Happy Mother's Day!

Drove home from LOIS's this morning and took a nap. Sam said she would watch Fried Green Tomatoes with me later. Tim is still at work. I'm hoping we can go out for dinner. That would make me happy!

Happy Mothers Day everyone. Hope you all had a nice day. We went to early dinner at my son Todds house and Tsmmy and family came too. I always like having a very one together. My DIL gave Kayla some talking to also. I Think Kayla is done with Jake-ass. She loves her job and she might get go to dinner with someone from the movie. I only hope he's not worse. At least we know he has a job. I'm praying big time about her being done with him. She told me today that he kicked her. Asshole.

Tammy and I went to Barry Manilow last night and loved it. It was a great show and we knew all the songs...of course. He looked good and sounded good. He's 70 now. Sure didn't look it. Friday night two of my grandsons were confirmed do I got to see them twice this weekend! Good weekend. Tomorrow I have dermo for 6 mo checkup and then another dr In afternoon....not too fun of a day but dinner with my niece.

Barb, what did dr think the foot thing is coming from..did he know? Does it hurt? It sounds like you are doing great on your project. I'm hope you and Beverly get a chance to meet up when she's there. When will that be?

JL, I like that restaurant too. I haven't been there for a long time. We went to Mac grill last night. It was good. Sounds like that cake was good too. Glad you had a fun night.

Jodi, glad you are home safe. What did you do on your mini trip? Did you all go dancing to that place we went down there?

Mary, I think it looked like you were winning money on fb pictures. I'm sure you are having fun.

DIANNE - I went down to LOIS's because of the annual fundraiser for the youth center she is on the board for. Friday we just chilled at home with beers, and Saturday was the fundraiser. Sam and I left at about 9 am yesterday. The exit I typically take to get on the interstate in Rockford was closed, so we ended up doing a drive on all back country roads. Ugh!!! It took about a half an hour longer than it normally would.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi It sounds like you had a fun weekend. I got the impression that the fundraiser was either a sale or an auction. Did you come home with anything?

I recently read Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe and enjoyed it. I've never seen the movie. I'll have to catch it sometime.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne It sounds like Jake-ass is losing his appeal to your Kayla. Yay! Getting that job at the movie theater may be a godsend in helping her separate from him.

It sounds like it was quite a busy weekend for you. My Mother's Day was quiet this year. Cards, calls, and flowers were the order of the day. It was a cool, gray, and dreary day. Today isn't looking much better.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Congrats on your very good luck in Vegas. Why can't I do that? One of these days I will have to go gambling with you and see if I can pick up any pointers. Of course, I assume you aren't raking it in my playing penny machines like I play. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Barb You are being so industrious getting that closet all organized. I need to be inspired by that. I did clean my bathroom yesterday but that's as energetic as I got. Did you go see Jungle Book? I've seen trailers for it and it looks really neat. The animation looks fantastic. I've been binge watching a British show on Amazon Prime that aired several years ago. It is about the people who live in a hamlet and a nearby town during the 1800's. I'm totally enjoying it and am sad that I only have one more season worth of shows to watch.

Jodi said...

SLIN - Yes, they call it a Drawdown. You purchase a ticket for $50. That includes dinner for 2 and free beer. Your ticket then goes in for a drawing. Most go into the "lucky loser" drawing for $200, but then every 10 tickets drawn either get $25 or $50, until the end when they have a $500 and $1500 prize. They also have silent and live auction items. I got a really pretty gray tote that had a couple of thermos's in it, and I also got a zero gravity chair. I've always the ones that LOIS has. I'm going to use it to soak in the sun in my backyard this summer!!

10!!!

Jodi said...

DIANNE - I love Barry Manilow! How great you and Tammy got to see him. I'm so glad Kayla is done with Jake-ass! Sounds like you had a full, fun weekend :)

sacBarb said...

