One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the
dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several
strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her
mother and inquisitively asked, 'Why are some of your hairs white, Mum?’
Her mother replied,
'Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one
of my hairs turns white.’
The little girl thought
about this revelation for a while and then said, 'Mummy, how come ALL of
grandma's hairs are white?’

I hope you all have a great day! I am off on vacation this week. Bri has her first “big girl” all day camp and I am staying here all day to support. Hoping that tomorrow with her cousin here she won’t need me and I will be released from duty. It is nice being able to do it of course.
I feel accomplished because I actually worked on cleaning my house yesterday! I have been doing so much running or working that I am living in a mess!! Hoping this week to get things cleaned up! Spring cleaning running into Summer lol!

Bebbi I have been neglecting of few things here too. I seem to be going to more funerals lately! We went to one Wed. and will be going to a memorial on July7. Jim's 77th Birthday.
I have been trying to get rid of a lot of things that I have set aside/put away, and never use.
I saw on FB in my area, that the Boy Scouts were trying to raise money by having a garage sale and wanted donations for it. I thinned out many of my books and nick knacks. They were happy to get them.
I will be working on the basement next. We also have an attic that needs to be cleared. I'm not looking forward to that. Matthew will help so that is good.
I have an early Chiro apptm. and a 2:00 hair apptm. I need to pick up a few "gross-eries" and I do mean "gross", price wise! Everything has jumped up in price and shrunk in size!

Hi…anyone have plans for weekend besides cleaning? We r meeting my two uncles and wives for early dinner on the 4th. Barb and I went for bbq today. Not fun like the old days. My youngest grandson turned 17 yesterday. I can’t believe how his voice has changed. Not a baby anymore. Well, I went to three dr appts Tuesday. The allergy Dr that said I don’t have allergies except to cats…already knew that but my dermo wanted me to go. Second appt was with my back dr. I have stenosis on the pine which irritates my saciatica (sp) nothing more can be done for me..no meds..nothing. He wants me to meet with surgeon but when we told him our vacations he said to wait until after cruise..hope I can stand it. Third appt was chest X-ray. I had to lay on that little table on my stomach. I really didn’t think I could do it. It was very very painful and then I had to turn over. I started crying as it hurt so bad AND I was afraid of falling off the table. The finally pulled me enough. I thought a chest X-ray was standing up. Pulmonary requested it. It shows light asthma..we already knew that too. I was exhausted! I called back dr next day to get exact diagnosis and ask if pt would help. He said it might give me some relief. Now I’m scheduled in two weeks to start. I’ll try anything. So..that’s my sad current story. Louis will probably need more back shots before cruise. He was going to ask for surgery but they said recovery was about three to four hours. So..no, no surgery before vacations. Enough about all this
Beverly, sounds like fun for your granddaughter. We have some people coming over on the 11th. I not thrilled. They have a huge beautiful home…5400 sq ft. We have a very small patio condo. Mine does not compare. We did have carpets cleaned this week though. There house looks like a show home..mine does not. Ours looks lived in. You’ll feel good as you finish cleaning things
Mary, it sounds like you have a large project ahead of you. R u doing anything special for Jim’s bday? Casino? U don’t go there though , do you? I just finished my hair appt a week ago. Still trying to grow it some…takes forever plus my hair is thin on top.
Hello to JL, barb and seaside. Happy 4th of July everyone. .
Hello, everyone. Anybody doing anything fun for the holiday? We are having our 2nd annual street party. The street I live on comes up from Rosita Road, curves in a more-or-less semi-circle and ends up on Rosita again. Like last year, the city gave us permission to block both ends of the street where it meets Rosita from 3 to 8. Everyone brings their BBQ grills to the front of their homes and the street it filled with games and socializing, and music. It was such fun last year and I expect it will be again this year. Like before, I'll be joining the neighbors across the street and sharing in their grilled goodies. I'm making baked beans to contribute and also cookies. I'm making more cookies for the Cake Walk that is planned. Now that I don't have a dog terrified of fire works, I can actually enjoy July 4. I feel bad for all the pets and other critters that will be scared, though.
Bebbie Did day camp wear you out? I think it would wear me out but I'm older than you. It is a blessing that you can do it, though.
It's been downright cold here for the last several days: gray, overcast, with a breeze. Kind of like when I met you at the beach that time. We really do have warm days, too. A week ago, I was shoving blankets off of me in bed because it was too warm. I hope the weather warms up for the 4th. We'll still have fun if it doesn't but we'll all be bundled up in jackets. It's not how one pictures 4th of July celebrations.
That was a cute picture of you with the comedian. In these times, comedians are priceless.
Mary I've been quiet because i live a quiet life. For a while, I was really good about finding stuff to get rid of on a weekly basis. Stuff that could either be donated or thrown away. I need to make a point to do that again. Tomorrow night I'll be putting out the garbage can for collection early on Monday. I should find something that needs to be discarded and put it in there. Thanks, Mary, for the reminder.
Dianne I'm so sorry that you aren't getting relief for your back problems. When I was visiting my daughter last month, I did more walking than I'm used to and it really hit home how much harder it's gotten for me. I swear the sciatica kicks in sooner than it used to. I am at my highest weight and I know that has a ton to do with it. I really need to get off my ass and do something about it. I keep saying that to myself and then one day blends into the next and I still haven't done it. I shouldn't wait until I have some kind of crisis to get my ass in gear.
There must be a reason why they had you lie down for the chest x-ray but I don't know what the reason might be. I would find that very uncomfortable, too.
Who are the people coming over on the 11th? Btw, I'd feel much more comfortable in your small, lived in condo that a big place that looks and feels like a showroom. Showrooms are not warm or welcoming.
