Milk

by Sac Barb

In a convent in Ireland , the 98-year-old Mother Superior lay dying. The nuns gathered around her bed trying to make her last journey comfortable.

They tried giving her warm milk to drink but she refused it.

One of the nuns took the glass back to the kitchen. Then, remembering a bottle of Irish Whiskey that had been received as a gift the previous Christmas, she opened it and poured a generous amount into the warm milk.

Back at Mother Superior's bed, they held the glass to her lips. The frail nun drank a little, then a little more and before they knew it, she had finished the whole glass down to the last drop.

As her eyes brightened, the nuns thought it would be a good opportunity to have one last talk with their spiritual leader..

"Mother," the nuns asked earnestly,

"Please give us some of your wisdom before you leave us."

She raised herself up in bed on one elbow, looked at them and said,

"DON'T SELL THAT COW."

Happy Saturday Owls. I guess everyone is out doin' their thang. I've got a class today to lern how to use my Cricut. I'v only had it about four years and I've used it a ton, but I don't know all the tricks to make using it easier.

I hope everyone is having a great day. BBL

Barb, I need that milk minus the milk bad right now. I can't believe double ot and we lose by three. It's depressing!!! Our whole city will be grumpy now and I can't even tell you how our newscast will be tonight.

Wonder who will win the 49er vs Packers game? It looks like a close one so far too. I'm exhausted from watching our game. Plus remember that ticket deal I told you about yesterday? Well. I lost $120 on the tickets and to think I had them sold two days ago. Lesson learned the hard way....in more ways than one and with my own child even!!!

JL...I haven't used my tickets in years. It's a very long walk and cold and I'm not quite as into siting in the stadium to watch as I used to be years ago. I find it better at home in front of these big TVs

What's every one doing today? Very quiet. Zona, glad you got your leak fixed. It's not comfortable to be leaking..especially when it's cold.

I am going to watch the other game now and cheer and sulk for awhile.

Ok, I now remember about your "leak" Zona lol! I hope it gets taken care of tomorrow.

Sweet dreams all...

Condolences to Dianne and HOdi.

That being said.....YAY!!!!! Niners won!

Both games were great games to watch. I enjoyed them while over at a friend's house. The man of the house made delicious chili. (Zona I guess great minds think alike.)

I have been sleeping on and off since getting done with work on Friday. Just took my last dose of Zithromax last night. Starting to turn the corner and the ear pain is all but gone. LOIS told me to put Vick's in my ear. (an old Nanny Watley trick!!) First night it didn't do a thing, but now I'm a believer!!

SacBarb You are first and most beautiful on your own blog. Thank you for the cute joke. I'm a fan of ice cold milk. I like chocolate in it a lot but I don't think I'd like whiskey in it.

SLIN - Congrats to the Niners!! I'm guessing our lineup will be looking a tad different next year. Like the whole defensive line!!! grrr!!!

TINA - Who you hollering for these days? I still like "Matt the brat"!!

Jodi, so glad you're feeling better. I was wondering where you were during the game. You seemed very quiet and now I know you were sleeping. I'm cheering for the Texans tomorrow.

JL, I imagine you were at a fun football gathering. Ours was mostly fun until the OT part.

Barb, I forgot to tell you how pretty and special you look at first and thanks for the blog.

Tina, you're still cheering for those car races? Didn't you like a Jeff someone?

Dianne I really thought your Broncos were going to win. Both games were exciting to watch.
