Cute Dianne!
I sure hope you have recovered from your fall! I am sure that was scary for you!
I spent about an hour outside in the sun, not sun bathing lol! I was raking up a lot of mowed, dried grass clippings. It only has to be done after the first two cuttings because the grass grows so fast and hard to keep up with it. All those dried grass clippings look awful, like a hay field!
I came in, showered made diner, folded laundry and put it away. Earlier I drove to East Lansing to get rid of all the recyclables. I always have to take my little step ladder, because some of the bin openings are waaaay up!
So much construction! I saw a bad accident on the opposite side of the highway where the traffic was backed up for miles due to construction . The accident made it worse! I had to do some finagling to find an alternative route home.

I’m back. I just read the Mother’s Day blog. It’s cute. I wonder if the moms got to see the comments? Well, today we went to Louis’s surgeon. He’s not released but close to it. He has to go back after 4 mos.,7 mo and a year. He starts pt tmrw they were very pleased with his progression. He can get rid of the back brace. He’s going to try and start driving tmrw..yea! I went in with him to be sure I knew all the rules we then went to pt to set up appts. Then the cleaners, chick fia for tonight’s dinner and the car wash. Busy afternoon and I had a nail appt at 9am I’m about ready to take a nap to be ready for r basketball game. Trying to win tonight and beat the Lakers. I’ve never been interested in the games but now that we r in the playoffs it’s interesting.

We’re going for fan week mid sept to Branson. I reserved the same ARBNB that we had last time ground level but no handicap. I then saw a comment on the blog of someone looking for a handicap . One was advertised for $4 more. Talked to family that owns it and it sounds perfect for $4 more I’m saw a virtual tour and it looks nice. I’m really excited to have a handicap one this time hopefully, Judy and gordon will go again as it’s a two bedroom . Tall toilets, grab bars and roll in shower. Perfect. I think I to.d you louis is flying to Va in July to see his family. Hopefully that will work for him. It will be my little vacation at home. No tv just music!

Again, that’s about it just told u I’d be back and hear I am. Nap time now.

Hello, Ladies! I'm in a strange mood. There's a show on Netflix called "Swedish Death Cleaning". I haven't watched it but I know that the gist of it is to get rid of stuff, even if it is just one tiny thing out of your junk drawer, every day so that your family won't have to deal with it all when you are gone. Well, I've been doing that for a few days now. Yesterday I went through a bunch of letters my husband had mailed to me long before we were married. His police department had sent him to the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, for 3 months of advanced studies in such things as homicide, behavioral sciences, robbery, gambling, etc. Anyway, I knew there were some x-rated stuff in some of the letters that I really didn't think my kids would want to read. The letters had been written in 1979 when I was 32 and he was 49. Until I read the letters, I had really forgotten how torrid our relationship was in the early years. We always stayed intimate through the 30 years we were together but in the earlier years it was like in Technicolor. Anyway, reading the letters, I saw signs of self-awareness and reflection that I'm not sure I always gave him credit for later in life. In letters, he said the kinds of loving and adoring things to me that might seem embarrassing to say out loud. I ripped up most of the letters because I didn't want my kids to read those particular ones but I did keep a few that I'm not ready to let go of just yet. Reading them made me miss him a lot.

I had a pimple-sized bump/growth removed from my scalp today. The dermatologist doesn't think it's anything to worry about but has sent it out for biopsy, just in case. I guess I'll get the results in a couple of weeks.

Dianne I'm so glad Louis got such a good report about his back. I bet he's very happy about that. I hope your scrapes from your fall are healing well. I'm sorry that happened to you. Any idea how that happened? Did you not see the curb?

That's great that you have a trip to look forward to. I wish I did.

I am not a basketball fan particularly, but I did watch the Warriors in the playoffs until they lost to the Lakers. If our home team isn't in it, I have no interest.

Mary It seems like you have had some scary car travels lately. I hope you are extra careful and alert when driving.

You get so much done each day, it makes my head spin. I organized some paperwork the other day and called it a day. LOL I did go to my watercolor workshop last week and that was fun for me. I'll go to the June one, too. These workshops are local and very easy for me to go to. In fact, they're only a couple of doors down from my hairdresser and less than one block from the beach.

Barb I avoided watching any more videos of Iam Tongi singing "Monsters" today as I didn't want to ruin my eye makeup like I did yesterday. Yikes! It seems like I needed a tissue every time he sang anything. I'm really glad he won.

I hope you are doing well and that your sister isn't stressing you out too much.

