Dianne Bwahahaha! That was a good one! Thanks for keeping us in blogs.

Well, I'm back! 10 days went by fast. I got home yesterday morning, picked up my dog from the pet sitter's house, got all unpacked and did a couple of loads of laundry. I was really tired last night but managed to catch up on The Bachelor and also watched my recording of The Oscars. I agree that the show went along fine with no host. I will have to see if Green Book is available to stream, yet. I figure I'll also catch A Star is Born that way, too, and perhaps Black Panther. I had seen The Favourite, Bohemian Rhapsody, and BlacKKKlansman. All were excellent. I enjoyed seeing Adam Lambert and Queen perform and got a kick out Olivia Coleman's acceptance speech. They did show The Oscars on the ship but we didn't watch it and didn't hear any of the results. We were probably eating or gambling at the time. LOL

Mary I'm so glad of the good news that your biopsy was negative. Phew! What a relief, huh?

It must be so frustrating for you that Jim is back to smoking after his health scare and managing to quit after that. It's a really, really tough addiction. I wonder if the nicotine lozenges like Commit would help him at least cut back significantly on the smoking. They sure helped me quit. That little boost of nicotine got me through the quitting process. When I was a smoker, the lozenges helped me get through a cross country flight without climbing the walls of the airplane.

You would have loved the weather in Mexico. It was high 70's and low 80's. One of our excursions included tequila tasting and we tasted 7 different types from straight to flavored. we each ended up buying a set of 3 small flavored bottles; peach, almond, and coffee. They are very tasty on their own and can be used in cooking. The peach one is recommended to use as marinade on pork chops, the almond one on fish, and the coffee one in brownies. I think my daughter is trying the peach on pork chop tonight.

Barb I can hardly wait for The Bachelor tonight. We will finally find out why he jumps over that wall or gate, whatever it is.

I have errands to do today and I am suddenly not feeling so well. I don't have any of the basics right now such as bread, milk, and eggs. I also need to pick up the mail that was held at the post office while I was away. I do have canned soups and frozen foods. I guess I won't waste away if I stay home today. It was raining again this morning and doesn't look inviting out there at all.

Well, I'm sure this is TMI but I just upchucked what I had for dinner last night. That made my stomach feel better but I think it is also giving me the excuse to just stay home today. Maybe I'll even stay in my robe.

Just_Lin, welcome back! Thanks for sharing your pics! I was kind of hoping for some cabana boy pics lol! Sorry you are feeling yucky!
I will have to check out those lozenges. He needs something during this cold ass spell! He has been going out to his car to smoke! Sad eh?

I will be mia tomorrow. Jim's sons Tim & Todd will be here. They drove from Montana. I guess it was a pretty nasty drive! Tim's son will be here from Florida and another from Ohio. Jim's sis called and said her and her hubby want to stop by!! She is one of those "white glove" kind of gals. I am stressed out trying to figure out what to feed the crew! We are soooo not used to having company, well, not that much, at once, in the winter. lol! If it was warmer I could BBQ and we could sit outside on the patio. My house is small. Oye vey, this too shall pass!

J/L, sorry you have the tummy yuckies. I hope it’s gone by now. That was quite a show on Monday night, but the Women Tell All show had even more drama!

We have had so much rain and wind I haven’t even gone outside since Sunday when we had a nice lunch with Josh and Allie, her parents and sister and Josh’s Mom, Aunt &Uncle and other Grandparents. Dean and his wife said were sick so they weren’t there.

Mary, when I used to have big dinners with a lot of family, I usually made spaghetti or lasagna. I could do a lot ahead of time and the last minute stuff was easy. Usually just a big green salad and, of course, garlic bread. My other go-to was beef stew. Again I could make it early in the crockpot, even the day before, and again garlic bread. I wouldn’t want to do it now, though. I have gotten so out of the habit of cooking, I really don’t like to cook at all now. I hope you have a nice visit with everyone. Then rest when they are gone.

sacBarb said...

Waving at you, Dianne. 😸

Barb, I would a make pasta dinner, except that I know when they visit the other relatives, that is what they serve lol! I did slow cook a large roast and shredded it for hot beef sandwiches, mac n cheese, and my sister in-law brought a casserole.
I made french toast, scrambled eggs and bacon for one breakfast and today made ham, fried potatoes, eggs over easy, and blueberry muffins and fresh fruit. They were invited for dinner at one of their cousins. They had pasta lol!
They are headed up north to visit their Mom ( Jim's ex) and will be staying until Sat.
I already told Jim he was going to buy pizza for supper!
They leave Sunday morning. They have been watching the weather channel and see that they will be going through some challenging weather on their way home.
After they left this morning, Jim said, " I think I will go to the casino so I can relax!" He is lucky that I am not fond of prison or her would have been dead on the spot! He did nothing, zilch, but be an old grouch and sit in his lazy boy all week!
As a matter a fact, the only time I saw a smile on his face was when he said the word "Casino".
Zoie and I have gotten little sleep. I forgot how Jim snores non stop and talks in his sleep while jerking all night. Zoie finally hid under the bed lol! Lucky her! We get to have 2 whole nights sleep before the kids come back. YAY!!
My kitchen is clean and the towels are in the washing machine. They all took a sauna, so may towels were used. I have enjoyed them being here and will miss them, but boy, do I need some rest!
Zoie is already passed out lol! I feel a nap coming on soon!
Later.....
OK, I see I addressed this novel to Barb lol, please share Barb :)

Hi....how’s everyone doing? Hope you’re feeling better, J L. Yucky throwing up. Hope that stopped with one time! Sounds like your trip was wonderful. Are you going to show us any formal night pictures? Did you like the ship, food, service, etc? Doesn’t the time just go So Fast? Your tequila tasting sounded fun. I had no idea they made it in flavors. Does it taste as strong when flavored?

Barb, sounds like you had a big group going out to dinner. I’d be getting cabin fever if I was in for that many days. I wish I wasn’t like that all the time. The Bachelor is very talked about here as I guess the guy is from colorado. I don’t watch it but read all about it the other night so think I’ll watch it this week. I wouldn’t want to be the one he picks....if he does...this week. I have been trying to make a crockpot dinner every Sunday or Monday and then there are leftovers for Louis. He did mention he gets kind of tired of the same thing all week. I think I’ll make potato soup next week with frozen hash browns.

Mary, get some rest while the group is gone. There’s something not so bad having different bedrooms., right? I’ll put the picture in the mail by Monday. Oh boy, you sure did a lot of cooking. I’m guessing you do all the clean up too! Why was Jim so grumpy? He should be glad to have his family there BUT since he was so tired from it all ...... You are one sweet wife.

I’m having some surgery March 22. Remember that thing (intrastem) the dr put in my butt for better bladder control..well, I’m having it taken out. It just doesn’t work so I want it out. When you go through X-ray at the airport, I have to show my little card as they are really questioning what the X-ray is Showing! Picked up pain pills and nausea pills for it today. I can’t remember the recovery time but I hope it’s short.

Had lunch with Kayla on Monday and Emilee tomorrow. It’s so nice to see them as I miss seeing them all the time like when they were young. I talk to the boys on text but hard to pin them down for a visit..makes me sad.

That’s about it for me.

Barb It's raining again here. It was nice to listen to when I woke up this morning and kept me in bed for an extra half hour. My dog wasn't too thrilled about having to go out in it to do her morning business, though.

Since I've returned from the cruise, I have not been enthused about cooking so am taking shortcuts. Tonight will be either grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup or Stouffer's Lasagna and salad. Last night I ordered a small pizza and salad. On the 17th I'm definitely going to make corned beef and cabbage, though. I love it.

There's a squirrel out on the deck trying to get my attention since I haven't put out peanuts or birdseed due to the rain. I see there's a crow up high in the cypress tree waiting for the peanuts, too.

Just_Lin said...

Mary You are definitely the hostess with the mostest. You did so much work for your visiting guests. If there had been a female among them, it might have occurred to them to bring something like a giant ham to lighten your load and expense a little. Apparently, Jim did not like the intrusion on his routine.

Sorry I didn't have any cabana boy pics. My daughter and I are not ones to lie in the sun. There were some good looking lads in Puerto Vallarta bare chested and dressed in feathered costume from ancient times. They were hunks and were posing for pics with tourists for a price, of course. Our group was moving on so we didn't have time to consider it.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne There you are! I was just about to send out a search party for you.

Well, I gained about 6 lbs on my trip and have only dropped a few of it so far. Probably because I haven't done much except stay home and catch up on TV shows that I recorded. I did have one day out running a bunch of errands but have been tired and lazy, otherwise. I'm not sure why that trip wore me out so much. Probably a combination of the heat and all that walking. After all, we had to make it to every single bingo game, art auction (I bought two paintings), and meal and a lot of walking seems to be required to do any of these things. LOL We didn't buy any of the photos that were taken of us. A few of them were okay but we didn't love them so it was easy to pass up that expense. The service is always lovely on these cruises and we really had fun with our waiter and his helper. There was an older man on board with his service dog. We never had occasion to speak to him but I was wondering what kind of accommodations the ships have for dogs being on board. Hey, did you see on the news about the Norwegian cruise ship that was hit with those heavy winds? That would sure be scary!

sacBarb said...

Mary, I am happy to share your comment! 😸 You are such a good host. Just reading about the meals you served made me tired. I like having company, but I rather take them out to eat. Now that Chad is here, that will probably change. You sure have had some severe weather. I hope that changes soon and spring comes early!

sacBarb said...

J/L, we had some heavy hail on Sunday. It was so much, it looked like snow on the ground. I talked to Lynn today and she is going on a European cruise with her Aunt Ruth and her cousin. I forgot exactly where they are going, but she is excited about it. I also can’t remember when she is going. My memory is really failing me! I’m wondering if I should ask a doctor about it.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, This Bachelor season has been unlike any other. If you watched last night, you know what I mean. When Chad cooks, he usually makes enough for two or three days, but I don’t mind leftovers and he likes them, too. He likes to cook, but not every day, so this works out well.

Mary/MI said...

DianneI am glad you are going to have your thing-a-ma-jig taken out of
your booty lol! No more "butt" card at airports!!
Will the incision be very big? Ouch!

Just_lin, I can relate on not wanting to cook lol! After everyone left, I have scaled back on big meals. I did make home made tortillas yesterday, but today was hot dogs and escalloped taters. No one seemed to mind.
It is much easier feeding my birds lol!
Yes, Jim zoned out a few times. The worst was Sat. night when his beloved Spartan basketball game was on. He had a room full of company and wore his earphones! I swear! I was embarrassed!
Dianne took care of the Cabanna boy problem lol!

SacBarb, I don't watch the Bachelor, but I saw on the Today Show, that he was left alone! Weird! I may have to watch lol!!
I'm glad Chad shares in the cooking. I don't know which wears me out the most, preparing for family, the work while they are hear, or the clean up and replenishing the groceries! I am still pooped! I love them, but glad to have my house back. I know Zoie is!

Dianne said...

Well bachelor fans....I have watched the last two nights and enjoyed it a lot. I think Colton is pretty darn cute. I won’t say anymore in case you guys haven’t watched it yet. It made me get kind of interested to start watching it again.

We are getting predictions of a huge snowstorm tomorrow. The schools are already closed. The wind is maybe 60miles per hour and will create ten foot drifts....worse than we’ve had in decades! I sure hope they’re wrong. Our weather people get a little excited. They said it’s like a weatherpersons super bowl. I’m over it! It just means no ww tomorrow and home for a couple of days doing nothing! Maybe I should finish putting things away from vacation.

JL, that’s not too bad on your cruise weight gain. You’ll have it off in no time. Glad you had fun. You have good willpower to not buy any photos. We are not too great with willpower. What did you like best on the cruise? Did you have fun excursions? Hmm, I wonder where the dog goes to the bathroom? Maybe we should google that question. Yes, I heard about the Norwegian ship...very scary. It’s amazing that the wind can do that to such a large ship. I think yrip'is tiring too ..who knows why and not nail you come home.

Mary, I hope things are back to normal at your house. It sounds very tiring to me. The incision is about 3-4” long...ouch is right. We went up in the foothills for lunch to pray to meet another couple that live further up in the mountains. The sun was shining today. We’ve been having avalanches on highways up there.

Barb, we eat leftovers too. Tomorrow night we are having the Costco meatloaf and mashed potatoes. We will eat that for a couple of nights. How fun for Lynn going on that big cruise. I’d love to do a long one like she’s doing and to Europe.

Well...I’ll write when I’m snowed in tomorrow.

Dianne said...

Well....Smowed in bad. We had what was called a "Bomb Cyclone." It apparently is a weather phenomenon where the barometric pressure drops significantly in a short amount of time. That results in a much stronger storm. It was 66 yesterday and they closed school in the middle of the afternoon (for today), and they closed again for tomorrow. We haven't had 2 consecutive snow days since 2003. I’ve been today and will be tomorrow too. I got nothing done today but nap all day. Louis heated our dinner so at least we have power. Many people without today. Our lights have been flickering but that’s it, thank goodness. We’ve never experienced this before on colo. our tv just started working now as the dish was covered

Mary/MI said...

