pay for the last three years? OMG, I DO see why you needed that drink. I need one just reading your post! LOL

Dianne, P.S. Thanks for the Christmas card. I finished the cards we didn't get done on Sunday, now I just need to get them addressed and out!

J/L, Thanks for the Christmas card. Loved the owl stickers on the envelope.

Mary, It is sad when someone passes away, even if we didn't care for the person. The woman across the street died a few years ago and my next door neighbor and I went to the service because we liked her husband a lot, even though she was a hard person to like. I felt a little guilty, but I wanted to support her husband and kids.

Thanks for the Christmas card. I hope to get mine out by this weekend.

Jodi, I hope Jake's injury from last year doesn't hinder his wrestling ability. Having a bloody nose couldn't have helped, either!

Doesn't it seem like every time we get a little extra money, something happens to use it up. It usually happens to me anyway!

Barb, I've had Louis's Insurance since I retired nine years ago. I called the place today and gave them all in the information. It's just a pain.

I still haven't heard from Drs office this week since the mess on Wednesday. They told me they'd be in touch Thursday. I guess I'll call tomorrow if I don't hear anything. I think that girl should get in trouble too.

JL, I loved that little owl too. Thanks for the card. Now, how's your shopping going?

Jodi, I hope Jake is okay. Seems like your work is sure having some issues. Glad you didn't need a hot wAter heater.

I'll be wrapping after lunch tomorrow. Louis and I had a coupon to be used this month for lunch at the Melting Pot. It was even his idea to go. It just was the bread/cheese, salad and chocolate fondue. It was just enough. We were buying a gift cert again for a gift so well received another coupon for next year. It's a $40 cert so worth it.

Mary, thanks for the card ...very nice.

We expecting snow gain in Saturday 2-5". Nice for the game against the mean old Raiders!! (Barb) guess I'll have to go give Zona some razzing about the game and then hope we win.

I'm m getting tired of hearing about Star Wars. It seems like it's on everything!! Ok...good night all

Dianne The same thing happened to my friend when she signed her hubby and her up for drug coverage on Medicare for the first time. Because she hadn't chosen drug coverage the very first time they signed up, there was some kind of penalty. I don't know if it would make a difference if you had drug coverage under some other means, or not.

I forgot to thank you for the Christmas card. It was the first one I got through the mail. I did get one earlier from my neighbor but she just walked it over. LOL

I still don't have gifts for my daughter and her boyfriend. I have gotten gifts for my grandkids. Everyone else; my son, his girlfriend, her kids, her son's girlfriend, are all getting gift cards.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I'm looking forward to getting your card this year. They're always so pretty and creative. I wish I had it in me to do that but that means I'd have to be super organized and start way ahead of time; something I don't seem to be capable of doing. LOL I was so much more organized when I worked full time.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Thank you for the card. You wrote inside about me not noticing the envelope being upside down. I looked at it and looked at it and it still didn't seem upside down to me. LOL

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Waving a wing at you. The only thing I was organized about this year was getting my cards early and getting them out in time. If I would have had to take a photo for it, it never would have happened.

Hi...still haven't heard from dr office. I called at 4:30 today and they close at 4:30...maybe Monday. Had a nice long much with the x SIL TODAY. we are still very close. Wrapping caught up again and mailing packages tomorrow to Louis's kids and a couple of others. I can't believe how organized I am this year and without granddaughters help! Feels good

JL, I was more organized when I worked too. I ne d to sort thru winter clothes some day and make some room. I buy new things and don't know where to hang them. Snow is starting.

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi....everyone must be shopping today. Barb, I know you are at graduation. Congratulations to your grandson. Did you go to dinner or celebrate after ceremony? You must be very proud.

Only received one thing in mail to wrap today. Waiting for still a few things that I wish would hurry up.

It's snowing today so we didn't go to dinner as planned. Louis doesn't want someone to slide into our new car, Ended up bringIing home KFC

I did start some cleaning in my office....not clothes but just junk. Guess what I found...more Christmas stamps from last year. I have a lot of stamps now!!

Not much else going on.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne You are cracking me up with all these stamps you are finding. It's a good thing they are now forever stamps now.

Of course we don't have snow but it has been raining cats and dogs all night and this morning. It took a lot of convincing to get my dog to go out and do her morning duties. I think I will be hunkering down inside today and wrapping a few things. I have a box that I need to pack up so I can get it in the mail tomorrow.

sacBarb said...

Hellooo. I am finally getting to sit down after cooking a big dinner for Dean's birthday. We decided on an early dinner (4:00) so everyone could get home and rest before going back to work tomorrow. The graduation was really nice. We didn't go out together after because we all went to dinner in November to celebrate. Josh actually completed all his course work in August and originally he wasn't going to walk in the ceremony, but he changed his mind. I'm glad he did, because he will remember this forever. I was much older when I finally received my degree and I didn't walk, and sometimes I wish I had. But I was married and had kied and a full time job, so I didn't think it would mean that much. I was just glad that I finished!

sacBarb said...

