Dianne Thanks for the chuckle this morning. Yep, that about sums it up.

i'm sorry you aren't getting the results you wanted from the bladder surgery. I hope there are other remedies that may be more successful.

I will be taking my dog to the vet today. There is something going on with her paw on her right hind foot. She's tender with it and will limp (unless there are other dogs to run arund with and then she acts like there's no problem). Anyway, when I first looked at it on Saturday night, it looked like maybe part of a paw pad had been scraped off. Now I'm not so sure of that but it does appear that the side of one toe is swollen. It definitely bothers her and is not clearing up on its own.

DIANNE - Ha!!! Now that's some kind of "pew rent" ;)

Jodi said...

SLIN - I hope they can figure out what is wrong with poor Ursula! Kinda like kids, though. Running around like it's nothing when there are other kids around!

FROM AREA 51:

MARY - I saw the pics of your new Jeep on FB. It's a beaut! The only time I have driven a Jeep is when LOIS and I went to Kauai 3 years ago. It was a smaller one and fun to drive! Sucks when you come home from vacation with a "bug". Have fun in Vegas baby!!!

BARB - She charges per form prepared. We had 14 Federal forms and 3 State forms. I'm in the middle of a buyout of my CSI shares I had with Kwik Trip which is very complicated, and Paul has a K1 from the business with his family for the Belgians. I can say this, I'd much rather pay someone to do all this correctly and have their name on that bottom line. I have 2 more years with the buyout, and I think they will be dissolving the Corporation with the horses soon, so I'm hoping that we can start doing our own in 3 years.

I also got a call from my tax lady yesterday. When she was trying to electronically submit our taxes, she found that Tim had claimed himself on his return. So I had to have Tim do an amendment on his return this morning before school. Poor kid was going to get a nice little refund, but now he owes the federal $442. I told him not to worry, that I would pay that. It would've hit us harder if we didn't have him to claim on ours. Next year we will be down to one child to claim. Boy how time flies!!!

DIANNE - Man, Tammy can't get a break!! I'm so glad I'm past that age with Sam. She pulled some pretty crazy crap during high school. Sam is doing better. She's able to walk with the assistance of just one crutch now. She has her post op appointment on Friday. I'm sure they will be ordering PT at that time. I'm moving and feeling so much better. I stopped at our local flower shop yesterday and took a small bouquet to the acupuncture place I went to. I just wanted to show them how much I appreciated what they could do for me and say thank you with flowers. They have a couple of massage therapists that work for them. I'm thinking of treating myself to a massage soon.

DIANNE - P.s. Good luck to Louis tomorrow. Paul had cataract surgery a few years back, and it was a piece of cake!! I hope your dentist appointment goes well today and that your bladder dr can find a better solution for you!

Last night was our bowling banquet. We didn't do very well in the standings, but it was a fun season. We've decided as a team that we will not be bowling in that league next year. It starts too late and it is on the far north side of Madison. We are looking for a league that is closer and starts earlier.

Saturday thru Monday we had beautiful weather in the 70's and 80's. We will only be in the 60's for the rest of the week. That is still above average for this time of year in Wisconsin, so I'll take it!!!

Wednesday I go to the eye dr. It's been 2 years and I know my prescription probably has changed. I'm actually considering contacts, but I know I would give some clarity up with those. I have astigmatism and need a bifocal. Maybe I can find a pair of glasses that have less of a "frame" so you see more of me, and not them. We shall see.

Good evening. Time for these old bones to head to bed.
Nothing much going on here but same ole hum-drum daily chore stuff.Tomorrow I am going to our UAW Retiree's lunch at the union hall. It will be a catered dinner. I guess it is a make up date for Easter dinner. We bring canned goods for the local pantry. I won two of the 50/50 drawings last time. I may not be allowed to buy tickets again lol!
I am waiting for a call from my Optometrist for my new glasses and a call from Furniture Row for another piece of my office furniture. I have one more coming after that. I am waiting for the wall to be fixed before I order that one. The guy did show up today after I called him Sunday. Hopefully it will be done next week! Two months for a simple job is crazy!!
Nite all!!

Jodi said...

10!!!

Jodi said...

