Shirley has prepared a News Years Eve Feast for us, she has decorated the main ballroom in owl manor. She put together a champagne tower with her own two hands.. (watch tho, I already tasted it, and I think a little more than champagne is in there).. and she found the time to create a owl ice sculpture with her ice pick she used to pop balloons in ppl's ears..

but before I have to shut up about politics I am proud of Obama for finally taking charge...
Taking time out from his Hawaiian vacation to assert some executive authority, President Barack Obama on Wednesday used a series of recess appointments to override Republican objections to several nominees.
Obama used his constitutional power to appoint six people who have had their nominations pending for an average of 147 days (5 months!), according to White House officials.
White House officials said privately that Obama acted because of Republican obstruction of the nominations, which include the posts of deputy attorney general and ambassadors to Turkey, the Czech Republic and Syria.

I just can't stop crying.
The ex called me at 4:00 this morning to pick him up off the interstate, because the cops wouldn't let him get back in his car.
He was drunk going 91 mph. He received three tickets, but not a DUI. The cop kept telling him he was doing the ex a favor, a wake up call. I so wish that cop would have gave him the DUI, because now I have to deal with it.
So I picked him up off the side of the road which was two hours away and slept in a hotel for four hours. Then we drove back to his car and went our seperate ways home.

He has been on a path of destruction since he left me. I tried talking to his mom and brother back in July. They said they would get him help, but they never did.
This was his week with the kids and he had them spend the night last night at his mom's house, so he could have some fun.
So I did the unspeakable , I called and told his dad. He will never ever forgive me for doing that. I still can't believe I did it. I can't even begin to tell you how much Dean's dad means to him. It was like I told the Pope.
The backlash is going to be horrible. I always dreamed of us getting back together, but it will never happen after what I just did.

Don't beat yourself up.....even if you told his Father out of spite...which I don't think you did....it was still in his best interest...
The people that let him drive in that condition don't care about him...and he knows who does....

Jennifer It is time for tough love with the ex. You are NOT his mommy and he needs to stop expecting you to rescue him. The only thing that will really help him is for him to face the ugly truth about himself. If he doesn't want others to know what he's really like, then he needs to stop being that way and seek help. You did the right thing, too bad if he doesn't like it. The cop didn't do him any favors, either. He won't change if there are no consequences to his bad behavior. Make it clear to Dean that the next time he's in a jam he needs to call someone else. You are not his wife, his mommy, his, babysitter, his rescuer. Don't let him use you as his cover for his bad behavior. You don't want to be an enabler.
Thanks Ladies, you have helped my stomach feel better. I also took a shower and boy did that make a difference.
He just called me and told me is not mad at me for telling his parents and that he has really learned his lesson. I hope he has, but it really isn't my problem anymore.
I'm so going to concentrate on this 1000 piece puzzle that I started yesterday. :)

Jennifer, You did the right thing. He shouldn't have called you. I hope you made that clear to him! The police should have kept him overnight. I have never been in jail (knock on wood), but I am guessing it would be a wake up call for him!

I was reading and fell asleep. I woke up to go potty and looked at my watch nd thought it was 2:45am! I started to turn off the lights, etc...when I looked at the clock on the computer and it was 8:15!! I had confused the big and little hands of the watch! Thought I missed the ringing in of 2011!