Glad you checked it, especially with FB being bonkers all day!
We are scheduled to get some nasty storms tomorrow and possibly a tornado! We are right on the edge of the warnings. Geesh! Enough already! What a crazy winter!!
I sure hope our summer is uneventful!!

Dianne said...

Thanks for emailing me. This weather is enough for me. I want to be back on my cruise. Who ever heard of hurricane winds in Denver! I too wonder what summer will bring us.

Mary/MI said...

Heading to bed. Hope everyone is safely cuddled in their bed.

We had horrible rain and wind come through here. Our lower garage flooded and came close to coming into the basement. A tornado touched down about 40 miles from us.
Zoie heard the loud thunder and ran up the stair to Matt's room. He held he until she quit shaking. I was in the basement moving things off of the floor in case the water came in. Thankfully the water receded. Our ground is still frozen so it takes a while for the water to soak in.

Pleasant dreams all and have a great week end.

sacBarb said...

Dianne and Mary, so sorry you guys are having such horrible weather. All I can say is stay home and stay safe and dry and warm. We have had a lot of rain the past two weeks and some strong winds, too. Maybe we need to start building an Ark! Today was a nice day with sunshine but still cold for Sac.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I don't have very good will power on cruises, either. Someone should put a hold on my credit cards while I'm on a cruise. I may not be much of a shopper but I spend plenty while on the ship. Speaking of shopping, I had bought a pair of capris that I only planned to wear if I got desperately hot but I never did end up taking off the tags and wearing them so I have returned them.

I hope your weather is settling down and that you get some lovely weather soon like we are now having.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Speaking of weather.....I'm so sorry you are having flooding in your garage. I hope it has stayed out of your basement. What was Jim doing while you were moving things off the floor? I think maybe Jim needs a kick in the butt.

We had some really strong winds on Tuesday night that knocked the power out for about 5 1/2 hours (from 3 to 8:30). I was in the middle of making brownies to take to my friend's house the following night when the power went out and the oven turned off. I had only gotten as far as creaming the sugar and butter and mixed in two eggs when it happened. I ended up putting it in the fridge that way until the power came back on. It was still feeling cool when I took it out of the fridge so continued on hoping that the brownies would be okay. They were. :)

Just_Lin said...

Barb So yesterday I went to my meeting with my tax guy. He's at the opposite end of the county and takes me about 40 minutes to get there. I leave my stuff with him and we talk about cruises and stuff like that for about an hour and then I head home. By the time I got home, there was a big crack in my windshield! Argh! I am not a happy camper. It starts at the edge of the windshield on the passenger side due to a teeny, tiny little chip. It must have been a really small rock that flew up and hit it. The crack is about 9 or so inches long and is low on the windshield. I guess I'll just wait and see if it gets any worse. I really don't need the expense of replacing it right now.

Dianne said...

Howdy all.....I’m home sick with bronchitis. I called dr office yesterday to get a Monday appt but they got me in yesterday am. I’m so glad. I’m on major prednisone but already feel better today. I missed our big family St Pats party yesterday and was bummed. You know I’m sick if I miss a party. Louis picked up my SIL and they went to the party. He brought me home Irish Stew (yuck) so he’s having it for dinner tonight. I guess it was the thought.

JL, I see you’re having allergy issues. Boy, that’s miserable too. I just had a tiny hole patched in my windshield and I think I have another one now! It’s easy to get them here with all the sand, etc. on the roads after a snowstorm. On a cruise it seems like things are free until you get that bill on the last day....shock! At least you got a few bucks back taking your pants back. I ordered a dressy red top for my cruise and at the last minute it said it was out of stock for the season. I had to rush and find something else. Well, it came up on my Catherine’s site last week so took a chance and ordered it and guess what I received in the mail yesterday? Irritates me but I’ll keep it in case I ever go somewhere dressy again. Hopefully I’ll get back on bandwagon and lose more weight and it will be too big someday.

We are having beautiful weather after the miserable Wednesday snow. It’s in the high 50’s and sunny today. Mary, I saw your cartoonwith the robins on fb..... oh did that hit home! Are you in nice weather now? Hope that flooding didn’t get into your house. Be careful moving things with that knee of yours. I think you overdo things...just my opinion as I worry about you. We were really lucky not to lose power with that bomb storm. Barb lost it for two days.

Barb, looks like you’ve been enjoying another show. I haven’t missed them but this year looks good for our theater. I would like to go just once in awhile like you do and not be committed to every show. I just got my Bronco ticket bill and the tickets just went up after three years. Guess they better get a better team this year. I have sold my tickets every year to the same lady. I keep waiting for Todd to take them over but he and another guy buy his dads. I’ll just wait until he’s in a position to get them.

Em is in Greece as of yesterday. She went with a friend and family. It’s such a great experience for her. The pictures today have been wonderful. It was a very very long trip over on Friday for them. I guess they slept yesterday as they were exhausted.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I'm so glad you are feeling better and that you were able to get in to see the doctor pronto.

Why am I up at this ridiculous hour, you ask? Between the nose blowing and the eyes watering, I'm having a hard time getting back to sleep. I had gone to bed with my electric blanket set on Low as I had been having chills when I went to bed. Of course I became way too hot after several hours. Once awake, I wasn't able to settle my mind don enough to drift off again. I am considering making coffee but am holding off for now in hopes that I will get tired enough to go back to sleep.

That's wonderful that Em is getting the fun experience of travekling to Greece. Maybe she will get the travel bug like you.

Dianne said...

Wow...is it time to send out my search party again? Hello hello, hello. (Hears echo)

JL, how are You Feeling? Hope you got back to sleep the other day. It makes for a very long day waking up early although, I seem to wake up between 8-9 every day anymore and I still stay up until about 1am. Yes, it’s very great that Em is getting to see so many beautiful sites. It looks so pretty there. She’ll be home on Monday. They flew to another other city a couple of days ago and flying back to Athens tonight. Are you all settled from cruise or like me and taking your time? I STILL haven’t unpacked my treasures I bought...they are sitting in three bags to go through BUT my office is half cleaned and presentable.

Barb and Mary....what are you Doing?

I’m a little stressed tonight as tomorrow is my surgery. I have to be there at 6:30am so getting up at 5. Early but I imagine I’ll be sleeping most of the day tomorrow. Dr gave me some anxiety pills but not taking as I took something for sleep and I don’t want to mix them. I’m most nervous that they find a vein first stick to put me out. She gave me pain and nausea pills for when I come home. I’m hoping at least no nausea! I guess that’s about it. I think I need to go to sleep.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I hope everything went well with your surgery today. I was thinking about you. Not much new going on at my house. Arch came over to watch some shows with Chad because he can’t watch them at his Mom’s. He said it was OK sleeping on the couch. He has no privacy, but he didn’t complain about it.
Em is so lucky to go to Greece. I would love to go there. The flight is a long one, but not as long as our 22hour flight to Australia. I loved going there, but I don’t ever want to be on a plane for that long again!

sacBarb said...

Mary, did you see the meme I posted on my page for you? I saw it and thought of you and it made me laugh.
I hope you got all the water out of your garage. What a mess that must have been.

sacBarb said...

J/L, I hope you’re feeling better. I have been sleeping a little better since I got the cbd oil balm. I’m using it on the bottom of my feet and where tha pain is on my upper arms. Last night I was able to sleep four hours before waking up. Lately I have only been sleeping 2 hours at a time and it takes about an hour to get back to sleep.

I hope that crack in your windshield isn’t obscuring your view. If it is, you can be ticketed. Your auto insurance should pay for the replacement, except for your deductible.

Dianne said...

I’m home from my surgery. I’ve slept most of the day but now I’m awake and my butt hurts. I have red marks (11) all over my arms from needles and tight tourniquets. They could not find a vein and FINALLY found one in my hand. They said it’s because I’m so fair skinned and Irish! I was afraid they would cancel the surgery. Wrapped my arms in warm towels and I guess it worked after three other attempts.

Barb, that’s not much sleep and what a pain to take an hour to get back to sleep. Have you talked to your dr about it? Yes, em is very fortunate. I’m so glad for her

Well, nurse Louis just left to get us some dinner.

Mary/MI said...

Here I am! I was sure I checked in earlier. I am losing my mind lol!
Dianne, I am sending gentle hugs to your hiney! Can you sit at all? Ouch on the vein problem! Jim hates having them hunt his too!

SacBarb, I had never seen that mem. Too funny! I love all things Doxie AND, cabana boy :) That was so cute Dianne!
Barb, Our lower garage is mostly used to store Stuff Jim hates to get rid of like old hand lawn mowers, a motorcycle he hasn't used in over 30 yrs, two riding mowers, etc. Some of my junk is in plastic containers off the floor on shelfs Matthew built. I have been cleaning them out bit by bit. I have vowed to get rid of things that are packed away. After all, what's the sense of having crap hidden away? Someone can make use of it or they can 'pack them away" LOL!

Our weather is finally shaping up! We have had no rain or snow in the last few days. It has been nice seeing the sun now and then!

Have a great week end my owlets!!!

JustLin, I have had sinus/allergy problems all winter. Not bad enough to take meds. You know how I hate doing that! I'll just keep buying KLEENEX! Once in a while I get insomnia. One good thing about being retired, you don't have to get up and out if you don't want to.
Sorry about your crack lol!! Sorry, butt, it had to be said! LOL!!

Mary/MI said...

Wow, I wonder how my post to Justlin wound up there lol!
I may be having a senior or twilight moment lol!

Dianne said...

My butt hurts! Update from Denver

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I'm sorry your butt hurts and I'm also sorry the device didn't work for you. :( At least the procedure is over and done with so you don't have to stress about it anymore. Do you have pain meds that help out at all? I hate when they can't find a good vein. They had a lot of trouble with that on me the last time I was in the hospital. I feel like they've had more trouble with that since I've gotten older. That probably doesn't make any sense as my veins wouldn't have changed positions.

I've been under the weather all week and haven't done much except sleep and binge watch tv shows. For dinners, I'm usually having a Stauffer's entree and fresh vegetables or salad to go with it. I did muster up enough energy to make a some brownies from scratch, though. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Mary I'm glad you are finally getting a break in the weather. Does it seem like the winters are getting worse or is it just our age that makes them seem worse? We had a dry but cloudy weekend here and more rain is on the way. I wish it could rain just at night so I could fall asleep to it but then be sunny during the day. That would be perfect. And no wind! The wind really worries me, especially when the ground gets so saturated with rain. I worry about losing trees and fencing.

Just my opinion but I think an old motorcycle that hasn't been taken out in 30 years could probably go bye-bye. Same with extra manual lawnmowers. You could probably get rid of stuff when Jim isn't looking and he'd never know the difference.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I didn't realize Arch had moved out or if I did, I forgot. I definitely don't remember things as well as I used to.

The windshield crack is on the passenger side, fortunately. I hate that it's there but I don't want to spend the money now to get it fixed. I seem to have a lot of extra expenses right now and I'm trying to tighten my belt (financially speaking).

Periodically, I get a gray striped kitty with a collar that creeps up my deck steps in an attempt to catch a bird eating birdseed out of my feeder. The other day it was peering around a potted plant spying on a squirrel on my deck. I'm always chasing it away. Well, the other day I saw to little kids teasing the cat out in front of my house by talking nice to it, then squirting it with a squirt gun. I went outside and yelled at the kids and discovered there were two identical gray striped cats with collars! I kind of felt like they had purposely been fooling me all this time. LOL

Just_Lin said...

BTW, why do Mary and I have the only icons visible to me on this blog?

Mary/MI said...

Justlin, lol. He would notice if he didn't see some $ for them. I had a junk man haul some stuff away last fall. I had him look at Jim;s stuff. He said Jim could get some good money for them. Take into consideration he was a man looking at "man's stuff, I doubt it lol! He has been offered $ on the mowers, but he just won't follow through. Personally, I would give them away or at least donate to someone in need of them.

Well, I bought a $10 Power ball ticket and I am still poor lol! I will by 5 more this week since the pot is over 1/2 Billion! $$$$

I found out Max was coming over last night so I took myself to the Casino.I took $200, and came home with $245. I was there about 3 hrs and treated myself to the buffet. I still can't understand why my appetite is so "off". It has been since my knee surgery.
I ate one bean & cheese taco, broccoli, chicken breast which I barely ate, and a few red potatoes. I used to dive in and try a bit of everything!
I came home to find the guys eating hamburger baskets from a local bar. Too funny! Max stayed until 11:00. Jim was a bit peeved because our Spartan Basketball tournament game was playing on tv and Max talked/mumbled through it all! At least our Sparty's won!
It's another beautiful day in Michigan :)

Just_Lin said...

Mary If you win the Power Ball you will have to take us all on a trip.

Dianne said...

Hi....here I still am with an achy bottom. It is a smidge better today. It hurts to sit, lay down, turn over....I can walk. I’ve been home all weekend recuperating. Barb brought lunch over today so that a nice break. We bought some lotto tickets and didn’t even win a dollar. Can’t wait for our trip when you win, Mary.

JL.....you won’t believe this.....I ordered my Christmas cards today. They had a good sale on for personalized ones so I picked mine out and ordered. I beat you this year. I will hold off on sending them out...lol. I told Louis if I die just to cross off my name and still send them. He thinks I’m wacky! I have too much time laying here. I do sleep after a pain pill for awhile. Have you been sick with your allergies this week or just feeling blah? I had some little chips repaired on my windshield the other day.

