~ Master Of The House ~

by Tina~in_ut

I went to see Les Miserables........in Dallas.......with Michael's sisters. We have been talking and thought it would be good to go see it together. We decided to meet half way~ lol~ I flew 3 hours and they drove 3 hours to Dallas.

Mike was such a liar!!!! His sisters, Janet and Vicki, are nicer than nice can be. I kind of knew that already! I mean.....they put up with him, didn't they?!!! We talked a lot....some about him....about growing up...about our families.....we crocheted and knitted.....and ate.....and talked some more.....and ate.....we talked fashion.....you know.....like when to wear black and when not to~ We talked about history....mostly about presidents~ I even learned some new things!

They were kind enough to bring me the scrapbook I had made for their brother. They also brought all the cards I made him. I couldn't believe he still had them. There were also some other odds and ends along with pictures. It was quite a treat~ Before I left, I also got to meet Vicki's beautiful daughter and sweet grandchildren!

As for the movie, we went prepared. I brought each of us a pack of tissues. I felt kind of bad because, although I LOVED the movie and want to see it again, it was getting toward the end and I couldn't imagine myself crying. Then they started Bring Him Home.....and still nothing. It didn't sound right. I looked over at Vicki and she was sobbing. By the second verse, I lost it too. I was glad when the song was over and I cleaned myself up! Well that was short-lived, because I cried two more times! Michael and I would talk/e-mail all the time about musicals. We'd talk about this one or that one.....which one was the latest craze....and we'd always end up talking about Les Mis.....Our Favorite! Nothing ever compared. He loved loved loved the innkeeper and his wife and Master of the House. This was his favorite version.

I also wanted to share our before and after pictures. Before the movie, we kind of had to whore ourselves out to find someone to take our picture. I, of course, was too shy to ask anyone. One of the sisters, who shall be nameless, Vicki, was not! It's kind of hard to see the sign above our heads, but it's the name of the movie!

~Before~
~  Vicki & Janet ~
Afterwards, a woman kindly took our picture outside. The horrid person said, right before she took the first picture (which I'm not posting!), "Okay! CRY!!!!" And so I did!!!!!! We had been wiping up our tears.....and blowing our noses.....to get ready to take a picture.....and she tells us to cry! The nerve!!!!!

~After~

Tina Wonderful pics and blog. You look beautiful even after crying.

I have no interest at all in seeing this. Probably because I tried reading the novel once and it was so depressing I couldn't take it.

As for Michael's sisters. I'm sure they are wonderful people. I guess when Michael got outed as really being a man, he had to come up with another dramatic story, i,e., mean sisters. He had such a flare for drama.

Great pics Tina. None of you guys look like you had been crying.

J/L, You look lovely up there in first. I have no interest in seeing this movie either. I saw it on the stage and found it very depressing and I don't need to get depressed. I do like he music, however.

I am leaving in a few minutes to usher for a play called "Bark, the Musical." The description in the flyer states "Move over CATS! Here comes an outrageous musical comedy about man's best friend!" So I expect to be in a good mood upon my return. BBL

Niners are going to the Super Bowl! Yay! I won't be watching it since I'll be in Hawaii so here's hoping they can win without me.

TINA: Great pics! I'm so glad you got to see the movie with Michael's sisters!! Very cool! :)

I loved the song..made me laugh. I have never seen Les Miserables. I started watching the version with Liam Neeson..but couldn't get through it..I don't know why. I'm sure I'll give the movie with Hugh Jackman a go when it comes on cable.

J/LIN: Helllloooo Gorgeous! We just got home and it looks like your 49ers are going to win!

BARB: I hope the play is a good one..it sounds like one I would like for sure!! :)

We went out shopping and I don't know what I did..but my back is hurting again..ugh! Time to get out the heat pacs!

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

Well I am back and in no better mood than when I left. One of my crew got her dates mixed up and showed up when she wasn't scheduled, so I opted to let her stay and I am back home. I have a lot to do here anyway. The Jennifers and I are having a card making session at my house tomorrow and I need to prepare something for us to make. We each plan two cards. I have one done, but need to figure out what to do for the second one.

J/L, Congratz on your niners win. Maybe you can watch the Super Bowl in a Hawaiian Bar with the girls. I did that one year when I was there with my Uncle. It was the year the Giants played the Jets and there was a fierce storm with heavy winds, so we just chilled in the bar until it calmed down. Many Margaritas later we didn't care about the storm or the game! LOL

Zona, Ouchy. I hope the heat helps your back.

Heloooooow!

Just another lazy day here.

Tina, I have not seen the movie yet. It just came to my area this week. I may go to a matinee tomorrow. Glad to know the "wicked sisters" are nice to you :)

JustLin, I forgot we would be in Hawaii during the Superbowl! I really don't care who wins, only that my football numbers come in :)
10 more days!!

Barb, I have never heard of "Bark" is it about dogs? ^v^

Zona, ouch sorry about your back. I know if I go shopping on the hard floor surfaces, I come home with an aching hip.

Just_Lin said...

Zona I was wondering about the time lapse. LOL

I woke up with my back aching. Probably from the housework I did yesterday. Apparently, housework is bad for my health. ;)

SacBarb Well, if there is a storm in Hawaii on Super Bowl Sunday, maybe I can talk the girls into watching the game at a bar. Short of that, I don't think it will happen.

Mary I'm having a lazy day, too. I think I got all my ambition out of my system yesterday.

Hi Everyone...fun to have two brothers coaching in the Super Bowl. JL, I have to tell you if it was the Broncos in Super Bowl and I was in Hawaii, I'd be in bar alone!!! Btw, I do think housework is bad for your health. Congrats on your team too.

Barb, that was nice of you to let the other lady take your place today. You are very sweet.

Zona, I hope you get better soon. I wonder what you did to hurt it again? I guess you'll have to stay home and rest.

Tina, love the pictures and so glad you were able to go Dallas and visit and go to the movies with Michael's sisters. I don't know if I'll go to see it or not. I probably won't. It's great you are able to hop on a plane to gontomthe movies :). Thanks for sharing your day with us.

Mary, lazy day here too. I did a load of wash and then fell asleep so Louis finished it up for me.....good planning on my part. :) It was too nice to stay in but had nowhere to go...boring. I have pt and a dr appt tomorrow...at least I'll get out of the house.

That's about it for me. Watched a small part of football between sleeps today. Have a good night.

TINA - Love that song!! I think Sasha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter were fabulous as the innkeeper and his wife in the movie!! So glad you were able to go watch Les Mis with MICHAEL'S sisters ♥ I for one loved the movie!! The first time Jean ValJean sings the song it tugged at my heart, but the second time *when he's dying*....I sobbed!!

SLIN - I'll watch the Super Bowl with you!! Maybe they'll b playing it at Hula's!!

BARB - I don't think it is depressing. I see it as a story about the power of redemption and love. And I love the music!!!

ZONA - Feeling the need for a heat pack myself right now. After work I went to GOLDIE'S to see her son, DIL, grandkids, and of course her cute German Mother. After about 3 hours *and a couple Hulamoo's* it was time for me to go home. I laid down for a "nap" and just now woke up....10 hours later!! WTC!!!

MARY - 9 days now ;)

DIANNE - Good planning, indeed ;) Good luck with your appt's today!!
