Happy New Year!! Wishing you all love, health and peace in 2016 ♥

I woke up feeling much better. I think between the popcorn at the movie and the pepperoni pizza I had for dinner, my stomach wasn't happy with me. Best go hoist and rinse. Praying for an uneventful day at work. Yesterday Adam had quite a time. He tried using the wrong key to open the safe and broke it off in there!!! Long story short, a locksmith finally made it to the store at 1:30 pm!! OY!!!

Happy New Year! I actually went to bed a little after 11:00. I think that's the first time I wasn't up at midnight. I'm usually up well past that on every other night of the year. I had one Black Russian and that was it for my celebrating. I guess I'm getting old.

Jodi said...

SLIN - You're not old, just fabulous!

Happy New Year y friends!

JL, I was telling my hubby that exact same thing last night! Tears for him come little too late in my opinion. I hope he doesn't suck Matthew into his web! Your recollection of your ex, was so close to mine, that it was scary, gun and all! He later told his Mother that he planned on kidnapping me and taking me to a motel and keeping me there until I "came to my senses!" We were so fortunate to have gotten away from that situation!
It was a good DJ night. Not too crowded and thankfully only one nasty drunk gal that didn't hang around!

Diane, so sorry about your butt ache! Maybe a massage from a cute masseur??

Hodi,Glad you are feeling better today! I have done the "broken-key-in-the-lock" thing, but not on a safe! yikes!

I did something that horrified me... I got on the scales!! All that walking and exercising!! I gained weight!! Holidays are soooo bad for me!! I have 3 months before my trip to drop some pounds. Wish me luck!!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi You are too kind. I'm def old. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Mary I'm glad we have both lived to tell about it.

I had the same scare on the scale as you did. Yikes! Things have gotten away from me. It's time to get serious about weight loss (again). Unfortunately, I haven't been walking or exercising. My back has been giving me fits lately.

Hi...Happy New Year. Mary and JL, I'm so glad you both lived to tell about it as you said In Your previous marriage. How can a person change so much from the one we originally married?

We stayed home and did nothing last night. My friend brought us dinner and that was very nice. We took lunch over to my brothers today and it was nice to get out of the house. I'm still hurting a lot. Yikes Mary, even the thought of a massage on my bottom brings tears to my eyes.

I'm up and down with weight and that's why I have to go to WW or I'd weigh 500 pounds. I missed this week with my surgery and I've had a lot of cookies and candy and a little booze. I'll miss next week too as we are going up in the mountains for a couple of days on !Monday. We will stop and gamble on the way home. Just a little get away before Louis goes back to work.

Jodi, how was work? Did you go home and nap?

Barb, did you stay awake until midnight? JL, I'm surprised you went to bed so early. You are a night owl!!!

Jodi said...

MARY - I have faith in you!!! I've not gained, actually lost a little since being back from Hawaii. Yay!!

Jodi said...

DIANNE - I don't know what I did, but my ankle hurt like a mofo after work, so I took ibuprofen and iced it. Alex texted me at about 6 and wanted me to join him and Drew for dinner. We met up at Mulligan's. I had a lovely shrimp dinner with a side of Spotted Cow! Iced my ankle again after I got home and my ankle is so much better this morning!!

Jodi said...

SLIN - Not kind, truthful!!! ♥

I best get moving. I have to stop and get a sympathy card. I'm going to my friend, Valerie's grandma's wake at 1. I've know this lady my whole life. Beautiful inside and out. God love her, she was 92! Valerie's Mom and my Mom graduated high school together, and so did Valerie and I! She and her family lives in NC, so I don't get to see her as often as I'd like. I call her my forever friend. It doesn't matter how much time passes, we just pick right back up!!

This afternoon Paul, Jake and I are heading to the Olson Christmas in Milwaukee. Lutefisk extravaganza #2!! Love spending time with my MIL's family. Lots of love and laughing....don'tcha know. lol!!

sacBarb said...

Happy New Year everyone. Let's hope we all have a healthy 2016. I, for one, don't have many more parts that haven't already been replaced!

Dianne, I did stay up until after midnight. I watched Andy Cohen on the Celebrity Game Night instead of Ryan Seacrest.

J/L, Your Black Russian sounds good. I should buy some Kahlua so I can make one. I already have the vodka. I also bought some lemon flavored vodka for Christmas. It was a big hit! We just drank it over ice, but I bet there are more creative ways to drink it.