Mary, I’m with JL..I’d get rid of everything. Give Jim an option and then donate just to get things out of there as somebody has to do it someday. Wouldn’t it be fun if we all won the lotto and shared it? I already have a lot spent already in my head. Are you losing weight not eating? I certainly don’t have that problem of not eating.

Barb...Hello. I need a Chad to come cook for me.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I can send Chad over, but he doesn’t cook WW recipes. He was using the smoker a lot, but that has slowed down. He did make some yummy pork ribs and I ate about three from the small end. They were really good.
I hope you recover quickly from your butt surgery.

J:L, I thought I mentioned on the blog that Arch moved to his Mom’s. She meeds someone there during the day when everyone is at work, and I think she asked him to move in. He is sleeping on the couch, so he has no privacy, but I guess he’s OK with that. He hasn’t complained to Chad about it. So we only have four cats now. They still don’t like each other, but they all keep their distance for the most part. My cats spend a lot of time in my room, and Chad’s cats stay mostly in the family room. Occasionally there is a dust up between one of my cats and one of Chads.

If I win the huge lotto, you bet we would all be going somewhere lol!! It is fun to dream. I think winning that much money could be scary! I would have relatives coming out of the wood work and people trying to sue me for every possible thing!
annnnnd.. too many Cabana boys could be detrimental too my health lol!!

Zoie gets her grooming done today. I have let her hair grow way too long. It was a cold winter! I will going to my "Silver Sneakers" place while she is there. I love that I can exercise there for free. No one bothers you and most are my age or older excluding the peeps that come in for after surgery therapy.

My sinuses have been terrible! Seems like non-stop nasal drips and boxes of KLEENEX!
I'm not sure what is causing them to be so bad this winter!
I went to our local "Farm & Family" store to pick up bird feed and Zoie's food. I knew my allergies would flare up just being near all that feed! Of course I had to look at all the new cute baby chicks that had just come in! "AAA-CHOOOO!!

Have a great day all!
Smooches to Dianne's hiney :)

Mary It seems like allergies have been extra bad this year. I just bought two more boxes of tissues yesterday. It is raining again today so that keeps the pollen down where it can't cause me trouble. I still have sinus and chest congestion, though, as an aftermath. When I was a kid growing up in southern California, I would get hay fever so bad that I could barely see because of how much my eyes were watering. There were orange groves in the area so that surely didn't help. It was great when Contac came out as that provided some relief. I got out of some PE activities because my hay fever was so bad.

Just_Lin said...

Barb You may very well have mentioned about Arch moving out and it just didn't register in my tiny brain. My memory isn't as good as it once was. Do he and Chad plan on finding a place together again or is this living arrangement permanent?

Ever since I returned from Mexico I've been lazier about cooking. I picked up a roasted chicken from Safeway yesterday. I really only like the white meat so the dog gets the dark meat shredded on top of her regular food. Last night I also made Stove Top Stuffing, some gravy from dry mix, and just had cranberry sauce and olives with it. Kind of a poor man's Thanksgiving dinner. Anyway, it sure couldn't be easier and tonight I will have leftovers. One of these days I will have to kick myself in the butt and get back on the WW program.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne How are you feeling today? I hope your butt is a lot better and you can rest more comfortably.

OMG at you getting your Christmas cards! Now don't wait until the last minute to address them. I haven't even thought about cards yet but I have purchased my first stocking stuffer.

The crack in my windshield is really bugging me because it is ugly but I don't want to spend the money to fix it right now. Apparently it's not dangerous but it really annoys me as it makes my car look older. Come to think of it, I'm annoyed that I look older, too. LOL

Mary/MI said...

Just_lin, I live around hay and corn fields. Lots of ragweed around here too.
My neighbors have a tree farm and just sprayed yesterday. We can't take the dogs walking until the first rain after the spraying which should be tomorrow. I don't trust that the chemicals don't get into our well water, so I buy bottled water to drink. When it rains really hard, the water from their property runs down hill to the back of our property and to the little creek that feeds into the Grand river. Not much we can do about it.
Have you guys ever watch the show "BOTCHED?".I'm watching it now. It amazes me how many bad plastic surgeons there are out there! These Drs try to fix their messes.

Got go watch....

Hi.....Well, my bottom is somewhat better. I’m out and about but those bumps on the road hurt! Thanks all for the butt thoughts! I think things will be better when I get stitches out Friday. It was 78 here today and I’m wearing long sleeves to hide all my red marks and bruises on my arms....makes it warm. I had my air on in the car. I went to dinner with tam and the girls last night. Em brought us little greece gifts and told us all about her trip. She really enjoyed herself.

Barb, that’s a lot of cats still in your house. Of course, this is coming from a person that is allergic and scared of cats! Hmm, I think I’d still like to borrow Chad. I’ll “force” myself to eat non-ww meals! I gained today so..... Did I or Kathy tell you we are going to spend a day with them in May? I’m looking forward to see them again.

JL, I need to eat with you as I only really like the dark meat on chicken so your dog and I would be fighting over doing dinner! I think your meal sounds good. I’ve been trying to do crockpot every week but not this week. Tammy’s co-worker made a big pot of chicken and rice for us. It was so nice of her. I hope I won’t wait until last minute on the cards. Last year I did them in Branson and mailed them from there. We are planning on being in Houston this thanksgiving so I’ll pronably do them earlier and mail them from there.

Mary, well I got one number tonight and it wasn’t even a powerball one! I’ve never heard of that program. Don’t forget country award show on Sunday, April 7th. It was just announced Garth is doing a concert here in our Bronco stadium in June. That’s a hard venue for me to go to but I’m trying to talk Tammy into it and not getting very far. The tickets are all $95 tickets including all the services charges included. That’s a decent price. I’ve even offered to buy her ticket.

Tomorrow I have lunch with my SIL and her friend that I know. I don’t quite know how I ended up at this lunch. It oh well.
It’s Spring break at school for my SIL and I haven’t seen her for awhile.

That’s it....

Well, I guess I’ll post again. It’s been five days since anyone has posted. How was everyone’s weekend? Anyone do anything Fun? I was busy but not fun. Barb came over and helped me and dusted my curio cabinet items. I worked on my office and also go all my tax items ready for our Friday appt. it was a very accomplished day. On Sunday I had put together a mini reunion of my co-workers at Chase for a sunday brunch. It was a lot of fun. That’s about my update. Weather is nice, got car all washed, had lunch with Tammy and did a few errands. No movies this week. I sure appreciated Barb’s help Saturday.

Uh oh...just watching the news and another Viking cruise ship hit a cargo ship. No injuries and no water on the ship. Barb, I’m sure this is convincing you not to cruise!

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Thanks for the nudge. I have not been doing anything fun lately so don't know what to write about.

I didn't hear about the latest mishap with Viking Cruises. Until recently, I've only known them to be doing river cruises. Didn't they just start doing ocean cruises relatively recently? Maybe they should stick to rivers.

That was nice of Barb to come over and help you dust. My daughter was over on Saturday and helped me put up the two paintings I bought while on the last cruise. When we moved some things around, it was obvious that I needed to dust. Oops!

Just_Lin said...

Mary I would be concerned about your well water, too. In the places where we went in Mexico last month, we saw that homes had water tanks on their roofs. That water was not for drinking. The water that comes out of their faucets is only for bathing and other things. They drink bottled water but I think the tap water is okay to drink if it is boiled first.

Another thing about Mexico....Wherever we used a toilet, it was not allowed to flush toilet paper. There was always a wastebasket by the toilet to put toilet paper in. This wasn't so bad when we're just talking about urination but would be really unpleasant if someone had to poop. Thankfully, I never came across that situation.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Where are you? Did Dianne give you a nudge, too?

My daughter has been coming down on Saturdays to work on her old bedroom and getting it all spiffed up to be her room for visiting after she moves to Oregon. She hopes to move sometime during the summer and I will really be unhappy about it. Her room is now the nicest room in the house. She did say it could be a guest room for my friends but not her brother (ha!) as she considers him to be a slob. She's worked hard on that room. It's freshly painted and all the furniture is brand new. I helped her put the bed together but she pretty much put together an end table and desk by herself. She had her friend's husband come and install new window blinds as it required drilling holes and we didn't have a drill for that.

Well crap. I won’t write on my tablet in here again! I wrote a long ass blog and lost it!!
I will re write later on my pc,,,,,, *grumble grumble*

Mary/MI said...

Dam I wish I could remember what I wrote!
I'm not even sure what I did wrong. I was typing away and boom it disappeared! I can usually fix on my pc, but not on tablet.
I do remember saying I was going to take a "Mary day" off and go the Casino tomorrow lol!
Today I took Zoie to the vet for her check up and shots We both need to go on a diet lol!
I cleaned out my side of the garage, and cleaned around Jim's chair while he was gone to the Casino. I found stuff in his big side table that were dated way back in 2014. Mostly stuff sent from the Casinos, bank statements, stock market stuff et. and taking up most of the space were 8 old eye glasses in cases. Those will be going to the donation pile!
He laughed when I should him all the junk and said, " I guess I'm a hoarder" lol!
At least he doesn't argue when I get rid of stuff.
I even found a copy of his first and only will, leaving everything to his sons!
If he dies I may have to move in to Just_lin's pretty room! lol! He keeps putting off updating it.

Well, this is most of what I remember typing earlier. I did write something to you gals, but will come back tomorrow. I may remember more lol!
I am going to copy and paste this in case I mess up again....nite!!

Dianne said...

Glad you both got my little nudge..Barb must be asleep!

JL, it will make you miss your daughter when she moves. I forget why she’s moving. Viking is still doing River cruises. Scary but I’d still go. My cousins in Texas just signed up for a six day cruise out of Galveston the first of November to Cozumel and a couple of other places for $300 and that includes gratuities. I really want to go with them but unless we receive tons forva tax refund, were not going. I don’t think that’s going to happen. We are meeting them in Branson for a few days mid-November and then spending thanksgiving in Houston. I say we just go for the month...Louis says let’s not! Dang it. I would like to not use a toilet for the paper like you had to in Mexico. I think I would have tried to not go to the pot while I was there. Your daughters room sounds really nice. Kind of fun that she’s fixing it all up. She must be planning on visiting a lot. Is she able to transfer with her job to Oregon?

Mary, test test! I use my tablet for everything. I don’t even have a computer anymore. I haven’t for a long time. We get our taxes done Friday and I’m not looking forward to it at all. We are meeting some friends afterwards for dinner early. Today was not a good day at WW again! Grr. It’s those darn Easter eggs. Boy, I’d get on Jim to change that will ASAP. How did you do on your “Mary” day? Did you win anything at the casino? Any future plans of a vegas trip?

Tammy is going to try and get Garth Brroks tickets for us Friday. Tonight it was announced that Celine will be here in March. I’m trying to talk her into going with me. Louis thinks it’s too expensive to go. He’d probably fall asleep anyway.

Barb..MISSING YOU

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, that will was made before we were married. Not sure how binding it would be as he has accumulated a lot since. He is a terrible procrastinator!

Last night I heard a "k-thud" and a yell! Jim had fallen out of bed again! I don't know how he does it! He has the whole Queen bed to himself! I sleep with Zoie in a twin and have never fallen off! I know he has nightmares and restless leg/body issues. He laid on the floor grumbling and blaming it on the bed, then on the sheets lol. You should see his bed when he gets up, it looks like a war zone! I finally quit making it except when I change the bedding.
His Dr has started him on B12 shots because he has been so tired & in pain. He complains of hurting all over.
He will be 75 in July. I told him he is just getting old lol! I am so mean to him!

It's been a pretty boring day so far. I did my usual exercises, prepared the stuff to recycle, made breakfast, walked Zoie, dusting and doing laundry.

I didn't win at the Casino, but I didn't lose my shirt lol! I did enjoy being out of the hose for a while. The gaming table I was on had only woman and I am pretty sure I was the youngest lol! There a lot of silver haired ladies in there spending their kids inheritance lol!! Good for them!!

Well, I'm heading to FB .....later

Dianne said...

Hi...Picture is in the mail in am, Mary. I have it all ready....finally. Oh, I hope Jim is ok. I fell out of bed once and I’m in a Queen too. I fell between bed and nightstand. I think,I just got too close to the edge and I wasn’t even sleeping ! You know I get a B-12 shot once a month. I don’t feel like it gives me much energy. I’m going to dr tomorrow as I hurt a lot too. My right arm from shoulder to elbow and both shoulders ache bad. Louis told dr the other day and she told him to tell me to get in there. I guess I’m getting old too. I know i am. I thought you just played slots. I didn’t know you were so experienced at tables too. I’ve only done slots.

Today I drove up to Greeley, about two hours away to meet my aunt and uncle for lunch. I was so tired coming home that I finally called my cousin in Texas and she talked me home. They are going on a Mexico cruise out of galvastan in nov and I want to go too. It’s really cheap but Louis is not going for it. I just peeked at it tonight and it looks booked anyway now. I guess a lot depends on tax time tomorrow.

