How about that! I’m the first!
I don’t really have anything new to report. I just have a few minutes and thought I’d check in. We finally had some good rain yesterday. It really came down for about four hours and today it’s clear, sunny and in the 70’s. We need a LOT more. Certain businesses are going to be restricted on their watering schedule.
Tomorrow I have an appointment at Kaiser for an ultrasound on my kidneys to see if there’s any change from my last one about a year ago. That one showed some cysts on the left side. Hopefully, they will still be “unremarkable.”
My niece’s father-in-law passed away on Saturday. His wife went to the store and came home to find him on the floor, already gone. He was 73. Very sad.

I hope all is well, at least as much as possible, for all of you. ❤️

Mary here, checking in!
Hi Barb, I see you are the first on the branch!
Here's hoping your innards are "unremarkable".
Sorry about the loss of your niece's fil. 73 is too young in my book! Of course the older I ge,t the more I think anyone near my age is "too young :(

I went to my Chiro yesterday to have my innards put back in place! My sciatica was a mess! It is much better, but the arthritis in my left knee is still hurting. It comes & goes. It gets so bad that it about brings me to tears, then poof, it's gone!
When I had my "Life Line "screening a few weeks ago it showed high risk of Osteoporosis.
I already have an appmt. scheduled to see my primary Dr for my yearly exam this Friday (April fools day)
Jim won another $1500.00 at the Casino yesterday. That's two this month. He gave me $100 each time. Kinda had to, I gave him money when I won the lottery lol!
We woke up to some frozen slush on the patio. It's supposed to warm up all the way to 50* today! We are supposed to have a guy come today,to put a new whole house internet thingy put on the peak of our roof. It's quite a high peak. We have too many trees interfering with the old unit. Matthew is off on spring break, so it is the best time to have it done.
Later,,, hope all is well with everyone!

Hi……well, I got the Mary nudge tonight so here i am. Did anyone else get it? We’re doing ok. Had fun in Estes park last weekend. Went to dinner with our friends up there. I got a couple of projects done like my “ when I die book ‘“: it’s all updated with songs, eulogy’s etc. i had to change some songs around to the Texas Tenors songs. I’m all set now. Weirdly Iv started listening to my songs. They are so nice.

Mary, how did your dr appt go? Hope all was good. Both my knees bother me when I get up and Ive had both replaced. I’m going back to pain Dr regarding my back and legs…no surgery though. Did you get your internet thing done? Still watching basketball in this house. I’ll be glad when it’s over tmrw night. I think I’m for Kansas.

Barb, how did your appt go? Everyone going to drs. It interrupts my social life. That’s really sad about your nieces husband passing away. We’ve had a little rain but not much. No snow yet.

JL, did you get a nudge?

We leave Friday for Kansas for the concert Sunday night. We will, stay in Hays, Ks , the first night and then on our way to Overland Park, Ks. It should be fun.

Not much more from this house. Seaside , Beverly and JL check in

Dianne, I only gave you the "Nudge" lol, I assumed you would pay it forward!
The guy who said he would place the unit on the other day not only didn't show up, but never called to let us know why! I have no patience for people like that. I called someone else and they got the job done. The guy must be half goat! I 'bout had a stroke watching him walk around our high peaked roof! He laughed when I told him that. He says he spends a lot of time on roofs.
It took Matthew all day and into the night to reset the wireless inside. That is something he is good at. I was off line until this morning.
We are getting heavy slushy snow today. Man, Am I glad no one is on the roof lol!

I got all but one of my tests back from my physical. All was good except for my bone density. I have to have another test done for that. I was off the scale on that. My BP was a bit up, but it has always been that way. She asked me if I had ever taken BP meds. I said no and have no intention on taking them lol! I told her to give me another option, which I knew would be "easy on the salt". I love my salt, but will try very hard to be good!
She said I needed to exercise more and keep moving! What? I told h er I rarely sit down except for my 'puter time! I do my stretches most days. I have slacked off on my hand weights and elliptical bike. Warm weather would help!! Come on Mother Nature111 Co operate already!!

Mary…not fair that you only nudged me. You need to go nudge the others too. I’m glad you found someone to do your internet. It’s maddening when people don’t show up. Did u tell your dr that you’re on the go all the time? I have to take bp meds. I did me have to do bone density until next year. .

We’re having really nice weather this week. Hope it stays like that in Kansas all weekend. I’m just about packed! I didn’t u pack too much from last weekend. Washed and put things back plus my TTT shirts. I wish my cousins were coming to meet us. They asked us to go,on a cruise in May with all of them. We can’t as we have to,pay in Oct for our Feb cruise plus big trip to Branson in October. I’d love to be going with them but….I like to go to Branson for New Year’s Eve as TTT are doing a show that night. We’d have to fly in and rent a car…too much and with weather…nope.

Ok Mary…..go nudge all the others. Night.

HI Everyone! I am late to the party as always. Just busy working and getting back in the groove after my Cali trip last week. Thanks for the nudge Mary!! Sorry to hear about your Sciatica. My sister had that and I hear it is very painful. Hopefully the Chiro fixed it.

