I will be going to the food bank this morning. Then Mr. Lynn D and I will go to our traditional dinner out with our best friends! I think they pay this year but I can't remember! LOL We take turns every year it is our Christmas present to each other. Time spent over a good meal and trading off treating is the best! No pressure of gifts because this is the best gift.

We are staying home tonight and I like it that way.
Back when I was single I stayed home many many years alone on New Years. However, I didn't mind, because I had my ritual. I always bought 25 scratch lotto tickets, a bag of barbque chips, and 2-liter diet pepsi. I would watch The Bells of St. Mary's movie and fall asleep on the couch.
Wacky, but it worked for me and it made me happy.

The kids went home yesterday and I hoped in the car to meet Jodi and Turtle. Got there and Turtle hung up in traffic, so Jodi and I had to have a tall beer.. :) It was great to meet her and her friend that came along. Turtle is awesome, she is someone you could so hang out with.

Good morning/afternoon Birdee, IBB, No Newz, Tina, Iteach, Kahonugrl, Mek, Scirish, Goldie and Whabbear.
Nothing special for me tonight. We are suppose to get a blizzard this evening and overnight, so if I don't loose power I will probably just play games on the computer. Have a fun and safe New Years Eve everyone.
Just got back from getting my boost. Went and had breakfast and now we are back at the hotel for a lil nap before deciding what to do this evening.
It was a pleasure meeting Goldie and JodiHO. Laughed alot and they brought me presents. I now am the proud owner of a red WESconsin bear, curtousy of Goldie and Jodi brought me my morning fix of a Mtn. Dew, glazer donut and Smokes...AND a tub of the famous potato salad.
Traffic was a bitch getting there and we we're late as apparently Illinois drivers still don't know how to merge...lol. Then some guy decided to let the generator he was hauling do it's own thing and crashed shutting down all lanes of northbound traffic.
The ride home was no less eventful....when we came out of the "Badger Bowl" we we're greeted by snow. WTH? lol. Then furthur south freezing rain and then more snow....but it was worth the trouble as both Goldie and Jodi are funny as shit....well maybe not shit but you get the idea. I think that makes 5 bloggers I have met in person, still trying to meet up with a couple more before I make the trip back to WARM, SUNNY Hawaii.

Carol I missed that about your Uncle I am so sorry. Keeping your Mom in my thoughts as I know it is hard to lose a sibling. I have watched my Mom's family go through this many times (15 kids and only 6 left) it seems that my Aunts and Uncles take it harder each time one of them passes away.

Iteach: I like your ritual when you were young on New Years Eve, that sounds like something my daughter would do.
We had a chance to go to a party, but we decided to stay home. We don't go out for New Year's Eve, not since we were a LOT younger.
Just a toast at midnight in our Jammies and yeah, it works for us. I am always get sad and glad when I see Dick Clark, I hope he has improved a lot more this year. He sure improved in his speech a lot from last year and the year before. We always said he never looked any different for years and years, he always looked the same. When he had the stroke it was very sad.

Meanwhile, the petition to keep him on as NASA administrator was started by a person named Scott Horowitz, who I know personally. Scott is a former astronaut and former head of NASA's exploration systems mission directorate, the NASA division that's in charge of designing the new suite of spaceships to take us back to the moon.
Scott is very technically savvy, and I agree with him that Mike Griffin would be a very good choice to stay on as our administrator under Obama.
