The Pickle Factory

by Dianne

Yossel Zelkovitz worked in a Polish pickle factory. For many years, he had a powerful, almost uncontrollable desire to put his penis in the pickle slicer.

Unable to stand it any longer, he finally sought professional help from the factory psychologist. After six months of intense therapy, however, the frustrated therapist gave up. He then advised Yossel to go ahead and do it, otherwise he would probably never have any peace of mind. The next day Yossel came home from work very early. His wife, Sacha, became alarmed and wanted to know what had happened.

For the first time, Yossel tearfully confessed to her his tormenting desire to put his penis in the pickle slicer. He went on to explain that today he finally went ahead and did it, and he was immediately fired.

Sacha gasped and ran over to her husband. She quickly yanked down his pants and shorts only to find a normal, completely-intact penis. She looked up and said, "I don't understand. What about the pickle slicer?"

Yossel replied, “I think she got fired, too.”

LMAO Dianne. Haven't heard that one before!

Dianne!! I kept trying to guess the punch line and missed completely lol!!!

Before I write anymore I better test lol...testing 1,2,3

Mary/MI said...

Yay, I can post!

I need to go back to area 51 to see if I missed anything.

We are in a cold snap here in Mich. My walks with the dogs are getting shorter and shorter! It was too windy to go far today!

Later......

Today I have to deal with the fact that there is a spider somewhere in my car. Yesterday when I was at an ATM, I thought I felt something on the back of my neck. I brushed and it and finished my transaction. I got back in my car and saw a spider walking across the front of my shirt. My immediate response was to flick it away. I have no idea where it landed as I haven't seen it since. I hate that.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Good grief....bwahahahaha!!!

Jodi said...

SLIN - I don't know why, but the song "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" was playing in my head when you said you saw that spider going across your shirt. Did you find it?

Jodi said...

MARY - Not so cold here, but it's coming. Along with snow. We are suppose to get 5-7" Saturday night. Boo!!!

Jodi said...

BARB - Has the massage helped? Peppermint oil is what helped keep me going in Oahu the last time. Mr. Yee had me mix it with Tiger Balm. Awesome stuff!!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi LOl @ Climb Every Mountain. No, I still haven't found the spider. :(

Mary/MI said...

JL, I hope you find the spider! I hate when mosquitoes ride along especially around my ankles!

Jodi, so far it has been light snow here. Some parts are getting heavy snow tomorrow. Walking the dogs has been challenging with the ice on top of the snow and my little Doxing thinking she is a sled dog dragging my ass all over the place lol!

Dianne, sounds like you and Barb in Den. had a good long lunch.

SacBarb. How are you doing? I had to up my Motrin intake today. The cold makes the arthritis in my neck and shoulder ache!

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi.....creepy with a spider crawling around. My friend found a dead mouse in the back of her SUV. SHE SMELLED SOMETHING AND started a search. She doesn't live in the country or anything and her garage is empty and spotless. I would faint if I found one in my car. I'd rather have a spider. How big is it?

Barb in Co and I had a nice lunch today. We got talking and lost track if the time. She's got some fun trips planned. Guess we had a lot to visit about as it's been about a month since our last lunch.

Well, we were supposed to have snow but hopefully it passed over us. It was it the 40's today so not bad out.

I need to go get a massage. I have a bunch piled up at Massage Envy and never use them. I don't know why as I do like and need them. Louis goes every few weeks.

Today was nail day. Looks like gas is going back up. I guess it was too good of a thing. We are at about $1.85 a gallon here.

Barb, hope you are feeling better. I wish I could give you some of my massages.

Just_Lin said...

Mary You be careful out there walking the dog in snow and ice. I am falling down on the job as far as walking the dog goes. I haven't done it in a couple of days. I have, however, hired a very fit young woman who is taking my dog twice a week up into the hills with several other dogs to hike the trails and run around off leash. My dog comes back totally exhausted. LOL I know this lady from my days working at the veterinary clinic. She used to work the vaccine clinics with us and she works a lot with exotic animals and helps Jack Hanna out on occasion, if you know who he is.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne The spider is not huge, thankfully, and is light brown. That's weird about the mouse in your friends car. It must have gotten in their via something else she loaded into the car. Can you imagine if it would have run up her leg while she was driving? Aagh!

I once transported a python in a closed cardboard box to someone in a city about 25 minutes away. The box was on the backseat of the car and I could hear it moving around in there. My mother was with me and she found it pretty unsettling. We just had the flaps of the top of the box tucked in under each other. I really don't recall if we put any tape on those or not as we did make sure there was plenty of holes for air.

Just_Lin said...

I do know the difference between there and their.

sacBarb said...

Jodi, The massage helped and I have scheduled another one for next Wednesday. I really want this to be gone before I leave for PS. I love peppermint oil. I also use it when I have a bad headache. A little on each temple usually gets rid of it or at least lessens it. I have never used it with tiger balm, however. I'm not sure what that is.

sacBarb said...

J/L, If I had to transport a snake in my car I would definitely be taping the box - a LOT!

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I went to Massage Envy because I had a $125 gift card that Todd gave me for Christmas last year and I never used. So I have money left on the card for my massage next week.

sacBarb said...

Mary, my arthritis aches in the cold too, though we don't have snow here so it doesn't get as cold as where you live.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Still no sign of the spider. It better not show up while I'm driving to Sacramento.

sacBarb said...

J/L, LOL Maybe you better set off a bug bomb the day before you leave just to be sure!

Jodi said...

It started snowing last night and hasn't stopped. Blowing like crazy, too! We are suppose to get up to 10" by the time this all done. Ran to the grocery store for a few things. They hadn't even plowed my street yet. No cop, no stop. Otherwise I would've gotten stuck. I've done my laundry, queso dip is in the little crock, and I'm just waiting for the game to start.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Wish i was closer. I'd love to just pick up and have lunch with you!!

Jodi said...

MARY - Why are you the one getting drug around? Don't you have men folk that can do that? Are you getting this latest batch of snow?

Jodi said...

BARB - From what I remember, it has camphor, menthol and eucalyptus oils in it. Kinda stinks and acts like an Ancient Chinese secret Ben Gay!