Mary & J/L, I think we are ALL happy that you are both here to tell your tale. You are an important part of the nest!

Jodi, So sorry about your friend's grandmother. It's so nice to have a friend that you can pick up where you left off, no matter how long since you've seen each other. My high school friends are like that and even though I only see most of them once a year, we do the same thing.

Mary/MI said...

All is well here in Mich. We did have an incident with a raccoon on our porch tonight! I had to grab Zoie by the collar before she sprang into action! The dam thing pooped on the porch! There is at least one little one under our porch. Nast things!

Thanks for saying such a sweet thing JL, I feel the same way about you and the other Owls :) btw, I love black or white Russians! It's been a while since I've had one.

Jodi, You sure are a social butterfly lol! I would not be able to keep up with you, but then, you are ages younger than me lol! Thanks for the encouragement!

Dianne, how is your hiney? I hope it survived the road trip!

No word on my ex. I told Matthew that he got along fine without us all those years, that he will do just fine now! Thanks for reminding me about those crocodile tears JL!

Just_Lin said...

Mary I think it's Barb you meant to thank for the kind words. I thank her, too.

Raccoons are cute but they sure can make a mess! You are good to not let Zoie get near them as they can do some major damage.

Kahlua has a chocolatey taste to it so of course I like it. Yes, black or white Russians. They are both yummy.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Lemon flavored vodka on ice sounds pretty darn good and refreshing. I will have to try that sometime.

Hey, Bachelor is almost here! I think I will be drinking some form of vodka instead of wine for my viewing pleasure. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Hodi I wish I had 1/4 of your energy. Maybe I did once when I was your age. It's been so long ago that I can't remember. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I hope your butt is better.

Dianne/Denver said...

My butt cheek still hurts. If u turn over just right or getting in and out of the car...it feels like a knife is sticking in your butt....really fun. Can't really tell yet if the whole thing is working. Louis and I had to read the manual and "turn me up" today. I go Thursday to get the stitches out.

Mary, my road trip is Monday. We shall see. It's only a couple of hours...l o n g hours. I prefer White Russians.

Jodi, sorry that you had to go to a wake today. Always so sad. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas celebration tonight. We still have our decorations up and probably won't take them down until next weekend.

We are going to my brothers for the game and to celebrate my nieces birthday. We also have an electrician coming at 10 tomorrow.

Barb, we watched the ball drop. Some of the people said they had diapers on as there are no bathrooms and you don't want to lose your spot. Ohhh, that would be gross for 12 hours!!!

Jodi, I'm sure glad your ankle got better so quick. No time to be down. You are too busy for that...right?

JL, I like Kahlua too. I like it with cream. Mmmm. Sometimes when we go to the casino I get one or two. Have you ever had a Bulldog? It's Kahlua, cream and Coke. Haven't had one of those in years. You just made me think about it.

Ok gals...get those tassels out. We're in the playoffs but we don't know when or where. We need to win against San Diego tomorrow and Raiders need to beet KC. Can't believe I have to cheer for them. I heard they might be leaving Oakland this next year. Hope they don't come here.:)

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I hope your butt feels better after the sutures are out. You literally have a pain in the butt.

I don't think I've ever heard of a Bulldog. It sounds good. I meant to get cream the other day when I was at the store but I forgot.

I'm going to meet my son and grandkids for lunch today. We are meeting half-way between my house and my son's but it will still be a good hour long drive for me. We have storms coming in so I'm hoping to be home before the really heavy rain starts.

Dianne/Denver said...

JL, have a great time with the kids today. Fun way to spend the afternoon. Do you think they will notice your orange and blue tassels?

sacBarb said...

J/L, I was looking for vodka that wasn't maid with grain and there was a rep from the Eddy company and she told me their vodka is not maid with grain. So, as I was looking at them I saw the lemon flavored and decided it sounded good, and indeed it is. I never heard of Eddy vodka and this one is Deep Eddy. I may have a shot or two during the Bachelor! Although, I am going to the gross-ery tomorrow and I may just have to get some Kahlua. Then I can decide, depending on my mood - sweet or sour! LOL

Dianne/Denver said...

YIPEE!!! We won. Close game and once again edge of your seat. All those tassels twirling worked.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I'm sorry you still have a pain in the butt. You should feel better after the Broncos win today, even though the Raiders lost. I guess you didn't cheer loud enough! ;)

sacBarb said...