Dianne, Yay, pic in mail :)
Jim is very frustrated feeling so achy and tired all the time! He seems to be worse in the winter. I told him he should have bought a winter home somewhere warm a long time ago.
Our Michigan State team lost tonight :(
I did a bunch of raking yesterday an am a bit sore. This last fall was the first time I have not raked under the red Maple tree close to the house. I was sure they would scatter with the wind lol, no luck! All I got was a bunch of soggy nasty leaves on the ground. I raked them in a pile and Jim put them in his tractor's bucket and put them in the fire pit and burned them. Yay Jim!
He is going to my sister-in-laws funeral with a friend. It's about an 8 hr drive to the Upper Peninsula. Now that Matthew is working I have to take care of the dogs. I don't think I my knee would do well in the car anyway.
Dianne. I so want to go on a cruise! Maybe next spring. I really don't want to go during hurricane season!!

sacBarb said...

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been MIA. I didn’t realize it has been so long.

J/L, I am sick of the rain. It makes my whole body ache. We had a nice day today, but it’s supposed to start again Monday. I’ve been using the CBD balm on my upper arms and shoulders and also on the bottom of my feet. It has helped a little and I am sleeping about 4-5 hours at a time now.
Don’t you have glass coverage on your car? Maybe it won’t cost anything to have the window fixed.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I hope your booty feels better. I am having my taxes done on Tuesday. Not looking forward to it. You are right about that Viking story cementing my resolve not to go on a cruise! I read your post about Bruce taking a break from FB. Is he doing OK?

sacBarb said...

Mary, you really should get Jim to do a will, even though you probably have most of your stuff in both your names. I am so sorry to hear of your SIL’s passing.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I enjoy listening to the rain at night but it really has been too much of a good thing lately. At least we haven't had too much in the way of heavy winds which always makes me nervous. Hopefully, this wet winter will help us avoid another horrendous fire season.

My windshield is getting repaired on Wednesday and I do have glass coverage with a $100 deductible. It sure beats paying for the entire thing.

I'm so sorry that you are hurting and not sleeping well. I hope when all this dampness goes away that you will start to feel much better.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne How's your butt?

I had a not-so-fun day yesterday. The night before last my computer failed me. At first I thought it was the monitor, then I thought it was the video card, then I was thinking it was the hard drive. I was Googling the symptoms and trying to figure out how much hurt I was going to be in for, financially. This just couldn't have come at a worse time. Anyway, Yesterday I unhooked everything from my PC and took it in to have a tech guy look at it. He hooked it up to a monitor and it worked perfectly. Long story short, I came home with a new monitor and got everything all hooked up again. Phew! Everything working great now but I hate having to deal with technical things like this. What a pain in the ass! It gave me a headache.

Just_Lin said...

Mary I'm so sorry about your sister-in-law. Please give Jim my condolences. I'm glad Jim has a friend to go with him to the funeral. It would be a long drive for you to not be able to stretch out your legs. How is that knee coming along, anyway?

Whenever I read your posts, I realize how darn lazy I am. It seems like you are always performing some kind of labor outside or inside. You work so much that you should never have to go on a diet. If my hip doesn't act up too bad today, I'm going to at least try to take my dog for a walk today. Her dog walker came for her on Friday and it was raining lightly. By the time my dog went out the door and got to the sidewalk to get in her car, the skies opened up and there was a heavy downpour. My dog turned around, came back into the house and refused to go out again, missing her walk. It was too bad, too, because after about 15 minutes it returned to just being a light shower. My dog has those cropped ears and I'm sure it doesn't feel good to have a bunch of rain going down into them.

sacBarb said...

J/L, Too bad your monitor died, but at least that’s much less expensive than a new computer. Did you get a fancy dancy smart screen monitor? My neighbor just got a huge new monitor that does everything but cook dinner.

I think it was you that asked about Chad and Arch getting an apartment together. That is not the plan. Chad moved back here specifically to help me with things I can’t do anymore. He has done a lot of yard stuff. The drought and limited watering allowed had my lawn looking pretty bad. He has worked on it, killing weeds and reseeding, and it’s looking good now. Even my gardener complemented him on how it has come back. He also helps a lot around the house with vacuuming and other things that have become really difficult for me. I am really grateful for the help. He is going to get a job. He worked for the state before he moved to WA and he is applying for reinstatement to several agencies. Hopefully he will get hired soon. He had been saving for a down payment on a house for quite a while and was able to save a substantial sum, which has been sustaining him so far. He is paying for most of the groceries and gas for the car. So far it’s working well.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, How exciting that you are going to see Kathy and Randy. Are you driving through Phoenix or is it a lay over at the airport?

Dianne said...

Hi all....my bottom is much better...thanks for asking. I’m back on dang prednisone again for all these aches and pains. Not really helping though. Barb and I went to movie yesterday to see Best of Enemies...true story and very good. embarrassing moment...I dozed off and started to snore. Barb thought I was choking. I’ve never done that at a movie before and I liked movie! We went for Chinese afterwards.

Barb, so glad to see you. I was missing you. We are driving to Phoenix to see my favorite musical group from Branson, The Texas Tenors. We are going a day early so we can spend the afternoon with them. I’m looking forward to seeing them again. We will only be there for three days. It sounds as though Chad is really a lot of help for you. I think that’s really nice for both of you. How are things going between your sons? I have to see my DIL Thursday for my grandsons confirmation. I haven’t seen her since Christmas or talked to her since New Years when she told me how terrible I am....can’t wait for Thursday...NOT ! I kind of thought you weren’t thinking about a cruise lately. Lol

JL, we have been having temps in the 70’s. ..but snow predicted for mid-week! . Louis got a crack in his windshield today too. I hope our deductible isn’t more than $100. Tonight are the country music awards. I like that show. We have planned a short cruise with my Texas family for the first of November. We weren’t going to go but after much thought and discussion and not owing taxes this year....we are going. It’s a Mexico one for five days on RC out of Galveston. We will probably drive down there. We are meeting them in Branson mid November for four days and decided today to go for two days to Hot Springs, Arkansas. We will drive to Houston from there and spend thanksgiving. We’re home from May until November and I had again to do some big talking along with help from my cousin Judy. The cruise will be with my two cousins and uncle so should be fun. I will have to back off on my shopping this time around. Heck, I still haven’t unpacked my goodies from our Hawaii cruise. I am also glad you only needed a monitor and not a computer. Louis was at Apple today with his computer. He has to go back on Wednesday.

Mary, you are a little worker. I only wished I had half your energy. I agree that eight hours in a car is hard. We have to stop every few hours for me just to stretch on road trips. Very sorry about your sister in law . Glad Jim has a friend to go...is it Max? . Hope you’re watching show tonight. Tammy got us tickets Friday for Garth in June. My friend pat is treating me to a Celine concert here in March for my birthday. Tickets go on sale Tuesday. I even got Tammy to go soon to see Michael Blube and barb, Tammy and I are going to see Carrie in the fall. I don’t usually go to that many shows because not only cost but we have to get handicap seats for me. Garth will be at the Bronco stadium so we will see how that works out.

I might let Kayla do some highlites on me as a model this week. I’m a little nervous about it plus I haven’t had highlites. We shall see.. .

I cooked tacos and about to clean the kitchen.
Yesterday I got in over 10,000 steps!I am near 8,000 tonight. No wonder I am pooped!
I get a break tomorrow. I am meeting my old work buddies at the red Lobster for lunch.
I see by the weather report that I need to put my rake away and return the snow shovel to the patio! Oye vey!!
I think I will grace Jim's lazy boy chair before hitting the kitchen lol!
Later.....

Mary...I’m here. Good job on your steps. You’re really doing good with that knee. Have fun at lunch tomorrow. I’ve been busy making hotel reservations for a November trip. It’s a job planning a vacation especially when coordinating with other people (my cousins) . We’re trying to get rooms, etc., by each other. I’m not going to WW tomorrow as my friend can’t go and I’m not driving an hour just to go unless I just go weigh in over here. I’m not too thrilled to do it on prednisone anyway plus they’re saying big snow starting in the afternoon. I hope it’s done and roads are okay Thursday to drive out there for my grandsons confirmation.

I met my Childhood friend for a long lunch today. She lives about two hours from where we meet and I’m an hour so we only get to see each other every couple of months.

It’s snowing like crazy....again. Governor just called out national guard to help. I think I need to move to Hawaii!

Dianne! wtf!! Don't send that stuff here! We are only expecting a dusting. We'll see how that goes!
You lucky dog, going on another cruise! Your picture looks cute on my wall :) Only thing missing is me lol!

Just_lin, I am not all that ambitious lol! I just can't sit all day like Jim. I need to move. I recently saw on a PBS station that a certain country has a long "livers". I wish I could remember where it was. Anyway they averaged 17,000 steps a day! Not by jogging or exercising, but by being on the move all day. Slow and not in any rush, just MOVING!
I try not to sit more than 20 minutes at a time. As simple as walking in the hallway or patio makes a difference. Whenever I try to put something off for later, I scold myself and say, "get up you fool" lol!

Barb, I wonder if that CBD balm would work for Jim. Do you need a prescription? Sometimes he aches so much, that I can tell he gets depressed over it.

Our lunch was very interesting. We had a large group, so I tried to take that into consideration. I now realize my patience is way thinner than I thought lol!
The waitresses took a long time before taking our orders. Took forever to bring our food ( I was last) They took a long time getting our bills! A long wait giving back change, and guess who had to finally go get her own bill? We had no complaints on the food, although guess who got home and realized she didn't get her "chips with her fish & chips? I may have been too stuffed from the nice rolls and salad to miss them lol!
Oh well, we all had a nice visit.

sacBarb said...

Mary, pot is legal in CA so I didn’t need a RX, plus I have my own supplier. I don’t know what the law is in MI. It doesn’t completely take the pain away, but I notice it a lot more when I forget to use it. Last night, I slept for five hours straight. The longest I’ve slept that long in years. Do you have Caryn Franson as a friend on FB? She was on the Ross Blog. Anyway, she lives in OK and she sells CBD oil products. She may be able to tell you more about it. I got some liquid form from her and they mailed it to me. They may have a cream or some kind of topical. The lady I get mine from makes it herself and it’s cheaper for me, plus she delivers it to my house.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, LOL @ forgetting about your chips. Think of all the calories that saved! I have started back to Jenny Craig so I won’t eat so much of Chad’s cooking. He made ribs on Saturday and I ate two from the small side. He made two racks and ate them for the next three days. I ate Jenny food. I know if I get some weight off, I will feel better. It’s just sticking to it that’s tough!

sacBarb said...

J/L, we have had some nice weather and some rainy and windy days. One day it’s 70+ and the next it’s 40+.

My allergies are in high gear. I had an optometrist appointment yesterday and my cataracts are growing slowly. He said, at this point, I can have them removed or wait until they bother me more. I guess I’ll wait a while. He recommended I use eye drops for my dry eyes which get worse when it’s windy.

Dianne said...

Barb....that was Mary that forgot her chips. She was at her retired luncheon. Is that jenny food good? Is it Expensive? Do you gomthere or just purchase the food or what..like I mean do you check in with them?

Mary, it’s still snowing! I’ll try and send it a different direction. I see my picture on your wall. I think we were a little crooked. I wonder if that stuff would help with pain. I’m still, aching.

Tomorrow is big day to see my DIL
..can’t wait.... not!

Just_Lin said...

Mary LOL @ you forgetting about the chips in your fish and chips lunch. Now that would not have something I would do. I would have noticed it immediately. Then again, I am food motivated just like my dog. LOL Last weekend I made an 8 X 8 pan of brownies and they were gone in 48 hours. And I wonder why I am not losing weight. I need to move more and eat less....very simple. I did walk the dog the other day but I kind of have to talk myself into it because I know my hip is going to start hurting after a minute or so and then it's kind of a grin and bear it situation. If I'm lucky, it ends of going semi-numb and then it is easier.

Just_Lin said...

SacBarb I'm glad Chad is being such a good help to you around the house. I notice on the back side of my garage that there is a small plant growing in the rain gutter. I will have to get a handyman to climb up there and clean my gutters. It's not a high priority at the moment but I will need to deal with it at some point.

I got my windshield replaced yesterday and that was an interesting process. Right now I still have blue tape on the upper corners of it which the guy said needs to stay on for 24 hrs even though I could drive the car after 1 hour. That means I can't remove it until sometime between 4 and 5 today. It wasn't until the process was started that I remembered that I have a FasTrak device stuck to the inside of the windshield. I went out to ask the guy about it but he had already removed it and placed it on my new windshield. I guess they do that a lot in the Bay Area.

We had some lovely weather for a couple of days but today is overcast and windy. Brrrr.

Dianne I will be very interested in seeing how it goes today with the DIL. I imagine you will both pretend it never happened. She may very well have moved on and forgot all about it even though the hurt remains with you. I hope the day goes well for your sake.

It's still snowing? Isn't it supposed to be spring by now?

That will be fun to go see Garth. I think he is probably the only country singer that I might actually enjoy seeing in concert. After all, I also have friends in low places. LOL

I unpacked from my trip very quickly except for jewelry. That stuff still isn't put away properly but is sitting on my dresser. I'm not sure what my problem is or why I haven't gotten around to it.

