HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, HOOTERS!

Dianne Thanks for the nudge last night. I could swear I had written on the blog just a few days ago. How time flies when I'm not doing anything important. LOL

I ordered two tops by mail and one turned out to be okay but I returned the other one. I also ordered some new tennis shoes which I assumed would be okay but after wearing them for a day I've decided I don't like them at all as they are not comfortable. They are Skechers and I love the ones I currently wear but they don't have that design anymore. I hate when that happens,

I'm sorry about your back pain. Is there anything you can take that will make it feel better? Is the cold weather making it worse?

Mary Be careful on that ice! I can laugh at the videos of people slipping and falling on ice but in truth, it would not be funny to land hard and get hurt. You are kind to your birds. I also just throw seed out on my deck when it is bad weather. For me, that just means raining, not snow blizzards. Ha! I also put out a dish of peanuts for the squirrels but it is raining right now so I've been throwing them out to the squirrels that are showing up. As usual, the crows and jays are taking advantage of this, also.

My poor dog does not like to go out to do her business in the rain. Her ears are cut and are kind of like funnels for rain so I can imagine how irritating that must be.

Barb What's up? Is Dianne going to have to hunt you down? LOL

Right now we are having normal, steady rain but last night the winds were so bad that I would not have been surprised to see fencing down. I'm sure some people lost roof tiles. I haven't seen the news this morning to hear how fast those winds were but they sure were noisy and impressive. From what I can see from my back door and window, there's no significant damage here. There are some branches down off of the redwood tree.

Last Thursday had my usual hair appointment for a cut and dye. I was tired of how red my hair always ended up so went to straight brunette. After one day, I decided my hair was too dark and rather harsh on me so I'm supposed to get that fixed today. I say "supposed to" as I did have an appointment yesterday but my hairdresser asked if we could change the appointment to today. I can't really blame her as the weather was so stormy and she's have to come down from San Francisco. Hopefully, it will really happen today as we just have normal rain (so far). Yesterday, Comcast went down for a while during the heavy wind and rain which meant no internet, no TV, and no landline.

I have not checked area 51 yet. Dianne "nudged" me too lol!
Sorry Dianne, I think I get FB confused with the nest sometimes and think I was here!
That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

This is the first day we have not had to shovel snow on the deck in two weeks! I have to keep up with it or it gets too deep and heavy! I was shoveling pretty much every 2 hrs round the clock! Matthew took care of the driveways. He had couldn't just plow, but had to move the snow far away from the house or it would be piled sky high! Also the mounds of snow we shoveled off the deck started to pile up, so we had to have that moved! Zoie's fenced in area had to be kept up too. For a few days it was all ice. I had to take a spade and hack at it because she couldn't get a grip to pee or poop lol! She was almost spread eagle doing it!
Our roads had drifts over 4' high! No school all week so far. They have been out about 16 days! Hopefully tomorrow.
We had a heatwave today! It reached 40*. It helped the plow trucks to plow the roads, as there was ice under it.

I have a make up appointment tomorrow for my breast exam. I am so glad the roads will be clear! I think we are going to get rain. Unfortunately the temps are going to drop below freezing, so I will not be dilly dallying after my appointment in the city like I usually do :( On a good note, I have not spent much money while home bound

Just_Lin, I have gone through a lot of sunflower seed this winter. I just bought another 40lbs. I can finally walk to the feeder. Zoie and Queenie have been real troopers going out. With Zoie being so close to the ground, I have to keep her fenced in area clear of snow. Queenie just romps all over the place!