Jodi, I remember when I had all that energy, with kids going in different directions at the same time and family things going on, too. I am so glad I don't have all that going on now! I get tired just reading your posts. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Congrats to your Broncos. You must have been twirling your tassels extra vigorously since I forgot about mine. Since our Niners were so lousy this year, I have had no interest in football. Generally, I don't care about football or baseball except for our own teams. I've never, ever cared about basketball.

I had a really nice visit with my son and grandkids. My grandson is a really big guy now and my granddaughter is a little wisp of a thing. He plays football and she is a cheerleader. They are both fun and funny. We had a lot of laughs during our visit.

Just_Lin said...

Barb We have several systems of rain coming our way this week. I was listening to round one during the night. I was glad to get home from Pleasanton yesterday while the weather was good. The rain didn't arrive until late at night and wasn't as heavy as I had feared so driving home was smooth sailing......even going over that low San Mateo bridge....hehehe.

sacBarb said...

J/J, I absolutely HATE that San Mateo bridge. My Hubby took that route when coming home from San Jose one time and I thought it was NEVER going to end! I swear it was like being on it for days! My Hubby knew how much I hate bridges of any kind, and he didn't realize we would end up on that one (he said, but I'm not sure). It was the first and last time we took a different way home from visiting his sister and family in San Jose.

I'm all set for the Bachelor. I think Ben is a real catch and I hope he doesn't disappoint as so many of the others have.

Just_Lin said...

Barb It was actually easy sailing on that bridge as it wasn't very crowded at all so I felt like I had plenty of room to maneuver. It was a lot more relaxing than most freeway driving. I believe it is about 12 miles long.

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi....we are up in the mountains in a toasty cabin with the fire going. Actually, the weather was nice today...just needed long sleeve.
We drove around Rocky Mtn National Park and then had a good steak dinner. We are In for the night now. Tomorrow we will roam around town Nd then go to a 4:15 movie to see Daddy's Home with Will Ferrell. On Wednesday we will have a late breakfast after check out and then off to the casino on the way home. We are supposed to have good weather until Thursday.

Oh my gosh, I was twirling like crazy yesterday for those Broncos!! JL, shame on u not having ur tassels on. BArb, I was cheering for the Raiders too. The one time I wanted them to win!!!!

JL, glad you had a nice time with your family. How old are your grandchildren? Wow, a bridge 12 miles long....that's long. Needless to say, we don't have many bridges in Colorado.

Jodi, are you all done with your Christmas dinners? My daughter is really getting into that bowling with her boyfriend. I think she's like you and especially loves the social part of it.

Hellooooo Mary.

Well, in case you were all wondering about my bottom, it seems to be a little better. I'm really. It supposed to shower but can't stand it. Louis put clear packing tape over the bandage and tape. Well, it wouldn't dry before we went out yesterday so Louis had to blo dry my bottom. Great visual, huh? Glad we are married!!

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, a blow job from Hubby?? Any pics or vids? LOL!! Your road trip sounds wonderful! I wish Jim would do things like that! I envy couples that do things together. I'm sure you know by now, that if I want to go some place really special, I travel alone or with a friend or family member. He's not much for adventure!

JL, Holey moley 12 mile bridge!! I used to have a dream/nightmare that I would be driving on a long bridge and it would end suddenly! Yikes!

SacBarb, I would have been a nervous wreck on that bridge! Short ones don't bother me. I'm not sure how long our Mackinaw bridge is.... long enough lol!

I have lost 5 lbs! I immediately cut out all sweets! I am trying to cut back on carbs and making sure to have a healthy breakfast to give me a good daily start.
The hardest was not eating after 8pm especially since I stay up so late! I have yogurt with fruit for my snack before 8:00. I really needed to quit the sweets! I love fresh baked goods! I know the next lbs will be tougher!

Just_Lin said...

Dianne It looks like I misspoke. I looked it up and the San Mateo Bridge is 7 miles long. It is the longest bridge in California and 25th longest in the world.

LOL at Louis blow drying your butt. You two are kinky. LOL

Mary/MI said...

I forgot to wave at Jodi! ~~~~~~

Dianne/Denver said...

JL...7 miles is still long. Yes, we r very kinky. NOT! We r so kinky that we have separate bedrooms at this cabin. Their beds were just double and that's too small for the two of us to be comfortable.

Mary, Louis doesn't like to do a lot of things and I do a lot with friends but he is fairly flexible. If he didn't know me, he'd be still living and working in the mountains and be a hermit. I make him get out and about. He's fine once he's doing something but he likes his time staying home in front of the tv.