I was supposed to go to the movies with my friend tonight to see "The Best of Enemies" which looks interesting to both of us. However, she just called and has a bad cold. She sounds very congested. I don't want to catch it but am more concerned about her husband who has gone through a course of chemo recently and his immune system is compromised. I'm going to the grocery store later and that will be my big outing for the day. I've offered to pick stuff up for her if she finds that she needs anything. I thought I was going out to dinner with her so now I am faced with the "what's for dinner" question. Last night I just ordered a small pizza.

Dianne, sorry I got confused about the chips. My brain gets foggy sometimes. I go to Jenny’s and weigh in and talk to the consultant for about ten minutes and order my food. Then she packs it up and I go home. Some is frozen. Most of it is OK. There isn’t anything that I really don’t like, but some are better than others. If I find that I really don’t like something, I can just exchange it for a comparable item. Otherwise, I just go with their planned menus. It costs me about $110-$120 per week, but I get a 20% discount because I signed up a few years ago. It costs me $49 per year to keep my membership and discount. Otherwise, I would have to start over and I don’t know how much that would be. So even though I didn’t go for a full year, I maintained my status with them. The main reason I go is because portion control is so easy with their food. I just have to add a salad or another veggie. They have good snacks, like cheesy chips, cheese curls, and chocolate cheesecake.

J/L, I’m glad your windshield is fixed. I hope it didn’t cost you too much. I bought a new couch and love seat this week. They are delivering it on Saturday. I’m getting rid of the sleeper sofa and the two brown recliners that were against the wall in the family room. The back of the sofa broke and made sitting on it uncomfortable. Chad looked online for deals and he found a great deal. Both pieces were $700, almost half off of the original price.

sacBarb said...

Dianne2, I meant to tell you that I saw Garth in the late 90’s when my Uncle Mike and Jim were here. They wanted to see him, so they bought the tickets. Garth was still married to his first wife, but near the end of the concert he announced a ‘surprise’ guest and it was Trisha Yearwood. We all wondered if something was going on between them and it wasn’t long after that, he announced he was getting a divorce. He really puts on a good show.

J/L2, LOL @ your friend in low places.

Hi...I’ve been a cleaning fool today. Barb came over and did my China cabinet and I packed for weekend and then spent more time in office. I cleaned my desk drawer and then a other energy spurt a did my two drawer file cabinet tonight. I fit in a lunch with barb too. I never have to buy scotch tape again..I’ve found so many rolls and pens too.

We’re going to Estes Park for a couple of days tomorrow and coming home Tuesday. Kids gave us gift certificate for our favorite cabins. We are meeting my old boss and wife for dinner tomorrow night. We will go into the park and maybe a store or two.

Barb, Jenny Craig sounds good especially if you like the food. It sounds like good snacks too. We saw Garth once a few years ago and really enjoyed him. Exciting to be getting new furniture. We e only had to replace our recliners since we moved here. Newish he’d have her when we see him.

JL, we just our windshield replaced this week and didn’t cost anything and they came to our house too. I saw that movie and thought it was very good. Maybe you’ll get to go this week. I hope your friends are better. Well, Thursday night was the DIL and it was extremely awkward. She didn’t hug us and when Louis hugged her she kept her arms at her side. I didn’t make the effort. We were at church for three hours. She talked once to us. Afterwards we went to a pizza place with her family. She did get pictures of the boys with us. I had a hard time watching her on her knees in church and being so mean of a person. No hugs good bye either. I didn’t volunteer conversation but I wasn’t around her that often. I was glad when it was time to leave. Things will never be the same. I thought I had moved on but it made me sad again. Oh well.

Hi Mary.

Hi there! What a cold miserable day! We have had rain, sleet, snow and very windy!
The snow was so wet and slushy, that I had a hard time shoveling it. Jim had already shoveled earlier.
I had been feeling great the last week because I was able to take long walks. I haven't been able to walk that far since way before my surgery.
I have a hair appt tomorrow so I hope the slush is gone. I go to my eye specialist Tues. our UAW Easter dinner Wed.
I'm supposed to go to specialist on Thurs. to see if I should have a gum patched on my lower tooth. It has been a bit bare for a long time. Not sure I want to have it done at this late date in my life lol! On the other hand I don't want to weaken the tooth since it is in the front. I would look a bit "hill-billy-ish!

Barb How fun to get new furniture and at such a deal, too! Without the sleeper sofa, does that mean those relatives that would drop in at the last minute to use your house as a pit stop will no longer be able to do so? :)

The windshield cost me $100 which was my deductible. It was a mobile service that the insurance company sent out and it was all done relatively quickly. It has a lifetime guarantee against leaks so that's good. I suppose that's standard.

Good for you for getting serious about your diet again. I need to do that for sure. My birthday is coming up soon so my intention is to buckle down after that.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I am feeling very upset with your DIL for treating you and Louis so badly. WTH? All you did was ask for a schedule for the kids' games which certainly doesn't seem out of line to me. Does Tammy get along with her brother and can she ask him WTH is going on with that? I hope the rest of her family treated her well.

Your get away to Estes Park sounds like fun. I've been trying to eat at home more often these days. I feel like I've been spending a lot of money eating out so much, especially breakfast/lunch. It's easy to do as I get lazy about cooking sometimes.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Oh, I hate dental stuff! I don't think I've ever heard of a gum patch. Does that mean you have a receding gum line around that tooth?

It's almost Easter and you are making snowmen! There's something wrong about that. Is it normal to still have snow at this date? I guess it would make it easy to hide Easter eggs. LOL Speaking of Easter, are you planning on cooking a big spread for the holiday? My daughter will be coming down and we will have a ham dinner. I'm going to make the dinner as uncomplicated as possible. The following morning she will be leaving on a work trip and then going to Eugene to look at possible house rentals so I will be taking care of her two dogs here.

Mary/MI said...

Just_Lin, My gum is receding . It is one of my front teeth. It doesn't bother me, but wonder if it will eventually make my tooth lose.
So far no big meal is planned. I was going to look for a turkey breast today and totally forgot!. I will get one tomorrow after my eye exam. We have been going to my sister's or Raquel's, but the baby has been so sick this year that I am sure all they want is rest and sleep lol! Myla had adenoids out and ear tubes in. Now having a reaction to the antibiotics. Poor baby!

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, I need a cleaning lady! My house needs a good deep cleaning! I will probably start it myself next week. Times like this I wish I had daughters lol!
Your mini trips sounds like fun. Do you have bags pre-packed and ready on a shelf lol!
You should, you travel so much!

Mary/MI said...

Barb, I hate the word "Diet"! Let's just call it " cutting back" LOL! I really don't eat that much, but I do love my sweets!!

Isn't it sad about the Notre Dame Cathedral? I am so glad I was able to see it in all it's glory :(

Dianne said...

Hi.....we’re still in Estes until tomorrow. We’ve seen so many deer and elk just walking by our cabin and around town..baby ones too. You have to be careful driving. Had a nice Mexican dinner last night with my friend and wife that live up here. Louis and I sat down this afternoon and went over these smaller trips we have planned and to be sure I have reservations made ahead of time. They’re not until end of October and November. We go to Phoenix in a month for four days. It was good to sit down together and plan it.

Tomorrow louis is trading his lease car in for a Toyota. It will lower the payment and that’s what I’m trying to do with our budget.

JL, we are maybe having snow on Wednesday. We get April snowstorms and really don’t like it when it’s spring. Sounds like you will have a nice Easter with your daughter. My DIL doesn’t care for Todd’s family. We don’t really know why and tam and I can’t ask Todd as everything gets back to her and then she can turn things around. I had mentioned about their older son getting his own place on Christmas and that’s what this blew into...she said I indicated they should “throw him out”. Now why would I ever say or think that but that’s just her. It’s a very upsetting situation. Tammy does get along with her brother but there’s no discussing any of this about her. My daughter has never been fond of her Thank you for your caring.

Mary, I’m sorry the baby has been sick so much this year. Hopefully those tubes will help. My daughter does not clean for me so you don’t need to be wishing or missing that situation. Lol. What did you decide about your dental? You know how I feel about dental things! You make me laugh..no pre-packed bags. I just go through packing stress each time. It’s so sad about France. I wish I could have seen it before as it looks beautiful. Glad you were able to make that trip

Barb, are you enjoying your new furniture?

sacBarb said...

J/L, The new couch and Loveseat was delivered on Saturday. I called a bunch of donation places and the only one that would come and pick up the couch and recliners is Salvation Army. However they are all booked until Mid May. I really don’t have room to keep it until then and I don’t want to leave it in the carport so Arch and Chad hauled them out to the curb in front of the house with signs that said FREE. He also put the description and our address in the Neighborhood web site. They were in fair shape and the couch could be easily fixed but I was tired of it. The mattress is still in the original factory plastic so it is clean. They have soccer games all day Saturday at the park at the end of our street and I was sure someone would want them, but NO! So when the guys delivered the new ones at 5:00, Chad gave them $50 bucks to take the old ones away. As to your question, yes there is no sleeper sofa for guests, but since Arch moved to his Mom’s, I still have the bed in the middle bedroom where Lynn slept.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I traveled quite a bit when I was working and I kept a duplicate of all my toiletries because the first couple of times I forgot something and I had to go buy it. Once it was my curling iron. So since I had an extra, I decided I would just keep it packed with makeup, deodorant, toothbrush/paste, etc. That made the packing less stressful.
I was shocked when they announced breaking news about Notre Dame. I almost cried. Chad went to Paris in the mid 90’s and that was the first thing he wanted to see. He said he went several times. I heard tonight that they were able to save some of the artifacts.

sacBarb said...

Mary, I can’t imagine living anywhere that has snow and such cold weather. I would never be able to shovel snow or even walk in it. I, too, am so sorry the baby has been so sick. My youngest had to have tubes in his ears and I hated it. I had to be so careful not to get water in his ears when I bathed him.

I got my hair did yesterday, so I am good for another month! All I need to do, is get my nails done. It's been a while. I thought I would give them a rest for a few months.
My toes are another thing. I hate doing my own. besides, I love the massage chair lol!

Well, good night all!!

I went to rheumatologist for my lower back finally today. It took three months to get in there. I was there for two and a half hours...an hour and a half of that Waiting! Dr spent a long time with me checking all my joints and going over my X-rays. My hips are fine (thank goodness) it’s that lower right corner of my back that hurts terrible plus makes me walk bent over.
He called it a few different medical terms....long story short. He’s having me get a few blood tests and will go over them at my next two month appointment. He also said he didn’t think I’d have to be seeing him often. Long story short is that he’s sending an order over to sally Jobe for a radiologist to give me an injection in my back. I asked how bad it’s going to hurt (I’m not great with needles or pain). He said, “well. It’s going to hurt but I have some patients that ask me for a second shot later down the road.” He feels as though this will work..if not then pain management dr. I now wait for ins approval and a scheduled appt. We shall see

Dianne said...

Mary....how was your luncheon today? Good food? I went to a quick weigh in at ww and then quick lunch and off to dr. I’m having a pedi Friday. i get them regularly even though I can’t wear sandals with my compression socks! Pain! Did eye dr turn out good? Btw, 75 over part of the weekend and maybe snow for Easter.

Barb, I’m surprised no one picked up your things from the curbside. Oh well. At least you got rid of them. I have duplicate things for travel too but forgot to transfer my blow dryer back after cruise. I used theirs on cruise ship but these cabins didn’t provide them.

JL, did you get to movie this week?

All our schools were closed today because of an 18 yr old that flew in from Florida and bought a shotgun and had threats against schools especially columbine. It’s columbine’s 20th anniversary of the shooting on the 20th. . We live about three blocks from the school now. The girl was found dead in mountains this am. Every single Denver school and suburb was shut down today. So sad and scary. The news tonight says columbine gets threats every single week.

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, I am jot understanding why the threats to Columbine! Those kids have done nothing wrong! Crazy world! That girl had to have had mental problems.
The luncheon was good. Problem was that my tummy did not agree! Not long after dinner I felt sick and my gut hurt. I barley made it to the bathroom!
I had planned to do some shopping before coming home. I tried, but my tummy kept turning and cramping. I stopped to by some Gater-aide , because I had such a dry mouth. It felt like I was getting dehydrated.
I went to bed after getting home. I called Matthew and asked him to bring im and Jim something to eat.
I slept a couple of hours and felt better. Back to my "normal" today. :)
I have had that happen to me before at these luncheons at the Union hall. Not sure if it is in the food or my not being able to digest so much different food, so early in the day.
It has been raining all day, but at least it's not too cold. I see warm weather is on it's way this weekend :)

Sac_Barb, Myla had to be taken to emergency last night. She had non stop projectile vomiting! I feel so bad for her and parents!

Just_lin, Yay on getting your windshield replaced!. My son in law had his replaced last fall. On the way home from the repair, his car was hit and totaled. He wasn't hurt, just mad!

Well, I am going to attempt to finish my shopping. I bought a fresh turkey for Easter Sunday and just need a dew more things. I wonb't wonder far from a turlet lol!!

Dianne said...

Mary, I’m so sorry about Myla. Is she better today? Do they know what was wrong? Well, I’m glad you enjoyed your lunch but that’s not fun having tummy issues afterwards. That bathroom stuff makes me nervous sometimes after a lunch to when I want to go by the store. I actually did that today but all was well! I finally went for my pedicure late this afternoon. I have pretty pink toes!

