Well, I seem to not want to finish spelling my words this morning lol!!

Mary LOL @ not finishing your words.

Yay for your contractor finally finishing up. What a relief!

HOdi I'm so sorry that your knee isn't getting better and that you are still in pain. I hope the new therapy is useful. Make sure you do what you're supposed to as far as getting off your feet and icing that knee.

Dianne Thanks for the blog today. I find that I don't dust or do any other type of housework as often as I once did. My standards have lowered as I've aged. LOL

It seems everyone is MIA. I had a great visit with my son and grandkids yesterday. Reports earlier in the week had predicted rain and thunderstorms but all that happened was a very light rain as I was crossing the San Mateo Bridge. I'm quite dependent on my phone's GPS so was happy that weather did not cause disruption with that. I met my son and his kids in Pleasanton at the Black Bear Diner. I always forget how much food they give you. We had trouble fitting all the plates on the table and we certainly left a lot uneaten. Oh, well. At least no one went away hungry. That's for sure.

Ok....I'm here just been busy doing I don't know what....pedicure, nails, thinking about packing (suitcases are out and waiting). Did a little Walmart last minute items today. I get hair colored tomorrow.

I went to a graduation party on Saturday most of the day. JL, it looks like u had a good time with your family. The are all very nice looking. Interesting that your granddaughter decided to get out of cheer. The drama is crazy that's for sure.

Mary, did you find your bookcase you were looking for the other day? How's the room coming? What have you been doing all weekend?

Barb, winning big bucks? Seeing any shows? Anxious to hear about your trip.

Jodi, how are you and Sam feeling? Looks like your nephews graduation was a success. Did your brother show up?

I'm nursing this dental thing along but it sure puts stress on me worrying about it. I wish it would have all come up after the trip. I took a really long time friend to lunch today for her 65th birthday. She was excited to start MEDICARE. I'm still not loving the prescription part much!!

Kayla didn't show up for workmsaturday as she said she thought she had someone covering her shift...not!! She was "busy" at a free concert. Grr she certainly can irritate me. Now she wants back in cheer. Tammy caught her at Jake-ass's work the other day. She quickly drove off when she saw mom. He's still posting his (yuck) love for her on FB. He's supposed to be blocked. I guess that hasn't happened. I'll be glad to get away for awhile.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Gee, Kayla hasn't had that job very long and she's already acting like it's not a real commitment to her. Not a good sign, nor is the fact that she is still in contact with Jake-ass. She will outgrow this. Too bad it isn't right now.

I'm on Medicare but with Kaiser which includes prescription coverage. I'm very happy with it.

I'm glad you showed up here. I was beginning to get lonely. When do you leave for your trip? I hope you are able to enjoy yourself and not worry about your bridge too much.

SLIN - I had my free consultation yesterday. WOW!!! Very intense, but it makes sense to me. I've never had such a deep tissue massage, and when they did the electrical stim portion, we found that my knee pain is coming from my left quad. Crazy!!! I am going back. Hopefully on Thursday. And bonus....my insurance will pay 60%!!

DIANNE - My brother wasn't invited. James only wanted the people that have truly supported and loved him to be there. Unfortunately, my brother doesn't fall into that category. He is still being controlled by his second wife. When I talked to my friend that is an intuitive, she couldn't even talk about Brenda. She said when she did, she felt like she was being choked. Crazy, right? But this is what another intuitive has told James, too! They all can't be wrong!

MARY - I can't wait to see pics of your finished room!

BARB - Looks like you are having fun in Vegas!

I best go hoist n' rinse. I work a later shift today.

I can't tell you how happy I am that my room is done! I did find the desk/sofa table and corner piece. I found a rip in my old curtains where the blade went through so I replaced them. I am glad we put down a wood floor instead of replacing the carpet.
I want to put out pics, but first have to figure out how to do the "before and after" split screen thingy.
I have been busy gathering all the receipts and estimating costs for our labor, replacing damaged items, washing and painting walls, removing carpet and laying down new flooring etc., so Jim can take to the insurer.I kind of wish I had gotten a lawyer. It would have been easier! I just didn't want to appear greedy! I just want what is fair.
Sunday, pre Memorial Day, I usually spend all day at our VFW, helping to feed the peeps from the American Legion Post who always bring their color guard to many surrounding memorials and cemeteries. Our Ladies Aux. participate in some of the ceremonies.
Monday is our usual job hosting the Memorial day Karaoke contest after the parade at a nearby village. It is usually hot and almost always rains! Looks like the same coming this year! Hopefully it will hold off until all the festivities are done!
I need to get to bed!

Dianne, get packing and have a ball! The teeth will have to wait their turn lol!

Hodi, glad you are taking care of yourself!

JL, sounds like you had a great trip! I count on my Jeeps Navigation, so I understand! I got a bit panicky one time because I had not turned up the volume on my new Jeeps navigator! I couldn't hear the voice directions! I pulled over before getting on the expressway and turned it up!

MARY - Sounds like a busy weekend!! I will be working all weekend, including Monday. Can't pass up the opportunity at time and a half! Sounds like the weather will be much like yours. I'd like to get to our Bratfest in Madison on Saturday. Travis Tritt is headlining on Saturday. I haven't seen or listened to his music since the 90's. They posted some recent music and he still looks and sounds good!

Jodi said...

Update: I just talked to Paul and he said no to the Travis Tritt concert. He was concerned it would be too much walking for me right now. I still would like to go up there for a brat and a beer!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi I think Paul is right to discourage you from overdoing it with your knee. It's hard enough on it that you work so much, even if the overtime is good. My brother is still trying to get his head wrapped around the idea of doing the knee replacement surgeries. Judy G. was nice enough to let me give him her number since she had both knees done at the same time so I figured talking to her would be helpful. I don't think he's called her yet, though.