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, he sounds a lot like Jim. Once he is out he enjoys himself....men!!

Time to hit the sack I am loving my Christmas gift from Jim! Wireless earphones for our bedroom tv. I can now watch and hear a movie in bed over his snoring !!
Best invention ever!!'Niters!!!

Just_Lin said...

Hello, HOoters!

Well, it was raining cats and dogs all night and most of the morning. There seems to be only a bit of sprinkling now. It was kind of strange to hear our usual monthly tsunami warning blaring during the heaviest of the downpour earlier today. LOL

Tuesday nights are my usual night to have dinner with my friends, Jane and John. So after dinner last night, we went to their place so I could see their Christmas tree, have dessert, and exchange Christmas gifts. Coincidentally, we gave each other movie tickets. LOL We plan to go next week and see The Big Short.

I made a decision to just stay home out of the weather today. Staying home and staying ugly....no makeup, no hair done. It's the real me. Frightening. What's everyone else up to?

Dianne/Denver said...

Just got home from our little trip. Perfect weather and didn't ever need a jacket. Went to the casino today and lost $$ as usual. Louis is getting a sore throat so got some food to go and brought it home for dinner.

Louis is going to see Star Wars tomorrow with Tammy ex and boyfriend..cozy group. I get my stitches out and boy am I glad. It was fun to get away.

Now time to unpack.

sacBarb said...

J/L, It might as well be 100 miles long. I have a bridge phobia and avoid them if I can. I will go out of my way to avoid a bridge. We went San Francisco for our honeymoon and we took a nice long drive around the city. I fell asleep for a short time in the car and I woke up just before we were about to go on the Golden Gate bridge. It was time enough for Bob to be able to turn around and we did not cross that bridge that day. I am a little better about it now and I have since been on that bridge, but I really do try to avoid them.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, Yes that was quite a visual! LOL Do you still have a pain in the butt? I hope it heals quickly and you can be comfortable. How nice that you were able to get away for a few days. I don't have anyplace to go until May, when Todd and Vicki are going on a cruise to the Bahamas and I am going to stay with the pup. May in San Diego is not too shabby.

sacBarb said...

Mary, Congratz on losing 5 lbs. I don't make New Year's resolutions, but I am going to try to eat healthier this year. I'm thinking I may feel better if I do. I signed up to have fresh, organic vegetables delivered every other week. They grow everything on a farm not too far out of town and I know a few people that have this service. I opted for a small box and it was delivered on Friday. It had a small bunch of kale, some small yellow tomatoes which had a real tomato taste, not like we get in the gross-ry, a bunch of carrots, 1 lb of mandarin oranges and 1 lb of tangerines, a few potatoes, a big leek, 2 kiwis, 2 grapefruit, and 1 small spaghetti squash, all for $26.00. I have never cooked or even tasted spaghetti squash, but I found a recipe on the internet for which I had all the ingredients and baked it yesterday. It turned out pretty good. I ate half of it yesterday and the other half, today. We'll see how long I can keep this up. ;)

sacBarb said...

Heloooo Jodi.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne It sounds like you had a nice get-away even if you did lose money. I just expect to lose when going to a casino. I'm glad you get your sutures out. That should make you feel better.

How nice that Tammy's ex and boyfriend are friendly. That's especially nice for your granddaughters not to have a bunch of jealous or mean-spirited drama going on.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I know you don't like bridges. I don't care for tunnels but I don't drive out of my way to avoid them. Our new-ish tunnel going over Devil's Slide is great. So roomy and well lit. It doesn't even feel like a tunnel. As for bridges, I think the Golden Gate is my least favorite to drive over as I always feel crowded on it and that makes me tense.

Christmas was fun!! Always a blast with the Olson side of the family! Their apartment was in a really cute are of Milwaukee called the Historic 3rd Ward. I need to take a road trip during the day sometime. I guess it is very close to the River Walk and quite charming.

I only had to work on Wednesday this week. I decided to use some vacation time. I had good intentions on getting some work done around here, but Sunday night I got a chill, and couldn't get warm for 2 days. I guess my body needed the rest. It was still nice not having to be at work, though.

I have a haircut appt this morning. Thank God...my wings are outta control and my bangs are hanging in my eyes! Hoping to have lunch with Aunt Jane before I go get my tires rotated this afternoon.