Dianne/Denver said...

Mary, I was about to ask the same thing....where are those boys that live at your house? You're retired and need to relax not shovel five times!!

Well, that was a different ending Super Bowl. It was a good game and a sad ending and then everyone punching each other! We went to a party and ate good food and the women kind of talked a lot. Good thing the guys were in another room.

Jodi and Mary, we had about two inches of snow that was supposed to be a light dusting. Roads were clear and sun out today but only 28 degrees.

How you doing, Barb? Massage Envy called me today to tell me I have 34 massages built up. I'll never use all those. I ne d to cancel but then you have to use them all in one month.

JL, did you have fun today? Any spiders around? It gives me the shivers.

Just_Lin said...

Sorry to all my friends who are Seahawks fans but I couldn't be happier about the outcome of the game. I'm not necessarily a Patriots but I was definitely rooting against the Seahawks.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne No, still no sign of Spidey. No webbing, no nothing.

I watched the game with a few friends and ate a lot.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Scary having to drive in the snow. Glad you're safe.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Scary having to walk in the snow and all that bad weather. I think the men-folk need to do more of the shoveling and dog walking.

sacBarb said...

Mary, I agree with Dianne and J/L that the men folk need to shovel the snow and walk the pup. Even if Jim can't do it, isn't your son there? You should institute a new rule - no work---no food! You need to relax a bit!

sacBarb said...

J/L, Unless spidy jumped out when you opened a door, it's still there. I still say you need to bug bomb the car!

sacBarb said...

Dianne, you can schedule a massage a week and have them all used up before Thanksgiving. Too bad you can't share them with another Massage Envy customer! LOL

sacBarb said...

Jodi, I like the idea of ancient Chinese Ben Gay! I may try it. I have some other oils, but not those. I'm sure I can find them, though.

Jodi said...

BARB - You should be able to find Tiger Balm at the pharmacy. I found it on Walgreen's website.

Jodi said...

SLIN - Days like yesterday, I'm thankful that I live in a small town. I'm also thankful I only have 6 blocks to drive to work this morning!!

Jodi said...

DIANNE - I was shocked at the last call on the Seahawks side. They were right there....RUN THE BALL IN!!! And it just got ugly after that. It will be interesting what the NFL's conclusion will be to Deflate-gate.

Mary/MI said...

Just checking in before bed. I had to make sure I could post lol!

Our driveways were drifted in this morning. My son got up early to clear them. He was almost done when our neighbor showed up with his big ole tractor and finished the job! He went to our new neighbor across the street and did his driveway. I love my neighborhood!

Not much else going on. Kind of a boring day. I am so ready for spring. I only have to get through Feb. Mar. and April lol!!!

night all!

Mary/MI said...

40, just cuz!!!

Just_Lin said...

Mary What a nice neighbor to clear snow for you and your other neighbor.

Nothing much happened with me today, either. I did run a few errands, including sending valentine cards and candy to the grandkids. I exercised so I'm giving myself a pat on the back for that.

Jodi said...

MARY - What a great neighbor you have! My street really hadn't been plowed properly when I went to work yesterday morning, but thankfully it had when I got home. The sun really helped to clear the roads, too!! I'm with you, so craving warmth and sun!! Bring on spring!

Jodi said...

SLIN - I saw the video of Ursula! What a great experience for her. And the area is so pretty! Did you happen to see the video of Jimmy the Groundhog from Sun Prairie, WI? I guess he wasn't too keen on whispering his prediction to the Mayor and bit his ear! Ha!!!

Jodi said...

SLIN - P.s. Good for you on working out yesterday!! I guess you could say I technically worked out, too. Had to shovel the sidewalks at work.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Shoveling snow definitely counts as working out.

I wish I could go on long hikes but my painful hip/sciatica just won't allow it. A friend of mine has a business taking dogs on active outings so I've signed Ursula up to go twice a week.

Happy Tuesday.

I started the day with a dentist appointment for my cleaning and check-up. I don't know what the heck I was thinking when I made an appointment for 8 am. I set my cell phone alarm just in case I didn't automatically wake up and even though I had 90% battery at midnight, it was totally dead this morning, so the alarm didn't go off. Good thing I woke up. Now I think I am going to need a new phone because it's not keeping a charge! It's not even two years old and I am NOT happy about it!

Just_Lin said...

Barb Can you replace the battery in the phone?

Mary/MI said...

SacBarb, Jim's phone wouldn't hold a charge either. It was time for an upgrade anyway so he replaced it. He refuses to give up the "flip" phone lol!

Jslin, good for you on excising! I bought my son and I the "fitbit" wrist-lets. We have challenged each other for the most steps taken a day. I whopped him yesterday and he whopped me today!
They sure are a motivator!! I got over 6,000 steps both days. Beverly is in our challenge too.

I gave Zoie a bath. She likes to sit behind me in my chair, soo, my arse is damp lol! I should have used the hair dryer on her!

Dianne,Loan me a couple of those massages!!! I sure could use them!

Jodi, It was a beautiful day today. I loved walking the dogs especially with no wind! We got some snow a couple of hrs ago. Just what we needed lol! You "7th floor lanai" pic warmed me...for a bit lol!!

sacBarb said...

J/L I use a heating pad after I put the peppermint oil on and it intensifies the affect. I am getting another massage today.

sacBarb said...

J/L, I have an iPhone and the battery cannot be changed. I probably should look into replacing it with a phone that has changeable batteries.

sacBarb said...

Mary, Kudos to you for all the walking. Lynn D. has a fitbit and she has been walking with her friend. It's good to have a motivator and someone who can challenge you.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, Is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on your theater schedule? We saw it last week and liked it a lot. The two stars were on American Idol's third and fifth season. They did a really good job.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I hope your back is even better now that you've had another massage.

I can't change the battery in my current Android, either. I could in my old one and I did once.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Not sure why that happened. At least I wasn't yelling. LOL

Dianne/Denver said...

Barb, no that show isn't in our package. We see Cinderella tomorrow night. I'm not that anxious to go but hopefully it will be good. Louis wants me to try and get Billy Joel tickets on sale tomorrow. I'm surprised as he doesn't like concerts. I think they might be too expensive.