MARY - I'm glad the guy finally showed up!! You'll have to post pics once the work is done! I got my ticket for the Teen Turf Drawdown last week. It is the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. It is the fundraiser for the Youth Center in LOIS's week little town. It is a blast and a half! I wasn't able to go last year, so I'm looking forward to it. They always do 50/50 drawings, too! I've won a few times over the years. I'm also looking forward to the silent auction items. Some little old lady will probably have a pretty quilt for me to bid on. They know I love butterflies and the color purple!

Best go hoist n rinse!! Have a great day HOoters ♥

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I hope Louis' procedure goes well today.

I'm glad the boyfiend is back with his grandparents. That will free up Kayla emotionally a bit. What is it about girls that they always want to bring in the strays?

Just_Lin said...

Mary I had a ho-hum day, too, except for taking my dog to the vet. She sheared off part of her pad on her right hind paw and it is swollen but healing. $158 later I brought home an antiseptic soak, antibiotics, and pain meds. I remember when this would have cost half of that. Every thing seems to be going up except my income and my intelligence.

In the evening I fooled around with my art stuff. Don't know how I feel about the results. I think I will work on it a little more.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi I hope you find another bowling league you can join that will be more convenient for you all. My brother is 5 years younger than me and just resigned from two softball teams that he was playing on. He is really bummed about it as he's basically been playing all his life and really enjoys it. His play has been very limited for a while now because he desperately needs to have both knees replaced and is in pain most of the time. He's depressed about having to drop the softball. He is trying to decide if he can wait another 18 months or so to have surgery as he will be on Medicare then or if he should do it by the end of this year while most of his deductible is already covered from prostate surgery earlier. He is very limited in funds so this is a difficult decision.

Just_Lin said...

Barb What's up? Is your vertigo completely resolved now?

sacBarb said...

J/L, I'm doing better and haven't taken the vertigo meds since Saturday. I still get dizzy at times but not to the degree it was. A technician from my alarm company came over today to do an upgrade on the system and the cats were immediately taken with her. She has three cats and I guess they could smell them on her. Mellie would hardly leave her alone, but she said she didn't mind. Even Tara let her pet her, which she has never done with a stranger. Tara is the one who is very picky about people. Dean and Deb were here several times before she would let them get close enough to pet her.

sacBarb said...

Mary, I hope you have that wall boarded up so it keeps the weather out? Sometimes the little jobs are the hardest ones to get done. I have found that workers would rather do big jobs for bigger money! Have fun at the retirement luncheon and I hope you win again.

Mary/MI said...

Barb,I didn't win the 50/50, but I did win a "PAC" coupon. At the end of the year there is a drawing for a new car!The dinner was good, but I should not have had the gravy kwim? It kid of put the kibosh on my shopping plans lol! I was just getting over Montezuma's revenge!
This contractor does have other larger projects. I can understand that. I just don't like his not keeping in contact with us and telling us when he will be available!

Jodi, I cannot believe Sam hurt herself again!!Dam the luck!!

JustL, I don't remember paying so much for my kids Dr. bills lol!

Dianne, I hope Lois's surgery went well. Sorry you are still having problems. This getting old is not for sissys lol!

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi....thanks for the goods wishes. Louis did fine today. We got there at 8 and left at 11:30. I brought some projects with me to do while i waited. He's just hung out in the recliner this afternoon. He can drive for his follow up tomorrow. We go back in two weeks for the next one. He's happy to have it over.

Kayla is still with asshole every waking moment she's notvatvChristmasnot school. She missed going to dinner with me last night...maybe next week. Em went with me and told me her weekend when she didn't come home. She's very matter of fact about it. Very frustrating.

My dental appt went good. I just had a cleaning. Bladder dr said to keep trying different programs on the butt monitor. She said not to give up yet. It's just upsetting when the trial went so great.

Jodi, so sorry about Sam. What did they do to treat the new problem? When I had my first knee replacement, I broke my foot at PT. Boy, did that make a difficult knee pt.

JL, your drawing is beautiful. You are really talented. Hope your dog gets better soon. Poor guy.

Barb, why did you quit taking your meds? Be careful with that dizziness.

Mary, so you and gravy don't get along?? I would get irritated with that guy too about your wall. Did you find him or did insurance?