Barb, waving at you! ~~~~~~~

Dianne, I keep forgetting to ask about your trip! Where are all the pics? I wish we could post them here. Did you make any money on board? Did your bikini fit ok?
Too bad you didn't have time to see Sue. She sure sounds lonely. I have had a card and pkg to mail out, but have not been able to get to the P.O. Our mail was un-deliverable for the first time ever! Their Semi trucks were delayed due to accidents. Crazy!I will get it mailed out tomorrow.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. I just wrote a very long comment to each of you and for some reason, when I tried to publish it, it disappeared. It is 1:39 am and I am too tired to recreate it, so I will say good night. I’ll try again tomorrow. ❤️

SacBarb, If I write a long one I always
copy" I would never remember everything I wrote lol!
Well, it looks like I have to have a biopsy on my left boob next week. Have any of you had one? Kind of scary! I am trying to stay positive. My sis Lena has had one and all came back ok. There is no cancer running in our immediate family, except for my brother Joels prostrate cancer. There is a bunch on my first cousins on both sides.

I am pooped from being gone all day. I had many errands to run today and got home late afternoon. Luckily the weather was ok. Our temps are below freezing again and the winds are drifting into the roads, but I am hunkard down at home :)

Hi.....Mary..in my prayers always but extra now. Haven’t had a biopsy on breast before and totally understandable why it would be a little scary. It sounds as though all will be well with your sisters history. These dang women things we have to deal with.....
We are having nice weather still but 1-3” of snow on Monday and then more on Thursday. Did I ever mention that I’m ready to go on another cruise..,tomorrow?

Mary, my bikini fit just Right! I wore it constantly. They didn’t look upon it favorably in the dining room! We are having a nice book made up of our pictures so come visit. We have about 20 photos of us from the ship. Would you like A nice 8x10 of LOUIS and I? I have no idea what we will do with them all. We bought a package before the cruise that we’d get all of them. I never thought about what we’d do with them. I won $248 but over the days played it back. Louis only lost $33 over ten days..I wasn’t as lucky. I did too much shopping on the ship too

JL, do you have all your shopping done now? It doesn’t sound like you’re having too great of luck with the online shopping. Pain about your shoes. My favorite style have been discontinued too. My dr gave me a prescription for some cream that might help yesterday but I haven’t gotten it yet. I don’t think the weather has much to do with it but like last night it hurt terrible. I take tylenol but it doesn’t do much. How did your hair turn out? I’m trying to grow my hair a tiny bit especially on the sides if I can stand it.

Barb....that is so irritating when that happens to a post. I think Mary has the right idea in doing a copy.

Mary, I usually do copy my comments before I try to publish, but my finger got ahead of me and I hit something that made it disappear. Totally operator error, I’m sure. And I don’t remember what all I said, either.

I had to have a biopsy after a mammogram when I was in my 40s and it came back clean. I haven’t had any questionable mamos since then. I was told it may have been just the way the tech positioned my boob. I was a lot smaller back then and maybe more difficult to get a picture. Anyway that’s my story.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, you should frame the pics of you and Louis and give them to family. They would be happy to have them. It sounds like you had a really good time on your cruise. I’m glad you made a hit in your bikini. You made me LOL.

J/L, we’ve had a LOT of rain this week and last week. It rained so hard one night, it woke me up. Yesterday, Chad and I finally braved the weather to do errands. It rained intermittently until we got home and it started pouring. Watching the news a couple of hours later, they showed a woman being rescued from her car on a flooded street, which we had been driving on right before we came home. I was shocked and so glad we got home before that happened.
I am getting used to not being alone. Chad has been a big help, but I have to stop eating so much of his cooking. He cooks things I like, but am not used to eating so often, like pulled pork, ribs, and garlic bread with almost everything.
I hope hour daughter is feeling better. How is the plan for her move coming along.

Dianne, thanks for the bikini belly laugh! Totally made my day!!
Thanks for putting in a good word for me "upstairs".
Send me a pic if not too expensive.

SacBarb, I was told I would have to lay on my tummy with my boobs hanging for them to do the procedure. They also insert a tiny "flag" that stays in the boob, close to the questionable area for future info when I have another mamo.
I have to see my knee Dr the day before. I am going to ask if I am supposed to take an antibiotic before the biopsy because of my implant. My knee has still been bothering me. The only thing that seems to help is Motrin, and I am not allowed to take any before the biopsy :( Hopefully my knee Dr will have some answers for me.