P.S. I got my cards in the mail yesterday, so they should be arriving soon!

Dianne/Denver said...

Ok....not good.....the Raiders beat the Broncos!! We are not cheerful in Denver now. There was one guy that did a record number of sacks on us!!! Oh well.....probably put Manning back in next week.

Barb, looking forward to your card. Doesn't it feel good to get them in the mail? Sounds like you had a nice graduation and bday dinner too. You are a cooker this month. What did you make today?

Went to breakfast with my Sunday friend Barb that you all met. The weather today is sunny and beautiful. You'd never know it snowed yesterday. Came home and watched game and took nap. Slow day.

Tomorrow I take my son to Kaiser for a procedure. At least I will get to spend some time alone with him.

Dianne, I cooked beef stronganoff over noodles, asparagus and garlic bread. All requested by Dean. For Christmas Eve I am cooking the Italian traditional linguini with clam sauce. The full traditional Italian Christmas Eve meal usually consists of 7 fishes, one being the clam sauce, but that is so much food and we don't have that many people any more so I just do the linguini. When I was a kid, we had huge family dinners with 30 or more relatives for every holiday and my Mom cooked whatever the traditional meal was for that holiday, including desserts. She was a great cook and I wish I had paid more attention when she cooked. Now it is just the few in my family that live close. We have invited another couple that my sister and I knew when we lived in Santa Maria. They live here now and don't have family here. For Christmas Day I have ordered a prime rib from the grocery store that I will pick up on the 23rd. After Christmas, I may not cook again until next Christmas Eve. LOL

Waving a quick wing before work!! Still having a hard time sitting back and letting them struggle. I just keep breathing!!

Still haven't gotten a pic. And I'm not going to stress about it. Maybe we can get one on Christmas Eve and I'll make Happy New Year's cards.

I best hoist and rinse. Have a great day HOoters ♥

Just_Lin said...

Barb That was nice of you to make Dean's favorites for his birthday. You are really doing a lot of cooking this holiday. Your dinners sound great. You ought to be pooped by the time all this is over. How is your back?

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I'm sorry about your Broncos. I can say that sincerely because I'm not bothering to even watch the 49ers this year.

Yesterday was a very slow day for me as it was raining very hard all day. I did do a little wrapping. I also binge watched season two of "Transparent" on Amazon Prime. It was very good.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi I'm glad you aren't stressing about the photo and cards and you need to have the same attitude about the work situation. I never saw "Frozen" but I'm aware there is a song in there, "Let it Go". LOL

sacBarb said...

Jodi, I am cooking and doing a lot during this busy season. I try to rest between chores and events, but my back is telling me to slow down. I will not be working for Christmas Promise this year which saddens me and especially because this is going to be the last year. The two women who started it 35 years ago just cannot do it any more and I guess they haven't been able to find someone to take it over. I have donated, which I also have done every year, but it's strenuous work and I just can't do it. Don't stress over the picture for your cards. Ditto what Just Lin said!

sacBarb said...

J/L, it rained a lot here yesterday, too, and it was cold. I didn't even step outside at all.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, That was a really good game yesterday, don't you agree?

Just_Lin said...

Barb I got your card today. Love it! Thank you! I wish I took the time to hand make cards but it seems I lucky to just get them bought and mailed.

Dianne and Mary I hope I thanked you for your cards but in case I didn't, Thank you! My memory sucks!

Mary/MI said...

I got your cards Barb,Barb,Dianne and JustL :)
Colorado Barb made a beautiful Birthday card! Thanks everyone! I only have about 10 cards to send out!

I got some sad news this morning. My Niece Raquels' new father in law passed away in his sleep. Her hubby is devastated! I met him at the wedding. They stayed at the same hotel we did. He was sweet and charming. I guess he had a pacemaker and was due for a replacement. It gave out and there was nothing his wife could do. I read about Heidi and her friend's Mom. So much sadness before the Christmas Holidays!

I am off to Amazon to get a couple last minute gifts.......

Just_Lin said...

Mary I'm so sorry about Raquel's father in law. What a devastating thing to happen.

Dianne/Denver said...

Mary, I too am sorry about Raquel's father-in-law.

Barb, why does your back still hurt?

Dianne/Denver said...

Well, we are snowed in today and you all know how much I love that......NOT!! Schools are closed and its 11 degrees right now. I've slept off and on all day. I will get out and drive slow tomorrow. Two days home does not work for me. Louis even canceled his lunch...I was going to include myself. We are supposed to get up to 60 by Saturday.

Where are you all today? Snowed in too? :)

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I am still healing and the doc told me it will take a year or so until it is completely healed. I am supposed to ease into doing things and sometimes I think I just go too quickly sometimes. I think that's why my back aches at those times. It's hard for me to slow down. If I lost weight it would help a lot too.

sacBarb said...

