Why We Love Kids.....

by Dianne

1) NUDITY
I was driving with my three young children one warm summer evening when a woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved. She was stark naked! As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my 5-year-old shout from the back seat, 'Mom, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!'

2) OPINIONS
On the first day of school, a first-grader handed his teacher a note from his mother. The note read, 'The opinions expressed by this child are not necessarily those of his parents.'

3) KETCHUP
A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the bottle. During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter to answer the phone. 'Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's hitting the bottle.'

4) MORE NUDITY

A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in amazement and then asked, 'What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a little boy before?'

5) POLICE # 1
While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I was interrupted by a little girl about 6 years old. Looking up and down at my uniform, she asked, 'Are you a cop? Yes,' I answered and continued writing the report. My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is that right?' 'Yes, that's right,' I told her. 'Well, then,' she said as she extended her foot toward me, 'would you please tie my shoe?'

6) POLICE # 2
It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. 'Is that a dog you got back there?' he asked.
'It sure is,' I replied.
Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, 'What'd he do?'

7) ELDERLY
While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs. One day I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, 'The tooth fairy will never believe this!'

8) DRESS-UP
A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party. When she saw her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, 'Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit.'
'And why not, darling?'
'You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning.'

9) DEATH
While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt. Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin. Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of the deceased.
The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said : 'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the hole he goooes.'      (I want this line used at my funeral!)

10) SCHOOL
A little girl had just finished her first week of school. 'I'm just wasting my time,' she said to her mother. 'I can't read, I can't write, and they won't let me talk!'

11) BIBLE
A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages.
'Mama, look what I found,' the boy called out.
'What have you got there, dear?'
With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, 'I think it's Adam 's underwear!'

Dianne, Thanks for sending today's blog to Tina. It really made me LOL, especially "Adam's underwear." I really needed to laugh today.

J/L, Thanks so much for the cute kitty card and get well wishes. That little kitty looks like Tara when she was just a kitten.

Too funny Dianne!! The teeth in the glass kind of reminded me of you lol! I know you can't wait to get yours fixed!

SacBarb,I hope you are on the mend! The pup is getting big, but she is still very hyper. Zoie is not amused! We try to walk them together, but Queenie is too hard to control. She wants to play and Zoie will have none of it! I also don't want her back hurt from Queenies pouncing! Doxies are prone to back problems. I am hoping once Queenie settles down a bit, they will be friends.

JL, Are you feeling better? I am staying up here high on my branch until you two feel better.. well, not "HIGH" LOL, but you know what I mean!

Just_Lin said...

Mary Being "high" would definitely be helpful. LOL

The puppy needs to learn to walk properly on a leash and that probably can't be done without serious one-on-one training. She gets too distracted when Zoie is there. Too bad Zoie isn't warming up to Queenie yet because Queenie will not stop trying to be playmates for a long, long time. Probably a couple of years. My dog was never a hyper dog, but what I did when she was a pup was have the leash wrapped around my hand enough to require her to be either next to my side or only a foot or so ahead of me. Before I knew it, that's where she placed herself in relation to me no matter how slack the leash was. Everyone compliments her on how good she walks on the leash; very calm and no pulling, ever.

I'm still creating mucus in the holes in my head. How is this possible. It's been over 2 weeks now so I figure I can't possibly be contagious. My brother is going ahead with his surgery now that his insurance issues are straightened out and I sure don't want to be getting him sick now. I fly to SoCal tomorrow. Yesterday, he told me it was 90*. Ugh!

Just_Lin said...

Barb You are very welcome for the card. I hope you are feeling better.

At some point today, I need to start organizing things so I can pack. Didn't I just do that? While I'm down at my brother's, I'm going to have to drive his truck which I've never done before. Why do I feel intimidated by that? I'm an adult. I know how to drive. Their freeways are intimidating me, too. I need to put on my big girl panties.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Thanks for the chuckles. Where are you?

Mary/MI said...

JusL, That is a great idea! I think I will wait until Jim goes to Vegas on Monday. He is harder to train lol! When Queenie tries to come in from the patio I point two fingers at her and say"no". She stays back. With Jim, she tries to sneak in and is succsessful a few times and gobbles Zoie's food in the blink of an eye! Jim is catching on lol! 'Good boy!"

Oh Missy Dianne and Hodi, please check in!!

