Just read about the Kanye and Serena debacles! WTF People are losing their minds. How to make millions of people feel uncomfortable and pissed off. I guess it makes headlines and as many have learned there is no such thing as to crazy and bad publicity anymore.
Ok off to get some things done here at home. I want to do laundry but have already had 3 damn phone calls about the food bank so I guess I need to take care of that first. :(

It was nice to get a sneak preview of you from the video.
Kanye West has been disrespectful many other times and then he rode out on the coat tails of the death of his mother for awhile. Finally people (celebs) are speaking up about his behavior. I am surprised Jay-Z did not pop him one. Kanye was messing in the wrong territory by speaking up like that. It was a very hard lesson in the celebrity world for Taylor Swift to have to experience but it may make her wiser into how fame can destroy a person very quickly. For her to stay wholesome and true to herself. Beyonce has solid roots and she has been in those shoes at that age entertaining. Beyonce was so respectful to Taylor Swift to make things better for her. I commend Beyonce for what she did.
Serena might have a little of her father's temperament. I remember when they were younger and their dad was on the side lines, he would go off about a play.

I didn't watch the awards show but of course, did see the replay of the incident with Kanye. It was such a rude, bully move on his part. Kudos to Beyonce for stepping up to the plate and showing her good character and generosity in sharing her moment with Taylor. I think the situation with Serena was an aberration. It is not her normal behavior at all. Just a momentary and unfortunate meltdown during a very tough and difficult day for her. Traditionally, she has always shown good manners and grace, win or lose.

Speaking of ghosts, I was so sad on hearing about Patrick Swayze.I loved "Dirty Dancing and watch it when ever it comes around."Ghost" still brings me to tears.
A dear sweet friend of mine died of the same disease a few months ago. He almost lasted 5 years. At the funeral his wife told me how he loved to hear me sing, especially "Before the next Teardrop Falls", so I quietly sang it to him. Let us hope a cure for that and all cancer related ills, is found soon.
I have a hair appt. in Lansing at 4:30, so I better "git"......

I did not mention Patrick Swayze this morning on the previous comments section before Carol posted this here. Pancreatic cancer is a horrible cancer and I saw my son-in-law's mother fight the battle with it for 15 months. We lost a shining star in Beverly at 59 years old. It is a very painful cancer and for Patrick Swayze to make the show he did while taking treatments tells all of us the strength he had inside him to continue to work. When he was filming he did not use any pain medications.
I am sad about Patrick.
I can watch Dirty Dancing over and over again. As well, as Ghost!
Two movies that he did that left his signature for all of us to love. There were others but these two films just melted my heart about Patrick Swayze.

CAROL: Loved the 'Carol After Dark' video! I hardly ever watch award shows..so I didn't know about Kanye West's behavior until I read about it later that night. He's always been a loose cannon..so what he did doesn't surprise me. I'm not sure what could be done, outside of banning him from award shows, to show him his actions were not appreciated. But ya know..TV is all about the ratings, and unfortunately, I think he's going to be invited more rather than less in hopes that an audience will tune in to see if he acts up. It's kind of the nature of the business I guess.

oh....i have to tell you....whenever i talk to my kids about Kanye West...i call him Cain West....and it drives them crazy...i live for stuff like that....I told them if he wanted his name pronounced correctly, then he should have either had a "normal" name or spelled it right: Kan-yay! :)~
I need to share something with all of you. I almost don't want to write the words cause I'm afraid it may take away the nice feeling that I have. But today I realized that my mother loves me. That may sound silly to some of you but it's a big deal to me.
I told her I had to work at the tax office today, but if she needed me to call. She has had bowel problems since last Friday. She called me asking where a certain medication was. I told her exactly where it was and she said she looked and couldn't find it so then she said good bye. I could tell she was crying. I asked my co-worker if we could lock up and her take me to mum's. She was in a lot of pain from her bowels so I called the nurse who said they would come. I asked mum if she wanted me to stay but she insisted that I go. I hugged her and told her everything would be alright. She held onto me and said "thank you".
It was a brief moment, but one I have waited almost 47 years to feel. It feels good.

Shirley, that moment of realization can change our lives. There are some people who aren't comfortable saying the words, "I love you". Most of us need to hear those words, even though they're sometimes thrown around so casually. If we look at actions, we'll see those close to may not say the words, but they show it every day of their lives. You're showing Mum, and now she's let you know.
SHIRLEY...you made me cry. Even though I am sure your mum has loved you since the moment she discovered she was pregnant with you, it does feel good to actually know it. I am happy for you and you deserve to know it. {{HAPPY HUGS}}

I am so happy you had such a wonderful exchange with your mom. First, I do not know how old she is or you. I am 61 years old and I lost my Mom in 1996. My Mom was a wonderful Mother but growing up we did not hear those words, I love you, from my parents. We saw the guidance and kindness but words were not expressed. It was the time of the Era that I lived in. If my Mom had lived she would be 85 years old. The older my Mom became, the softer I saw her in her mannerism. I think she stayed that strong woman that she was because she wanted her children to obtain that strength within ourself. My Mom was a cream puff around the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
What you are doing for your Mom, she feels your love for her and her simple "thank you" was I love you. The grumping is her way of not dealing with her health changing and she is frustrated. I think you were pretty special to leave work and go to her aid. Love was pouring out of you towards her and she knew it.
I am happy for you. I will say a prayer that she is feeling better soon.
Tina, Bonachichi, Maureen and Gloria thank you for your comments. Today will help me deal with all the difficult days ahead a little bit easier. I really felt like she knew she could count on me. She called and I was there for her.
By the way Gloria, mum will be 70 Oct. 21st and I will be 47 on Nov. 20th.

Truthfully I never thought about it then. I do know that my 6 siblings cannot say it enough lol! We always tell each other how much we care for each other. Well I caved to peer pressure and now have a freaking farm! Shut up Tina!
I went to market for the first time to sell a crop and was gang mobbed by a crowd of desperate fruit pickers! They all wanted to plow me! Jaysus! I have now learned to sell my crops and get out fast! Hmmmm seems to me if everyone was really this eager we would not be having an economy problem or an illegal immigrant problem.
Then I went back to the farm and the three trees gifted to me are missing! WTF Did some pissed off farm worker chop them down? Are there such things as tree rustlers?
Harvested and plowed for Sacbarb and earned some money and now I am dead tired.
Oh and Mary sent me a turkey. I don't quite know what to make of that. Is there a subliminal message there?