Tonight I went and had a facial. I had to get it for sensitive skin. Tomorrow night I go for a massage. I belong to massage envy and pay monthly and never use them. I have 40 hours built up. They will let me give one away a month only. I don't think that's right since I've paid for them. I'm getting ready to drop it and then they give you a month to use them.

Jodi said...

SLIN - Sounds like your brother should have the surgery this year, as long as he has met his deductible. I loved your artwork of your adorable neighbor! You really seemed to catch her essence!

Jodi said...

MARY - I know. I felt so bad for her. She was in the bathroom when I got home from work. She was trying to put a towel over the shower curtain rod and lost her balance. When she came down on her "good" foot, she heard a pop. At first she could stand on it, but soon the pain started. While I was at the eye dr, I got a text from her that she wanted to go to urgent care. They open at 5, and we were the first ones there. Poor thing started crying when she was told she broke her 5th metatarsal. It's the small bone that starts at your pinky toe and goes to the ankle. She fractured it closer to her ankle. Her post-op appointment is on Friday, so we'll see what Dr. Rilling has to say about it.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - I'm glad Louis' procedure went well. I'm glad your bladder dr is not giving up on you!! I guess you haven't found the correct "station"?!!?

They gave Sam a post-op boot. It has a bottom like a tennis shoe, and has velcro to keep her foot in place.

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, This contractor is the one we have had before. He did my kitchen and new stairway railing. No problems then!
Give Lois a tender hug for me. Today is "hi5" day, maybe give him that instead lol!!

Jodi, I fell in the tub after my knee surgery. For some dumb reason I grabbed for the shower curtain! Duh! There I was all nekkid and all wrapped in the curtain!Thank goodness I didn't injure anything but my nekkid pride lol!!

A very old and sweet lady friend of mine is about to pass on. She has survived cancer and other ills for some time. She is tiny and very strong willed! She is again filled with cancer. They are taking her off her vent tomorrow and sending her home if she survives. I will try to visit her today if family allows. If not I understand. She always reminded me o one of those "Southern Ladies" Always looking sweet and perfect. Her hair was never out of place. She has had a long good life, so I can't begrudge her being tired of all the pain and going to a better pain free place.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Have you finished with the antibiotics for the ear infection?

Cats are so funny. It's nice that your alaem tech is a "cat" person and even Tara warmed up to her. As a teen, I once had a boyfriend that was afraid of cats. I've never understood that fear. Anyway, our cat would come striding down the hall and make a bee-line for him sitting on the sofa. You could see the anxiety building as the cat got closer. LOL

Giving meds to my dog is easy as I just have to put it in cheese but soaking her back foot twice a day is a pain.....a pain in my back, that is. She wants to lift her foot out and walk off, naturally. I shouldn't complain as this is a lot easier than it would be with a cat.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Your elderly friend sounds like a lovely lady. I hope she passes with peace and serenity. (((HUGS)))

My fence was done last week but I'm still waiting for the bill. I can't try to get half the cost from the couple that owns the house next door until I get the bill. I would like to get this all done with. I think paperwork is not this guy's strong suit.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Well, that really sucks for Sam. I once broke that bone in my right foot. I was wearing wedge sandals and stepped on an uneven section on a patio. My ankle rolled and that was it. After several minutes, it starting hurting like a mofo. Poor Sam. It's pretty bad when your "good side" is the one wearing the boot.

As for my brother....He's on a right budget and even with most of the deductible met for this year, there is still some surgery expenses he will have to pay. Under Medicare it will be virtually free. He doesn't know if he can put up with the painful knees for that much longer, though. He lives alone so whenever he does do it, I'll be going down there and helping him out for a while.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I'm glad Louis' eye surgery went well. Are waiting on him?

It's encouraging that you have more options with the butt monitor. You just haven't found the right setting, yet. I know it's difficult to be patient when you're looking for the solution.

In many ways, I think teenage girls are even more difficult to deal with than boys. I was very lucky with mine. My son did go through a very sullen, crappy attitude period around 15 years of age. Why do you think Em is now acting out? To compete for attention with Kayla? Or maybe she thinks Kayla's getting away with stuff so she'll do it, too? Maybe they need to be reminded that they don't get to make their own rules until they are paying their own way in life.

sacBarb said...

