Dianne LOL Thanks for the blog today.

I can't believe you never heard the song, "Purple Rain" until now. My daughter is of the age that she was really into Prince during his "Purple Rain" days. In fact, I recall taking her to the theater to see the movie.

Barb I did contact Judy and she is more than happy to talk to my brother. She said she talked to people who had been through it before she had her knee surgeries and she found it very helpful. Hopefully, my brother will call her sometime this week.

If you do gamble when you go into Las Vegas, maybe you can give the Ellen Degeneres slots a try. I thought they were a lot of fun.

HOdi Don't you have stairs at your house? That must be really difficult for Sam to negotiate now.

A few days ago, my dog was feeling pretty good about her foot and overdid it. Now I have the steps going down from the deck, blocked with chairs so she can't go flying down there after a squirrel again. Not being able to use one's feet is really inconvenient.

Mary That's nice that you were able to provide karaoke and DJ services for that party. I'm sure it made them very happy. I love the oldies, too. No surprise there, I suppose.

Hi...good thing I keep getting jokes to send to Tina. I think I might be running low.

JL, I hope your doggy gets better. Shame on him chasing squirrels lol. Nope, never heard the songs Prince sang. I guess they don't sing those in Nashville although, that country singer did a good job the other night. Tell your brother about the place I was that they send you home the same day with one replacement. I wonder if they'd send him to a rehab with both knees? I really felt it helped me and that was with one! I haven't seen an Ellen slot machine here.

Mary, I too wish I could go to one of your gigs. It would be fun watching you perform. Btw, is it snowing or are you done with it? It's snowing in our mtns tonight. We're going to get hopefully only rain this week.

Barb, when do you go see Newsies? I can't remember.

Jodi, I just made a Thursday appt to get these nails done. I've had a lot of compliments on them but I just can't get used to them. I did have a pedi yesterday. I like to do them on separate days as it takes too long.

We l leave on vacation a month from tomorrow. It sure came up fast. I'm going to lunch with Beverly one day then.

Dianne, We saw Newsies last week and really liked it. I didn't know anything about the story and I found it interesting. I'm not a big history buff so I didn't even know that Pulitzer was in the newspaper business. I knew about Hearst because I have been to Hearst Castle a few times and I have seen documentaries about his parties there with numerous Hollywood stars.

J/L, Sharon and I went to Las Vegas a few years ago and I played one of the Ellen slots and lost $60 before I finally quit. It was fun, because there was a lot of different ways to win, however, I didn't! I played for two hours before I decided to quit. I kept thinking with the next bet I would hit something. I did get little winners here and there and that sucked me in, but I was hoping for the BIG one! LOL

sacBarb said...

Dianne2, I don't get jokes in my email like I used to. I sent one to Tina about a year ago, but she never used it. Maybe she never get it.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I'm always hoping for the big one. LOL But as for gambling, when I played the Ellen game, I got ahead by more than $100 but put it all back in. That's exactly how they keep those casinos open.

Dianne My brother is doing a lot of research about the knee replacement surgery. The other day he watched it being done on a video on the internet. He's still trying to get himself mentally prepared to do this.

sacBarb said...

J/L, OMG I wouldn't want to watch any surgery. I prefer to not have a visual of what they did to me. Also, the older I get, the more squeamish I get about seeing lots of blood. I watch Grey's Anatomy and have to close my eyes when they show close ups of surgery! Your brother is so lucky to have you to help him. I went to the "home" because I didn't have anyone to help me at my house. I think it helped me a lot because I had PT every day and after I got home, a physical therapist came to the house only twice a week for three weeks, then I had to go to the clinic. I couldn't drive yet so I had to have someone take me.

SacBarb, I quit watching a lot of my old fave. shows and some new one because they were getting more and more graphic. Wat too much violence too!