I'm here. I've had a busy bday week. Today I was up at 6:30 for an 8am dr appt. I can't shake a cough. It makes me gag sometimes but I'm not sick. He put me on prednisone for a week and anti biotic. Hopefully that will help. We leave for Branson a week from tomorrow. Please help me hope for good weather.

Jl, I hope you start feeling better. Three weeks is a long time, will U be able to check in with us from time to time? Are you going to be cooking every day? I would be a little nervous driving a truck too. I hope he does really good. It's just one knee right?

Mary, you are going to lonely with Jim gone. Will you still have to cook?

I have one more bday lunch tomorrow. Louis and I were going to go out tonight but changed our mind. We went downtown last. GitHub to meet Tammy, James and Emilee at the speg factory. We decided we are too old for that any more. It was rush hour, there was a basketball game and protests. The traffic was horrible and so was the parking. It was very nerve wracking for us

Barb, getting any better?

P.S Mary....the tooth fairy brought me a coach purse and wallet for my dental work.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I just finished packing. I had to re-think some stuff because the suitcase came to a little over 50 lbs. I had to eliminate a couple of things and move a couple of things to my carry-on. Now I'm okay. It's bad enough to have to pay $25 for one bag. I didn't want to pay more than that.

We will go out for a couple of nice meals before his surgery on the 15th. While he's in the hospital for a few days, I'll probably just do whatever is easiest for me regarding meals. Once he's home again, I'll be doing a lot of cooking. Maybe after the first couple of weeks he'll be able to get out a little. We'll see how it goes. I will be there for Thanksgiving and this will be the first time in several years that I've cooked a whole turkey. I suppose I still remember how. LOL At least that will lead to some great leftover dinners and sandwiches.

You have a very generous tooth fairy and you deserve it with all you've been through.

Mary So here I am getting ready to leave early in the morning and I notice this afternoon that my dog has a quarter size lump on her right hind leg where they gave her her rabies shot vaccine on 11/3. I called the vet and she is now started on antihistamines and should have a warm compress applied twice a day for a week. Fortunately, my daughter will be able to do this while I'm gone. This was not the best timing to have this happen at the last minute. I guess it's Murphy's Law at work.

Mary/MI said...

JustL, Queenie gets her first rabies shot in a couple of weeks. I sure hope she doesn't have complications. I didn't know that could happen! Poor baby! Is she left to roam inside? Zoie has the run of the house and never gets into anything. She has never bothered plug ins, cables, or cords. I don't think Queenie will be there for a loooong time lol!

Dianne,I will not be cooking big meals while he is gone. Matthew is pretty good about foraging for himself lol! We do order out too. I will be too busy walking two dogs separately and feeding them to miss Jim lol! He leaves Mon.,Tues.I have a hair appointment and Wed.Is my Local 650 Retiree's Thanksgiving luncheon. Her will be home Fri night. I will surly NOT miss his snoring or thrashing about, or the loud cussing, talking and rolling out of bed "kah-Thud!" LOL!!! Zoie and I will prolly not sleep due to the quietness!!

Mary/MI said...

OK, my Local Union is not 650 lol It's 602. Hubbies is 652. Did I ever mention that I am dyslectic?? :/o

sacBarb said...

Hello HOoters.

I am getting over this cold. I am still coughing, but not as much. I've been able to sleep a little better, for which I am very grateful.

Our weather has been uncharacteristically warm. It doesn't feel like fall at all! The weather people say we will have rain on Wednesday. We had some rain when Lynn and J/L were here and Lynn took it home with her when she left, but it's coming back. LOL

sacBarb said...

Mary, Sounds like you will get a vacation from cooking while Jim is gone. Queenie sounds like a bundle of energy. I love dogs, but I knew I wouldn't be able to walk a dog every day. That's why I have cats. I had a cat from the time I was in the 1st grade until I was a senior in high school, when my parents moved to Santa Maria. I think he couldn't take the move and he quit eating. I didn't have a cat again until my oldest son was four and the cat disappeared one day. I think someone took him out of our yard. So, my current fur babies are inside cats only! I live across the street from the American River and we have a lot of river critters that visit, some of which would pose a danger to kittens/cats.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I'm glad you are having so many celebrations for your birthday. It's fun to stretch it out. Thanks again for the birthday card.

sacBarb said...

J/L, I hope you are safely at your brother's by now and the weather is not too hot for you. Try to check in when you can. <3

Just_Lin said...