J/L, I have completed the antibiotic round for my ear and I think the ear is OK. The doc didn't tell me how long I needed to take the Meclazine for the vertigo, but last time I only took it for four days and the dizzyness was gone so I quit taking it. I figured this time it would be the same, but it hasn't totally gone away this time. It only happens occasionally now and it is nothing like it was.

I know what your brother is going through. I waited entirely too long to have my second knee done because I didn't want to be 'down' for a few months. I had so many things going on that I didn't want to cancel. Finally, I was in so much pain that I couldn't wait any longer. It was stupid to wait because there was no need for me to suffer that long. I didn't have to pay anything because I have Kaiser health insurance and it was completely covered, but I can understand your brother's dilemma.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I hope your doc can find the right setting for your butt thingy.

Jodi said...

MARY - Sam did the same thing.....brought the whole rod down. She wasn't nekkid, tho ;)

I hope your friend's journey is peaceful. Blessings to you and her family ♥

sacBarb said...

Jodi, So sorry Sam hurt her other foot. When it rains it pours!

Jodi said...

SLIN - I'm surprised Sam hasn't done that. Let's just say she isn't my most graceful child.

A hard decision for your brother. It's crazy that he even has to make it!! Makes me angry the cost of healthcare. My daughter now will be paying this off for quite a while. Even with insurance, her MRI has an out of pocket cost of over $400!!! The hospital estimated that she will owe over $1,100, and that's not even what she will have to pay the surgeon and Boyfriend Bill (anesthesiologist)!

Jodi said...

BARB - Thank you!

I'm sitting here watching YouTube videos of Prince. I'm devastated by his death. I fell in love 32 years ago when Purple Rain came out. I went to the theater no less than 20 times to watch it. The world has a little less purple magic today.

Mary/MI said...

Jodi,I was coming home from the store an hour ago when Purple Rain came on. I was fighting back tears all the way home :(

JL, Jim's brother in Boston has an in home business. It's quite successful. He is an inventor. One of his inventions is a contraption that can test the freshness of the inside of packages, like potato chips and many other things. Anyhoo, his sons work for him. The youngest was just diagnosed with the worst type of Crones Disease. His Dad thought he was covered under their insurance. It wasn't! They have to pay the Hospital $2,000 a "week" until it is paid off! They originally wanted $4,000 a week! I know Boston is a high rent district, but dam!!!! btw, I did not mistake the amount lol! I was shocked too!

Just_Lin said...

BarB My brother is thinking of knee replacements in both legs at the same time to get it over with. Isn't that what Judy G. did? Since he lives alone, he has asked me to go down there to help him during his recovery time. He figures he may as well do both at the same time because they both hurt so much that there would be no "good" knee while he recovers from the surgery.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Wow! You saw that movie 20 times? You really were in love. My daughter was a big fan of his back then, too. The man was definitely very, very talented and his death was an absolute shock. He was still so young!

Just_Lin said...

Mary My second husband had Crohn's disease and ended up having several operations where they removed sections of his intestine. It is a difficult disease to have. The weekly payments you quoted are absolutely obscene. Who can afford that? I know I couldn't. This is why we need a better way to have healthcare in this country. It shouldn't only be available to the super wealthy. That isn't moral in my book.

Jodi said...

MARY - That is obscene! Exactly what I was referring to. Healthcare should be affordable for everyone!!!

Last night I caught Purple Rain on MTV. Sam had never seen it. She was blown away!!

Jodi said...

SLIN - Such a body of work. His guitar skills were beyond. And I agree, much too young!

Jodi said...

I have this weekend off. Tonight we are going to dinner for my MIL and SIL's birthdays. Saturday night we are going out to The Hody in Middleton. My Aunt Jane's favorite band is playing. Should be fun!!

Best go hoist n rinse. Have a good day HOoters ♥

sacBarb said...