J/L, We did see Jungle Book and we both really liked it. The animation was amazing! We had a really nice breakfast at a new place called Angel's Platter. It's a non-profit restaurant that provides jobs for people who have been in prison for non violent offenses and are trying to get back on their feet and into society. The food was very good and the prices are very reasonable.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I'm not sure if Beverly and I are going to be able to connect. I thought my flight was at 5:00, the same as hers, but I got it wrong and I leave at 11:00am. I'm glad to hear that Kayla is going to go out with someone else. I hope it's someone nice and she sees how a girl is supposed to be treated. That would reinforce how much of a jerk Jake-ass really is!

sacBarb said...

Mary, Looks like you came home a big winner. Yayyyyy for you.

Jodi said...

BARB - Sam saw Jungle Book, too! She said it was visually stunning!

Whew, I finally got a few minutes to sit down today!
Our contractor stopped by early this morning! He could have called. Oh well, he said he was lousy at getting back with people! No shit! He promised to be here tomorrow. Time will tell!
I won almost my biggest money on a table game called "Let it Ride" It was an expensive table. They always raise the table stakes on week ends. I almost didn't play it! I decided, what the hell, its Mother's Day! I wasn't having a lot of luck and was about to leave. I had $55 riding on the table. You can pull back two spots ($15 a spot)if the dealer's cards don't coin-side with yours. I got a "full house" and made about $400. My next hand got me 4-of-a-kind which is almost the best hand you can get in that game. That won me over $4,000. I almost passed out lol!!
I played a bit more, grabbed my loot and split!

I play mostly video poker. I did pretty good there too. Jim did good on a weird "Buffalo" fancy-dancy game. I am not fond of the cartoonish games.I'm too old fashion I guess! Hate learning new games lol!

I am having lunch with my old work pals tomorrow, so I am leaving them men alone to deal with the contractor. Hopefully it will be a one day job and I can paint my last wall Thursday.

Dianne, I was happy to read about your Grand daughter and her hopefully moving on without the abuser!

Jodi, I know the feeling. There is construction on two of the blacktop roads leading to where I go most often! I can either take nasty dirt roads (*gasp*, my new Jeep!!), or take a longer rout!

Barb, I did see the "Ellen" slot machines, but didn't try them.

JL, Jim played the Penny machines, but he "loads" them up, so it can be expensive. He did pretty good. He was there all week and came out pretty good.

I can't believe how cold it is here! There was a cold spell and rain while in Vegas!
I think we get one warm and dry day tomorrow before going back to cold and wet crap again!
LOL,I am sounding bitchy!! Better get to FB. and to bed.

Just_Lin said...

Mary I'm glad your contractor showed up. What's the latest? Did he follow through and actually come back and do the work when he said he would?

I would be so excited if I won the kind of money you did. I saw that you went to Nordstrom's, too. Did you leave part of your winnings there?

Just_Lin said...

HOdi I don't think I know what a zero gravity chair is. I'll have to Google it. How's Sam coming along with her knee and foot? Does she still see that guy she was living with or is that long over and done?

Just_Lin said...

Barb It's another dreary looking day here on the coast. Yesterday I took the dog for a walk and it hurt me hips but not as bad as it did the other day. How are you doing with your back? Are you good as new now or still healing?

Just_Lin said...

Dianne What are you up to today? I don't have much planned except that I need to go to the post office. I plan to have dinner with a couple of friends tonight so that will nice. Once of these days I have to get serious about going on a diet. Not sure what I'm waiting for.

Jodi said...

SLIN - Sam is doing ok. Next week she starts PT to help with her gait. She will finally have full weight bearing on her left leg. And no, her and Nate have been over for well over a year. She is actually in a new relationship. Her name is Brittany. I've met her and she's really nice. Sam is bi-sexual. I guess she's exploring the other side now. I really don't care, just as long as she's happy. LOIS cracked me up this weekend. She said Sam is a Slinky....fun for a girl or a boy!! Ha!!

Jodi said...

MARY - Congrats on your winnings! Did the contractor show up this morning? Ridiculous how long this project has taken. We are having a dreary week here in Wisconsin. I just want the sun back!!!

Mary/MI said...