Tomorrow I have to go get a blood draw for the back dr and my diabetic check up. Sure hope my favorite girl is there that can find my vein first stick. I’m going for a chair massage afterwards. Maybe that will loosen up these old joints. I don’t like to go for a full massage anymore like I used too.

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, any word on your blood work yet? Are you able to download it? I can see my results with in a day on-line.
Myla is doing a bit better. She had a lot of blood work done and nothing showed up. She has to be at least 2 yrs old for allergy tests. They think she has some kind of virus.
Unfortunately Raquel is sick now!

Dianne said...

Oh boy, hard when mommy is sick too. Hope they both get better very soon. No, I don’t see the blood tests. I go to my primary for diabetic checkup this week and will go over it and back dr not for two months! My favorite girl found my vein first stick and no bruising. I had to wait some for my turn with her but I would have waited an hour to get her. She’s so sweet. She’s from Israel and brought me beautiful candle holders and praying hands from there last summer.

Barb and I went up in the mountains for lunch today as weather was beautiful. She’s going to brunch with us tomorrow too. I hope you all have a nice Easter.

Mary....I’m so proud of you! I haven’t had to nudge you in awhile now. Xxoo

Just_Lin said...

HAPPY EASTER! I hope you all enjoy your day. So far, it' looking quite lovely here with sun and blue skies. Yesterday was gray and gloomy with cold winds.

Just_Lin said...

Mary I feel so bad for little Myla and also for her mommy. It is stressful to have a little one who is sick.

Well, that was certainly no fun at your luncheon to be getting sick to your stomach. I recently had a morning where I vomited after having about 1 1/2 cups of coffee. The following morning I started feeling very bloated and "sickly" while I was still on my first cup of coffee. It felt like a lot of gasses were built up in my stomach. I take a 1/2 pill at night for GERDS so I decided I should probably go back to a whole pill like I once was taking. I have not had the problem since. Upon re-reading your comment, I'm not sure which end was giving you trouble: Heads or tails, so to speak. Whichever, I hope it doesn't happen again.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Oh, I'm so happy for you that you got your favorite person for your blood draw. I wonder if there's a number to call whereby you could find out if she's on duty before you go in so you could get her every time.

I still didn't make it to get to a movie. I've been binge watching some things on TV. I did a lot of that yesterday. Thursday I did a lot of housecleaning and then Friday I ran a bunch of errands. Oh, $20 got me just 4.9 galllons of gas in my car. I sure am glad I have a Prius. Anyway, I guess two days of so much activity seems to have worn me out and I was really quite lazy yesterday. I guess the windy, gray weather didn't help much, either.

Just_Lin said...

Barb How do you like your new sofa and love seat now that they are in your house? Yay for getting the delivery guys to take away your old furniture. Hopefully, you won't see your old sofa sitting on the side of the freeway somewhere. LOL Several years ago, there was a hauling company cleaning out the house next door and I gave the guy $20 to include an old mattress that was in my garage. It was definitely worth it to me to get rid of it. More recently, I had Junk King come and take away my old sofa and love seat and some stuff from one of the bedrooms. They figured it took up 1/4 of the truck and charged me $180 so Chad got quite a deal for $50.

My daughter will be coming down for dinner. She's Volunteering at an wildlife rescue place this morning. It will be her first time doing it so I am interested in hearing how it went. She may or may not be needed to actually do something with the animals. They could have her doing some kind of office work or cleaning cages or whatever.

Happy Easter everyone. 🐰 Today is my grandson Joshua’s birthday. He is 28. He and Allie are going to a Giants game in San Francisco. They invited us to go with them, but I don’t think I would be able to handle the drive (almost 2 hours) plus sitting in the stands for a game. The cbd oil balm had been helping my fibro pain, but lately it hasn’t been that effective. I have been doing more around the house because I was feeling better, but the last fews days the pain is back like before. It’s very discouraging. Maybe I’m just pushing it too much.

Arch’s Mom is now under hospice care at home. They brought in a hospital bed to try to make her more comfortable. She called me on Thursday and said she wants to donate most of her clothes to a charity and asked if I could help her go through her closet on Friday. Then on Friday she called and wasn’t feeling well enough to do it. We had a long conversation, mostly me listening, and said she is ready for the inevitable. I was in tears when we got off the phone. They are keeping her heavily sedated and as comfortable as possible.

sacBarb said...

Mary, I feel so sorry that Raquel’s baby is having so many health issues. I know she is too young for allergy tests, but if they think it is allergies, can’t they at least try to eliminate things that are common for allergic reactions? Is she nursing still? Maybe it’s something Raquel is eating that is causing it. They have probably thought of that already.
When I read about your ‘problem’ after eating out with your coworkers, it reminded me of a few months ago when I went to a movie with my sister and after the movie she wanted to go for frozen yogurt. All I had to eat that day was popcorn and when we got to the yogurt place my tummy started churning. As we waited in line it got worse so I headed for the bathroom. I made it into the bathroom but not to the toilet and threw up a medium sized popcorn all over the floor. Thank goodness it was only a one person bathroom. I cleaned it up the best I could and she had her yogurt when I came out. She asked what took me so long and I just said “we gotta go.” She wanted to eat there and I just said “we’re going.” and walked out. My tummy was still churning and I threw up again before we got to my house. I don’t know if that caused it, but I haven’t eaten popcorn since.

sacBarb said...

J/L, It was beautiful here on Friday and yesterday it was cold, windy, and rainy. AARP had a free shredding event so Sharon and I took a bunch of stuff we had been saving and it filled up my car. We were going to take it to a place that charges and it was going to cost us about $200. We were going to split it. Chad checked online and found this free event. He is really handy to have around!
It will be interesting to hear what Liz did at the wildlife refuge. I’s nice of her to volunteer to help them.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, How long does it take to get blood test results? Like Mary, I can get mine online, usually the next day. Of course, I can’t always interpret them because they only say normal or above/below normal and the doc tells me how good or bad that is, but I don’t always have to go in to the office. Kaiser has an email system and the doctors are really good at using it. Often it only requires a change in medications and they just tell me in an email.

sacBarb said...

So I lied. Josh is at the A’s game in Oakland. He just texted a picture of their seats on the third base side in the 10th row. We’re watching the game. Maybe we’ll see them on the telly! 😸

Dianne said...

Happy Easter everyone. Had a nice brunch and then took early dinner to my brother and visited for awhile. We had nice weather until about 4 and then it became a little rainy but not bad.

Barb, wow I wouldn’t think popcorn would do that to you. Maybe it was because you hadn’t eaten all day. I wanted to ask you when you're in pain is it a certain area or Everywhere? It’s too bad you can’t do the ride in the car. I’m more comfortable sitting than standing. Happy Birthday to your grandson. I think the blood tests are pretty quick but no email with doctors. That’s really sad about Arch’s mom. Your a good friend willing to help go through her clothes with her. Did chad go to the game with your grandson and wife? We’re pretty excited here about our basketball and hockey teams right now in the playoffs or something like that....

JL, well with your “morning sickness” I Was getting concerned. How did your daughter like her volunteer job? I’ll bet your dinner turned out very nice. Lots of leftovers? Barb and I are going to see Breakthrough movie this weekend. I’m looking forward to May 10 when the new Diane Keaton movie comes out called Poms. It’s about a group of women in assisted living that start a cheerleader club. It looks very funny.

Mary, how was dinner? How’s Myla? How’s mommy? Lots of questions. Hope your weather ended up nice today. Saw a picture of your walk and it looked nice. We will be in Phoenix mid May and it’s already 99 there.... not my kind of weather for sure.
..

sacBarb said...

Dianne, my pain is primarily in my upper arms and it is pretty constant. Pain comes and goes in other parts, but isn’t constant. I also take Tylenol to control some of it. I’m not sure it was the popcorn that cause my tummy issues, unless it had something to do with the oil in which it was cooked. Anyway, I just haven’t wanted to eat it again. I’ll probably get over it, because I do love Theater popcorn.

Just_Lin said...

Mary I hope your tummy issues resolved and that you enjoyed your turkey dinner on Easter Sunday. I have a lot of ham left over here for just little old me. Today I will take some of it and freeze it in serving size packages. I think I can get my daughter to take some of it with her when she returns from her travels next Sunday and heads on home.

I hope Myla and her mother are feeling better now. The baby across the street is less than 3 months old and his parents took him for his first camping trip over the Easter weekend, along with his 4 year old sister. I view camping as being a lot of work and I can't imagine taking a new baby and a 4 year old camping. Of course, to them, it is no big deal and is just what they love to do. They sure had a lot of stuff piled up on top of their SUV for a 3 day trip, though. It's amazing how much you need to take along for little ones.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne It sounded like my daughter had a very interesting time with the wildlife. I think her favorite thing might have been helping to weigh baby opossums. One mother opossum was very relaxed about the whole thing, even when she got weighed. Elizabeth wasn't sure if she was relaxed or trying to play dead. LOL There was another mother opossum that wasn't relaxed at all and hissed and had a fit about the whole weighing task. She also helped with holding a hawk while it's wound got treated. She helped with other animals, too, but I can't remember now what they were.

I've been up since before 7 because I've got Elizabeth's dogs here for the week and they are early risers. Phooey!

Just_Lin said...

Mary2 I just realized that I commented about your tummy issues and you aren't the one that had that problem! I knew that! I don't know why that got into my head when directing my comments to you. Let's blame it on age.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I hope that YOUR tummy issues are over and that you enjoyed your Easter dinner. Who cooked; you or Chad?

I'm sorry to hear about the situation with Arch's mom. It brings back memories of how it was for my mother near the end. It's really a tough thing.

I didn't sleep that well last night as I find it crowded to have three dogs on the bed even though it's a king size bed. It's not just that, I guess, but also that I don't know how "settled" they really are. Early this morning I had a small lab pressed against the front of my legs as I was on my side, and the chihuahua was under the comforter and pressed against the back of my knees. I felt pinned in. I wanted to roll over but didn't want to disturb anybody.

Mary/MI said...

Just_Lin, You aren't confused lol. I mentioned last week that I had tummy issues too, after my luncheon.
I can't even imagine you in bed with so many critters lol! Zoie usually only crowds the wall. For some reason she likes to keep her head against it. When we slept with Jim, she would sleep with her feet against me and her head pressing against Jim,or vice versa.
I bet camping with little children, is a lot of work! Oh well. they are young.

Mary/MI said...

I had my 6 month knee check up. I told her was a bit sore from all the walking I had been doing and daily exercises, including going to the gym. I was surprised to hear her tell me to cut out the long walks, for a while! She wants me to stick to the bikes (recumbent & cycles). I still have to do my regular exercises.
I will be taking Zoie on shorter walks for a while. I guess I was overdoing it a bit.
I don't have to check in with her again until the "year" anniversary of my surgery :)
She said all my x-rays were fine, so that made me feel good.

Mary/MI said...

Where are you Dianne & Barb?????

sacBarb said...

J/L, Today I took Mellie cat to the vet because she is peeing outside the litter box again. I don’t know if it’s Chad’s cats that are bothering her that is causing this behavior. They have been here six months, so I would think it would have happened back in October, when they moved in. Anyway, I have another RX for kitty prozac. She may just have to take it forever. I do anything as long as she uses the litter box. My house stinks!

How cool that you’re going to see Hamilton. I was hoping it would be on our theatre tickets for this season, but they are not! 😿😿😿

Mary, I think all your friends in the nest agree with your doctor about overdoing the walking. Congratulations on your X-rays coming out fine. You are doing so well.
I hope Myla is doing better. I feel so badly for her and it must be so hard on Raquel and her hubby.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I hope Louis is doing better. It’s so nice of Barb to come over and help you. She is a good friend.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I got your nag card and I truly LOL. You are so right. It is a perfect card for me (and some others).

Chad and I are out and about today. We went to U. C. Davis because they are having a plant sale at their Arboretum. They have gardening classes and once a year they sell some of the plants they grow. We went to look at what they had, but ended up not buying anything. Then we went to Costco to pick up the rest of Mellie’s RX because they only had five to give us. Now we are going the grocery store. We are having visitors from Washington on Tuesday, so Chad is planning his menu. I’m not sure how long they will be here.

Mary/MI said...

SacBarb. I feel so bad for Mellie. I hope she overcomes whatever is causing her problem :(
Speaking of company lol, guess who was over last night?? Max of course. Jim didn't feel like company so he didn't answer his phone when he saw it was Max. After his 3rd call, Jim felt bad and answered. Sure enough he wanted to visit. Jim told him he wasn't feeling good due to the Dr changing his meds. It went right over his head and said he would be here in 45 minutes. Jim told him he might fall asleep while talking to him lol. That didn't faze him either! One and a half hrs later he showed up. Miraculously he left before midnight! He is a mumbler and goes on & on about boring stuff, which I never remember lol. I now pretty much stay out of the living room.

Raquel and the baby are doing much better. Thanks for asking. Have any of you ever seen her pic? Let me know, if not, I will pm it to you.
I am watching the Rocking roll Hall of Fame...bbl.....

sacBarb said...

Mary, I don’t remember seeing a picture of the baby. Did you or Raquel post one on FB?
Max is one of those people you have to say “no” to instead of just dropping hints. Obviously, that doesn’t work! Jim should have told him he was going to bed and it wasn’t a good time to visit!

sacBarb said...