J/L, Judy did have both knee replacements at the same time. I don't know how she did it. I was told after my first one that I couldn't put more than 20% pressure on the operated leg for six weeks. That was in 2004, so by the time Judy had her surgery they must have had new procedures that weren't as restrictive. He will definitely need lots of help. If he does decide to do both at once maybe you can get some advice from Judy about his recovery.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I was thinking of contacting Judy to see if she could talk to my brother about her experience doing this. I think her parents kind of moved in with her during her recovery time. I won't be able to help him much in the bathroom so I don't know how practical it would be for him to do both knees at once although I certainly understand his desire to be able to do so. With other procedures on his knees, his prostate issues, and an emergency gall bladder surgery, he's been under anesthesia 5 times in the last 18 or 19 months.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Yay for having the weekend off! I hope no one from work calls you and that you have a fun weekend. I'll be playing nurse to my poor dog. She over did it the other day and re-injured her bad foot by scrambling down the deck steps chasing a squirrel.....twice!

Jodi said...

SLIN - Poor Ursula!! I hope she heals quickly!

Jodi said...

Yesterday was Sam's post op visit. When Dr. Rilling came into the room, all he did was chuckle. She needs to figure out a way to put up with the pain of the break, because she is not to bear weight on the leg she had surgery on for another 4 weeks. He did give her a lace up ankle brace and a better boot to wear on the foot she broke. She broke her foot in the same area that Michael Jordan did back in the 80's that took him out for a whole season. So she's in good company. lol!! He gave her PT to do at home for the next 4 weeks with her knee, and then she is to go to PT to have them work with her on her gait before seeing him next in 6 weeks.

sacBarb said...

Jodi, I'm surprised they didn't put Sam's broken foot in a cast. When I broke my foot a few years ago, they put it in a cast and at least I could walk on it. It was a flat cast and they gave me a boot to put on it so it wouldn't get all dirty. It worked very well.

sacBarb said...

J/L, I bet Judy wouldn't mind talking to your brother. He may be a bit embarrassed to tell her some of the personal hygiene things that concern him a bit. She is a nurse, though, and has probably heard/seen it all! LOL

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi....Barb and I went to the casino tonight in Central City to see Pam Tillis. We had reserved seats. It was a good shoe and they did a special tribute song Purple Rain for Prince. Can you believe it's the first time I'd heard the song? We had dinner and played the slots a little and didn't win. Actually Barb won $64. We went to the 9pm show do we got home about 11:30pm.

I don't know how a person could get both knees replaced at the same time either. I couldn't have done it. At the surgery center with Louis the other day they said they do knee and hip replacement there and the person always goes home the same day. I could hardly believe it. I don't think I could have done that either!! I must be a Whimp!

When I broke each foot at different times I didn't have a cast either but a boot. Jodi, I feel so bad for Sam. I'll bet she's missing work too. Good thing she has insurance.

Healthcare is crazy. I'm realizing it more and more with prescriptions since I've switched to MEDICARE. I hate how this iPad makes all caps whenever it feels like it!!

Tomorrow is breakfast and a pedicure. I'm having to plan nails, pedicure and hair so I can get it all done right before vacation.

Mary/MI said...

Dianne,I know what you mean lol, I have to schedule my mani-pedi and hair appmts around my trips! Vegas is coming up, hair done, now mani-pedi for next week. What a life lol!!!

I can't imagine getting both knees done at the same time! Jim had his hands full with my one knee lol! I would hate feeling helpless!

We had a last minute DJ/Karaoke job today. The gal called yesterday. I told her sure, after all Vega$ is around the corner!
It was an Anniversary party for her Brother and wife. He had been in the hospital for blood clots on his lungs! I guess he insisted on the party. I hope it wasn't because he was afraid he wouldn't be around long! It turned out to be a fun time. I love playing oldies!

Have a great week Hooters!!

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I never win when I gamble, so I rarely do it. When my high school friends and I go to Las Vegas we will probably only go to a casino once for a couple of hours. We are actually staying in Henderson, NV which is just outside of LV. I wouldn't mind seeing a show while we are there, but I don't know if the others are up for it. Menopause, the Musical is playing and I have seen it, but they update it often so I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

sacBarb said...

Mary, How nice to have a little unplanned infusion of $$$ for your trip! I would love to be at one on your Karaoke gigs sometime. I sounds like fun.

sacBarb said...

J/L, we have had some crazy weather here. Thunder, lightning, hail, and high winds. It made for a beautiful sunset, though.

sacBarb said...

Jodi, If Sam wanted to have something in common with Michael Jordan, I can think of a few things that would be better than a broken ankle! LOL She is young, so she will probably heal fast.
