Mary Oh, yuck about the freezer! Now that I'm getting close to leaving for my brother's and will be gone for 3 weeks, my washing machine has decided to act up. It's not too bad of a situation. Water continues to drip into the washer tub even though it is off. It was a continuous drip and I sure couldn't let that continue until after I get back on December 2 and the soonest repair person can come out is November 9. Anyway, I was able to unstick the valve that controls water going to the washing machine and turn that water off. I'll just have to open that up again every time I do laundry so the cold water can get to the machine. What a pain to have this happen right before my trip.

Dianne I'm looking forward to the movie and I have a coupon for a free small buttered popcorn. I feel like having popcorn and a Coke is a required part of going to the movies. LOL

Funny thing about the easel, it wasn't defective after all, my understanding of it was. LOL I took it all the way back to the store but when I looked at the other easels and saw they were also missing a hole in the back leg for a bolt. So then I looked more closely at the see-through plastic packet that held the bolts and wingnut hardware and discovered that there was also a hook shaped screw which I am supposed to screw into the back leg. That is what the chain going from the front of easel to back leg hooks onto so the 3 legs don't just splay apart. Anyway, I walked back out of the store still holding onto my previously purchased easel. What a waste of time that was.

Justlin, You would think the easel maker could have put that tiny piece on. Now get to painting lol!
Ugg about your washer! You are one smart cookie for figuring out how to stop the drip!
btw, I'm all for coke and popcorn!! I have cut way back on my coke, but I do imbibe once in a while :)

I need to go back and read area 51......

Dianne, Matthew likes to making his own hrs. All he has to do is open an app on his phone when he is available.I like that there is no money exchanging hands. the rider pays by credit card and Lyft pays his account. He keeps all tips.

Dam, I forgot to put the sheets back on my bed! I did Jim's and too tired to do mine. While Jim was at the Casino and Matt out driving, I took out the window air conditioner, which weighed a ton, put patio furniture in the lower garage, cleaned out the nasty freezer, washed and put away cloths, got the trash out for tomorrow's pick up,made beef noodle soup and got a few groceries. Poor Zoie is pooped too! She gets no rest when Jim isn't in his Lazy boy, and feels the need to follow me around!
I took a couple of Motrin. I think they finally kicked in.
Got to put those sheets on!!!................

Matts vitals from all the tests are good. Dr was very happy. All that treadmill walking did a lot of good. Now we wait again! The test results will be faxed to his specialist.

Jim has gone to pick up the new freezer. We're not messing with repairs. Too costly and not sure how long it would be before it zonked out again!

It is cold and damp this first day of Nove. Is it spring yet?
Later....

Tina Happy birthday! I hope you had a good day.

Hello all you beautiful Owls. Thank you all for the nice birthday cards. I had my mail held while I was gone and I got it all today. It was so nice of you all to think of me. I am really an old broad now as I turned 75. The upside of that is, I didn't have to take off my shoes going through security at the airport. Apparently that is the magic age for shoes! LOL

I was supposed to have an MRI today, but I got a call on Monday from the MRI department asking me about my pacemaker and the one I have is not compatible with the MRI machine, so my appointment was cancelled. My doctor is our until Nov. 7, so I have to wait until then to get my options. The MRI guy said there are other ways they can get what they need. The MRI I had before my first back surgery was before I had a pacemaker, so it wasn't an issue then. Some pacemakers are compatible and I wonder why they just don't make all of them compatible.

Mary, I feel your pain about the freezer. We had a freezer that died when we had 1/2 beef in it and it was a real mess. Luckily my Mom had a freezer so with our refrigerator freezer and my Mom's we were able to save our meat, but we lost some other stuff, like veggies and ice cream. Well, the kids invited some friends and they happily ate most of the ice cream, but they drew the line at the veggies.

Dianne, We watched that Denver game and I agree it wasn't pretty. Neither was the Raider game!

J/L, I'll have to go back on FB to look for your painting. I wasn't on the internet too much while I was in San Diego, so I missed it. When do you leave for SoCal? You should have nice weather while you were there. It was hot in San Diego, for San Diego. They aren't used to temps in the 80's/90's. We had a bonfire on the beach on Friday night and watched the sunset and it was really nice. All but four of the family came out for it. The four that didn't make it drove to SD and didn't get to San Diego until midnight. We had a total of 25 at the reunion and it turned out great. Didn't even have any drama, which was a miracle!

Ok, SaBarb & JusLin, you two are "gas-lighting" me! No wonder I am so confused! I was wondering why SacBarb was going to SoCal, when she just got back from San Diego! Oh Lort, I need to recharge my old lady battery! LOL!!

Today was pretty uneventful. Just ordinary house wify stuff. Zoie and I went for a ride to the local Farm & Tractor supply store. They let pets on a leash in there. We bought her some treats and a new fur toy. I had to stop at the laundry-mat. I had dropped off our quilted bed spread, the gal in there does it for me. I have it washed a couple times a year. My girlfriend made it to fit our bed. I love it! She has a huge quilting machine that costs in the thousands! Some peeps hobbies are expensive! I'm sure none of us would admit to it lol!! She even built a huge building next to their new garage to accommodate all her material and many sewing machines. She worked the same place I did. She has no intention of leaving any of her hard earned money to anyone lol! Enjoy while above ground I always say!

Hi.....WELL dang...I gained this week and I didn’t think I was going to this time. Next week will be hard as I’ve already started bday celebration lunches. Two ice creams today!