I forgot all about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! 😿😿

Dianne said...

Hi guys....it’s late sat night. We were back in ER yesterday and tonight. They are finally keeping him. Thank the Lord. He’s no better and so weak. They need to see what’s causing this problem. My uncle met us there tonight. Tam will help me tomorrow to get to his room. I need a wheelchair to go that far. It’s a pain not being more mobile.

Barb, yes barb is a great friend for many years. She was even going to go with me tonight but I’m able in Er with the walker. Tomorrow will be a different thing. Is your company staying with you? It sounds like it to me. I hope you kitty will be better.

Mary, I’d like to see a picture of the baby too. I too agree with your dr to not over work that knee. I think you've been doing too much since day one. Time for short doggie walks. Glad family is feeling better. Max is a pain! He does need to straight out be told no. He might come and just visit with you if Jim’s in bed...how fun.

JL,,how are you doing with all the dogs? It’s almost getting nudge time with you.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Well, here I am so you don't have to nudge me. Elizabeth is coming home today so I will only have one dog in bed with me tonight. Ursula and I will be able to get back to our own little routine.

I am so sorry that you were back in the ER with Louis again. What in the world is going on? I sure hope they get this figured out ASAP as you must be at your wit's end about it. I'm so glad you have your good friend Barb and family close by to help you during this difficult time. Here's hoping poor Louis will be on the road to recovery soon.

Just_Lin said...

Mary OMG! I can't believe what a pain in the ass Max can be! Talk about overstaying his welcome! He overstays it before he even gets there. The nice side of me feels sorry for him because he must be very lonely and Jim seems to be his only friend. I can afford to feel sorry for him when he isn't parking his ass in my living room all night. LOL

I forgot about the R & R Hall of Fame. Stevie Nicks was getting inducted, wasn't she?

I'm glad that Raquel and the baby are both doing better. Now, you need to take care of yourself and that knee.

Just_Lin said...

Barb I'm sorry to hear Mellie is having potty issues again. Don't you wish they could talk so you could ask them what the heck is going on?

It looks like you had a pleasant day at the arboretum the other day. Was that spider as huge as it looked? I wonder if it was a pumpkin spider as they get really big. We had one here once that seemed to build a huge web on a corner of the deck overnight. My husband jokingly said that maybe he should shoot it. He ended up trapping it in a jar and we released it at a ranch nearby. I could almost hear it galloping away. LOL

Last night I used the last of my Easter ham to make the HoneyBaked Ham recipe for potato soup. It is quite tasty and I'll be having it again tonight. Tomorrow I'll be back to the "what's for dinner" question.

Just_Lin said...

I have a large backyard so with having only one dog, I usually go on "poop patrol" twice a week. This week I've had 3 dogs here so have been doing it every day. Looking for chihuahua poop in the grass is like going on a demented Easter egg hunt.

Mary/MI said...

Just_Lin. I almost pee ed my pants with your " demented Easter egg hunt." comment!!
Zoie's poop barely gets out before I scoop it up lol!! We live in acres and make Jim pick up after Queenie. Her poop is big and I hate stepping in it!

Dianne. I sure hope Louis gets to feeling better! It must be so frustrating not knowing whet is going on! Hang in there kiddo!!

Barb, Max does not take hints! Jim did finally tell him he was going to bed. Jim said Max didn't seem to acknowledge him, but did leave after 15 minutes! Both of his parents were well liked in the community. They were both teachers. I met his Mom many years ago before she passed. Very nice Lady.

I am heading to FB and will PM Myla's pics. I see they don't "share" on FB except for close friends and family.

Dianne said...

Hi....Louis is still in hospital today...Monday. I think they will release him tomorrow. I’m not thrilled about it as he’s nit well yet and they still don’t know what's causing all of these issues. Kayla took me to see him today and you still have to wear a gown to go in his room as they don’t have virus cultures back yet. It sure takes a long time. It was nice to at least also to spend some time with Kayla. We went to lunch afterwards. Louis is getting fed from a yummy menu at hospital. It has quite a variety to chose from ..he may want to stay there.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I don’t understand hospitals. They don’t seem to be as attentive as they used to be. Sending Louis home when they don’t know what’s wrong baffles my mind. I hope you can get better answers soon and then fix whatever it is. 🙏🙏🙏

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, I forget what started all of Louis's problems. I know you have been doing a lot of traveling and wonder if he picked up something along the way.
You don't have any of his symptoms, so not sure about that.

I am taking a "Mary Day" and going to the Casino tomorrow. I want to get some slot points before Mother's Day. On Mother's Day they are having drawings for Louis Vuitton purses with money inside :)

sacBarb said...

J/L, LOL @ your demented Easter egg hunt! That created quite a visual! Your ham/potato soup sounds delish! I would love it. We had visitors today from WA. A good friend of Chad’s (Joanne), that he worked with and another coworker are on a girls trip to attend a baby shower for a relative of the other coworker and Joanne came with her to help with driving and to see Chad. He prepared a prime rib roast last night and put it on the smoker at 7:30 this morning. It was excellent! He keeps getting better at this smoking thing. He also made corn on the cob, mushrooms with wine sauce, garlic bread and salad. I bought a chocolate truffle cake that was so decadent, Each of us could only eat a very small piece. The bottom layer was dark chocolate cake and on top of that was a three inch layer of chocolate mousse, all iced with dark chocolate creamy something that made my eyes roll to the back of my head! I am sureI gained 5 lbs.

I’m giving Mellie the kitty prozak and it seems to be working. I haven’t seen her pee outside the box. She may just have to take it forever. I don’t know if that’s even possible. She is such a sweetheart and I feel so badly for her. Something is obviously disturbing her to cause this behavior and as you said, I wish she could just tell me what it is. I do feel it has to do with the new feline occupants, but I don’t understand why now and not when they first arrived. 😩
Chad said the spider is a jumping spider, and he zoomed in for the picture, so it wasn’t very big at all. The flowers are also small.

sacBarb said...

Mary, good for you for taking a Mary day. With your luck you should get lots of points! I hope you get one of those purses with lots of $$$ on Mother’s Day!

sacBarb said...

My heart is very heavy with the news about Sue. I am imagining Heidi and Sue’s Dad welcoming her. And Pepper and all Sue’s fur kids there, too. 😿😿😿

Dianne said...

I feel so sad too. She’s so young to be gone. I too think of Heidi meeting her. I’m also thinking about Sue no longer struggling with her pain. May she Rest In Peace.

Just_Lin said...

Such a very sad day. Love and hugs to each of you.

Mary/MI said...

Just checking in. I just can't seem to function today :(

Dianne said...

I’m checking in too. Still wrapped up watching over Louis. Love to you all

sacBarb said...

Checking in, too. Like Mary, I am having trouble functioning today. Arch’s Mom has been failing the past two days and tonight she just couldn’t fight any more. Chad just left here in tears to go be with Arch and the family. This has not been a good week! 😿😿😿

sacBarb said...

I love you all, too. ❤️❤️❤️

Just_Lin said...

Hugs and love to everyone. <3<3<3

Just_Lin said...

I guess I can't make hearts that way on here via computer. But you all know what I mean.

I'm just having a cup of coffee than will start getting ready for for today's matinee of "Hamilton".

sacBarb said...

J/L, everyone I know that has seen it really loved it. I know you will, too. Sharon and I may have to go to SF to see it. Enjoy!

sacBarb said...

Dianne, thinking of you and Louis. I hope he is better. ❤️

sacBarb said...

I just checked out Sports Leisure Travel for trips to SF to see Hamilton. We have used them in the past to see Phantom and Lion King before they came to Sac. and it was very convenient. They dropped us at Pier 39 for lunch and picked us up to continue on to the theatre, then picked us up after the show and back to Sac. Even had wine on the bus going home. However, the cost is $330. The Hamilton tickets must be really $$$!! Our prior trips cost us about $50 more than the cost of the theater tickets, which was worth it because we didn’t have to worry about parking and driving to SF. I guess we’ll wait until it comes to Sac.

Dianne said...

Hi....hope you’re enjoying your show, JL. Hamilton has been here but I don’t go to the shows anymore.

Barb, sorry about Arch’s mom. It sounds like she put up a good fight. It has been a sad week.

Mary, what are you Doing? How did you do at the casino the other day? Win a lot of money? I’m kind of missing those slot machines.

Louis is doing better but not well yet. Each day is different. He’s for sure better than a week ago but not 100%. We went out for some errands yesterday. I think he was glad to get out. I’m still watching him close. I did go to the movie today with Barb to see Breakthrough. It was a very inspiring movie. I picked up a plain chicken sandwich for him. He’s still really my missing dairy products. We are hoping to see Poms with Diane Keaton next week when it comes out. I have a busy week ...Dermo on Monday, back shot on Wednesday and mammo on Friday. I’m scared about the shot.

That’s it ....

Just_Lin said...

Barb "Hamilton" did not disappoint. LOVED IT! It really is a fabulous show. I would definitely see it again if I had the opportunity but now I have to start paying down my credit cards. I notice there are still decent orchestra seats available in later July for $250. I did see on the SHNSF website that you can take a train from Sac to BART station in Richmond or the Oakland Coliseum and then you take BART and get off at the Civic Center and the theater is right there when you come up to street level. We go to the BART station in Daly City for our trip to the theater. It's very convenient.

My dog suddenly started having an issue on Wednesday night. She went to grab a toy and screamed. I got her in to see the vet on Thursday afternoon. She can eat fine and is otherwise acting normal but it still hurts for her to opening her mouth really wide. The vet couldn't see anything too obvious in her throat except she looked a little swollen in the area of her jaw joint on the inside. She's now on antibiotic and pain med and is already on an anti-inflammatory due to joint issues. I sure hope this helps her as I really don't want her to have to be anesthetized in order to examine farther down her throat.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I'm so glad Louis is doing better. Do they blame the whole thing on dairy products? I'm okay to have a couple of scoops of ice cream or a small glass of milk but I do have consequences if I have more than that. For me it is a situation where I become gassy. Last night I had a hamburger, onion rings, and a malt. Let's just say it was fortunate that I live alone. LOL

Monday a friend and I are going to our favorite Mexican restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I usually like to go to Benihana for my birthday but we just did that for her birthday a month ago. I signed up for their birthday club so now have a certificate to use for $30 so we will go dutch in a couple more weeks. The certificate is only good for the actually birthday month.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Waving a wing at you. You are probably off doing something productive while I recuperate from one day out in the big city. LOL

sacBarb said...

J/L, All week I have intended to mail a birthday card to you and here it is, one day away, and I still haven’t done it. So, I am going give you an early Happy Birthday wish and an apology for not sending you a card. This has not been a good week for various reasons, and I really just want to retreat to my bedroom and shut the world out for as long as I can! I’m glad you enjoyed the show. I will have to wait until I am “bucks up” before I see it. I have some home ownership maintenance expenses from which to recover. It’s always something!

sacBarb said...

J/L 2, I published that first comment too quickly. I’m so sorry your pup is having pain. I hope you can figure out the cause so it doesn’t get worse. I really hate when our fur kids have issues.

Just_Lin said...

Barb Don't worry about the card and thank you for the early birthday wishes.

Except for not being able to open her mouth to it's fullest, the dog acts just fine in every other way. Whatever is going on back there in her mouth, I am really hoping the meds and a little time will resolve it.

Dianne said...

JL, sorry about you dog. Hope the meds work. Maybe she got a sting or something outside? No, they’re not saying his condition was based on anything in particular. It’s still frustrating to not know what the issue was that caused the misery for him for over two weeks. Today was his very best day. We’re not going to try dairy until about Wednesday, if he continues to improve. The dr said to introduce one thing for a week at a time and see how it goes for him. Glad you had fun at the show. Everything is so expensive to go to anymore. I love to go to a concert sometimes but the tickets are so expensive. That will be fun to go out and celebrate your birthday. I met my cousin today for Chinese and darn if Baskin-Robbins wasn’t right next door. Guess where we went for dessert? I haven’t been there for years!

Barb, yes, it’s not been a fun week. What kind of things do you have to get done to your house? We have to have $300+ electrical work done here tomorrow. Ugh.

Mary.... has just had to nudge you.

Mary/MI said...

Here I am! I have been doing a lot of spring cleaning and yard work. Matthew and I were out yesterday all day. Today I kind of crashed. After church I came home and passed out with Zoie. I guess all that fresh air and allergies were kicking my butt! I bbq steaks for supper, took Zoie for a walk, and did a couple loads of laundry.
My shoulder is a bit sore from using my new hand mower. The old fashion kind. I bought a small one to do Zoie’s fenced in area. Hard to get a reg mower in there. I got carried away and did a lot of trim mowing around trees and flower beds.
I made a little bit of money. Just not enough to buy us all a trip together lol!
I’ll check in tomorrow. Laying in bed watching tv and catchup on FB

Dianne said...

Ummm Mary, I thought knee dr said to cut back and take it Easy? Hand mowing doesn’t sound like it. I think we’re all going to have to come there and sit on you or kidnap for a few days. I think you’re grounded right now, missy. Maybe it’s time for a Vegas trip.

