REPOST FROM LATE LAST NIGHT

Here I am. Not much happening in my life so that's why I didn't comment sooner.

The turkey walked by my house today. I hadn't seen any turkeys for a while but it seems they are still around. I'd much rather have turkeys strolling down the street than have another skunk visit.

Tomorrow I will be participating in the neighborhood party. It's been requested that I make my baked beans so I'll be doing that. There will be plenty of good food and games and activities in the street. It's been warm lately but I hope it's not too warm tomorrow. Now that I have that skin cancer on my scalp, I'm more concerned about spending a lot of time in the sun. I normally don't sit out in the sun, anyway, as my body doesn't have a good cooling system.

Yesterday I went out to dinner with Jane. It would have been her 57th wedding anniversary. We went to a small Italian restaurant and my prawn dinner was delicious as was the creme brulee I had for dessert.

Wednesday I am having my nails done and Jane is coming over for dinner and tv night. Right now we've been watching episodes of A Small Light. It's about the woman who hid Anne Frank's family. Thursday I get my hair cut and Friday I have the surgery on my scalp. Not looking forward to that. Jane is going with me for moral support.

Hope everyone has a nice July 4.

JL, remind me again what they r going to do on your scalp. I don’t remember reading about it. Sounds like you r having a fun day today. I’d like to do that kind of a party. It sounds like you have a very busy week. I do hair and nails next week.

Im trying to fill up my week while Louis is gone although I’m looking forward to just some me time. I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to carry things from my car by myself. I also plan to watch a couple of movies. I made sure not to have any Dr appts while he’s gone. He takes me a lot now because of parking so he can drop me off I asked his kids what they have planned when he’s there and the younger one (47) said sit around. He told her he wants to have lunch with a friend and go to the water. They r boring there. They all will sit and sleep and sit and sleep….and that’s one reason I’m not going. My life is just moving along. I’d like these drs to figure out why I can’t breathe. My new heart dr pill is $158 a month out of pocket. I can’t afford that much. I’m calling dr tmrw. They don’t make a generic

Hope to hear from u all. JL, good luck with your surgery. Update me on it please. ❤️

Dianne, they found a spot of skin cancer on my scalp so it has to be cut out and my skin will be stapled shut. I think it's the stapling part that is giving me some anxiety. That, plus my husband went through this dozens of times until he eventually came down with a different type of cancer and that ended up killing him. I've got that on my mind, too.

So, yesterday's neighborhood activities were interesting. It was kind of a street pot luck. I made my mother's recipe for baked beans and they went over well. Next year I will have to make a bigger batch. Men seem to especially love baked beans. I got lots of kudos. I socialized for several hours but then I ended up having a bit of a headache probably from a mixture of sun, noise, and smoke. The guy a couple of doors up from me always does a ton of illegal fireworks and people come to our street that don't usually belong there because of it. Anyway, I was inside my house watching a show on TV with the volume really loud so I could hear it above the illegal fireworks and explosives, when I noticed things suddenly seemed a bit quieter outside. I could hear the "F" word being yelled quite a bit and I knew that wasn't coming from any of my neighbors/friends. I open my front door to check it out and there is a young man sitting on the curb in front of my house, surrounded by 4 cops. This kid was yelling and carrying on at the top of his lungs. There were two cop cars on the street. I see my friends across the street and go over there to see what the deal was. Apparently, the cops came because of the illegal fireworks a couple of doors up and this guy decided it would be a good idea to set off an illegal firework right by a cop car. One of the cops saw him do it so he was getting a $1,000 fine. The guy would not shut up. Yelling and waving his arms and complaining and swearing a whole lot. Our area had music going and someone put the COPS theme song on, "Bad boys, bad boys, watcha gonna do? Watcha gonna do when they come for you?". We were dancing to it and watching the shenanigans. It was hilarious!