Alleluia he came today!! The new window is in and the hole patched up! He just needs to put another layer of plaster and do the trim. He also has to find two small pieces of matching siding. I can't wait to paint and put new curtains up. I just noticed there was a tear in one of the panels where the blade came in. I am hoping hr doesn't wait another 3 months to finish lol!!

JL,I found some cute tops and a couple of summer pants at Nordstrom. I also bought a new pair of sandals.
Today I put the rest of my loot in my Credit Union. I don't like having too much cash in the house.

My sister and I are going to a concert this Sat (Heart), I have a wedding to go to next Sat. and Memorial Day I have to do the Annual street Karaoke contest. It's a pretty busy month. Oh, I also have to sing a couple of songs at the wedding reception. I need to make the time to practice!

Crap, I need to remember when my next hair appmt is! I am so forgetful!

Jodi said...

MARY - I would love to see Heart live! Those gals can rock it!

A week from Saturday I'm heading to my nephew James' graduation from UW Eau Claire. Shari (his Mom) and I are driving up Saturday and coming back down on Sunday. We got a room in Chippewa Falls. Home of Leinenkugel's Beer! So sad....his Dad (my brother) was not offered a ticket for graduation. Can't say that I blame James.

Mary/MI said...

Jodi, Are Father and son estranged? Is this the brother that gave you a hard time after your Dad passed?
When I read "Leinenkugel's Beer!" I quickly got a visual of Betty White in "The Golden Girls' LOL!

Just_Lin said...

HOdi What a sad situation that James did not want to invite his father to his graduation. Just goes to show that your brother is being a jerk to more than just you so I hope you aren't worrying about your own relationship to him. Cut it loose. Maybe someday he will realize what he is losing with his crappy attitude but maybe not.

BTW, I'm glad you like Brittany. :)

Just_Lin said...

Mary Yay for getting the window in and the hole repaired! I hope he comes back soon to complete the finishing touches.

What are you going to sing at the wedding? Unfortunately, I can't carry a tune. I desperately need to go shopping for new clothes but I hate it.

Mary/MI said...

JL, I have been practicing a few today. I'm not sure which I will pick. I love Juice Newton's " The greatest thing I've ever known, is Loving you." They love oldies thank goodness! It will be an informal wedding. My friend (calls himself "the Dude") has a large farm. The reception will be in his huge barn. It should be fun. He too has a Karaoke business on the side. We met at a karaoke bar years ago. He sings a lot of Johnny Cash stuff.

Contractor stopped in today and did some more wall prepping. Tomorrow he will prolly frame in the window and give the wall one more go over before it can be painted.
I can't wait until it is done! I am so tired of dusting and vacuuming everything over and over! I hate breathing in all the plaster dust!

Sleep tight all!

Hi....well, I've been at the darn dentist again!! My tooth holding a bridge cracked away from the bridge so I have to get a tooth pulled, bone Graf, two implants and then bridge made again. It will take six months so I will have a temp plate so I have teeth as the bridge includes four teeth. Total cost $14,127.00. She (my dentist) will have her oral surgeon do it snd btw, they are putting me out for this. Now to do it now before vacation or after...I've decided to wait until after ..the day after we get home and pray the bridge doesn't break in the wait. What a damn expensive pain. Poor Louis will never retire!! Between his eye surgery, his implant and now this surprise expense. We should probably cancel this trip.

We are having beautiful weather. Had the car washed today. It's all bright shiny red!!

Mary, so glad your repairman finally came today. I hope he finishes the job for you. Looks like you'll be singing like a bird this month. Why didn't you sing for us at our gathering? Congrats on that big win.

Kayla went to pick up something at Jake-ass house and now she's texting him again. Hopefully with work and prom she will be distracted. She went with a new work friend to dinner and movie on Monday night. I wish she'd just stay away from boys for awhile.

JL, I think I've asked you this before but I forget..do you ever order clothes online? I do all the time. I was just thinking since you don't like to shop.

Jodi, I see you had your knee checked today. I hope the shot helps you. Glad SAMs leg and foot are weight bearing now. I'll bet she's missing work. I'm glad you like Brittany too.