Hi back Mary. It snowed last night but nothing today and only a dusting. Maybe 70 on Saturday. Back to the car wash. I can't stand it filthy.

JL, you are wordy tonight. Lol.

Congratulations Barb in Co ..Exciting you're going to be a grandmother!! You will love it.

How did the massage go, Barb? I was a little achy after mine this week and I get very mild massages. Only 33 to go. Hope your back is better today.

Jodi, what are you up to today? Working a lot of days in a row again? I'm already missing football...how about you? Quiet Sunday's ahead.

Well, dentist again tomorrow. Getting impression done of a bridge being replaced. Too much $$ snd too much pain. :(

sacBarb said...

Dianne. Cinderella is our last show. I have seen Cinderella at the small theater where I usher, but I don't think it is the same production. If it is, there is a lot of humor in it, like the step-mother and the step-sisters are played by men in drag.

Sorry you have to go through another long session with your dentist. You certainly have kept him in business.

sacBarb said...

J/L, My back is feeling better. Today, instead of a 90 minute full body with concentration on the sciatic, I asked her to concentrate only on the sciatic and I only got a 60 minute massage. Last time I felt 90 minutes was too long for me and I started to get a little claustrophobic with my head in that pillow. It was much better this time.

sacBarb said...

Waving a wing to Mary and Jodi. I hope you guys are keeping warm.

Just_Lin said...

I got my car serviced today (oil change, tire rotation, etc.) since I will be making the drive to Sacramento next week. They found that I have a leak in the water pump and a crack in the drive belt. It was too late in the day to deal with those today so I'll be going back tomorrow. It will be a $485 expense I was not expecting. Oh, well. At least I know about it before my upcoming trip.

Waving a wing at you all.

Dianne/Denver said...

Gosh JL, I'm glad you found your car issues before you left on your trip. How long of a drive do you have to Sacramento? Don't you hate car things?

Well, we didn't get to the show tonight. We had dinner and then we were in the parking lot and my friend fell in the parking lot face first. It is was awful and she was putting my travel chair together to help me with the walk. She tried to get up right away and fainted and went back to the parking lot. She broke her fall with her arms and hurt her wrist a lot. We made her sit on the ground until she felt better and then I helped her to my car. She was as very woozy. The other lady that came with us is In her 80's and just recovered from hip surgery. She and I insisted we go home. My other friend wanted to go to the show and even push me. No way..we wanted her to go to ER but she wouldn't go. I called her brother that lives with her and he was waiting when I got her home. He's on a cane so it was scary getting them both in and she didn't want me coming that far as it was full of ice. Soooo, it was quite a night.

Louis officially gave his notice to his two bosses that he's retiring next May. They already want a resignation letter from him. He also is taking the summer off..first time in 19 years he's giving up his classes. I think it will be so much better for him to get a break and he was told his job would be there in the fall for the last year. He was really happy today.

Well, that's been my day. Barb, glad your massage was good. Weekend ahead. Unbroken is playing by me and I'd like to see it before it's gone. We're also going out with eight of us for our Anniversary Saturday night.

Guess I wrote a book.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne That was a scary fall that your friend had. I'm glad everyone got home with no more incidents. Too bad you missed the show but I guess you all had had enough excitement for the night. I would encourage your friend to be checked out by a doctor since she also fainted.

My trip to Sacramento usually takes 2 hours or so. I will also be going to American Canyon to drop the dog off at my daughter's. I don't think that will take me too much out of my way. Plus, it will give me a bathroom break. :)

It sounds like you have a wonderful evening planned for Saturday night. How many years now?

I bet Louis is looking forward to retiring. How wonderful that he will get the whole summer off, too.

We will be married 12 years on Sunday. It's a record for me!! We are going to my favorite steak place.

I think my friend needs to go the Dr too. She's self-employed and was just telling us tonight that she hasn't missed a day of work in 20 years. I think she spoke too soon. I hope she'll be okay. We could probably change the tickets if there are any open but I think we will not this time. I am going to see if anyone would be interested in taking them as I hate to waste them.

JL...looks like you are double talking again. Lol

sacBarb said...

Dianne, How nice that Louis will be able to take the summer off. Kinda like a practice retirement to see if he likes it. Also you can see how you like him home all the time.

Happy Anniversary to you both.

sacBarb said...

J/L, It's a good thing you took your care for service. I may have had to come and get you. That's a lot of $$$ to have to pay, though!

Just_Lin said...

Barb I agree that it is a lot of money. Apparently, replacing the water pump is kind of a big deal. $176 is for parts and the rest is labor. This is a crappy day to have to drive back over to San Bruno to have this done. Storm brewing. So far, no rain but the wind is pretty ferocious. Normally, I would have just stayed in today.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I seem to be speaking with forked tongue. Actually, I guess my repeat posts have more to do with trouble I'm having with internet connectivity. I guess that's due to the weather issues.

Mary/MI said...

Well poop, I got knocked off again and I lost my comments. I had to reboot and lost my "copy and paste".
So, I'm just going to wave ~~~~
LOL, LATER!

Just_Lin said...

Mary I'm sorry you keep getting kicked off your branch. I swear it's nothing personal. ;) My internet service has been spotty for a couple of days and it's been very irritating.

Just_Lin said...

We are now in the calm between the storms. The car place shuttled me home while the repairs were being done on my car. We had very heavy wind and rain. There is damage to my redwood tree which means another expense when I call the tree serviced. I may wait to deal with the hanging branch as there is another storm that is supposed to arrive later today or tonight. All these last minute expenses are not fun.

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi...went for a very nice anniversary dinner tonight....7of us and the kids paid...even nicer. I had a yummy ribeye steak. The place gave us a little cake that said Happy Anniversary. 12 years ago tonight we were in Vegas with a lot of people waiting for the next day to get married. We had a nice little wedding in the chapel at the Riviera a hotel and a little reception afterwards. We had a big reception in Denver a couple of weeks later. It was a fun wedding.