Hi, HOoters! Here I am. My brother just got out of surgery and the surgeon says he did well. He will be in recovery for about an hour before going to a room. We got up at 3:30 a.m. as he was supposed to be here at 5:00 for 7:30 surgery. Then after we get here, we are told his surgery changed to 10:30. It's now 12:30 p.m. and I'm soooo tired. I should sleep well tonight!

When I arrived down here last Saturday. It was 90*. Since then it's been high 80's. Its slowly been getting cooler.

sacBarb said...

J/L, So glad everything went well for your brother. I've been thinking about you both all day. Bummer that the surgery time was changed and you didn't know. That happened to me once and my 7:30am surgery didn't happen until 4:00pm. They had some kind of emergency surgery that took all that time. I hope it continues to get cooler so you can be more comfortable.

Dianne said...

JL, so glad you checked in and your brother is on his way to getting better now. He will feel so much better. Hopefully, the weather will cool down for you. 90 is too high for me too! How are you doing driving the truck? Getting the swing of it?

We are supposed to go 80 tomorrow and then 40 on Thursday with possible snow. It should be over that night and it's been too warm to really stick. I hope not...I'm so worried about the weather and our trip.

Kayla is still on her job and going to her moms the last couple of nights. Kayla and Emilee spent some time together today and that makes us happy. Yes, Jake-ass is still in the picture.

Barb, I'm still coughing some too. I hope yours has eased up by now. I'm not much of a pet person. Both my kids have them but not us. I'm allergic and really scared of cats. I don't know why I'm so scared of them but always have been that way.

Mary, how's your time off from cooking going? Are you getting some "me" time?

We to dinner for my bday tonight with an old coworker/friend. I have a lunch Thursday and dinner Friday night and then all done except for Louis and I going out one night down the road. There's this really nice fish place we found in Branson last time on the water so maybe we will do that for it.

It's a very busy week. I'm not even half packed yet ...just a few things. I'm so bad at packing!! I even have a list and it still takes me forever.

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, I am so sorry I didn't send a Birthday card! I am using my old age as an excuse lol! It has been nice not cooking :) Matt and I just play it by ear. Today I am in a kind of turkey coma. Our Union had their thanksgiving dinner at noon. All I want to do is nap lol! I walked both dogs early this morning. Thank goodness the hunters were not shooting while Zoie was doing her business! My son made me wear his orange florescent vest so I wouldn't get shot by some hunting nut!

JustL, Jim would have been so mad at the delay! He would be a mess with out his morning coffee and cigs!!

SacBarb, I forgot you were a "cat lady" lol! I took care of my girlfriends Siamese cat a long time ago while she was on vaca. That cat was so weird and spooky! It was probably scared, but I sure was glad went it went back home lol!

Jim has been calling me twice a day from Vegas. I think he misses me lol! Meanwhile... Zoie and I are getting a lot of wonderful sleep :)

Dianne said...

That's ok Mary that you didn't send me a card but I'll be watching for that a Christmas one!!! I'm doing laundry and packing more tonight...or thinking about packing. Tomorrow nights dinner was canceled so I have a little more time to do things and I'm glad. Already did hair and pedicure just have nails left for Friday and then we leave on Saturday. I'm getting excited.

Hi Barb and JL.

Just_Lin said...

Hi HOoters. Here I am again. So my poor brother became sick to his stomach and had the sweats by the time they transfered him from recovery to his room. They think it was from the spinal they gave him. He still felt a bit yucky yesterday but they had him up and walking a couple of times and they said he had 85 degrees of movement in that knee which is excellent at this point. He is feeling very encouraged. He may be able to come home tomorrow.

Barb, it's actually been chilly the last couple of nights. I may turn on the electric blanket tonight. Tomorrow it's supposed to be about 80. Btw, I'm still coughing and it's been 3 weeks!

Dianne, did you not have pets when growing up? It seems we always had a cat and we had a couple of dogs and a parakeet. I've never been afraid of animals and I guess that's because they were always around. I remember as a kid, waking up and feeling all the wetness under the blankets next to me. I thought our cat who was under there had peed on me but she had had kittens!

Yesterday was the first day I drove my brother's truck and I drove it as cautiously as a little old lady. I only drive a couple places around town and did so again this morning. It felt a little better today. I am not going on the horrible freeways here so I go with one of my brother's friends to go to visit my brother. I wouldn't feel so intimidated by the freeways here if I had my own car.
Mary, I hope you are enjoying your days off from cooking. Tonight I just had a deli sandwich, potato chips, and a Coke. I was craving that combo for some reason. Oh, keep wearing that fluorescent vest. We want to keep you around for a long time.

