PATSY, THE ITALIAN FUNERAL DOG

by Dianne

An Italian woman was leaving a convenience store with her espresso when she noticed a most unusual Italian funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one.

Behind the second hearse was a solitary Italian woman walking a dog on a leash.

Behind her, a short distance back, were about 200 women walking single file.
The woman couldn't stand the curiosity. She respectfully approached the Italian woman walking the dog and said: "I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a Italian funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"

"My husband's."

''What happened to him?"

"He yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed him."

She inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?"

The Italian woman answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my husband when the dog turned on her."

A very poignant and touching moment of Italian sisterhood and silence passed between the two women.

"Can I borrow the dog?"

The woman replied, "Get in line."

Morning Glories!

LOL Thanks Dianne!

I have been watching the kids the last few days and find that I am to distracted with them running around to stay on the computer for long. This is wearing me out. LOL

Waving at everyone!

Good Morning Lynn - I know how it is. You have to have eyes in the back of your head to keep track of two little ones. My youngest grandson is two and a half and he is in to everything. He has even figured out how to turn on the child proof taps on the water cooler. He sure is cute though.

My advise to you is to nap every time they nap. You can't enjoy them if you are worn out.

Good Morning All Owls - I loved your blog Dianne. The ending surprised me.

Jack has just left to take my "fur babies" to the groomers. It is quiet here. I am trying to rest especially my eyes before tomorrow night. We are having a surprise party for my brother-in-law who will be 80 on the 6th. Not many years ago he was as handsome as any movie star. Six foot 2 and gorgeous plus being one of the kindest men you could ever meet. Joan made quite a catch. Now he is alone and not well. Life can be cruel.

We have rented a room in a nice restaurant by the water. It's funny. Years ago there were two of us, Joan and I. Now adding in husbands, children, and grand children there are 30. I guess we added to the population explosion.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. Love, Tinka

LynnD Look how pretty you are today! I know what you mean about the kids keeping you distracted and busy. It's hard to find "quiet time" with little ones around.

Dianne Thanks for the blog. I don't see you. You must be in the other room doing your exercises, right?

Tinka Are things improving with your eyes? I think my shoulder is getting a little better. At least it's not causing me pain numerous times a day like it was.

Hello from stormy Sac. It poured down rain all night and now we have some flooded streets and again trees are down. Sharon and I were going to see Breaking Dawn - Part 2 today, but neither of us want to be on the road with stupid drivers who don't slow down in the rain. The weather people say this will keep up for another four days. Ughhhh

Dianne, Thanks for sending this blog. It made me LOL until I realized that I AM the mother-in-law. I wonder if either of my daughters-in-law are in that line.

Lynn, time to call in reinforcements. In Sac, we have some daycare places that will take kids on a part-time basis and the parent can drop them off for even just an hour or two. I know some Moms who take their kids there when they want to go shopping or just to lunch with friends. It's a very successful business for the women who run them.

Tinka, I bet your BIL will love the surprise.

J/L, Did you have as much rain as we are getting? It's still raining here, but not as hard as it was through the night.

Here I am....breathless from my pt. I had a hard stretching workout today. My bend is getting better but that darn stretching just won't stretch more.

Tink, how fun to have a surprise party. I'm sure he will love it. Wow 30 people...you for sure have multiplied.

JL, glad your shoulder is getting better. See, those exercises do work!

Barb, rain rain go away ---at least it's not snow!!

Lynn, we have a day care place like that too where they keep the kids for a couple of hours. Gives everyone a little break. Congrats on first this morning too.

Dianne, that was a knee slapper! A very popular dog lol!!

I have been gone most of the day. I visited my Niece Raquel who is going to school to be a nurse. She has been stressed ou from working long shifts and a full load of classes. I took her out to lunch and took her to a grocery store and told her to "go at it" lol! It was fun watching her load the cart. I told her, "remember, you have to carry them up 3 flights of stairs to your apartment lol! She is always so fun to be around.

Tinka I sure would like to see a picture of your brother-in-law. I bet he was handsome! Have a good time at the party!

LynnD, it's been a long time since I have taken care of little ones. How long will you have them?

Dianne, It is so good knowing you are working through your pt so well! Keep s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g!!

Barb, I bet you are a wonderful Mother in Law!! They are lucky to have you :)

JustLin, glad you are doing better. Keep up the good work! You and the dogster working out on the floor today?

SacBarb There was a lot of wind and rain during the night. Fortunately, the wind died down and this morning was just steady rain. We've had rain off and on since. There's supposed to be another big onslaught on the way.

Dianne I've only done some of my exercises so far today. You know what makes me breathless? Getting back up off the floor after those damn floor exercises. LOL

Mary The dog isn't very helpful. Sometimes she throws herself down next to me and rubs her back along my side......Or she stands over my face with her Kong in her mouth.

Dianne I hope you were feeling better today. I still have to do the floor exercises. Guess I better do it since it's almost 1 a.m.

Yesterday was a long day. Our walk in freezer had to have a "tune up" and my store leader asked if I could stay while he and our asst store leader reloaded it. I didn't get out of there til after 2pm.

I then went and had my nails did. I had a nail that had cracked and they glued it before redoing the shellac. I hope it holds til it grows out. Picked out a pretty dark red for the tips. Made me think of my Aunt Karen. I always painted her nails "come f*ck me red" ;) She was in a nursing home at such a young age due to her MS. So anything I could do to make her laugh ;)

I was invited to a girlfriend's house last night for some early holiday cheer. She has a GORGEOUS home in our "gated community" here in town. Holy crap!!! She also introduced me to chocolate martini's. Total yummo!!! And could be dangerous!