Mary, I wonder why you keep getting tossed out when you post? Maybe the weather? Won't be long until you will be all warm and taking a dip in the pool.

Barb, I see you want to wear a bikini! You and JL should put them on for your drive and give those truck drivers something to look at when they pass...hubba hubba.

Where the heck is Jodi?

My friend went to the dr and she has a bad sprain on her wrist from falling the other night. I'm glad she wasn't hurt more. It was so scary. I think my niece and SIL are going to use our tickets. I called today and the theater exchanged them for me.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I'm so glad you had a nice anniversary dinner. Happy anniversary! I guess it's technically a day late but the sentiment is sincere.

Yeah, where is Hodi? It's not like her to be away so long.

Just_Lin said...

Mary I wonder why you have so much trouble posting here? Weird and I'm sure it's very annoying.

Dianne/Denver said...

Thanks JL.Your not late. Our Anniversay is today...Sunday.

I messaged Jodi and she said crazy busy.

I'm just up for a potty break..Bsck to bed.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Well, Happy Anniversary again, then. I hope you have a lovely day. There's wind and rain whipping through here. I've had issues with moisture getting into the back bedroom/office/storage room and handymen ripped out a bunch of drywall around a window. Now with the rain I can see all the places that water is dribbling in. Looks like I need to have someone caulk between all the siding on that side of the house. The joys of home ownership!

Mary/MI said...

Happy Anniversary Dianne!!
I hope this can post today! I am not doing the "test" thing just in case I only get one try again lol!

Hodi, girlfriend, slow down!!
Actually I am going to have a busy week myself. I have Vet. appt, dog grooming, friends lunch, and of course.. packing!

JL, I hope the caulking does the job! I know how frustrating those leaks can be. You have to take care of them before they cause mold & mildew!

SacBarb, I hope your sciatic is improving. I used to have that problem at work. One small thing could flare it up! My friend Don who is a masseur on the side, used to press my butt deep with his thumb. Worked every time, but sure drew a lot of stares lol!
Well I am going to hit "publish" and hope it works!!

Mary/MI said...

YAY!!!!!!

Just_Lin said...

Mary Right now all a bunch of dry wall is ripped away from around the window so I can see where the water is entering. Of course, we are also in the middle of another storm, otherwise I wouldn't be able to see the sources of it. It has already ruined some of the hardwood floor, which really should be replaced anyway. Since I'm leaving Wednesday and have back to back trips it may be 2 or 3 weeks until I can really get this worked on properly. The timing sucks! I still need to get a tree service out to deal with the damaged redwood tree, also. This is turning into a very expensive month.

Dianne/Denver said...

JL ..what is your other trip? How fun that you get to do do much. Oh boy, I hate water issues. They scare me as I had a horrible experience one. Bought a new home, in it for two days, the w Asher hose got a tiny leak on second floor and pretty much ruined my house. We had to move out for a month. I have nightmares of water issues.

We went to the movie today and saw Unbroken. Wow, quite a movie. It makes you mad when see it. There were a lot of older people in the theater and it was the cheap movie for $2.50. My friend Barb came with us.

Mary, sounds like you have a big week planned. We are having 70 degree weather. It's beautiful.

Not much more going on around here. We even tossed around the idea of going to the park for a picnic but it will be dark soon.

Barb, are you feeling better?

Just_Lin said...

Dianne After I return from Palm Springs and Barb's house, I will be home one day before leaving again. A friend who lives in a small coastal town in Oregon will be visiting her daughter in the county south of me. Another friend and I are going to drive with her back up to Oregon and spend a few days there. We will all watch the Oscars together as that has been our tradition for several years now. This is the first time we will do it up there, though. In previous years, we've watched the show together down here or stayed at a hotel halfway between us to watch it. It's just a fun, casual night. We fill out ballots ahead of time and vote for who we think should/or will win the awards.

Dianne/Denver said...

JL, that sounds really fun. I love girl time. It's so pretty in Oregon too. You've got a fun couple of weeks coming up.
Did you get that bikini out of storage? Enjoy yourself. I haven't seen many of the movies that are up for awards so I ned to hustle. I do think Angelina Jolie should have been nominated for an Oscar for directing the movie I saw today. She's not my favorite but she did a great job.

Watching the Hunger Games instead of the Grammys. Just didn't feel like all that music tonight.

My back was feeling better yesterday so I did some cleaning because I'm having company next week and today it is bad again. CRAP! I really hate this! I don't have time to go for another massage before I leave for PS. I guess I'll just hobble around. Maybe the warmer weather will help.

SLIN - Sam saw that movie and said it was fabulous! An assistant, or a clone. Lol!! Personally, I vote for a vacation. Hopefully I will get lucky with the Powerball tomorrow night. $450 million would make an awful nice retirement fund!

Jodi said...

Merrrrrrrnin' HOoters!!

Well, today is my Store Leader's first day back. She was on vacation in Mexico with her Mom and sisters. She was all kinds of bat shit crazy before she left. I'm praying a calmer Milissa has returned. The whole vibe of the store was so much calmer when she was gone. EVERYONE felt it!! Today is my late day, so I've been saying a couple prayers this morning hoping the cray cray stays away. KWIM?

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Here's hoping Melissa left the cray cray in Mexico. Hope you have a great and stress free day today.

Just_Lin said...

I'm packed for the jaunt to Sacramento and Palm Springs. Just having some coffee before getting in the shower. a couple of my acrylic nails started chipping yesterday so I am going to try and squeeze in a nail appointment this morning.

The tree guys came out yesterday afternoon and took care of the broken redwood branch. The weeping wall (LOL) in my house is drying out and that will have to be dealt with when I'm home from my trips. A bunch of the drywall has been knocked out around the window and baseboard removed so it's able to get aired out well now that the storms are over.

Jodi said...

SLIN - Are you driving up to Sacramento, then flying with BARB to PS?

Jodi said...

Fingers crossed she left the cray cray in Mexico!

sacBarb said...

J/L and I are getting picked up by the shuttle tomorrow morning at 8:00. I still have to pack. Guess I'd better get moving.

Dianne/Denver said...

Have fun Barb and JL. Hope you get a nice tan and it's not too hot.