Dianne said...

Oh gross JL....the cat had kittens in your bed!!!! I'd be throwing up. No, we didn't have pets growing up. I did have a lack lab when married to my first husband and I liked her. Oh yea, had a beagle too. I'd be nervous driving on the freeway in a truck too. Wow..that's a great movement already. Btw, I'm still packing.

We had quite a bit of snow today...more than predicted. I'm over it now and ready for the higher temps again.

Mary/MI said...

JustLin, LOL, I knew what Dianne's reaction would be!! I think I will join her...yuck!!

My Dad wouldn't let us have a pet, but we did adopt a calico cat on the sly. We called her "colors". I think all kids should have a pet. They learn compassion, empathy, and of course responsibility.
JL, didn't you find driving a truck gave you so much more vision as far as sitting up higher? Since driving my Jeeps, I no longer feel comfortable in a car because of being so low.

Dianne, I don't know why I am surprised you had snow, it is Nov.!! We had temps in the high 60s and getting your %#*^"< snow this week end lol!! I forget how long you will be gone. How far is Branson from you? I will have to Google. I know you will have a wonderful time! I can't remember , did you show us pics last time? Be sure and take some and show us!!

Hey Barb, how you doing??

Dianne said...

Mary, Branson is two days for us. We will stay in Kansas the first night. It's about a 13 hour drive without stopping. That's too long of a day for me in the car. We will stay in Kansas on way home too. We can't wear our Bronco shirts coming home as we are playing Kansas City that night on prime time. We see a Kenny Rogers on our last day in Branson. I'm taking some Christmas shirts since we are seeing Christmas shows. We also go to Andy Williams theater to see a show with The Osmonds and The Lennon sisters. I remember years ago going to the real ANDY Williams a Christmas show there. It should be fun...lots of music and I've scheduled us for plenty of shows. We will stay in a new time Share So should be fun. I'll send some pictures. I think I did of Nashville.

sacBarb said...

Hello HOoters.

Dianne, One of these days, I'd like to go to Branson. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Sharon and I are going to Vegas in May to see Cher. I am really excited about that. I think we are going to fly, although we are going to talk about driving. We will weigh the cost of flying and renting a car vs driving.

Mary, maybe it will be time for you to go to Vegas in May and we can meet up. Our tickets are for the May 10. Does Jim like to go to shows when you are in Vegas?

J/L, I hope your brother is home and doing better. Bending to 85 degrees is fantastic for so early after surgery. He will do great if he does the exercises faithfully.

Mary/MI said...

SacBarb,We will probably be going to Vegas about that time. Jim will go to shows if I buy the tickets...cheapskate lol!! I saw Cher there a few years back. I was so mesmerized by her! You will love her! I was thinking of going to a George Strait concert around that time. I know, I know, you hate country music lol!!

Dianne, Your trip sounds wonderful! Jim would never hold still for all those shows, especially with no gambling involved lol!
Jim got back from Vegas a couple of hrs ago. He had a good time and didn't lose too much. He always gets his room and food comped. I am glad he will be walking his dog! I am pooped from walking the two!I h ave over 11,000 steps so far and still have a couple of hrs till midnight!

It was 70 deg today. I worked outside most of the day getting everything winterized. I took in all my planters and got rid of the dead plants. My son and I put up a tarp to protect the Queenie from the elements. So far she has been sleeping in her hose on our patio. She has lots of room to play and Zoie's fenced in area to do her business. Zoie wont go near it now. We get rid of all the poop everyday, but I can't blame her for not wanting to be near where it was lol!! I now have to take Zoie out on her leash to do her business. Last call is pretty soon so I better get her out there....

Mary/MI said...

OK, you know I wouldn't let Queenie sleep in a "hose" right? :)

Dianne said...

I'm all packed!!! Actually I did pretty good this time. I'm taking too many tops but you just never know. I'm taking some cute Christmas tops since I'll be going to Christmas shows.

We went out for Chinese tonight with my aunt and uncle. I'm al, ready and my house is all nice and clean too. I always like to,leave things nice when I go. I'll barely have time to do laundry and repackaged for my bday Vegas weekend to see a George Strait. We've had the tickets for a year. Louis isn't going. I haven't been to Vegas in ten years. I'm not too excited because of my mobility. I did rent a scooter that will be waiting when we check in to the hotel. I'm dreading the whole airport part. Oh well.