I spent part of yesterday at the hospital keeping my friend, Jane, company. I usually have dinner on Tuesdays with Jane and her husband, John. Well, Monday night John had discomfort in his chest. He already has a pacemaker and a few stents. Anyway, yesterday morning he had 3 more stents put into his heart. Everything went well and when they let Jane and I see him before they took him up to Recovery, he was his usual jocular self. Later, Jane and I had a couple of well deserved drinks and a very nice dinner at a local restaurant.

Mary Hopefully, there won't be any problems getting reimbursed for the damage and repair work that had to be done. This is exactly why we pay to have insurance. I'm feeling frustrated with my gardener right now as he and his crew are the ones that removed the tree that went down in early March and then replaced a bunch of fencing. The new fence looks great and the man who owns the house next door will pay for half of it. The problem is getting my gardener to give me a proper bill that I can give the owner of the neighboring house. When the gardener removed the downed tree, I have him a check for that cost as well as an additional $1,000 to get fencing supplies and get started on removing the crushed fence and start building a new one. Well, so far I just have a normal monthly bill from him that showed what I owed for gardening plus what was still due for the fence. I keep telling him I need something in writing that shows the entire cost of the fence, not just what is still do. The response I get is, "I know. Don't worry. I'll get for you.," English is Guadalupe's second language. This is driving me nuts.

Mary/MI said...

JustL, I didn't pay anyone anything. I waited until the job was done and the bill given to me to give the insurer. No one gets paid until I get that check from the insurer!

Hodi, I went to a Travis Tritt concert many many years ago. He kind of pissed me off and I haven't liked him since I am petty like that sometimes lol!!
Billy Ray Cyrus had just broke out into fame with the white tennis and long hair and of course that song " Don't break my heart". Well, Travis made a big point of ridiculing him and his style. I yelled out "Get over it!" I think he got the point when others agreed with me.

Just_Lin said...

Mary My insurance paid (less $!,000 deductible) for the downed tree removal and 1/2 of the cost of the damaged fence, since California law is that each neighbor pays 1/2 for shared fence. I did have even more fencing replaced that was old and not super stable. The owner of the neighboring house agreed to pay 1/2 for all of the fencing work and I've only paid the guy who did the work 1/2 of the total cost of fence since I did get check from insurance. He's not going to get the other half until he gives me something in writing that shows how much the whole thing costs to begin with. Ay-yai-yai!

Good for you for standing up for Billy Ray Cyrus. Travis seemed to think that country music was a private club or something.

Well, we leave tomorrow and I'm packed. I just have a few last minute things for morning. We are taking a smaller suitcase for the first two nights before we get to Louisville. It gives me a little extra room. It's hard packing for 16 days. Louis had to go buy more underwear!! It's going to be hot so I have to change tops every day..I would anyway. Lots of tops!!

I'm in charge of looking for tornados on the trip. Great job!! I sure hope not to have any bad weather. Louis's daughter said its 90 there. I'm not thrilled about it. I will be rushing from the car to the hotel. I'm still stressed about my bridge. Send good vibes to us for safe drive, weather and that my teeth don't fall out!! It's really putting a cloud over me.

Jodi, you need to be gentle to your knee. I wish you could get some time off. Rest whenever you are off.

JL, glad your friend is doing well. Very scary. I'll bet jane was glad to have you with her. It's always nice to have company when you are going through things.

Mary, so frightening just looking at your office pictures again. Need to see finished project. Sounds like you have a busy weekend. I'll be going to lunch with Beverly on Wednesday. Im looking forward to seeing her again.

Barb, were you and Beverly able to meet? What are you doing with all those winnings from Vegas? Did you go to any shows? Have fun in San Diego.

I'll be checking in while I'm gone.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Safe travels and have fun on your trip. Have you checked the pharmacy for bridge repair kit or perhaps dental glue? I know they have denture repair kits. Good to have in case of emergency when on a cruise or other trip.

I don't think Barb was able to meet up with Beverly as Barb's flight was much earlier than she originally thought.

SLIN - How is Jane's husband doing? She is lucky to have you to sit with her. And I'm glad you got a chance to have dinner and a drink!

I know it's probably for the best. I was just trying to think of something for Paul and I to do this weekend.

Yesterday Milissa told me she wouldn't be giving me those 7 day stretches anymore. She also has been VERY accommodating with my restrictions this week!

I go back today for another treatment. I'm looking forward to it and making more progress!

Jodi said...

MARY - Good to know. I would've been turned off by that, too! I hate people that put others down so publicly!

Your office looks great! Now to get that bill....good luck with that!!

DIANNE - Safe travels!! I see BEBBI has been doing Facebook Live on her travels in Cali. Maybe she can do that when you are having lunch! I'd love to see you both together ♥

Hello from sorta sunny San Diego. The sun is out but the temps are in the high 60s and low 70s, which is cold for me.

I had a nice flight down here and Todd picked me up from the airport. We were driving to his place and he told me he was going another way because they were doing construction. So he pulled up in a strange driveway and turned the car off and I said "what's here?" He said " my house." After a couple back-and-forth huh, what, he finally said "we bought a house!" I screamed and smacked him in the arm. He just said he wanted to surprise me. They moved in April and he would have told me, but since I was coming down he thought it would be fun to just surprise me. I am so happy for them. They have been saving and wanting this for a long time. It has three bedrooms, two baths, a nice kitchen and the backyard has a nice big deck. They don't have beds for the other two bedrooms, so I bought them a futon ( their choice) for selfish purposes. Now I don't have to sleep on the sofa. LOL It will be delivered any minute. They leave for the airport at 6:00 and will fly to New York, then they will leave on their cruise on Friday afternoon.