Dianne, I’m glad Louis is doing so well in his recovery. I worry about you falling so much, though. Are you trying to go too fast? I’ve been a little shaky myself lately. I think it’s just because I have been so stressed. My sister’s toilet is still clogged and I am having trouble getting a plumber out that will work on it. I got someone to clean it last week and we got buckets for Marie to use, but she doesn’t like to use it and she uses the toilet, but she can’t flush because of the clog. I finally got a plumber out and he tried to snake it, but got stuck. He told us the pipes were filled with roots and it’s going to take more than a snake. Another plumber came out today and removed the toilet. He’s going to try to go through the hole to get the roots. If that doesn’t work, they will have jackhammer the floor. The good news is, the roots are coming from trees on the condo’s property, so it’s their responsibility! Marie doesn’t have a tree in her yard, thank goodness!!

JL, Iam Tongi was on with Kelly and Mark on Monday. I’m really glad he won.
I just heard on the noon news that Tina Turner died. 😿 she was 83.
I’m going through stuff in my house, too. I have a lot of stuff to get rid of.

Mary, you are such a hard worker. I get tired just reading about all the work you do. I’m also embarrassed that I don’t do nearly as much as you do, and I really should! Do you watch The Voice? They did a nice job of celebrating Blake Shelton’s last show. He’s going to be missed. He was really a good coach, winning 9 times in the 12 years he was on the show.

Well, I am anonymous again. I’ll try to fix it again.

You passed the test.

SacBarb, also goes by "Unknown". Yes I watched the Voice. I missed the beginning. I also watched AI. Loved that Iam Tongi won!
My parents lived on Maple Street. They had a huge maple tree that I used to play house under. Those roots caused havoc on our plumbing! I see the new owners had it torn down. It was bad enough having a family of 7 using one bathroom without having flushing problems too!

I have logged over 10,00 steps every day since Sat.!

Dianne, I was so happy to read about Louis's good reports! Hopefully the worst is behind him! I bet you are happy to be going to Branson and having some "me" time when Louis goes on his trip.

Justlin, So sad to see TT passed. I loved her, and those legs, oh how Jim loved those legs lol!

Good for you for organizing! I have to put my winter things away and dig out my summer clothes.

I really don't have much choice in doing things around here. Matthew & I need to because Jim is not able/ lazy lol.He has always been that way.

Matthew bought me a big roll of garden cloth that I spread and pinned down. He is setting up a drip type of irrigation so I don't have to either drag the hose out there or carry buckets of water. I will be planting this week end.

It has been such a crazy few days. I think I need a long va-ca lol! Sunday our dryer finally pooped! I had washed two loads and couldn't dry them, so I went to the dreaded laundry-mat!
Jim & I drove to Lansing Tues. evening and ordered a new one. It was supposed to be here this morning. Well, low & behold, when we removed the old dryer we noticed the washer had a leak! We wouldn't have known other wise. We checked the basement ceiling under the washer and saw a wet spot. Oye vey! This was Tues, Well Jim insisted on driving back to where we got the dryer and cancelled it and ordered the washer/dryer combo sale. Since they only deliver on Weds. they won't be here until next week. I just came back from the laundromat again. I will b using the washer, but have to put towels down where the leak is.
Good thing Jim won almost a grand at the Casino Tues. lol!

Ok, I am admitting this... I thought it was Thurs all day today! I drove to my hair apt. and realized it was for tomorrow, the real Thursday lol! I told you I need a va-ca!!

Mary, I had an appointment at Kaiser with my Kidney doctor about a month ago and since I’m not driving anymore, Chad and I showed up we thought we were late because we couldn’t find parking close by. The receptionist had a strange look on her face when I said my name, she looked at the schedule and then said “your appointment is tomorrow!” So, after my appointment on the next day, I needed to make another appointment for a month later, the receptionist said “we can do a phone appointment next time so if you get the days mixed up, at least you won’t have to leave home!”

Barb said...

Crap! It happens again.

Barb said...

Now I’ve really screwed it up. I’ll come back tomorrow and try again.

At least I have a name now. I just have to find my avatar.

sacBarb said...

I hope my name and avatar are back.

I have spent all morning at my sister’s condo ‘supervising’ the third plumber that has been there in 10 days. She still has no working toilet. This one tried to snake the roots out through the hole where the toilet used to be, but the roots broke the blade on the snake. So it looks like the more extensive work has to be done. Another estimate will be going to the condo HOA. I hope they make a decision soon!

Happy Memorial Day everyone.

SacBarb, I see you are back, pic & all!
What a mess with the dam roots!I am surprised she is allowed to stay there under those conditions. The health dept would have a field day!
I feel your pain on messing up appts.!

I had a Chiro appt. today. I told him I was having sciatica pain & limping since our last session. Thank goodness all is better now!

Have a safe Holiday week end!