JL, that does sound uncomfortable on your head. I agree about the staples. Will u be put out for this procedure? I hope so. At least they found it now and getting rid of it. I do know your thoughts r scary my husband died of sudden pneumonia for two weeks in hospital in a drug induced coma that he never woke up from. Worked 1/2 Saturday, coma Sunday. Gone two weeks later. He was in early 50’s how old was your husband? We’d only been married three years and together six years. Sad but a long time now

Hmm, interesting parties you go too . Funny playing that song. The police probably wanted to dance to Todd and family were able to get out of denver To Nashville. They will have a fun time Tonight they were at Jason Aldeans restaurant.

Remind me of the date for your head procedure please.

Where r our other two friends? I’ll remind Mary and you remind barb

Dianne, they will do the procedure on my scalp this Friday, July 7. No, I will not be knocked out. They will just use shots to deaden the area. I always feel like I need my hair to be nearly perfect and this is going to screw that up, big time. LOL

My husband was 17 years older than me and passed away in 2007 and was 5 months short of 77. We were together for 30 years and married for the last 6 1/2.

JustLin, I can't believe you think you have nothing to say. I always find you and all my owlettes very interesting. I love hearing all about what has, or is, going on in your lives.
It is weird that I am closer to you all then any friends around here lol! Living in redneck area to boot! Most are good people, we just don't have a lot in common. I even quit going to my VFW meetings. Same ole. same ole! They never want to do anything for the community. That really bugs me. I have known many of them for over 45 yrs.
I will say a prayer for your cute noggin' :) . I remember Raquel had a good sized spot on her scalp. She sunbathed a lot. I mean a lot! It was a dark spot. Thank goodness it was removed and has had no recurrence since.

Dianne, Your brother's family sounds a bit boring lol! I hope they at least take Louis to a nice lake. I am the same as far as water. I love staring into the ocean or any lake. That is why I love cruising. I sure would like to go again!
I hope someone will be looking in on you while Louis is gone. Sometimes (often lol) I wish Jim would take a trip to see his family. I could use a break! If it wasn't for Matthew, many things would go undone here.
Jim kept putting off getting the brakes fixed on his truck. Matthew has been borrowing it to pick up lumber for projects. He said the brakes were horrible and he was a bit scared to drive it. Jim told him he didn't think they were that bad. Matt told him to pick up the supplies and he would fix them. After a bit of procrastinating, he finally bought them. Good thing, when Matthew looked at the old ones, they were about to disintegrate! His buddy had only replaced one side in front many years ago. From what I understand, both sides need to be done at the same time. Men!

Tomorrow is Jim's 79th Birthday. He will head to the Casino of course. I will be picking up his cake in a few minutes. He never needs much. He does love lottery tickets, so that and a card will be it lol!

Here I am. Sorry I haven’t posted. Dealing with my sister and her HOA pretty much takes all my time. Dean and Deb have been cleaning up at Marie’s on some Saturdays and even though that has helped some, it’s also caused problems. They do what they want to do, and when I ask Dean to do something specific, he gets all pissy. We paid some people to clean the bathroom and kitchen and they did a great job. I wanted her bed taken down from the loft so she wouldn’t have to go up the stairs. It’s just a twin bed and I figured he and Deb could easily get it down. They did get it down, but he whined about how hard it was, for days. Every time I ask him to do something, he says why can’t Chad do it! He has no idea what Chad does there, including the number of times he has calmed her down when she’s had meltdowns, even though I’ve told him. Last weekend it all came to a head, and he said he was done helping! So it’s all back to us! The HOA has made a decision that they will pay $5000 towards the plumbing issue and we are responsible for the rest. They have gotten 3 estimates which they said they will give us so we can choose one, but I haven’t gotten them yet. I don’t even know how much each estimate is. I keep calling and asking when they will send them, but my calls go to voicemail and they don’t return my calls. I’m so frustrated with these people!

Mary, Happy Birthday to Jim. I hope he hits a big jackpot.

Dianne, How is Louis enjoying his time with his daughter? I hope you’re doing OK while he’s gone.

