Good Morning Tina - Oh beautiful one.

Zona - That is very cool. I will be back to comment. I just woke up and I need my orange juice.

Wake up, wake up Friend Owls. It's a beautiful spring morning in the nest.

I guess my wake up call didn't work. It must be my soft voice.

The fur babies are fed and off to the groomers. I am waiting for the arrival of my new stove. Sears said they would deliver between 8:00 and 1:00. I am hoping they won't be here until Jack gets back just in case there is some problem getting it into the house. Our driveway is a circle driveway and it is not easy getting a long truck in and out of it. We are also on a curve in the road and cars are not allowed to park on the side of the street. This will probably be the one time they are early.

Zona - I can identify with the mothers in the video even though my daughter never did get good enough for the Olympics. She competed in gymnastics and we had to get her to the school by seven in the morning 3 times a week. She won the gold medal 4 years in a row for being the best in Victoria and then the best on the Island. She was very good. When she competed in the B.C. competition she came in 5th. I use to think of what it would be like if she became best in B.C. then best in Canada only to be not good enough for the Olympics. Some of her friends wanted to be in the Olympics so badly. They trained and trained but didn't make it. It's a hard life. Just imagine making it to the Olympics dreaming of gold and then get silver or bronze. If you look at the faces of the little gymnasts standing on the podium with their silver or bronze ribbons around their necks and you can tell they feel like failures. To be second in the world and feel like they lost seems so sad to me. I got just a "taste of it" with Cara competing for 5 years. I can only imagine how hard the Olympic contenders work.

yeah....I trained for synchronized swimming....but we had this little quy of the team that would go underwater right before our big finale of flying out of the water...and he would pull our swimsuits down....so we would always get right to the end of the routine and....no cigar.

Tinka...

do you cook with gas...electricity...or wood??

Tinka said...

Good Morning Michael - I bet you enjoyed every minute of the finale. LOL

We cook with electricity here at home, gas at the trout farm and wood if the power goes out.

Do you still swim much Michael?

My stove is here. I can't believe it. Jack got back. Sears arrived and had no trouble getting the truck into the driveway. They brought in the new stove took the old one and were gone in just a few minutes. Pretty good service I must say.

We are off to do errands while my babies are being groomed. We will pick them up at noon, come home, Jack will leave for the farm and the fur babies and I will nap. See you later.

Have a great day all owls everywhere.

I like to take a dip first thing in the morning but the water is still too cold right now...

Is ur new stove white or colored?

Zona, It's a long road to the Olympics for the athletes and their families. It takes a lot of dedication on everyone's part. Thanks for sharing the video.

Waving a wing to Michael, Tinka and Tina (moaning in first again).

Home and up from our naps feeling pretty good. Tango and Tia always love to get home. They run around checking out every room of the house and the yard.

Michael - I knew you were kidding about the Olympics but I bet you could do them if you really wanted to. Aren't you Superman?

My new stove is white. I remember in the 60's when we all got copper and green stoves and we thought they were fantastic. Now I like white and wonder why we ever chose anything else.

Hi Barb - You are so right. Training for the Olympics is
so hard. You have to really want it bad to put yourself through such torture. Some little gymnasts in Romania leave their parents and go and live with the trainer. They train until they are 16, 8 hours a day. Just think of all the fun they missed in those years not to mention all the time with their parents in their childhood..

Tina What a surprise! You were first again and the best looking of us all. Congrats.

Zona That was a neat vid. Thanks for sending it in. Amazing the dedication the parents have to have, as well as the athletes themselves.

Tinka Congrats on the new stove. I'm sure glad to hear that the installation was performed quickly and ther were no problems.

Michael I'm sure you looked really fetching in your synchronized swimming routine with your nose plugs clamped on your nose. Such a good look. lol