I was gone all day. I rode to the VFW Hospital with 4 siblings that used to be my neighbors when growing up in my home town. They drive once a week to see their brother who was in my grade in school. He (Terry) is a Vietnam Vet and disabled. He was in a nursing home close to our home town (Masons). He begged his family to put him in the VA Hospital where he would be around his peers and not just the elderly. They fought him the best they could. They didn't want to make the much longer trip to the VA Hosp. They finally gave in. I think he looks much better and more relaxed. He arranged for a debit card for his siblings to not only pay for their gas money to visit him, but also lunch for whoever comes along! I tried to pay for my share of lunch but they insisted that Terry wanted to treat us.

My Grandson called me today to tell me the sonogram showed they were having a girl! I am thrilled! I was sure I would not live to see any Great Grandchildren from him lol! He had his life all planned out and expected to be a millionaire by a certain age. He failed to factor in a pregnant girlfriend lol!! They are happy non the less.

Tomorrow is Zoies salon day. Twice a year I treat her to the "works" incl a oatmeal luxury bath lol! It usually takes 3 hrs, so I will be doing some shopping :)

sacBarb said...

Mary, Congrats on your pending Great Grandmother status! The pic of them on FB is so cute. Have fun shopping tomorrow while Zoie is getting the spa treatment!

Just_Lin said...

Mary Congrats on the happy baby news! I never did have aspirations to be a millionaire. I guess I should have had loftier goals.

I'm glad your neighbor is in the VA hospital like he wanted and that he is happy there. That was nice that you visited with him and that you were treated to lunch.

My dog doesn't get a salon day but she sure enjoys her runs in the hills with "play date" group on Mondays and Fridays. She's missed being able to go for the last 3 times because of her injured foot but she seems to be completely healed now so I know she will be happy when she gets to go again this Friday. She's always so excited to go.

I stopped watching Criminal Minds a long time ago because it just got to dark and twisted for me. There are enough disturbing things in the news, I don't need to watch it repeated for entertainment.

Barb I guess I wouldn't mind watching an operation being performed that I was expecting to have done on myself. Working for veterinarians for 28 years, I've seen plenty of operations, blood, pus, maggots, you name it. Not much bothers me, in that regard.

We've had a cold wind blowing today. I'm having a hard time warming up.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I took myself out to lunch today and then had my nails done. Next week I'll be getting my hair done. I'm going to choose a different color as I'm not excited about the color it is right now.

Did you say you saw "The Boss"? A couple of friends and I went and saw it last night and I was not impressed. I had been looking forward to having some laughs but they were too few and too far between. I was disappointed.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Well, I got the bills for my taxes. Besides my personal tax forms I have to have tax forms prepared for a trust. Each bill was for $480 which is par for the course. Ridiculous, but like you said, I'd rather make sure every thing is being done properly. There was a time when I filled out my own itemized forms but those days are long gone.

Hi.....JL, I did see that movie and Barb and I liked it. I really like Melissa McCarthy barb said she thought it was funny but didn't laugh when everyone else was laughing!! What color are you making your hair? I like my color and love my new girl. I had my nails done today and got that bad color off and a pretty pink full nail, color now. I had a 9am appt....early. I was meeting my out of town friend for lunch today.

I got very mad at Louis yesterday and even went to bed not speaking to him. When I got home today there were Flowers waiting. I Ike him again. :)

We r having major issues again/still with Kayla. It's seems like it's gotten worse. She did go to counseling today.

3-6" of snow tomorrow!! I'm really over it for the season. It rained today.

Mary, congratulations on becoming a great grandma. It will be fun to have a baby in your family. What did you buy shopping today? I thought u were going to show us your new wig?

Barb, I think rehab helped me with my knee too. I needed the every day push once I adjusted to being there I was fine.

Jodi, looks like you are working a lot of days in a row again. How's Sam dong?

Dianne, did you say that awful 4 letter word s--w ?
Teenagers! My poor parents went through 7 teenagers! I can't even imagine!! I have to admit, my sons never gave me reason to panic, well, not until Matthew went in the service and war was declared while he was in Iraq! To this day I still cannot talk about that day without crying!

