Ok I came across this article on Huffington Post and it is not what you think it is. This subject is part of a commercial for Hardy’s restaurants. They made a commercial asking customers to help name their new product Biscuit Holes. Here are some of the excerpts from the article I read:
The Rocky Mount company that is Hardee's largest franchisee is angry about TV ads for the fast-food chain's new Biscuit Holes.
Boddie-Noell Enterprises, which owns nearly 350 Hardee's, is refusing to run the ads, which also are drawing fire from the Parents Television Council.
The ads ask customers to help name the sweet treats, and offer suggestions such as "iced B-holes." In one ad, customers doing taste tests are asked to choose between the "A-holes" and the "B-holes."

When there are "differences of opinion" like this, CKE provides alternative ads for Boddie-Noell to run in this market, Rountree added.
CKE is running the ads in select markets only after 9 p.m. and has no plans to drop the ads, said spokeswoman Jenna Petroff.
The ads are aimed at Hardee's "target audience of Young, Hungry Guys," she said in a prepared statement. "We do not aim to exclude or offend any other group with our efforts, but merely to appeal and amuse a very specific audience."
So yeah they are in questionable taste, the ads not the biscuit holes, but come on these are funny and memorable. In advertising you would think that would be a winning combination!

LYNND: First I'd wonder if they were serious, cuz I'm easily fooled that way. I really think an ad like this gets old quickly..but it is funny..in a smirky kinda way. I was waiting for the p-holes myself. ;)

Hey I LMAO off when I read this article and then saw the commercial!
Look If you can name a chain of fast food restaurants Jack in the Box (In our house we call it Jack in the crack), Hooters (which by the way has such tasteful commercials) or a food product Hot Pockets, Oh and lets not forget the Victoria Secret commercials where the models prance around in push up bras and crotch hugging underwear while they suck on their finger (suggestive much?) LMAO Hardy's just went for direct hit!
Mr. Lynn D points out that they really don't need to air the commercial on TV anymore as this has gone viral! Free Advertising!
I think the campaign was brilliant!

Well, as you all know, normally I find sexual innuendo highly disturbing and offensive, but in this one special case, I have to admit I LOL'd!
So... the verdict is... thumbs up to Hardees on the ad!
Although, since I haven't actually tasted either product personally, I don't know whether that's a thumbs up the A-hole or the B-hole.

LYNN D - Too freakin' funny, and brilliant, cuz it is getting exactly the kind of coverage that they wanted!! Although I must admit they must know someone in the Kwik Trip marketing department. Their latest campaign is all about the "magic box".....it goes something like this: "I have a magic box....one stop shopping....milk, produce, bakery, etc. And the music breaks into the Kwik Trip jingle". Seriously.....I might be talented, but I've never referred to it as the "magic box"!!! lol!!

okay.....speaking of A-Holes....my tacky boss just announced that he has a date this weekend....and he's making her pick him up! Lynn D, personally for me I thought they could have done a different commercial. I didn't like them, but there are a lot of commercials out there that I think go a little too far. Some of the shampoo and soap ones. I mean good lord, who acts like that when they're alone in the shower?! Well...I suppose some would! Anyway if I don't like a commercial I change the channel.

Hi All...nice to see all of you today. We don't have Hardee's here so I haven't seen that commercial. I agree with you SHIRLEY on some of those shampoo commercials. If I did some of the sounds that come from their showers...my husband would be calling 911 thinking I had been stabbed in the shower!!

Well, I went on my weekly trip to the dentist and he has decided I should have another root canal on the other side of my face and have the root canal guy check on why the first one still hurts. Ok...that will be another $1000--here, let me pull that out of my............pocket!!
I am going to take a nap now as I have a play to go to tonight that will last for 3-1/2 hours with two intermissions. This is not my kind of play that lasts that long but three of us have a annual subscription and the good comes with the ones that are not quite as good. This show is August:Osage Country. Hope it is a good play and will keep me awake as my snoring is annoying for the people trying to watch the play.

I had a fun lazy day today. My friend Don had a garage sale in Lansing. I stayed and visited with him all afternoon.I told him it was the only way I could catch him home lol!! We worked together at G.M. for many years.

Thanks Lynn D. for the blog today, it had me thinking about our Hardees in my town.
When it first came the town went crazy. We had like one other choice back then, so the place was hopping! My sister and I use to ride our bike down there to eat, it was a big treat for us.
However, as years have passed it is completely run down. Totally dirty and kind of scary. Not too many people go there now. I feel sorry for it.
