This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Hi. Wow no one has commented since before mother’s day. I sure miss hearing the day to day activities of everyone. Do u all think we can start using the blog again? I miss it. Well, now it’s Memorial Day Weekend. . What r everyone’s plans? I’m taking my ex sister in law to lunch tmrw for her bday. I’ve known her since she was 17. She’s about two hours away so we meet about an hour away. Sunday is ems boyfriends graduation get together…at a bowling alley. There are apparently tables we can sit at behind the lanes. It’s not a lot of people just a few of his friends and family. I personally think it’s kind of different but that’s what he picked. He graduation Friday from college and we were able to stream it so that was nice. My grandson also graduated from Colo state university Friday afternoon. The streaming was not as good as Stefon’s was in the am. We did get to see him walking in and then got to see him receive his diploma. No party for him so no announcements sent out for him. Once again, I find that strange. Em will, graduate in August she will walk in December in Arizona as she has received her masters online from Arizona State University. Summer walk is now and she’s not quite done yet. She will have a party I think in August at Tammy’s.. too busy and cold in December. Louis was able to qualify for 60 days home PT so I feel really good about it . He’s doing ok. Does his exercises every day and we go out for a walk epwith his walker. I have reservations again in Branson for Texas Tenors fan week. Last year we had to cancel I’m bound and determined to go this year. It’s going to. be a lot harder for me with him not walking and using a walker this time. But I can do it! I just finished a home chair massage for 45 min. It was wonderful. I had a heck of a time finding someone that didn’t want me climbing up on a table. The cost was the same if I went to his place of work or here. He brought his chair with him. It felt wonderful it was kind but kind of scary getting off the chair. I will do it again. The kids and grandkids r doing well. I think I might have sent something about my middle grandson that graduated already has a full time job as a general manager at a fitness center..so proud of him so how r u all doing? Barb, how r u feeling now? I’ll bet ur glad to be home, right? R u getting pt at home? Update please. Mary, how’s Jim doing? Still smoking I imagine p. Have u been to the casino lately? I went a couple of months ago and lost but feel like going back again soon. I’m trying to get Louis to go with me JL.is your daughter back from her trip? Have u and Jane been going out lately? We r finally getting some nice weather here except for the darn wind next to snow I hate the wind second. We’ve been in the high 70’s. Well, thats about all the news I have. I’m going to try and get u all to post too Bye….
Hello everyone. I am home from the rehab facility and doing pretty well. I had my two week check with the surgeon and he was pleased. Plus I saw the physical therapist. I’ll be getting physical therapy at home for a couple of weeks and then I’ll be going out out to Kaiser for Physical Therapy. I am not sure how long that will last. I will have to wear the immobilizer for another month and then I should be able to throw this sucker away. 😹 Dianne, how wonderful that Em is getting a masters degree. What does she plan to do after graduation? I know how badly you want to go to the three tenors concert, but I really worry about you traveling. I’m so glad that Louis is doing better and I hope you are as well. Mary, were you able to get your garden hole planted? It’s such a nice area that you have for a garden. My husband used to plant a garden and it was so nice to have fresh veg all summer long. I just don’t have the green thumb it takes to grow plants or flowers, but Chad has planted some flowers and they’re coming along pretty nicely. Linda, I hope all goes well when you meet the dog that you hope to adopt. He really is a cutie.
Hi all! I have been pretty busy here. Hopefully the rest of this month will be easier. Wed-Sat., I have been helping mu best friend with her garage/material sale. She is a great quilt maker. She had a large garage type building built and has completely filled it with all kinds of sewing machines and a huge quilting machine that takes up a third of the room. The rest is filled with material, from the floor to the ceiling!I put some pics of her sale on FB. That was taken in her adjoining garage. A while back she bought out a fabric store that was going out of business. It finally hit her that she has way too much and needs to get rid of a lot of it.I think she made over $6,000, and barely made a dent! We had to measure and cut what ever length people wanted. I was amazed at how much some of them spent! I think it has to do with so many material stores going out of business here in Mich. She will be having another sale in Sept. She lives about 30 miles from me , so It took a bite out of my day. Yesterday I had a full day. I had to stand with the VFW ladies Aux. at 3 memorial grave sites, which is another story. I had an out of town open house after that. Jim stayed home I don't think he is doing very well. I felt bad leaving him all the time, but I just can't see sitting home watching him sleep. He isn't smoking, but is paying for all the years that he did. I think that is the end of my running around!
Sac Barb, This morning I planted 8 Marigold plants in between my tomato plants. Insects hate the smell of them. Keeps the tomato worms away too. I planted Zukes, cukes, carrots, basil, mint(in a planter), thyme, Rosemary ,and still waiting for my pumpkin seeds to appear in my inside garden thingy. I have flowers planted in my little red wagon and in all the planters Matthew made me. I just beat the rain this morning. Mother Nature watered everything for me :)
Dianne, how is Louis doing? I think about you two often. I know how you love to travel (me too). Between Zoie & Jim I don't dare get away for very long. Matthew will be out for the summer so that will be nice. There is a lot of upkeep outside that has to be done, especially power washing the patio and resealing/painting it. Jim has had a few scary breathing episodes . He just can't do much. He has been doing a few things that worry me, nothing serious, just does things that make Matthew I wonder if dementia is creeping in. Take care gals!!
JustLin, I love your new dog! (forgot his name). Let us know how he is adapting. I have only had a couple massages, but loved them. I am not wanting anyone to massage my rolling "rolls" anymore. lol! How is your son doing? I have been thinking of him and praying all goes well. Your dinners sound wonderful especially the House of Prime Rib!! Yummy! I am drooling as I write ha ha!