Poo Lois, you must have really shook him up! LOL!

JL, Jim used to make out our taxes until they became too complicated and forms were hard to come by! He never let taxes get to him before. I think that one big boo boo he made a few years back that cost him 4,000 gave him the cure! They never did pay us back!

SacBarb, I will have to check out Ellen's slot machine. You never know,it may just be waiting for me lol!!

Still rain snowing.....all dang day and I guess all weekend. 32 degrees. It's not sticking but awfully wet out. I drove about an hour away today and there was some standing water you had to watch out for plus it was kind of hard to see with all the rain. In now with the heat going.

Barb and I are going to see Mothers Day at the movie tomorrow. It's with Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston. Looks funny. We are going at noon as Barb has some afternoon plans. Sunday we go to my brothers for my niece's boyfriend bday dinner. Anyone doing anything citing this weekend? I don't really know what would be "exciting"".

Mary, I feel sorry for your parents having all those teenagers but I'll bet you all obeyed them too. They were the boss not the kids!!

That's about it from my end of town. Kayla went to college days at one of the colleges she's looking at for nursing. Hope a$$ "let's" her go.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne It's hard to imagine that you are dealing with snowy rain (or is it rainy snow?) while I sit here looking out at a clear blue sky. Not very warm; low 60's.

I have absolutely nothing "exciting" planned for the weekend. I rarely do. LOL Maybe I will force myself to walk the dog now that her foot is healed. I keep thinking I need to walk and then I think about how much it makes my hip hurt after a while and then I find an excuse not to do it. I need to be more active and try to lose weight as I know that would be beneficial to my back and, therefore, also to my hip. It's kind of a catch 22.

I'm glad Kayla has a goal and hopefully DS (dumb sh*t) won't keep her from pursuing that.

Just_Lin said...

Mary It must have been horrible to have your boy be in Iraq during that time. I'm glad he's out now.

I bet if you play the Ellen slots you will win back the money Barb and I put in them. LOL If nothing else, they are entertaining. Do you ever win money in the ship casinos?

Just_Lin said...

Barb What are you up to this fine Saturday? I'm in desperate need of a new purse but I don't want to shop for it on the weekend when everybody else is out shopping, too. I actually have a very nice Coach leather purse that my daughter got me several years ago but I stopped using it as it is heavy and constantly slipped off my shoulder and cause bruising on my forearm due to my paper-thin skin. I need something light because the stuff I carry in it is pretty heavy itself.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi Where are you?

sacBarb said...

J/L, I got a new purse for the same reason. Mu purse wasn't a Coach, but it was heavy. Now I have a much lighter and smaller one. I found that the bigger my purse, the more crap I carried around. Now withe the smaller one. I can't put as much stuff in it and I get along just fine.

I am cleaning out the closet in the pool room and I am going to put shelves in it for my craft stuff. Well, I'm not going to put the shelves up. Sheenah's (my nail lady) sister is an interior decorator and she is helping me get all this done. Yesterday we got all the stuff out and separated it into trash, donate, and keep. We filled up the trash container and still have more to throw away. I have about four bags of stuff to donate. I am only keeping the craft stuff that was in that closet, a box of my mother's stuff, and the file cabinets that are in there. I have one four drawer and two, two drawer cabinets. After I get the closet all back together, I will go through the files and shred the old stuff. Maybe I'll be able to get rid on one of the cabinets. It's going to cost me a lot, but it's the only way it is going to get done. She charges $75 per hour and we worked three hours yesterday. I already feel better with just the stuff I threw away. Monday we are going to Home Depot to get shelves for the closet.

Dianne, I also hope DS doesn't keep Kayla from pursuing her college goal. Has she decided on a college yet?

Mary, Have a good time in LV and I hope you win big!