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, LOL, good luck keeping me down!
Jim's buddy Brian, showed up this morning asking if Jim could come out and play (Casino). I told him to go ahead. It is a beautiful day and he could have done a few things around the yard, but I know he would have just sat in his chair.
I took both dogs for a walk and now ready for a break. Even Zoie got tired lol. I had to carry her part way home.

JustLin...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Sorry your card may be late. I usually have my Birthday list set out at the beginning of each month. I hope you have a great day!!
Hope your dog is doing better today!

Barb, I don't think Hamilton will ever make it here in the back woods lol!. Honestly it's not on the top of my to-do list. That being said...I would go if I had someone to go with.
They predicted a cool rainy day. So far they have bee happily wrong !!

Dianne said...

Happy birthday JL. Hope your dinner was nice tonight

Dianne said...

Another sad school shooting not far away. 7 students injured and one died. Shooters caught..both students. There are 1800 in the school from k-12 grade. Will it ever end not much being released at this time. Denver on the news too much lately.

We’ve been having bad weather...hard rain, thunder and lightening today. Maybe snow on Thursday. Yuck! I think the weather is even going to be rainy on Mother’s Day.

Tomorrow is my shot in my back tomorrow. They called today to be sure that I didn’t have a fever, was well and hadn’t been to dentist in three days. Weird..I wonder why about the dentist. I told them how nervous I am so she tried to make me less nervous...didn't really work.

Louis is still plugging along..he got out today for a haircut but that’s about it. He’s still eating fairly bland and I might add not too thrilled about it.

Hope you’re all doing well.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne Well, how did it go with the shot in your back. I'm hoping it wasn't nearly as bad a you feared and that it give you some relief.

It's so sad about the shooting in the school. There have always been unhappy, screwed up kids but now shooting a bunch of people has become "normalized" as a way to show how upset they are. We like to think we are a peace-loving nation but our actions at home and abroad show differently.

My birthday dinner was a disappointment. I should have stuck with my usual Chile Rellano but I tried something new and didn't like it at all. I sent that back and ordered something else that was new to me (I guess I was feeling adventurous) and I didn't care for that too much, either and didn't eat much of it. I did enjoy the rice and beans and the margarita. Oh, and the chocolate cake later. I enjoyed that.

Just_Lin said...

Barb My dog is back to normal now. Yay! I noticed on Sunday night that it seemed she could open her mouth fully when she yawned. She is still on her antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds and I will complete those courses. It's good to see her able to play with her toys again without it making her cry. Plus, she's much happier. I think she was feeling like she was being punished.

How's Mellie doing? is she done with the inappropriate peeing?

At some point this month, I will be celebrating my birthday with my friends Jane and John. Once that's over with, I need to get serious about my diet again.

Mary/MI said...

Just_Lin, Sorry about your B-day dinner. I have tried new things too and wished I hadn't. The problem with me is, that I tend to forget which was the one I didn't like and a year later order the same thing lol! I did that a a popular Italian place. I ordered lasagna. It was mostly sauce and hardly a noodle, juat like before! Oye vey!

Our group went to a newly opened Italian eatery yesterday. I ordered a spinach, chicken, artichoke pizza. It was delish! The last one I had like that was on the Italian Riviera. Not as good, but close :)

Check in Dianne & Barb. Don't make me nag!

Just_Lin said...

Mary You make me tired just reading about all the physical labor that you do. LOL You have two menfolk living with you. It seems one of them should be doing the mowing. Of course it is healthy for you to keep moving and I should certainly be doing more of it instead of sitting around here way too much like a lump on a log in front of the computer or the TV. I need to force myself to walk more even though it hurts due to the sciatica. I am at my heaviest and the heavier I am, the more it hurts to walk distances. It's a vicious cycle. I keep telling myself I could turn on some music and dance but the days come and go and I have forgotten to do that.

sacBarb said...

Dianne, I hope that shot in your back wasn’t as bad as you were thinking. And I also hope it helps with the pain you were having. It makes me sick when I hear about school shootings, and other mass shootings. I feel like no one is safe! I pray that Louis’ healthy continues to improve.

sacBarb said...

J/L, I’m glad Ursula is feeling better. I have been giving Mellie the kitty prozak and she is doing much better. I haven’t seen her pee outside the box since I started medicating her. This RX is in pill form and much cheaper than the liquid compound I gave her before. The liquid was $65 for a 30 day supply and I had to get it at an upscale pharmacy. The pills are $28 for a 90 day supply from Costco. It’s also easier and quicker to administer.

sacBarb said...

Mary, here I am. I read about you doing yard work and I think I should get outside and do some. Then I talked to Chad and he said he has plans for the yard. He got the pressure washer out and started washing the patio and the block wall we have instead of a fence. It’s looking good. He washed off the moss that has been growing on the patio all winter. Yesterday he cut the vine that was growing over the wall from the neighbors side on all three sides.

Dianne said...

Hi...well, the shot was tolerable. The anticipation was much worse than the shot. It hurt for a minute. i don’t see any improvement yet but they said usually 24-48 hours. We sure hope so. It’s snowing and 36 degrees here today. Weekend is supposed to be mid 70’s. Snow was just on grass and trees and roads were good. I ended up going to the ww a couple of miles from me yesterday am. I’ll be gone next week so didn't want to miss two weeks in a row. I even had a small loss five weeks in a row! Next time will be a gain since I’ll be in Phoenix for a few days.

Barb, sounds like Chad is getting your yard and house all spiffed up. I’m glad we live in a patio house and don’t have to worry about outside things. The HOA is pretty good keeping up with things here. Glad you kitty learned where the litter box is now. Seems funny that pets use Prozac too.

JL, sorry your bday dinner wasn’t good. At least the cake was decent. I like to switch too and then sometimes regret it. I picked up two bean burritos from Taco Bell for myself tonight. I seldom do that but had a hunger for them. So glad Ursula is back to normal.

Mary, I know we can’t keep you down....even the dr can’t. Your pizza sounds pretty good except for the artichokes. We’re going to the Mellow Mushroom pizza place with Randy and Kathy next week. kathy said she’s having a salad...not me!

Today was Louis’s best day...finally. He also finally got tests results that the n-virus was negative. I got him his first Starbucks yesterday and he tolerated it fine. He was very happy

Mary/MI said...

Dianne, Yay for Louis and Starbucks! Did you ever give him my "boob" hugs/ LOL!!
I am hoping our snaow days are gone. We have had light frost warnings. I only bought one plant container with lots of pretty flowers. I have been covering it at night. I will by more after Memorial Day.

SacBarb. I try to keep moving. I remember my Mother and all the trouble she had with her legs. I know most was from her Diabetes, but I swore I would not let my legs get weak from not moving. I know my sis in Georgia is the same way. She has always run in the Georgia mountains. She is a real go-getter. Makes me look lazy lol!
Also, I think of my old neighbor Jim who lost both of his legs. He has not been well mentally. Vey depressed. I feel so bad for him.

JustLin, I am sorry about your sciatica. I am so glad mine has not flared up in a long time. It may have had something to do with my walking/limping with pain all those years. It must have thrown my hip off. I have had no issues since my knee surgery.
Everyone is different. As far as weight... well, I am no skinny minnie! I will always be on the plump side lol!! Hang in there!!
I love all of you just the way you are. Just stay happy and healthy please!!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, DEAR FRIENDS!

Mary/MI said...

Checking in...
I had a good time at the Casino today. Jim gave me a beautiful card with $100 bill in it :)
I won a couple small jackpots. Nothing to brag about lol!
My son Matthew got me a beautiful card too, some of my fave chocolates and lottery tickets. They must think I like to gamble lol! Speaking of.....

We are going to Vegas June 10. Mon-Fri. We had to wait until Matthew was done driving the school bus. The date was up in the air for a while, because they had so many snow days to make up.
I am looking forward to going someplace warm!!
I see Diana Ross will be performing while I am there. I would love to see her! I will be checking tickets.

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!!

Dianne said...

Happy Mother’s Day. Hope everyone had a good day. We went to brunch and then to visit my brother and sister in law. I wanted to mention that I had a text from my DIL thanking us for her thoughtful mother’s Day card. I agonized on finding a card for her.. I finally found one thanking her for being a great wife and mother. It was hard to find one under the circumstances.

Mary, sounds like you had a fun day. Did Jim go to the casino with you today? Yea, you’re going on a trip very soon. That will be a fun get away. It world be nice to see Diana Ross. I think insane herca out

Dianne said...

Well you don’t quite know why that posted and what the last sentence was auto correcting too. I was saying I think I saw Diana Ross about 35 years Ago!

JL and Barb...how was your day ? Barb, did Chad cook? I see you received a couple of trees! Nice.

sacBarb said...

I hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day. Chad cooked lemon chicken, corn 🌽, garlic toast and he bought a lemon meringue pie. It was yummy.

Dianne, glad Louis is feeling better and was able to get his Starbucks. I am so jealous that you’re going to see Kathy and Randy. Give them a big hug from me. I hope it’s not too hot when you’re there.

Mary, I hope you get to see Diana Ross in Vegas. I would love to see her. Maybe you will come home a big winner.

J/L, we had beautiful weather on Mother’s Day. Chad and I went to Green Acres Nursery and he bought a Meyer Lemon Tree and a Clementine Tree for me. I buy a lot of clementines when they are available and I mentioned that I would have liked a Meyer lemon tree in the back yard, so he decided to get them. We are going to keep them in pots for a while, until he gets the backyard all done.

Just_Lin said...

Barb We had beautiful weather for Mother's Day, too, but now it is raining and expected to rain on and off until early next week. I wonder how big your new trees have to be before they start having fruit. No trees for me but I did get some beautiful flowers.

My dog has an appointment today at the vet's to check her anal glands. I set it up 6 weeks ago and am not sure that it's really needed today but we shall see. By the way, if Mellie is going to continue to be on kitty Prozac, you might want to see about getting it online through 1-800-Pet-Meds. I give my dog Rimadyl daily for her aging joints and 60 of them cost me $142 at the vet but are costing me $62 online. I just needed to sign up with them and send in a script from my vet. It's definitely worth it if Mellie's meds are expensive.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I'm so glad that Louis is feeling better and getting back to his usual self.

That is great that you got a nice response from your DIL. I think you have broken the ice by being the bigger person and sending her a complimentary card. Under the circumstances, it probably surprised her. Kudos to you, Dianne.

Do you have Benihana restaurants there? I signed up with them online and now have a $30 certificate to use during this birthday month of mine. My friend and I are going to go tomorrow night. I'm so looking forward to it.

Just_Lin said...

Mary Did you get tickets for Diana Ross? That would be a fun concert to see. Would Jim go with you to the concert?

Your small jackpots would probably be a big deal for me as I've never won any other kind and those have been few and far between. It's probably good that I don't live too close to a casino because I really enjoy those slot machines. Generally speaking, I like to play games.

As horrible as I felt about Sue's passing, I didn't really cry until I saw that first post of Sunway's that showed that little shrine to Sue with her picture on it. When I saw that, the damn broke, big time. I think up until that point I had been kind of in denial. Since I didn't see her every day, I could kind of pretend she was still there. She was such a good person. I really hate it that she's gone.

Dianne said...

Spent the afternoon with Kathy and Randy. Rather than meet for lunch, they brought in and out burgers to the hotel. I’ve only had them once and today we both really enjoyed them. Louis said one of the best burgers he’s ever had...We don’t have them in colorado. The hotel gave us an upgrade to a suite so it was a nice place to visit for the afternoon....for about five hours. We had a really nice time catching up as it’s been about nine years! It was also nice to not go out in 101 temp. We are ending up staying an extra day to see the Texas Tenors that we came to see a second night and then have dinner with the fan club. I don’t quite know how I worked that with Louis yesterday but arm twisting was involved plus changing hotel reservations and getting tickets for the sat night show!

Barb, how was Aladdin today? Hope you enjoyed yourself. How long will it take for the trees to produce fruit? That will be great to have your own fruit trees

JL, yes we have Benihana here too. I like those kind of places too. Haven’t been for quite some time. Hope you had a nice birthday dinner. Thanks for the compliment regarding my DIL. It took me forever to find a card appropriate. I was pretty surprised by her text. I, also find it hard to believe Sue and Heidi are both gone when I look at those pictures from our last trip. So sad and I think about how sue went to visit Heidi when she as so sick for a surprise.

JustLin, I understand about your delayed emotion about Sue's passing. I was sad, but it didn't really hit me until I was on my PC and saw her name in my address book. I cried like a baby! Funny how some things touch you in certain ways. I think I will be in denial for a long time :(

SacBarb. I have decided to go to see Diana Ross. I haven't asked Jim yet. He usually likes to gamble while I am at the show. It is at the Wynn Casino, not far from our hotel (Venetian).

Oye vey! I washed all the bedding today. I got Jim's bed made and put off doing mine. Well. little Missy Zoie is fast asleep on our bed on her blankie! I will wait until she wakes to make the bed...and go to bed lol! I can't believe I am waiting on her lol!!!

Dianne, That was a g reat picture of you and Kathy! I am so glad you two connected!

Heading to bed. I am a bit pooped. I helped Jim plant the garden and I did some more spring cleaning. Tomorrow I have to have my front tire fixed. Twice now the air on my tire has gone way down. Jim checked it today and there is a nail in it.

Zoie finally got up to drink water so I was able to make the bed lol!