Jodi, how did work go today? Hope it was calm.

Not much going on around here. Lunch and that's about it. Meeting my childhood friend or friends for lunch tomorrow. It is always a fun lunch and our weather is perfect. She has to drive two hours and I drive an hour to meet.

Night

Dianne/Denver said...

Oh, one more thing ...my friend that fell down at the theater last week when we went has to have wrist surgery tomorrow and two pins put in for six weeks. She's self employed so is kind of freaking out about her mobility on the computer.

Jodi said...

BARB - Work was fine. She was as calmer than I expected. I don't know how you can come back from vacation though with a nasty cold sore. Pufferfish is back...lol!!

Jodi said...

DIANNE - I guess you were the one asking about work. See my comment to BARB! It was crazy busy with that damn Powerball jackpot, though. When I left at 6 pm, we had sold just under $3,000 in Powerball tickets alone. OY!!! Your lunch sounds like fun. I love getting together with childhood friends! I hope your friend's surgery goes well today. I'd be freaking out, too. I hope she can find a way to get around on the computer.

Jodi said...

I just checked the Wisconsin Lottery site. Thank God....someone won that jackpot!!! I best go check my tickets!

Jodi said...

Ok, as far as I can tell I have to go to work today....sigh ;)

Dianne/Denver said...

Well Jodi, it's just us chickens left in the nest for a few days I guess. Did you win anything on the powerball? I guess I should have bought a ticket or two.

Had a fun lunch with my friend and a boy we grew up with and my brother came too. Peggy hadn't seen Bruce for 50 years!!!!they left after a couple of hours and Peggy and I stayed a couple more.

We are still having 70's weather until Monday....then the snow is coming so be ready Jodi!!' You know how I like to send you and Mary our after effects. Aren't you glad we don't live in Boston? I would hate all that snow

Jodi said...

DIANNE - I didn't win anything. Did Bruce behave himself at lunch? Ha!! Just checking in on a pitstop. My heart is heavy tonight. One of Jake's friends' sister was killed in a single car accident last night. She was only 17. We will be going to the wake on Sunday.

Jodi said...

P.s. You can just keep that snow to yourself!

Dianne/Denver said...

Oh Jodi, I'm so sorry about Jakes friend. It is so scary with the young ones driving. I know I worry so about my granddaughter. It will be very sad on Sunday. Hugs to you all.

Looks like Bebbi didn't make the trip. It's too bad after their planning.

Yes, Bruce behaved at lunch...he has been lately. Surprised!! We're going with he and his wife again tomorrow. Louis and I are going up gambling after the lunch. We thought it would be fun to do for Valentines
Day...you know go lose some $$. I really want to win some as I saw a clearance email ad today for Coach purses. I haven't gotten one for quite awhile and I'm getting the urge.

Still 70 degrees here and for one more day...then snow moving in..yuck.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Sounds like BEBBI had quite a day. Weren't she and MARY going to drive to PS from Phoenix? I wonder if MARY had to take an extra flight? Have fun today. Not sure what we are doing, but I have a hankering for the smoked prime rib at the restaurant Tim works at! And it's going to be super cold here. Wind chills below zero all day. UGH!!!

Jodi said...

Happy Valentine's Day HOoters ♥

Dianne/Denver said...

hi Jodi, yes, Mary ended up having to find a flight to PS from Phoenix. I guess she has a big room she got awhile ago when she thought Sue, Judy and Bev were coming. Things changed and of course with Sue sick. I don't know what happened with Judy things just changed. It's too bad. I think she flies back to Phoenix tomorrow and then home.

What did you end up doing tonight? That prime rib sounds yummy. We lost money or I lost money gambling. It as very crowded but always fun for a few hours. Louis gave me beautiful yellow roses and a necklace. It was a nice day.

Well, sounds like our snow is arriving tomorrow. We've been so spoiled with our Spring weather.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Paul got me a card like 3 weeks ago. He said he's usually late for these things, so here's your card. He also gave me a package of Ferrero Rocher hazelnut chocolates at our lunch on Friday! We did have an early dinner at Headquarters. I had the smoked prime rib. I ordered it more rare than medium and when it came out it was drier than a popcorn fart and hardly pink on the inside. Tim was in the kitchen and made me the perfect piece!! Pinkish red and juicy!! He should've cooked my order in the first place. It was served with steamed broccoli and roasted potatoes. I had eaten over half of my sides by the time they got my 2nd plate out, so I just had a few bites and brought the rest home! The waitress felt bad and brought me a $5 chip and a free Spotted Cow. When I woke up this morning, I found a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Sam!!

Dianne/Denver said...

Well, it sounds like you had a very nice Valentines Day. fun that your daughterer brings you flowers. ...fun and thoughtful

I'm on a potty break so back to bed I go.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Sleep well!

Jodi said...

Paul and I just got back from the wake. So sad...and it kills me to see Jake cry. The whole wrestling team went as a group. A parents worst nightmare. Krysta (the mother) hung onto me and just sobbed.

Praying our HOoters that are traveling today have safe trips home. Love u all....

Dianne/Denver said...

Sorry for your hard day Jodi. Awful.

Snowing here and it's been gloomy all day. We were getting used to the sun. Tomorrow will be snowing off and on and then roads will be bad. Hope I don't have to spend the day inside.

I cooked again today. I out a roast, potatoes, carrots in crock pot. It sure smelled good all day and tasted good too. Louis is in shock.

Mary, Barb and JL are you home yet?

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Thank you. Jake is going to the funeral today. Paul is taking him because I have to work and my cousin is in town from Ohio. She is staying with my Aunt Jane and we are going out for lunch today and shopping. Your dinner sounds delicious! It was our Sunday dinner growing up!

Mary/MI said...

testing #2

Jodi said...

MARY - I see you made it back! Did you test and poop out? ;)

Just_Lin said...

Dianne. Wow! Your roast beef dinner sounded great. You are really getting into this cooking thing. I better Louis is happy. You should take pics to document it.