Barb, how are you doing? Boy, you craft room looks great. You have a lot of things.

Jodi said...

MARY - Yes, they have been estranged for almost 2 years. It's sad really, but Eric continues to be controlled by his second wife. I guess the red light on that was when after they got married, she cut all contact with her own parents!!

Jodi said...

SLIN - It still hurts. I keep sending him love from afar...that's all I can do. He has done the same with Aunt Jane. I suspect because she is so close to me. I have a friend that is an intuitive and she has, on more than one occasion, told me that Eric is being controlled by his second wife. She can't even talk about her, she feels like she's being choked.

Jodi said...

DIANNE - Sorry about your huge bill for your bridge. I hope it holds out til after you get back. I took the girls out for lunch yesterday. All I can say is that Sam looks so happy! And of course that makes me happy. So far, so good with the shot. The x-rays show bursitis and some mild arthritis. I'm so glad they could fit me in yesterday! When I go to PT today they will see the results of the x-ray and my visit. I hope Kayla doesn't fall back into the same crap with Jake-ass! Good luck ♥

Jodi said...

BARB - Good grief woman....so much stuff, but it looks great! It's like you have your own little craft store!

Jodi said...

I best go hoist 'n rinse. Day 5 of 7 in a row. OY!!!

Have a great day HOoters ♥

Just_Lin said...

Mary I don't know if I know that song. Maybe I would know it if I heard it. There are so many great love songs, especially among the "oldies".

Just_Lin said...

Dianne OMG! I think I would be in tears if I was facing all that dental work and the cost of it. I hope your bridge holds up during your trip. I guess you better just eat soft foods. At least it is a land trip and not out to sea so if the worst happens you may be able to get in to see a dentist along the way that can repair the bridge temporarily.

I saw last night that Jake-ass responded to something Kayla posted so I guess they are still friends on FB. That's kind of unfortunate. I checked out his FB page and he seems to be an immature jerk, which is not news to you. The boy has a lot of growing up to do.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I don't know how you handle all the choices you have with your craft stuff. I have a little bit of stuff from when I was putting together photo albums and even with that I would get stymied trying to decide what color, what design, etc. Too many choices for me.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi I'm being a slug today. I woke up the first time at about 7 and decided that was too early so I went back to sleep. Then I woke up the second time at 11! Now I don't feel inspired to do anything. It's cool and gray here on the coast so that isn't helping me perk up. I think my "get up and go" got up and left.

Mary/MI said...

Hi Gals!
The guy made a quick stop today. He did one more layer of plaster. At least today he vacuumed up his mess. He won't be back until next Mon. or Tues. to sand down the surface so I can paint, then he will trim the window. We decided I should paint before trim goes up. I'm not that good of a painter lol!!

Jodi, I am glad your daughter is doing better and in a happy relationship.

JL, I used to make jewelry. I had beads and doo dads up the arse lol! Most are in storage. I loved hunting for unusual beads. I rarely made "conventional" necklaces, bracelets or earrings. I geared more to teenagers or funky peeps lol!

Dianne, what can I say? You have one 'Golden Mouth!" I will keep everything crossed while you are away hoping that everything stays put til you get back!! Try not to worry too much about it.

Our weather has been pretty fickled! Up and down, rain off and on, sun shines, then disappears! Next week should see warmer weather. I am anxious to put out flowers. There is still danger of frost here. Up North is still getting snow!

Dianne/Denver said...

JL, I am crying about this cost and I'll bet the other side will be right behind it. This is all because I had one tooth on each side that didn't have a permanent tooth under the baby tooth. What a night mare its become. It worked great for 30 years. I'm just praying nothing will happen while I'm gone. I just couldn't see going through all this six days before I left.

JL, thanks for letting me know about the FB. We didn't think they were texting...busted! Tomorrow night is prom. I'll believe it when I see her in the limo.

Jodi, how did pt go today? Did you like your brothers first wife? Did you ever like the second one? I wonder why she's so mean?

Barb, are you crafting or on your trip? Where are you?

Mary, we are having rain over the weekend they say and then 80 next week.