Our blue skies returned today but only 40 degrees. It was actually pretty out and the roads were dry.

Barb, , I think you'd love Branson as much as you like musicals. I think it would be fun to see Cher too.

JL, how are you and your brother doing? Did he get to come home yet? Did you bring your cookbook with you so can be whipping all those meals up for your brother? You'll be like Betty Crocker. Lol.

Well, I started reading a book last night. I haven't read forever as I'm so busy playing games on iPad. Now I'm into the book!!

sacBarb said...

Mary, I do like country music. I was married to a cowboy for almost 34 years, so I learned to like it. We saw Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and a few others I can't remember. That's why I think I'd like Branson. Glad to hear Jim didn't lose too much in LV. I am never lucky when I gamble, but I only take a set amount to lose and when that's gone, I quit playing!

sacBarb said...

Dianne, How long will you be gone? I know you probably already told us, but I can't remember. I hope the weather is good for your travels.

Hey there everyone :-) I'm going to really really try to come on and visit with you guys. FB has been so full of political stuff that I rarely see just normal posts from people.I have been spending a lot of time watching Harrison for Katie. She has been getting a lot more shifts at work, so she has to go in at 4:30am. So I am at her house by 5:45am so that her hubby can leave for work. Harrison is usually asleep until 7-8, so I can just turn a movie on and relax. He is such a character! His new thing is fake sneezing :-)I have been walking with my sister every night. If it is raining, we use her exercise bike and elliptical machine. Have only had to do that once. We walked a couple times in raincoats, but it was just a light sprinkle every once in a while. We take the weekends off! YAY for that!
I think of you guys often, and wish that we all lived closer so that we could get together. I miss you Dianne so much. I miss our 2 hour lunch chats :-( I hope everything is alright with your family.
(((hugs))) are being sent to you all.

Mary/MI said...

Barb.WA, How great to have you back! I know you have been super busy with all the moving and apending time with that handsome Grandson of yours! It is so cool watching him grow up on FB! btw, I have been spending less time on FB because of the political crap. I'm afraid it will go on & on & on!! It used to be fun going there and just seeing fun stuff and family things. I do check in to make sure I don't miss anything on Harrison lol! I keep an eye out for my new Gr Granddaughter's latest pics.

Dianne, yippee, packing done! I see you got your mani done.My nails are taking a break lol!

SacBarb, I must have confused you with someone else on the country thing lol! George Straight is on my bucket list. He is the best! The only other singer I have been wanting to hear is Neil Diamond. I checked on Google and he is not currently touring :(

Justlin, How is your brother? I hope his tummy is better and he was able to go home. Now your job begins eh? You are so sweet to take care of him. I would do the same for either of my sons. Moms rock!!

Dianne said...

Hi....we're in Salina, KS for the night. It's about seven hours from our place. We will get to Branson late tomorrow. Our weather was perfect except very windy across Kansas. We will be home a week from Monday night, Barb. I ended up canceling two morning shows for next week today as I had us too booked all day and there's some other things I want to do. We were able to get a refund too.

Barb, Branson isn't all country and that's what Louis liked about it as there is all kinds of music. I'm a country person too. Sounds like you've seen a lot of stars. We are going to see a Tim and Faith next year...already have tickets. Ive seen him a few times but I l o v e him!!

Mary, I've seen Neil Diamond a few times too. Last time was last year...good concert. I'm anxious to see George in a couple of weeks. We've had those tickets for a year!!

Barb in Wa, how great to see you and hope you continue to check in with us. There are not many of us but we keep things going and we stay away from politics!! I too am so sick of all the stuff. Harrison is so cute and growing fast. I imagine you are loving being back there with your friends and family. I miss you a lot too and think of you often.

JL, how are things going? Do you have your nurses hat on?

Just_Lin said...

Hi, HOoters! My brother is doing so much better than expected. He got out of hospital yesterday and, using a walker, we went out to lunch, to drug store, grocery store, and out to dinner. He has not had need of pain meds and is walking around unaided in the house. He's also driving since surgery was on his left leg. He has 27 staples. Today we went out to lunch and ran a couple of errands. I did cook spaghetti tonight.

I don't remember being upset about the cat having kittens in my bed. I was too excited about the kittens.