Last night Lynn and Barb and I gambled at the casino for a couple of hours. Barb is the only one who ended up ahead. It was fun, though. We all flew out of Palm Springs this morning and I am staying at Barb's until Thursday. It was fun to see Mary again and I was very sorry the others couldn't make it. Lynn, Barb, and I did meet up with Kathy and her husband on Sunday and we had a great visit.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi. That is so sad about Jake's friend's sister. I can't even imagine the heartbreak. Hopefully, this will be something Jake never forgets and will make him a very careful driver.

Dianne/Denver said...

JL, glad you all were able to visit with Kathy. How was the party Saturday night? Did Barb behave? Missing you all on the blog.

Jodi, what's new? We're supposed to have a foot of snow this weekend. That does not thrill me that I might be stuck in the house for two days. I don't do well with staying home. I'm supposed to go see our friend in the band Saturday night but it's on the other side of town.

I keep biting my tongue. I think it's because of my temporary bridge and get the new one tuesday. It's all swollen. I bite it eating, talking or doing nothing. Gives me a lisp when I talk. Ouch!!

That's about it for around here. Hope everyone's doing okay.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne. I hate when I bite my tongue or inside of my cheek. The area swells up a little making it more likely to bite it again.

Yes. Barb behaved herself. We actually went to two parties. Rob invited us over for a BBQ on Friday and then we went to the retirement party Saturday. Great time both nights. Wonderful food and very nice people.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi. Barb and I had a marathon movie day. We saw The Imitation Game snd Still Alice. Both were excellent.

Dianne, Lynn and I made an agreement that she would be the designated driver ob Friday night after we went to Rob's BBQ and I would be the DD after the retirement party on Saturday. So I did behave myself!

sacBarb said...

Jodi, that's so sad about Jake's friend's sister and so young. Were drugs or alcohol involved?

sacBarb said...

Mary, glad you made it home OK. I hope you rested up for a day or two.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Paul and I went on a double date with Alex and Dustin last night for Alex's birthday. He was my former store leader and I just adore him. I had to call him yesterday morning, because I needed some help finding the correct report to help me balance our lottery. He was so sweet. Said I made him cry because I had called and sang Happy Birthday to him on my break. He said his mother hadn't even called. We went to my favorite place for french onion soup. They have excellent beer, too!! I had texted Dustin to ask what his favorite cologne was. He said to just get him a bottle of Fireball Whiskey and a bunch of the packages of Crispy M&M's. He loved it!!!

We are not having the snow you are, but very frigid temps. Can't it just be warm yet? I am so over this winter!!!

Jodi said...

SLIN - I haven't seen either one of those movies. Still Alice intrigues me. My maid of honor's mother has Alzheimer's. Such a devastating disease.

Jodi said...

BARB - No, speed was the factor. She took a corner way too fast and went flying and hit two trees about 15 feet in the air. Such a young life...so sad.

Jodi said...

I best go hoist and rinse. I work 12-7pm today. Should be interesting. We are meeting our new Zone Leader today.

Have a great day HOoters ♥

Jodi said...

sacBarb said...

Happy Thursday HOoters!

I just got up and J/L is still sleeping. I guess we were still tired from traveling. She will be going home today and I will be all alone again. :(

I enjoyed both the movies we saw yesterday. Julianne Moore did an excellent as Alice. I really like her. I've only seen a few of the nominated movies, but I'm sure I will love the Academy Award show anyway. I love NPH, too. He is so talented.

sacBarb said...

Jodi, You are working later hours than normal today. Do you have to do that often now that you are a big executive? ;);)

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi....I'm still biting my raw tongue. I go to dentist on Tuesday. Now I'm worried that maybe I'm allergic to something and its swollen. I'll have myself in a frenzy by morning diagnosing myself.

We are in for a big snowstorm starting tomorrow night. It is all the TV is talking about like we live in Arizona or something. All I can think of is being snowed in for three days. Louis went to store and stocked up on food. I may make a meatloaf in crockpot this weekend. Whoopee! !!!!!

Sounds and looks like you gals had a fun PS time. Movie time sounds good too. I think I might go see Selma tomorrow as its at our discount movie.

Anyone going to see 50 a Shades of a Grey? Or Gray? I don't think I will go see it. I guess I'm getting too old.

Long hours, Jodi. Are you working the weekend too?

I'll try not to send this blizzard to Jodi or Mary but no promises.

Guess I'll watch Nightline and inside Addition and then go to bed ...Ho hum.

Jodi said...

BARB - It was requested by our District Leader that I work one late shift a week. I gotta say, it's tough. I've done the early shift for over 8 years and my body kinda shuts down in the afternoon. Thank God for our Karuba Gold Espresso drinks!!

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Yes, it is my weekend to work. I have today off and Angie's fiance Jonathan is making us breakfast after I take the boys to school! He is quite a chef and is making me something that involves Spam!!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Well you know Spam is really big in Hawaii thanks to our Navy. I remember my mother would occasionally make us fried Spam sandwiches. They were good. It's just chopped up ham.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Here's hoping you don't get hit too hard with snow. Meatloaf in a crockpot? That sounds interesting. I should do more with my crockpot.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Now I have to get into my same old boring routine. Well, I do have to deal with that back room that now has dry wall ripped away from around the window and I assume I need to replace siding on the outside. That's not routine, thankfully.

Jodi said...

SLIN - Love Spam! It was nice spending a couple of hours with them. After work today is their couples shower in Madison. They were smart and registered online. I just sent their gift directly to Kauai!

Dianne/Denver said...

Hate Spam. Icky. Well, it's a raging blizzard here right now. It didn't start until late afternoon and now it's up to 16". Cars are stuck everywhere. I got out for late breakfast but home before major snow and I'm glad to be here. Looks like here I will be tomorrow too. This is supposed to last until tomorrow night and then another one on Thursday. We are lucky that it melts fast and that I'm leaving her a week from Tuesday for Texas for two weeks. I hope the weather will be perfect when I'm there.

JL, meatloaf in a crockpot turns out good. I'll be making it tomorrow. Louis will be shocked again. I've been cooking about once a week. I'll be running out of crockpot things before long.

My daughter went with friends to see a fifty Shades of Grey. I'll be interested to see what she thought of it.

