Mary here, checking in! No more trips for Jim to the Casino! I may have to bury him in the back yard lol! He is so bored! His Lab, Queenie is enjoying the longer and more often walks. I know Zoie likes having everyone home.
I went to the store yesterday and didn't find any toilet paper. We have a wee,ks supply, but wanted some for spare. My good friend Barb called from the store and asked if we wanted anything. She said there was one pkg of paper left. I told her to grab it lol!
My Dr appointment is this Thursday. So far they have not cancelled on me. I got a reminder card in the mail today for my upcoming dental appt. I hear they are asking DDS to close. I have to take antibiotics as it is, so I will be cancelling.
Stay safe all!!

Mary..looks like you and Jim will be bonding..,us too. I’ll bet he’s bummed about the casino. This is already boring to me. Louis is going for a measurement for his implant today and they called with a million questions on when we came home from our trip. He’s only getting measured I think most drs are still taking patients but monitoring them.

Barb, I haven’t decided to cancel those beauty appts yet. I think the governor will cancel before I will here in colorado. I feel bad for the weddings right now. I might watch that show too.

JL, my cleaning lady is coming tnrw and we really need it. Just want things really cleaned since all we’ve been through lately. I don’t even have my goodies I got on trip put away. I just put them in a big bag to go through “In my spare time”.

My dr has me leaving my arm uncovered during the day. Today was the first and then Louis will wrap it at night. I have home care coming tmrw ashes supposed to monitor it. I’m wondering how long or if he’ll come back when he finds out he isn’t changing bandage. I don’t go back to dr for a month so someone has to watch it that is medical. We shall see tmrw.

Btw, happy St Patrick’s Day.

Dianne Happy St. Patrick's Day.

I made a corned beef and cabbage dinner and shared it with my friend Jane and her long time friend, Diane, who flew down from Idaho to give emotional support to Jane and to visit. I know Diane through Jane and we've spent time together before so it is like all three of us are friends now. Jane and Diane used to work together so Diane has known Jane and John longer than I have. Jane was having a Celebration of Life for John at a local venue on the 21st but now that is cancelled due to the Coronavirus. Their friends and family members from back east had to cancel their flights. Some had already cancelled due to the virus threat. Instead, we will be having a smaller gathering at Jane and John's son's house which is here in town. I think we will still be going against the rules as we are now in a "shelter in place" situation. We aren't supposed to gather with more than 10 people and we're supposed to stay 6 feet away from everyone except family or housemates. Oh, well. This smaller remembrance for John will probably be around a dozen of us or so. Just close family and close friends.

After dinner tonight, we watched "Game Night" with Jason Bateman and it made us all laugh out loud so that was wonderful and well needed thing.

I know you get cabin fever. Maybe you should go online and order some jigsaw puzzles for you and Louis to work on.

I hope your arm is getting better every day.

Mary They've closed down Jim's casino? Uh, oh. He is going to go stir crazy and drive you nuts! Don't let him discover online gambling. Oh, I just heard on the news tonight that Vegas casinos are closing down for a month. Yikes! You know things are serious when they do that.

Fortunately, I have plenty of TP for now, probably at least a week's worth. I have become much more aware of how much TP I use. It was nice of your friends to grab that last package for you. I just saw on the news that there's been a run on bidets. LOL

Oh, I sure hope you are able to get that shoulder looked at. I hope your dental appointment is just for something routine that can be postponed for a while. I have a hair appointment in early April. It will be interesting to see if it's allowable by then. My hair is driving me nuts as it already feels too long and I just had it cut 1 1/2 weeks ago.

Barb I LOL at Chad's comment that you don't need to look good anyway when you can't go out. Some days I do "stay home and stay ugly" and I guess there's going to be more of that in the coming weeks with this shelter in place thing. I've already broken the rules by hugging Jane and Diane tonight. Seriously, I guess Diane could be considered risky since she just arrived on a airplane. However, she wore gloves on the plane, wiped everything down around her seat, and even wiped down her luggage. She's probably the safest one of the three of us. LOL

I really worry about the small businesses being able to withstand this shut down. There's a little local coffee shop I frequent and I don't know if they will be able to weather this storm. They're basically just a breakfast and lunch place and don't have that big of a menu, really. And who wants to get breakfast to go?

I am back from Dr. Seems I have a partial torn rotor cup. Ins won't pay for more testing until I have at least 6-8 wks of PT. I will be trying new meds too. I am waiting for the Pharmacy to call. No heavy lifting. Zoie will have to go on a diet lol!
I hope you are all well and not too ugly lol!

Well, dang mary, no wonder you are in so much pain! Grr on ins requiring pt. Oh well, I think all surgeries on hold now anywAy. What about Pt? I hope the new meds give you some relief.

We are having 4-12” of snow today until midnight tonight! It’s blowing too. Not fun..Louis won’t even go get our mail. He’s been watching a squirrel in a tree out the back window and I slept. Thrilling day.

Hope everyone is doing well. Hair and nails closed down. Oh my!