Just_lin, My hair color is also turning a bit on the red side, but I don't dare ask to have it darker because it could turn black and I look horrid with black hair. My complexion is on the "olive side" especially when I lose my tan, which is now lol!
I need a vaca!! Someplace warm, but with Mathew gone all day, I don't dare leave my Zoie with Jim. He is not very patient with her and rarely "reads" her needs to do her business. Once (that I know of) while I was gone he went to bed without taking her out, and she had an accident :(. I think he is just plain ole lazy!
OK, I'm done nagging lol!
Have a great week end all!!

Hello....Well, I went for a pedicure late this afternoon just in the nick of time as the snow was starting when I was leaving. I wear flip flops so would have been cold on my tootsies! Had an earlier lunch with my niece and then she came over to get me set up on netflex. We are supposed to have 1-4” of snow tomorrow with a high of 10. I’ll bet I’ll be house bound tomorrow! Maybe I could then start putting vacation things away.

Mary, good idea about asking the knee dr those questions. I know I always have to take anti-biotic before the dentist...forever. What day do you go to the two Doctors? Think you said this week. If you went on a trip, could you put Zoie in a kennel? How is Matthew’s hand now? All healed up? Is he still liking his job? Lots of questions. Guess what? You’re so sweet that I’ll be sending you my picture since you asked.

Barb, whew...lucky you got home before that flood. How scary. I’d sure like to have someone cooking for me. Yum, garlic bread every night! I bought some frames to give some pictures to kids, etc. we were going through them last night and a large amount were missing. I knew we had them. Louis looked in his suitcase in the side pocket and there they were and the suitcase was ready to go to the shelf in the garage. We would have never found them until next trip.

JL, pretty soon you’ll be cruising. Have you started packing? Do you have all your clothes you’ll need bought now? I’ll bet you and your daughter will have a great time. Is she still considering moving? Hair all back to normal?

I just talked to my granddaughter Emilee and she has strep and Kayla has bronchitis. They are both on medication now. Kayla sounded terrible the other night when I talked to her so glad she went to dr. She works all weekend so hard to fit it in during the day. I’m glad I haven’t been around them. I have to get a tetnus shot but dr said less expensive for me to go to pharmacy for the shot. I’m kind of putting it off. As I remember..they hurt!

Well, I just asked my son if he wanted a picture of me and he said no he already has some. Kind of hurts my feelings. I can’t give these away! A couple of friends asked me for one....I think they’re being polite. Oh well....just venting about my dear son.

Dianne, love cards and pics. Glad I have my home office to put up and enjoy!
I always have a hard time putting up my Christmas cards lol. I will look at Barb's cute pop up card one more time :) I am keeping the card out Linda sent me because it shows the beach with thongs and sunglasses.Makes me smile every day.

Matthew is doing great. he is so proud of himself. He has lost 60lbs. He is shooting for 4o more. He is liking his job.
My knee apptm. is this Thurs. and the biopsy is the following day. My hair apptm is Wed. I have a busy week! Weather wise it's a good week with some wintry mix on Wed. LOL, I sound like the weather man.

Barb, Do you have any spare room in your luggage for a short little Mexican that is legal? LOL!! I know you will have a great time.

btw, I would never put Zoie in a Kennel. She has never been in one and I would not enjoy myself. Matthew takes good care of her. If we go to Vegas, we make sure it is around the week end. Matthew will have most of the summer off when the kids are out of school, so we may go then.

I sure have the itches to go somewhere!!

Mary I'm the one going to Mexico, not Barb. LOL I haven't packed yet but I'm pretty sure I won't have room for you even if you are small. Besides, stowaways are one of the things they wouldn't let me bring on the ship. LOL I'm not a fan of hot weather but it's supposed to be in the low 80's and I should be able to handle that okay. My dog will be staying with her dog walker and I do have all her stuff packed up.