Tomorrow night The Oscars. JL, don't you go to a girl party for this every year? Have fun. I tried to go see Selma yesterday but never made it. I still plan on it.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne You be careful going out in that snow. I assume you will have warmer weather in Texas.

Yes, I do get together with a friend or two for the Oscars. This year Jane and I were supposed to go up to Oregon to Diane's house to watch the show and visit for a few days. Well, that plan went out the window because Jane's hubby is in a lot of pain in his back and leg. They think it may be sciatica but he is having more tests run on Wednesday. At this point, he is on codeine for the pain so Jane doesn't feel comfortable leaving him alone for so long. The new plan is that Jane will come over to my house and the two of us will watch the Oscar show together.

Dianne/Denver said...

I'm in today...too much snow and still snowing. Have my meat loaf cooking and I've been pretty much napping all day when I should be getting our tax things ready for Friday. Smells yummy in here. I even set alarm to get up and get the meat in the crockpot timely.

Jl, sorry your travel plans fell through. That's always a bummer to have to cancel. I hope your friend's husband gets better.

I'm trying to get Louis to take me to my knee dr tomorrow with all the snow. He thinks roads will be fine but I'm hesitant. Even the walking in the parking lot when he could drop me off. We shall see.

sacBarb said...

One of my Jennifer friends came over today and we made cards until the Oscars were on, then we watched them together. I think NPH did a better job last year.

I loved Lady GaGa's performance.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I hope you talk Louis into taking you to your doctor appointment.

Btw, there are a lot of crock pot recipes online. :)

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Love meatloaf!! Please share the crock pot recipe! I hope you don't have any problem getting to your appointment!

Jodi said...

SLIN & BARB - I didn't watch the Oscars, but did catch Lady Gaga's performance online this morning! Wow!!

Jodi said...

Best get prettied up for work. Thankfully I have a short shift today and Tuesday off! After work yesterday I went to a Fundraiser for AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin. It was a Bingo event called Camp Blingo! My friend Aaron (a local radio DJ) and Christine (morning anchor on our NBC affiliate) were pulling the balls. Christine and I have been FB friends for years, but this was the first time we ever had a chance to talk in person! It was pretty great. She knew exactly who I was and was gracious enough to take a selfie with me and bought me a Spotted Cow!

Have a great day HOoters ♥

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi.DEcided to reschedule dr appt.. Bad part their first opening is APRIL 23 at 8:30 in the morning. I'm glad I'm not in pain or anything.

I seriously have to get out tomorrow. I have bad cabin fever. They are predicting more snow Wednesday and then for the weekend. I sure hope I can get out on my flight Tuesday.

I liked the Oscars last night. I think Ellen did a better job though. I loved Tim McGraw and Lady GaGa. I wouldn't have even recognized her. I wish some of the movies I'd seen received more awards...like Unbroken.

Jodi, how fun that the lady knew you plus bought you a drink!!!!

Well, I sure don't have much to say. I have gotten lots of sleep and that's s about it.....

Just_Lin said...

Dianne You have low tolerance for staying inside, don't you? I didn't get much accomplished today but I did go outside. I had to fill my car up with gas and I took a couple of cards to the post office to get mailed. I had dinner out with a friend. I was bad and had today's special; chicken fried steak. My dog got some good exercise today, though. She got to go with her new pals up into the hills and run around and play in great big puddles. She was exhausted when she was brought home and has been sleeping the rest of the day.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Waving a wing at you. It sounds like you had a blast at the fundraiser.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Where for art thou?

Just_Lin said...

I agree about NPH. Lady Gaga did a great job. Before her performance, NPH introduced her by saying it would be what everyone would be talking about the next day. He was sure right about that!

Dianne/Denver said...

JL, no I can hardly stand to not have something to do each day. It gets me depressed and I just lay on the bed all day. Tomorrow I go to the dentist....now that I could do without!! I do have to say I got all our tax information ready for our Friday appt. and that took me quite awhile adding up medical receipts.

Did I tell you my meatloaf turned out perfect? Jodi, I just make a regular one with a couple of eggs, breadcrumbs , and it said a package of onion soup but I didn't have one so put my own spices in it. A half an hour before taking it out..a 1/2 cup of ketchup on top and cook on low. I cooked the whole thing on low all day. I have made it before with a can of cheddar cheese soup mixed in..that's good too. I have to wear those skinny latex gloves when making it because I can't stand the feel of the meat squishing. Lol

JL, I like chicken fried chicken better than the steak. Sometimes I go to KFC on Wednesday as they have the whole chicken fried steak dinner for $2.99. He said its good too. I know the pot pie on Thursday there is very good...same price. Do you have one around you? I wonder if they have the same deal out there?

sacBarb said...

Hello HOoters,

Well, I have got a full blown case of the creeping crud! I thought it might have been allergies, but now I think it is a cold. I don't have a fever, but I have post-nasal drip that is producing so much crud that I have already used up a whole box of Kleenex! I canceled my nail appointment for today because if I am contagious, I don't to share it with anyone! Sheenah was grateful. I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow and I may have to cancel that, too. I'll see how I feel in the morning. I am going back to bed to take a lil nap.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I'm sorry you have a cold. I hope you get over it soon. I wonder where you picked that up? Jennifer wasn't sniffling was she?

Just_Lin said...

Dianne We used to have a KFC here on the coast highway but it's been gone a long time now. I've never had their pot pies. Generally, I'm not a fan of pot pies but I have found one brand I really like in the frozen section of the store. The brand is Blake's and they have really good big hunks of breast meat in it. I'm picky about chicken and really only like prime white meat.

Mary/MI said...

I am taking a chance and hoping my comment posts!!

Dianne, I get cabin fever too! I hate being stuck inside in the winter! It was cold and windy today, but decided the dogs were as bored as I was so out we went! I didn't dare take them too far. Their paws get cold fast and I can only carry the Doxie if I see them walk funny!

Barb, I am sorry you have the cruds. Did they ever really go away? I fully expected to come home from PS with something with all the plane rides lol! Knock on wood, I am still well!

Jodi, I have never been able to get into Bingo! I guess I just don't have the skills it takes to watch so many cards lol!!