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well. We haven’t left the house all week as we now have been ordered to shelter in place and only go out for doctor appointments or anything absolutely necessary. We’re pretty well stocked up on food and paper goods. We got stuff at Costco about two weeks ago on our regular trip. That was just luck because it was right before everyone started buying up hoards of everything. My dentist canceled my appointment for April 6 because it was just a routine 4 month check and cleaning. My kidney doc changed my March 24 appointment to a telephone appointment, but she wanted me to get labs done this weekend and I asked if I could reschedule the appointment for when this virus thing calms down and so my new appointment is in May. I think our last two shows of the season are going to be canceled. This is really serious!

Dianne, I hope the home care nurse will still be checking on you. How is Louis feeling. Is Tammy getting around better yet? Your family has been through a lot.

Mary, OMG, no wonder you were having so much pain. Will you be able to get PT during this time of social distancing? I would think it falls under necessary care!

My Goddaughter is having surgery for liver cancer on March 24 at Stanford. Chad and I had planned to go see her, since its only a couple of hours from Sac, but the hospital won’t allow any visitors. Even her in-laws who are bringing her to Stanford from Santa Maria (a 3-4 hour drive) can’t go in the hospital. The doctor said they will be called when the surgery is over and will be given an update. They are trying to get a hotel or motel room if any are open.

J/L, I worry about the small businesses, too. Since my husband and I had a small glass business, I know how important it is to keep the doors open. And if they have mandatory paid time off, with no money coming in, I don’t know how they will survive. Yet, a lot of people live from paycheck to paycheck and can’t go without being paid. It’s going to be tough for everyone.
It’s good that Jane has someone to be with her during this difficult time. How long will Diane stay?

Mary Oh, Mary, I'm sorry about your shoulder. My husband had that injury once and ended up with surgery to fix it. I hope you're able to resolve yours with PT. Hopefully, they can give you exercises to do at home instead of going in in person. This is not the best timing, that's for sure.

I was pretty ugly yesterday. I ran a brush through my hair but didn't really "fix" it and I did not put on my makeup. I also wore clothes that were ok for waving to the neighbor across the street but I wouldn't wear them to the store.

Your busted water heater is really the icing on the cake! Your poor basement seems to have had it's share of being flooded, one way or the other.

Dianne I laughed a bit at Louis watching a squirrel. I put peanuts and bird seed out on the deck every day so I watch squirrels and birds quite a bit under normal circumstances.

It's going to get ugly with the hair and nail places shut down. I had my hair cut and dyed like 2 weeks ago and I'm already feeling like it's too long. I hate to think what my roots will look like by the time this is over. I have acrylic nails so they will start cracking and will become a mess very soon. Ugh!

Barb Diane will be staying with Jane until April 1. Who knows? Maybe they'll even shut down airports and she'll stay long than she expected.

I decided against going to the intimate memorial for John last night. It was hosted at their son's house and his wife is a nurse. She was working with another nurse on the 12th that has tested positive for the virus. She feels fine but the incubation period is up to 14 days so she can't be positive that she is clear of the virus. If she gets it, I'm sure her immune system will handle it fine but it would most likely be very bad for me. I have COPD and a heart that doesn't beat as strongly as it should, besides being in the most at risk age group. So I felt really bad about not going to the gathering but even her parents stayed away as her mom gets bronchitis and her step-dad has diabetes.

I'm really glad you have Chad there to help you with supplies during this time so you can stay home. Plus, you have someone to talk to and that's nice. Yesterday, I watched 8 hour-long Icelandic murder drama. LOL Once I got used to the dubbed voices, it was quite engaging.

I got up at 5:30 this morning so I could take advantage of the "senior" store hours at the grocery store which are 6 - 9 a.m. Normally, I'm lucky to be awake by 9. Anyway, I got to the store at 6:30 and it was pretty okay as far as keeping 6 feet away from each other but some seniors (mainly men) didn't seem to have gotten the memo about that. I'm glad I still have an adequate amount of TP and paper towels because the shelves were still bare. I also thought I was going to get some flour but it was all gone, as was the sugar. I guess people are baking while they are at home. I'm used to being able to go grocery shopping every few days but now I'm stocking up more so I can limit my exposure at the store. I also took a disinfectant wipe with me that I used to wipe down the handles and top basket of the shopping cart. By the time I was ready to check out, the lines were really long. I think I probably have a nap in my future. I made tuna casserole last night so I know I'm having some leftovers for dinner tonight.

J/L, It’s nice that the stores are giving seniors special hours, but Costco and some other stores have posted signs stating only seniors can shop those hours and no one can be admitted with them who is not a senior. So, since Chad can’t go in with me, he is just going to do it all himself during the regular hours. I don’t think they thought it out well, because if I am alone, I can’t reach a high shelf or lift heavy items. Costco sells milk in two, one gallon shrink wrapped sets. I can’t even lift that. So many items Costco sells come in large and heavy packages. So I give him a list, but I really like going in case I see something I would like that I didn’t put on the list.
I have been getting my hair done every week because I can no longer reach around to dry or style the top and back of my head. So, for two weeks now I have dried the front sides using my round brush and just kind of drying the back without using the brush. You haven’t seen ugly til you’ve seen me with my hair like that. At least it’s clean and I get to shower without a shower cap.

Mary, I see you were making tortillas. I put a comment on your post about my one and only time making tortillas. Maybe I will try again using your recipe.
Did you get the water heater fixed and all the water out? I imaging it was quite a chore.
I hope you can get some relief from the pain in your shoulder with pt and some pain med.