Barb, glad you had a fun trip. No, both our teams looked terrible this week. We are changing QB this week. I don’t think it will make much of a difference but we shall see and hope. Nice turnout for your reunion. Lol about no drama. Sounds like a fun time. It was a nice way to celebrate your bday. they announced my age at the restaurant today. Yikes ..my friend told them before i arrived. I group of three older women at another table came over on there way out and sang to me. ...very sweet.
I sure hope you don’t have to have more surgery. Weird about the MRI. Are you in pain?

JL, when are you leaving? I keep forgetting. I know it’s soon. Bummer about your washing machine. Glad you were able to temp fix it. Did you go to the movie and dinner? What did you think? There are some decent movies coming up.

Mary, your quilt sounds nice. I have a couple of friends that quilt too. Mary do you think you should be lifting some of those heavy Things? You do so much around your house....quite the busy lady. I only wish I had some of your energy. Just be careful.
I’d get a new freezer too. No point in worrying about it again. So glad Matt’s tests came back good. I hate the waiting.

Happy belated birthday Tina but I did send you a fb birthday message. I think you might have turned 50.

Tomorrow night we are driving out to Todd’s area about 45 min from here and go to both boys games one is at 4 and the other at 7. Long time but last games. Hope it’s not too cold.

Ok...it was freezing at second game. I’m hardly ever cold. I didn’t think my feet would ever thaw out. We won the first and Lost the second. One grandson happy the other one not so much plus he’s a senior and it was his last game. He and mom were emotional.

Today Tammy took me to lunch and a craft show. I’m love to go but I can’t walk them anymore. I spent too much $$! It sure gets you in the
Christmas mood. There are so many cool things.

What are you all doing?

Barb It sounds like your family reunion was a smashing success. I don't know if 75 is the magic age for shoes but if your boarding pass said Pre-TSA check you don't have to take off shoes. I'm almost always in the Pre-TSA check line now. It sure makes things easier.

Have you caught up with DWTS yet? It was a really cute episode Tomorrow night each couple will have a 3rd partner with them....someone from a past season. That puts a lot of pressure on the third dancer as I'm sure they don't want to mess it up for the primary couple.

I only had about 35 kids for Halloween and I was ready for much more. Fortunately, I found people to pawn off most of my extra candy. I did keep some extra Snickers and M&M's though. I shouldn't have done that.

That is kind of weird about the MRI machine but it is sure good they figured out it was incompatible before you got there. Any news on what happens now?

I went to a paper collage class yesterday. It was from 9 to 3. I had to set my alarm to make sure I was up in time. I woke up 9 minutes after the alarm was supposed to go off. I had accidentally set the alarm for p.m. instead of a.m. Yikes! Anyway, I had fun at the class but it is very tedious work and none of us got more than a little bit of work done on our individual projects. We are using paper from these high-grade art magazines so the paper is of good quality. At the end of class we were all ripping pages out of the magazines looking for the colors we will need to finish our work. I hope I brought home enough. My back is bothering me today as I worked on my picture at home last night, too. So many hours looking down did a number on me.

Mary I'm glad Matthew's test results came back good. What happens now?

How are you liking your new freezer? I went ahead and cancelled my washer repair service for now. I tried to reschedule it but they didn't have their December schedule yet. I thought that was weird. Then I see last night that Sears is shutting down a but of their stores and my appliance service contract is through Sears. I hope this doesn't impact me and my contract. At least the machine works. I just have to remember to turn the valve to allow cold water to get to it. My memory sucks but I think I can remember that. LOL

That lady's quilting workroom must be impressive. Yesterday the woman teaching the collage class took us in to her studio there at the art center. It was really cool. She's done so many interesting things. She used to do a lot of bronze sculptures and iron works that had to be welded. Now she does more with fabrics and makes dyes from plants and does some really cool stuff. She's been an artist all her adult life and has worked on some big projects for various institutions. It doesn't pay the bills, though, so she also is a substitute teacher.

Dianne You're not alone with the weight gain. I'm not doing well at all and I expect it's only going to get worse when I am down at my brother's. I seem to be eating what's easy rather than what's good for me. I'm not tracking, either. I'm going to have to get serious about this diet thing once I return from SoCal. I go this coming Saturday and don't return until Dec. 2.

I still haven't made it to see that movie, darn it! My friend had an unexpected minor surgery that morning so she wasn't feeling up to it. Maybe we will make it this Monday or Tuesday. I have a hair appointment this week and will need to get my nails done before my trip, too. I'm not sure what's happening with my dog. Either I am taking her up there on Thursday or my daughter is coming down the day I leave in order to get her and her supplies.

JL, The freezer is ok, but not my choice. Jim took off by himself to get it. He just took the smallest & cheapest. We didn't really need a big one, but I would have picked a frost-free and one with a light inside! He thought they all came frost-free. Oh and he bought a mini chest type freezer for back up. Oh well. He did pay for them lol!

Matthew will be waiting to hear from the specialist. Wait, wait, wait! I was hoping it would be (the surgery) before the bad weather hits! He will be at a Grand Rapids hospital and I am not fond of that drive to mid-town, especially for all his therapy. Weather close to Lake Michigan can be horrid!

Well, my after dinner walks are no more :(. It is dark before I even get the dishes off the table! At least I have my wrap around deck to walk and do my Tai Chi.

I am watching HGTV. They are in Hawaii! I wish I was there. I am sure I couldn't afford to live there though!

Did someone use the 4 letter word again? d-i-e-t?? That's as bad as s-n-o-w lol!