JL, our neighbors across the street were shooting illegal fireworks in their backyard and they were going pretty high and making loud “boom” noises. Their house backs up to the levee and there’s a lot of dry grass/weeds along there. I was afraid it would start a fire, but I guess it didn’t, or if it did, they put it out.

Hi..Barb, louis doesn’t go yo VA until the 17th for a week..5 days. I’m very stressed about him having wheelchair help. I’ll be glad when he arrives. He leaves here at 6:30 and arrives there at 6pm. I just want him to use their wheelchair help. What a mess with your sons, etc.

Mary, it’s not my brothers family..it’s Louis’s girls and sister. They r boring. I’m glad I’m staying home. Tammy will go to airport with me in am at 4am to be sure he gets a chair. He should have taken an earlier flight without stops. Now he wants me to see if I can change it . Mary, my neighbor will help me with mail, etc otherwise I’ll be on my own I think I’ll be fine. He’s concerned about leaving me. I wanted to tell u all about my old hair dresser. She goes up the hill about every week. She was playing a slot and hit all her numbers and won 200,000 nickels which equalled out to $10,000. They went to another one and she won $27,900 so took home $37,900. How lucky is that?

JL, ok praying for you. I’d rather be put out! Well, that is tmrw so hope all goes well. Will be thinking of you.

Todds family is in Nashville for a little vacation. Ashton plans on trying to go to there in a year . He’s my little country grandson. My other middle grandson just made the deans list with a 4 point gps I’m so proud of him. Todd never even told me. I heard from liane with a picture of him I asked todd why e didn’t tell,us….” He forgot”. Pretty big thing to forget. Irritating.

Well I’m going to see if I can change his flight now. Talk later. Hugs JL

Mary, it’s was central city and Blackhawk in the mountains it’s about 45 min from here we don’t go often but I kind of would like to go soon. We eat on the way and then gamble about 20 min from there. Kind of a fun way to lose money.

Anyone heard from JL?

I have been super busy. I have barely had a chance to get on line. Took Zoie to Vet and got all her shots. VET SAID EXCEPT FOR HER HEARING, SHE IS DOING GREAT FOR A 13 YR OLD. I STILL HAVE TO HEAR BACK FROM HER BLOOD WORK. <----, not fixing caps lol!
I got my hair did Monday. Today I had to prep for the half beef we were getting. I gave a friend lots of venison, and almost outdated stuff. It was quite a bit and she sure was happy! She lives alone and shares with needy neighbors.
I did laundry, prepped my bedroom for plaster patching and wallpapering. Made home made tortillas for our fajita supper. Lots of dusting and mopping.
Tomorrow I have lunch with my GM friends...whew!
Bed time.

Mary, it’s our week. I get hair done Friday…nails were today. Expensive week. Have fun at your lunch tmrw. Glad Zoie is doing well sad that she can’t hear though. Is she totally deaf? Louis and I took a cousin of mine to lunch today at red lobster. I had to pay! We had a lot of errands to do and I was the driver to everything. Saves on my nerves. Louis is getting ready for his trip. His going is now a straight flight but leaves at 5:30am. It will be better than changing in NY. He was not good on Saturday. He had to have an emergency tooth pulled sat am and did walk to mailbox. He was collapsing when he came home. He was going backwards and I was trying to hold him. I couldn’t as it was dead weight. He was falling into tables to get to his recliner. My uncle came over and brought in the walker with the seat. He slept upstairs that night. He was ok sunday am yesterday he said he didn’t “feel right”: he couldn’t pinpoint it. Today he’s fine and doesn’t want to cancel trip. I asked Tammy if she’d go with me to pick him up Friday night but she has plans with the kids. I’m hoping the wheelchair person will get luggage and bring him to car. Todds been out of town for a couple of weeks and is camping with family until Friday day. She contacted him and told him he needs to step up and that she’s not an only child. He said he check his schedule. Never mind I told her…we can do it on r own. This gets really old.