It sounds Barb and Dianne have fun trips coming up.

Mary, when will Queenie be able to come in? It must be getting cold outside.

BarbWA, nice to see you. Little Harrison sure is a charmer.

sacBarb said...

Hello HOoters. We are having a little rain today. They keep telling us that even though we have had some rain this season, we are still not out of the drought. My lawn, well mostly weeds now, is turning green.

Mary, I have also seen Neil Diamond. I was totally in love with him from the time I was a teenager. He didn't make records or tour for quite a while in the 70's and in 1978 or '79 he scheduled a 'come back' tour and his first stop was Sacramento. He was here for four days and I went to two of his shows. Then he was here again in the 80's and I saw him again. Sadly, his voice didn't hold up to the earlier performances, imo, but I still loved seeing him.

Barb in WA, Good to see you in the nest. Harrison is one lucky boy having his Grandparents so close.

J/L, I am amazed that your brother is walking unaided in the house. I wasn't allowed to walk unaided by my walker for six weeks, then I had to use a cane for a couple of months. I didn't use the cane in the house, however, even though I was supposed to. And you don't have to drive the truck. Yayyy! I wasn't released to drive for six weeks when I had my left leg done and it was much longer when I had my right leg done. I suppose they have made many advances in the procedure since I had that surgery.

Dianne, I am interested in hearing who you have seen. I know you are having a good time.

Jodi, where are you?

Mary/MI said...

JustL, I would love to have her in longer especially at night. The problem is that
for some reason she is doing all her pooping in the middle of the night. She messes her crate and it's a big chore cleaning it everyday! We have tried feeding her earlier, but so far it's same as usual. Her dog house is on our patio right close to our door with a heat lamp on it. We have a camera on her. She has tarps surrounding her to keep the snow and wind away. She plays out there with her toys so doesn't seem too bad. She is able to walk down the stairs to her fenced in area.Jim & I walk her everyday to tire her out. I think we are the ones getting tired lol!!

Dianne, should you decide you don't want your GS tickets, let me know. I can always make a quick trip to Denver :)

Barb/WA,What fun it would be to live closer to each other! Can you imagine? I would have someone to see new movies, concerts, lunches and have Birthday bashes!!! *sigh*

SacBarb, Lucky you seeing Neil!! Sad to say a lot of our "singing stars" are losing their voices. The first one I noticed many years ago, I believe early 8os, was Wayne Newton. He went from playing for a large crowd in Vegas (we had nose bleed section), to a small venue at the Stardust Lounge. He spent most of his show walking up and down the isles kissing women, ick! When he finally got around to singing, his band played very loud, I am assuming to cover for Wayne's bad voice! Sad really.

I have one more Tai Chi class next Sunday. Today was brutal! I have to keep reminding myself that I will improve with time. The advanced pupils told me they have been doing it for years and still don't feel like they have it mastered. I really do love it. Winter class starts in Jan. My instructor really wants me to come, but I live 40 miles from there and I am not a fan of winter driving! I will see.....
Have a great week all!!!

Hey Ladies! Yes, I have been so busy with Harrison. Watched him again yesterday. But I love it! He was super cute yesterday. Walks around with a remote (batteries out) and talks on it like its a phone. So cute. He was jibber jabbering all day :-)

Finished up buying the last of tomorrows meal stuff today. Robert will be running up to the store in the morning though because I need some containers for mom and Robert's dad to be able to take home some leftovers. This will be the first time my mom has come to my house for Thanksgiving in something like 10-15 years. She always went to my sisters because my in-laws always came here. She asked to come here this year. I think she is still a little po-d at my sister. My sister was fine with it. Bryan is coming down too! He has not come down for a long time. He and his ex did their own dinner for years, and then after they broke up, he and friends all would get together. This year he wants to come down! I'm a happy momma :-)

I hope you are all well and that you all have a very wonder Thanksgiving!

muah!

Hi, HOoters! So, it's been 8 days since my brother's surgery. He stopped using any kind of aid walking many days ago. I guess that's from all the long distance walking he did for years. It really kept those muscles around the knee strong. He has not required anything at all from me and here I thought I'd be playing nursemaid until I go home on 12/3. It will be nice to have Thanksgiving with him tomorrow as we haven't been together for the holiday in many years.

I'm sorry I'm not on here more but my brother doesn't have wifi here and using my phone to post really eats up the battery.

Wishing you all a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
