This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Hi there! Dianne, your car is a bute! Glad you bought a GM/USA product. Sorry Louis fell again! Doesn't he use a cane? Jim refuses to use one on his walks. I think you should at least look into a retirement place. He might be surprised how nice and convenient they are now. They have come a long way from the old grungy places. Living on a single floor home would be good for the both of you. We have had a couple of days of heavy rains. I haven't had to water my garden or flowers :) The tornados have stayed further south of us, thank goodness! Matthew & I have been busy trimming limbs that hang low that make it hard to see going out of our driveway. We live at the bottom of a hill and hard to see cars coming. I think the hardest part of trimming, is dragging all the limbs away. Matthew is good at prepping the John Deer tractor/mower . It is not an easy task for a big mower. He has to take the snow plow off first then put on new blades and check all parts before mowing. I had lunch with my friends last week and a meeting/luncheon with my GM/UAW retirees. It's really the only connections I have had with anyone. I have an 80th birthday party this Sat. and one next month. Both are gals I worked with at Chrysler Trim until it shut down. I loved working there. It was only 6 miles from me! The town was devastated when it closed dawn! Well, back to laundry, cleaning kitchen (Jim wanted pancakes today), dusting, sweeping, changing bedding, feeding birds, and getting all my stretches and Tai chi and short walk in. Later a bit of gross-ery shopping. Later...
Hello, all! It was great having my daughter and her dogs here. It always feels empty around here when she leaves. My new little dog, Buster, is keeping me occupied. It started out that he had a little cough after being rambunctious and grew into a nearly constant cough any time he moved around. I took him to the vet yesterday and he's now on antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection. He's already doing better. I have a king size bed so when we go to bed, he sleeps in a little bed on my bed. This is working out well for both of us. His adoption fee was $400 so he better earn his keep. LOL
Today I went and got my COVID booster. Next week I'm going to see my doctor, really just kind of for the hell of it because I got notice that she's retiring at the end of the month. I'm sure I can come up with an ailment to complain about. I hate having to start with another doctor. Kaiser has assigned one for me and at least it is a woman.
Dianne, I don't know what happened to your post but I'm sure I saw it last night. I'm trying to remember all you wrote. I love your new , red car. I always wanted a red car so that's what we bought 20 years ago when we got my Prius. Still love my car even if it isn't the beauty it once was. It has never given me any trouble in all these years. I hope Louis is doing okay. I really wish he would reconsider moving, at least to a place with only one floor. I'm so glad your granddaughters are so helpful to you. It seems they've had the same boyfriends for a long time now. Do you like them both?
Mary, I'm sure glad those tornadoes have left you alone. Thankfully, we aren't having any dramatic weather. I wouldn't mind a little rain. Lately, it's been cool and gray and breezy most days. It sounds like you got your garden planted just in time. I used to keep up better with my former co-workers but that kind of went by the wayside with the pandemic. I am friends with some of them on FB. I'm friendly with my neighbors but my friend Jane is the only one I actually go out and do stuff with, anymore.
Barb, it's time for you to chime in and let us all know how it's going with your post-surgery PT. I'm starting to see promos for the next Golden Bachelor show. Oh, and we have Bachelor in Paradise coming up in a couple of weeks. They'll be in Costa Rica this time. I really need to get my nails done. They're too long and getting in the way of typing. I have to keep correcting myself. Annoying!
Hi. I don’t know where my post went darn it . I’m doing ok. I think I told u all, that Louis fell down at the dealer in the bathroom. Floor was wet and he slipped . Got skinned up,and hit his eye but was ok. He laid on the floor yelling help, until, someone heard him . We went to “look” at cars and came home with a gmc Terrain..red. It had 10 miles on it I love the color and cameras. I asked Barb if she drives anymore? We live in a ranch house. There is a finished basement where Louis had his bedroom but he is upstairs now. We never go downstairs as everything is up on main level. Louis just isn’t very stable We met a friend for lunch and he told her he can’t go there anymore..too hard we’ve made the decision he’s not going to Branson in Sept. I’m going with my aunt. Things r pretty much paid for now. I’m too worried about him falling there.. he will be ok here with people checking on him. I feel relieved. I’m signing off now you sleepy