Mary, That is so sad about Raquel's father-in-law. How old was he? It's devastating whenever someone dies, but more so when it is sudden. My Hubby died suddenly and I feel so sorry for his wife.

Dianne/Denver said...

Barb, my husband died suddenly too. It was such a shock. My heart goes out to people that have to go thru that grief. I know all is terrible for any loss though. Hard time of year too.

You need to take it easy on that back. Do you feel like the surgery was a success?

Dr office finally called today to tell me ins still hadn't approved my procedure but I was scheduled for tomorrow. I guess the case nurse on my ins is on vacation for a week. I turned it down as I'm having kids for that early Christmas Friday night and then Christmas so I asked for the 28th and they agreed. Also, the person that dropped the ball on this whole mess is no longer working there. So now I wait to see if I get approval.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Remember to take it easy on that back. I know it's hard, especially when you live alone and you know if you don't do it (whatever "it" is), no one else will, but still, be a good patient for a while longer. I hope you don't overdo it with all the holiday cooking you have coming up. So far, I've made two batches of fudge and two batches of cookies. More cookies on the agenda today.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne See what happens when you are so organized that you have no wrapping left to do on these snowed in days? Do you like to read? That's what I would be doing or binge watching a show. I watched all of season two of Transparent the other day on Amazon Prime when it was raining very heavily here.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Happy Birthday!!!!! I hope you're having a really good day and that the men folk are spoiling you.

Dianne/Denver said...

Happy Birthday Mary. What did you do today? Hope it was something fun. Try and celebrate all month like I do!! Wish you were closer and I'd take you to lunch!!

Barb, I agree with JL....don't overdo. Received your beautiful card today. Thank you.

JL, I do like to read but on vacation and I'm not a TV person. I was very glad to get out today. I went to WW and lunch. It was 29 out but the sun was shining. The side roads are terrible to drive on but the hwy was fine.

I've lost 17 pounds the last 4-1/2 weeks so I'm pretty excited ...even over Thanksgiving. I don't know how but I'll take it.

Louis and I had a date night tonight for a groupon I had that was about to expire. We had reservations and the place was packed. I had a delicious tender steak. You could about cut it with a fork. Good thing I just had soup for lunch.

My surgery procedure is now scheduled for the 29th. Hope they get insurance approval by then

Hi gals! Barb, Your back and now your foot!! You are in dire need of some pampering!
I sure wish I could do it! You must have been very weak when you sent my beautiful Christmas card. It came all the way here without a stamp lol! You snookered the USPO!

Dianne, we are supposed to get snow tomorrow. I have to drive into the city, so I am not too happy about it. Zoie has an appmt for a pawdicure.

I got my last 10 cards sent yay me!I also got packages sent out. I just have to make some internet goodie orders to some family members. I may use the "Popcorn Factory" or "Sees" candies.

I'm heading back to FB and then to bed. Nite all!
Jodi, snow your way yet?

JL, I had a quiet Birthday. I did have lunch with friends so that was fun. Not much is done around here on Birthdays. I know it would be fun to have you gals close by then we could do the "'Dianne" thing and party all monht lol!!

Raquel's FIL was63. They only had the one son.

Weird, I was proof reading and the comments were out of order!

sacBarb said...

Mary, I swear I put a stamp on that card! I hope you didn't have to pay to get it and if you did, I'm sorry.

sacBarb said...

Dianne and J/L, I am trying to slow down and not do strenuous things.

sacBarb said...

My tree has been up for about a week and the kitties have been good about leaving it alone, mostly! So I put the tree skirt around the bottom and they immediately thought it was a bed for them. My Mom crocheted it about 15 years ago and it is thick and soft. It also has some flat needlepoint ornaments sewed on it. Well, today I found it in the middle of the room, so I guess the temptation was too much for them to just be satisfied napping on it! I still haven't put any ornaments on the tree, just lights. Now I'm thinking if I put dangly things on it, they won't last long! I think I'll try some ornaments high on the tree and see if the cats try to get to them. Or maybe I'll just put the angel on the top and call it a day!

Just_Lin said...

Mary I'm glad you had lunch with friends on your birthday. Was that when you had that little tiny margarita?

I still have one more gift to get and I have no idea what it will be. That makes it difficult.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Well, if you only read on vacation, maybe you could pretend the snowy days are vacation and you're in the alps or something. LOL I think you live in the wrong climate for wanting to be out and about as much as you do. Have you lived there your whole life?

It sounds like you had a really nice meal using your groupon. I was out with friends the other night and had the surf and turf. I brought most of the steak home and had a steak sandwich for lunch the following day. It was yummy!

Just_Lin said...

Barb I hope the kitties didn't damage the tree skirt. I wonder if they drug it out from under the tree on purpose or if it got stuck on a claw. I used to fully decorate my tree even with all the cats I had but I did put unbreakable things at the lower third of it. And yes, I did have to put items back on the tree every morning. LOL