JL, I like a good pot pie too. I have not tried KC. We usually eat the Mary Calendra, not sure that's the correct sp. They have big chunks of white meat.

I am really getting tired of these cold temps! Thank goodness I got to lay out in the sun for a while in PS! I can look at my tan and smile for a few seconds lol!!

Well, here goes, I hope this posts!!!

Just_Lin said...

Mary You made it into the nest! I'm glad you got a chance to get a bit of sun while in Palm Springs. A little sunshine can do a lot for one's overall mood and health. It seems like your winters last a long time. I have blossoms on my plum tree so I guess we think spring is springing.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - I think Lady Gaga and Tim McGraw did a fabulous job! Have you ventured out yet?

Jodi said...

SLIN - Waving a wing back!

Jodi said...

BARB - I hope you start feeling better. I was in bed literally all day yesterday. Headache above my right eye and I just couldn't get warm. I didn't even go to my shift leader meeting yesterday afternoon. I feel much better this morning.

Jodi said...

MARY - They don't play your regular straight line bingo. There were 7 games and the booklet had the design for each Bingo mapped out. I used an ink pen and mapped out the winning design and then used my dauber when playing, only marking the ones I needed for a Bingo! Guess it's a good thing I'm good with numbers! It was $20 to get in, and $250 to win each game!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi I'm glad you're feeling better today. I think your body was telling you to SLOW DOWN!

Dianne/Denver said...

Snowing again today. I went down the street to lunch with my friend Barb. Ventured over to Walmart to pick up a few things for my trip. It's going to snow all weekend. The roads aren't great either. I came home to take a nap which ended up being a four hour one. Must have been sleepy!!

Where is everyone today? Barb and Jodi, are you feeling better? I hope so.

Barb, it seems like you get sick after trips. Do you take Airborne or anything? My husband swears by it when on a trip.

Get our taxes done tomorrow. I'll be glad to get it over with as its so much prep work.

Not much else. Hope you're all better and staying warm.

Jodi said...

Good morning HOoters!!

Jodi said...

SLIN - I got the hint ;)

Jodi said...

DIANNE - I'm feeling much better, thank you! I need to make an appt to get our taxes done. Hoping I can get in next week. I hope you are able to fly out next week. Another frigid night. I can't wait for warmth. Seriously. I booked our flight for August and our room on Kauai. I think Paul is getting excited about our trip! I know I am. We are staying 3 nights with TURTLE and then staying 3 nights on Kauai for Angie and Jonathan's wedding!

Jodi said...

Best get prettied up for work. I'm so happy I have this weekend off! My Aunt Jane and I are going to visit my Cousin Stan tomorrow to see his baby boy. He's a month old now. This morning Paul is taking Jake to get his temps. Hard to believe my baby will be 16 in 6 months.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I don't generally take naps unless I'm really sick. Normally, they don't make me feel refreshed but rather they make me feel like I've been drugged. You have having hibernating weather, though, so maybe that would make a difference. Speaking of weather, we just had a short sprinkle of rain that was unexpected.

Yesterday, I took the dog on a walk along the levy by the beach and froze my ass off. It was cold wind coming up off the ocean. I was in a hoodie and had the hood up because that cold wind hitting the side of my head was chilling me to the bone.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi How fun to have a Hawaiian trip to look forward to. Is this the first time that Paul will have been there? I don't have any more trips planned for this year beyond the usually visit to my brother in my hometown in late September. My 50 year high school reunion is coming up the first week of November but I'm not planning on going. I will just have been down there a few weeks prior and have no real desire to attend. Two of my closest friends have passed on at this point and the rest I kind of have a "take it or leave it" attitude about. I might be more inclined to attend if I wasn't so overweight. I don't know.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I hope you're feeling better with both the cold and the leg/back pain.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Waving! I hope you can see me through the snow!

Jodi said...

SLIN - Yes, this is Paul's first time in Hawaii, and his first really nice vacation since we had our honeymoon 25 years ago. He is a union general laborer, and if he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid. Period! Financially we will be taking a hit, but sometimes you gotta say what the fuck! Do it while we are both in good health and can enjoy it!!

Jodi said...

So my hubby had shaved his beard off a little too early this winter. He had been growing it back in, but 2 days ago he shaved the sides off, and now has a hot goutee! O M G! We are totally having a date night tonight. One last dinner with my friend Angie before she heads back to Kauai this weekend, and then dancing!

Jodi said...

Goatee!! Didn't know it was spelled the way it sounds. I will try to share a pic tonight! Hot I tell ya!

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I didn't take Airborne. I think before my next trip I will definitely take some. A friend told me I should take Emergen-C. (don't know if I spelled that right) I don't have any of that either, however my sister is going shopping tomorrow and I asked her to get some for me.

sacBarb said...

J/L, My leg is a little better this afternoon and I hope it continues to get better. As of this morning I was thinking the new med was not helping, but maybe it just takes a while. I've only taken five doses as of last night. The cold is another story. I have almost used up a second box of Kleenex. Good think I buy it in the multi-box package from Costco!

sacBarb said...

Jodi, Yay, for date night!

sacBarb said...

Hey Mary, Where you? I hope you are keeping warm!

Mary/MI said...

Happy Saturday owletts!

I didn't sleep well last night with Jim's snoring and sleep talking! Something about cobwebs on the windows and calling Zoie from who knows where! I usually can't tell what he is jabbering about lol! He usually quiets down about 4:00 am.
I tried sleeping in without much luck.
I was gone shopping all afternoon. I had to get Gr Daughter's Birthday gift and a shower gift for this week end, also got gross-eries. It was never over 18*
We are supposed to get 3 or 4" of snow Sunday BLECK!

Jodi, I can't ait to hear about your Hawwaian trip! I hope to make it back there at least one more time. My girlfriend is there now :(

Just_Lin I can see you over the snow drifts lol! I am trying to picture you in a hoodie lol!

SacBarb, I feel so bad that you are still sick :( You really need to baby yourself! Sending you my warmest, sweetest, loving hugs!!!

BarbinCo. I know your pain, snow wise :( WTG on the snowblower !!
