This is what I wrote on the last blog the night before this new blog posted.

My daughter left to drive home to Eugene on Saturday, December 30. On Jan. 1st, she had cold symptoms and tested positive for COVID. I tested myself 3 times since and remain negative. I'm confident I'm okay, now. We don't know where she got it. She met up with friends at restaurants a couple of times but they didn't come down with it. She also went to the grocery store one. I'm glad she's had her vaccines and hasn't had to deal with anything worse than cold-like symptoms.

Last Saturday night I was hearing some really loud bangs right next to my house. There would be a pause and that another bang. I was super irritated about it as it was right outside my bedroom where my neighbor and I both have gates going to our respective back yards. It was after 1 a.m. so I was not a happy camper. The next day I texted him that I would like him to refrain from doing whatever he was doing so late at night because it was as loud to me as if he was slamming my bedroom door. I got a text back that he and his fiance were in LA all weekend and not coming back until that night. Oops! I checked the side of the house and all was okay except I did see a number of raccoon footprints going up my gate. My conclusion is that raccoons were going over my gate and landing on some planks the gardeners and put down to make it easier to push the lawnmower over the shallow steps leading the yard. There is a raccoon family in the neighborhood. I hope they don't make a habit of going over my gate.

Tomorrow I'm having new lenses put in my glasses. My current lenses are so scratched up, it's like and extra layer of cataracts. I'm getting the same Rx as that works fine. This spring I'll be getting cataract surgery so will probably need a new Rx after that. We'll see.

Barb, speaking of neighbors, that reminds me, is there anything new going on with your neighbor's house? Great news that the headaches with the bank are finally over. You should have had a drink to celebrate. What a long pain in the ass that whole situation was.

Mary, that situation with your bladder is really scary. That could become a very serious medical emergency. Please don't carry heavy items. Those cases of water could have remained in the car until the menfolk got home. Because I don't want to risk making my bad shoulder worse again, I dismantle the cases of water and take half of them in at a time.

Dianne, how did it go with your primary doctor? I'm so sorry that Louise is in pain with his hip. The 10th is a long way off when you're hurting. Is your car good as new, now?

I posted a comment yesterday on the new blog but it’s not here! Don’t know what happened! I’ll try it again. I don’t have a lot to report, but as JL said, Citibank finally came through with the money they owe Marie. I got a check in the mail on Friday. No ‘sorry it took so long’ or any other explanation other than ‘here’s a check for the credit balance on your account’. It’s been almost three years! I actually kinda gave up on it. I was just exhausted from all the hours I spent on hold just to be told they would look into it! Other than that, there’s not much new. We’re still working on Marie’s house, trying to get it ready for sale. Still a lot to do before we can get workers in to paint, repair, etc. She didn’t take care of it at all! We ordered a cake for her 93rd birthday on Friday, so we’ll be celebrating with the folks at her care home. That’s about all the news from Sac.

JL, How scary hearing strange noises in the middle of the night. I hope the critters that were making the noise. Don’t continue to do that every night. What a shock that your daughter lost her job after all those years with the company. How is she doing in her job hunting? Are there a lot of opportunities up there in Oregon?

Dianne, how are you and Louis doing? I hope things are going better for you.

Mary, I’m so sorry about your nephew. Is there any more information about what happened? He was so young. I hope you’re doing OK through all of this bad weather In your area. Thank goodness for your generator.

I have read comments and will return later tonight. I have been out shoveling heavy snow, so Zoie can do her business. It is now raining so the snow will most likely melt.
Today has been busy. It is also "Taco Tues." LOL, so, I better get busy with that !

I’m here. We r doing ok. Louis had hip shots wed but so far nothing. Dr said could take 7-10 days. We shall see if not I’m calling hip,Dr. I already have referral done too. This can’t go on. My pt and ot ended last Friday I still am having nurse visits. I had open skin tears on both arms so they r almost healed. One was from Branson four months ago. She will probably stop, next week.
My car is finally fixed to the tune of $2000. Not in my budget. Today I was driving and kept hearing a beep, it was freaking me out. When I got home it was my oxygen beeping. I’m so glad it wasn’t my car. My primary dr went good plus I lost like 30 pounds in two months. I told u rehab for was horrible plus my appetite has changed
Barb, I’m so glad you finally received that check boy, that was a long time. How was the bday for your sister?
JL,that would Have scared me hearing that noise later at night. How’s the job hunting going for your daughter?
What kind of work did she do? It’s so hard out there right now. W
We r finally getting our Christmas things taken down tmrw. I’m so glad. It’s hard to arrange friends to take it down. Next year it’s up to my granddaughters to help. I already put them on notice. Louis just can’t carry things up and down the stairs I’m ready to put the holidays behind us. Nov and Dec were not my favorite months. And very expensive too. I just received a bill for $400 for meds my ins won’t cover it as I was in the donut hole while in rehab dumb. Between my car and health it’s a lot of money.

Well that’s about it. I’m probably going to take a short nap, before the news.