HI Dianne and Barb!!

Cruising and Branson sure sounds like fun Dianne!!

Barb,
I left Sacramento in the rain on the 28th. Very unusual to see so much of it. I had a nice visit though with my sister and son. Also, got by to see Judy too and that was really fun.

Mary Here I am! You must have done a double take at your doctor when they said you need to move around more. What? It seems like you are never still. I'm practically comatose compared to you.

I went to the bank today to deposit my tax refunds but my debit card kept getting spit back out of their ATM. It kept telling me to put the card in horizontally which is exactly what I was doing. After a few tries, I finally went inside the bank. I had a discussion with the teller about the card and went ahead and made my deposit at her window and decided to get $60 cash back. Her little machine on her desk wouldn't print out a deposit receipt for me so she kept trying that for several times. Meanwhile, another bank employee asked for my debit card and she put in an order to have a new one sent to me since the magnetic strip wasn't working anymore. Fortunately, the chip is fine so I can still use it for purchases until the new card comes. I was in a hurry because I had an appointment in 10 minutes to get my car smogged at the station nearby. Finally, the teller was able to get my receipt printed and I was on my way. Later, when I was home, the teller called me to ask if she ever gave me my $60. Oops! No, she hadn't and it hadn't even occurred to me until she called. LOL I didn't feel like going back to the bank so just had her put it into my account.

Dianne How fun for you to be off on another trip. I take it Louis is doing well now and doesn't have too much pain for driving.

I also take a pill for blood pressure. I take a lot of other meds, too. My husband was 17 years older than me and I used to watch him filling up his day-of-week pill case with his variety of meds and now it's me doing it. I bet if I lost a lot of weight, I'd be able to stop taking several of them. That doesn't seem to magically be happening, though.

Tomorrow a friend and I are meeting another friend for lunch and on Thursday I'm treating my other friend to dinner. My social life revolves around meals.

Barb How are you doing? I hope your kidneys are still "unremarkable".

I don't think we got as much rain as you did but it happened mostly during the night for us so maybe we did. I just know it still isn't enough and there's no more in sight at this point. It's going to be another bad fire season.

Against my better judgement, I've continued to watch The Courtship. I suppose that's simply because it comes up on my recordings. It's kind of slow compared to the Bachelor shows but I suppose it needs to be.

I was happy to get my tax refunds in an expedient manner as the amount covered the cost of my property taxes. That was nice.

Bebbi I'm glad you had a good time visiting with family and that you were able to visit with Judy, too. It was gray and cold on the coast, like it was when you visited before. Maybe you brought the rain. If so, you need to hurry on back.

I was all settled in and decided to have a frozen margarita (freezer pouch) and on my fave "britt tv/ Poirot series, when Jim told me he was having trouble breathing. He looked horrible! He couldn't catch his breath! I took him to ER. We just got back 3 hrs later! They ran tests and took a chest exray. They gave him a nebulizer , and he started feeling and breathing better. Most likely due to his copd. I also found out he was using an out dated, non Dr approved breathing spray at night when he should have been using his Dr ordered one twice a day! I threw it in the trash and chewed him out! It was one of his late sister's med. The nurse also said it was doing him absolutely no good because it did not contain the steroid he needed. Men!!

I am pooped! Matthew had already gone to bed, & Zoie had not had her lasting outing! Such a good girl held in. Time to h it the sack. Jim was not coughing when we came home. I can hear him cough now! He just had a cigg!!!

Oh Mary! I’m so sorry to hear you had to take Jim to the ER. I don’t know why it is that men cannot accept when they are told that smoking is so bad! I guess they know it’s bad, but they just don’t, won’t, or can’t quit. My hubby tried to quit a couple of times and did well, but each time, all of a sudden he started up again! And it wasn’t slowly, either. He was immediately right back to two packs a day! Unfortunately, we both paid the price of his habit! I am praying that Jim will quit smoking!
My Dr. appointment went well. No change in the cysts in the kidneys. I do take a lot of meds for that and also for my heart and bp. I got a pill thingy that holds four weeks of meds, so I only have to fill it once a month.

JL, I had to get a new ATM card, also. It spit it back out when I tried to make a deposit. When I went inside, the teller took my deposit and made a new card for me right then! Your teller probably discovered her error at the end of the day when she counted out her drawer and was $60 over!
I got my and Marie’s taxes done last week and we are both getting a refund. I’m getting back a whopping $2 from the state. I laughed and said since it’s under $5 they probably won’t process the refund. Yes, they will and it will cost a lot more than $2 to do so, but apparently someone sued over not getting a refund that was under $5, and won their case! However, if $5 or less is owed, the State will not collect. Interesting!
It was nice to get the rain, but we do need a lot more.

Dianne, your trip sounds exciting. Where are going on your Feb. cruise? How long a cruise is it?
I hope Louis is feeling much better.

Bev, I’m glad you enjoyed your time in CA and you got to visit with Judy. Did you see her new foster kitties? They are so cute.
