Just wanted to check in and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We bought a turkey and Chad was going to smoke it, but I have come down with the creeping crud and have been coughing my head off. So, we are going to wait until I am better to cook the bird. Arch is going to his Mom’s, I will be eating Chicken soup and Chad will be eating left-over pulled pork made from a pork butt he smoked over the weekend. I hope everyone has a great meal and Mary, I hope someone is cooking for you. Love you all.

SacBarb, so sorry you have the cruds!!
My son Matthew is down too. While Jim & I were at our appointments on Wed. Matthew was in the kitchen when he starting coughing so bad that he passed out! Fell on his hand and hit his head on the floor. He has a bad bruise on his forehead and we think his hand is broken.I am taking him to ER tomorrow.
I cooked a full Thanks Giving meal. It really did me in. I went right to bed after, and for the first time in days, I slept 3 hrs straight. I switched from Motrin to Tylenol because my always faithful Motrin has failed me! The Tylenol and maybe the tryptophan from the turkey gave me a huge respite from pain! As soon as my head hit the pillow I felt a weird sense of peace and slept like a baby!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. We had a nice day on a paddlewheel boat with lunch and a great show. Tonight we went to the Andy Williams Moon River Theater. We saw Jimmy Osmond and the Lennon sisters and some others for a beautiful Christmas show ending with a video of Andy and group singing moon river. It brought back a lot of memories. The weather was nice today too.

Mary Mary.....what are we going to do with you? So the dr says you can be driving after a week? You should have driven a cart in the store if you needed to go. You help so many people, I’ll bet if you asked someone to help you they would be glad too. How I wish (for the hundredth time) we all lived closer. That’s awful about your son. I hope his hand isnt broken. How was Jim’s dr appt? In case you can’t see me...I’m putting you to bed and grounding you to your room!

Barb, oh gosh your sick too! Miserable to be sick on any day but especially a holiday. I hope you start feeling better soon so you can have that turkey. I’m glad your son is there while you’re not feeling well.

JL, I know you’re cooking today for your brother. I hope you’re feeling ok as you said you thought you were coming down with a cold. I hope your day and weather was nice.

I brought my Christmas cards to do while I was here but haven’t even opened the box so I won’t be one of the first this year. When we get a chance between shows in the afternoon....I take a nap.

Hope everyone starts feeling better soon.

Hi, Hooters. It appears that Dianne is the only healthy one during this Thanksgiving. There is no Wi-Fi here so I have to make this short .

Dianne, I'm glad you are healthy and having a good time on your trip .Those Christmas shows must be putting you in a holiday mood. I'm not there, yet. Maybe I will take down fall decor and put up Christmas stuff. I needed to start writing cards, too.

Mary, You work too hard. Did they not give you something stronger for pain? I hope it's getting better every day .That is scary about your son .How is he feeling? It's happened to me before that I have coughed so much I have trouble catching my breath .I've never passed out, though.

Barb, How are you doing with your cold? I still have tons of congestion and continue blowing my nose and coughing. Fortunately, I have not passed it on to my brother .I don't feel that bad but the continuous coughing is wearing me out . Are you making your turkey this weekend?

SacBarb, Matthew said he took too high a dose of NyQuil. He said he new better, but wanted to knock the cruds out fast! He rarely gets sick, but I think being around kids (bus driving) all day, he was bound to catch something! He said some kid behind him kept coughing without covering his mouth! Hopefully he will build up an immunity! He has to call Monday to confer with a specialist. He did break some bones in his hand. He will either only have to wear a cast, or may have to have some corrective surgery.

I am thinking most of my pain is coming from all the bruising where they must have clamped me down and where they had the tourniquet.I also think the home care peeps worked me way too hard the few days after surgery. May be all of the above lol! I am still getting 2 hrs on and off sleep. I wish it was late Dec. I am sure I will be be-bopping around by then! :)

Mary....you didn’t answer my questions. I sure hope you’re feeling better each day. I think about you each day and pray too! I hope Matthew doesn’t have to have surgery. Will this effect his job? Late December will be here before you know it. It’s already a month from tomorrow for Christmas!

JL, I’m sorry you’re coughing so much....that is so miserable. When pulmonary dr finally put me on inhaler twice a day my forever cough hasn’t come back...finally. Yes, I’m totally in the Christmas mood with all these shows. Today we saw Jerry Presley, Elvis’s cousin. He looks like him and has a twin too. We went to half Elvis gospel and half Christmas. It was a really good show. Tomorrow is Frankie Avalon and then we head home Monday am. I hate to leave....I think I could be on vacation all the time! We are on weather watch..or more like i am. I don’t want us driving across Kasas in the snow that’s for sure.

Barb, how are you feeling? Up and around yet or not quite? I hope your son doesn’t catch your cold. You need to get better to start making those cards!

I’m pretty sure I’m gaining more weight every day and drinking a little soda too. Although, today for lunch (at 11:30) I had a blueberry margarita. I figured it was 5:00 somewhere! I barely drink but it sure was good! I had planned to share it with Louis but changed my mind after tasting it!

We ended up not leaving as the weather in Kansas was bad so we changed reservations there and here and hung out. No shows but did some shopping, went to lunch, took a nap and got Louis to help me (he put on stamps) get all my Christmas cards done. We mailed them tonight. I have about 20 to do when I get home as I ran out of cards. I didn’t think I was going to get to them as we’ve been very busy. The weather yesterday and last night was freezing. The wind was really bad and wind chill was 9. It’s still better than last June when it was 100 plus humidity.

Frankie Avalon was so good. He looks good and sings like he’s 20. He’s been married to same wife and has 8 kids. One son is the drummer and one of they Everly brothers son plays guitar so they played some of their music too. It sure brought back old young forgotten memories. He’s 78.

Mary, what did dr say about Matthew? Surgery?

Hope you three are all feeling better today.