Congrats to Matthew for the weight loss. I have to do what he's doing. What is he doing? LOL I'm glad to hear that his hand is doing well and that he likes his job.

Good luck with your appointments this week. The only biopsy I ever had was for a lump on my thyroid. They had me lie on my back with my head hanging off the end of the table so my throat was very taut. It wasn't the most pleasant of things to do but it wasn't the worst, either. In my case, the results were positive so now I no longer have a thyroid gland. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I'm not packed but I am pretty organized. Dog is all set to go to dog walker's house, my boarding documents and luggage tags are printed, my meds are all ready to go, makeup and hair products ready to be packed, and I do know what I'm packing and making those kinds of decisions is the most difficult part for me. I'm done with the shopping. Today I am getting my nails done and I like the color of my hair okay. Now, if I just could have lost 60 lbs in some miraculous way, I'd be a happy girl.

Don't let your feelings be hurt by your son. Is it one of those large portraits that they take on the ships? I never know what to do with those, either. They are too big. A little 5 X 7 would be more useful. I have a couple of 5 X 7's displayed of my daughter and I taken on cruises. We'll probably pose for more pics during this cruise but we may not purchase any unless they're spectacularly good. LOL Since you enjoyed your 15 day cruise, you should see about going on a Panama Canal cruise. Going through the canal is very interesting.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Maybe you can get Chad to learn some WW recipes. I make their Chicken Piccata pretty regularly. I really like it, especially with some rice pilaf and broccoli or asparagus. It is nice that he cooks, though. Does he clean up?

We are having a beautiful day today and our ground is finally getting a chance to dry out. It is chilly, though. I'll be wearing a light jacket when I board the ship on Thursday. We'll be at sea until Monday when we will dock at ports in Mexico 4 days in a row. That means we have signed up for excursions for all 4 days. That'll be a considerable amount of walking for me for 4 days in a row. I'm taking Tylenol with me.

I will be missing a good Bachelor next Monday so I'll have to get caught up on Sunday, March 3 when I get home.

Dianne said...

Hi...J/L you sound very organized. Getting meds and bathroom things ready is a good start already. What kind of excursions are you doing?
We had some good ones. Think I liked our Pearl Harbor and city tour for five hours the best. It went so fast and then that night we did a sunset dinner cruise....beautiful. We went to Ensanada on our last day. Will you be going there? We had to buy a suitcase to bring my shopping home...that thrilled Louis. We have some 5x7 pictures but mostly 8x10. Our house is going to look like the Beatty museums! We can’t afford a cruise for awhile that’s for sure. This was a special Treat to ourselves What is the chicken piccata recipe?

Mary, that’s great about all the weight matthew has lost. He should feel proud of himself. Ive lost what I gained on vacation but need to get on the bandwagon again or I’ll have no summer clothes to fit. We have been having a couple of dreary days with light snow and very cold. It’s finally supposed to be sunny tomorrow and not quite so cold.

Barb, if you get Chad cooking ww meals...send him out here. I could so do this if I had a chef.

Speaking of weight....off I go to ww tomorrow. Ugh

Dianne said...

JL, if you get busy tomorrow and don’t post....have a great fun cruise. I’ll be thinking of you.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I don't remember what we are doing on our excursions except I do recall that we will visit a tequila factory. The reason your Hawaii cruise made a stop in Ensenada is that they are required to stop at one port outside of the US if they want to have the casino open when they are out of port. That's why there is a stop in Canada on their Alaska cruises.

I have a load of laundry in the dryer and when that is done I will do my actual clothes packing. It will be easy enough as everything else is ready to go including jewelry. We have a very cold breeze here. It feels like it is coming straight down from Alaska. It makes me want to pack every jacket and sweater that I own. LOL

We will be heading to the pier at a little after noon tomorrow so you probably won't hear from me before I go.

Just_Lin said...

I'm done (over)packing. Yay!