Mary/MI said...

Hello gals! I just made home made pizza for the guys. Jim's friend who stays forevah!!
is here! He takes forevah to eat! He cuts his pizza in tiny pieces, eats s-l-o-w all while burping and talking at the same time lol! Jim drives me crazy! He has no patience for his eating pace, so he leaves the table and heads to his lazy-boy, leaving him with me! I try very hard to listen to him, but he speaks low and takes forever to get a sentence out! No, he is not mentally disabled lol. I think it's all the pot he used to or still smokes! Oye Vey. I am hiding in my office!

Hodi, the place you were at sounds cool! I hope you get to feeling better! I had my oil changed yesterday. I told the guys that something weird was happening to my new tires! All 4 tires were down over 20* The only place I have been this week was at our VFW Ladies Aux. meeting at our little village. There has been a lot of mischief going on like breaking into cars and light vandalism. I drove to Lansing with my Zoie with them like that. I thought it was a malfunction in the Jeeps system.
I will be keeping a close eye on the tire pressure for a while! New tires shouldn't be doing that!

Barb,I didn't make a resolution on losing weight, my pants were getting very snug kwim??? I dropped 2 more. I am sure I will plateau pretty soon! I wish we had access to fresh fruit and veggies like you! Good for you for going that route!

Dianne, I haven't seen Star Wars yet. If I do, I will go to a theater that has hearing impaired options. The loud sounds really mess with my ears! Sending xoxoxo to your arse!!

JusL, I went to the recycling center and gross-ery store today. I told Jim that I was going as my ugly self lol! I usually at least put on my eye liner and mascara. Nope, went nekkid today lol! You could never look ugly pretty Lady!!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi I'm sorry you weren't feeling well during your vacation but glad you were able to rest and take it easy while you needed to.

You got to stretch out the holiday celebrations. How fun for you. The neighborhood you visited does sound like it would be fun and interesting to visit during the day. When you do, take photos! I kind of stretched out the holiday, too, by shopping yesterday for a belated Christmas present for the baby across the street. Hey, she's only one year old so she doesn't know it's late. LOL

Dianne/Denver said...

Barb, you should live here. You wouldn't be afraid of our 1/2 block bridges. Guess you need water to have those long ones!! That's great you are doing the vegetable thing. That box would last me a lifetime.

Jodi, sorry you were feeling a Under the weather on your time off. Glad you were off but not fun to be sick on vacation days. Have you ever been to that river walk? It would be fun to do that during the day. It might even have some fun shops. We still have to take our Christmas things down....that will be over the weekend. I'm not excited to do it but will be glad when it's down. It really won't take us that long if the tv isn't on. Go Packers on Sunday.

It's playoff weekend so a few good games on. We get to rest this weekend and then play next week. Our coach has decided to start Peyton do that is probably good although our backup is pretty good.

The weather is good again but cold. We got about 3" of snow so it's a wet mess outside but not icy on the roads. I went to lunch and then to Walmart to get some crockpot things for next week. I found a couple of other items I couldn't live without!!

JL, that's nice that you bought the baby a present. Better deals after Christmas too. We are going to see that new Leonardo movie with another couple on Thursday. It doesn't look like my kind of movie but hopefully, it will be good. He may get nominated for Academy Award for it rumor says....

Mary, I wouldn't want to eat with a burper sloppy eater either. I'd pass on dinner then I guess he'll be sitting alone. I'd be smacking Jim for leaving you at the table with HIS friend. That's kind of strange about your tires. I'd keep close watch on them..20 is really low. I got my stitches out and dr turned up my power in my butt but it still hurts where surgery was done. Dr reminded me it's only been ten days. I had to go to two different dr appts yesterday. Boring!

Mary/MI said...

I was on my way to bed until I read Dianne's post!
How exactly does a Dr "turn up the power" on your arse???
I am getting all kinds of visuals, so you better 'splain! LOL!!!

Just_Lin said...

Mary I swear I wasn't ignoring you. I didn't see your comment above mine. I think I started mine when you were posting yours and I thought it was only Hodi above me. That is scary and weird about your tires. Hopefully, all will remain fine from now on.

Okay, that slow eater sounds gross. He may have bad teeth or ill fitting ones. Anyway, the burping is really rude unless there is a medical problem. Regardless, it's sure not appetizing as a dinner companion. Shame on Jim for bailing out and leaving you with him. I think I'd bail first before Jim had the chance.
