This Night Owl Blog has given so much! It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"! We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly. And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :) It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

It Happened Again
i am having a issue with my weight
i can't seem to get a control on my
eating, i feel like a bottomless pit
it just seems i am always hungry
try as i might, the hunger stays with
me, each day i wake and tell myself
it is going to be a good day, i will
control my food intake, by 1pm
all bets are off
just not really sure what happen
i did have it under control, my weight
was stable, and i was able to stay away
from foods that just seemed to add
the pounds on
it has been since christmas 07 that
i have lost the control, and definitely
gained weight
so now i am starving myself
i know that is not good, but i have
to do something
summer is approaching and i just
don't want to be that poor beached
whale lying on the jersey shore beach
i know i am me, and i will always
be a plus size, however i just need
to gain that control back
i have put myself in this position
before, so it is happening again,
and i allowed it to do so
oh boy, just another issue to deal
with, i just want to attack this issue
this minute, and i know i can't as
this is going to take a while
wish me luck
:O)

sonia aka downeysinnfld aka drill sargant. :D
I'm up too Want! I don't know if you want to be congratulated or not, though for being number one again, LOL!
In fact I have been up ALL NIGHT with Miss Laurie, throwing up, and having bouts of diarrhea, sorry if that's TMI.
She keeps gagging, and very little is coming up as she has not eaten or drank much all day yesterday, or last night, but will not let herself relax and sleep, hense I do not sleep either.
Just got off the phone with the Advice Nurse from Kaiser, who said to give her spoonfuls of water every 10 minutes, alternate with Jello, and to email her Dr to see if he wants her to come in, which I just did. He will probably just say this is a stomach virus and to wait it out.
Easy for him to say, he hasn't been up for 24 hrs with her!
I feel so badly for her. She just doesn't understand why she feels so crummy, and won't just try to relax and sleep. She makes herself cough and cough until she finally coughs up a bit of stuff.
Well, it just turned 6:00 am here in Northern California and is light out. I want darkness and my bed!
Haven't read the blog yet, just wanted to see if any more Owls were up like me!
Off to give Laurie another spoonful of water, and then to read the blog.
I hope to get in a small nap in a little while.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
DonnaJean & Laurie Elizabeth
Try to get some rest DonnaJean.

Hello, welcome to the owls blog, you will see familiar names, just join in.
It is good to see ya!
Hope you and your family are doing well.
DonnaJean:
Sorry Laurie is not feeling well.
Geez, try to get some rest today!
Keep us posted.
I have to start my day, I have lots of client appt's today! I will get tired of hearing me at about 2pm today! :O)
In the middle of all this, I will be hungry and have to put a life saver in my mouth or drink a gallon of water!
Its so hard...
Its only 9:29am and I am starving!
Everyone!
Have a great day!
Forgot...
Mek:
Area 51, you crack me up :O)
Bye!
Good morning sleep and Donna Jean!
Congrats on 1st sleep!
Donna Jean, I'm sorry that Laurie isn't feeling well. Hopefully it is a 24 hour bug and it will subside in a couple of minutes. We could always hope!
Carol, no matter what our weight is we always want to lose some. I ask my husband all the time "do I look fat in this?". He thinks I am crazy. If only we could all relax and accept ourselves as we are. I am a little fixated on age. I will be 55 next month and I am feeling so old! I can get very down about it, but I try not to think about it.
Have a great day owls!
Hi downeysinfield!
morning want, sonia, carol, dj & gm
1st again want? WOW
Sorry Laurie is not well, hope she feels better soon.
Welcome Sonia, this is the best nest on the internet.
Carol- have you tried the carmel mini rice cakes by Quaker? I am not a fan of rice cakes, but these are really good and satisfy a sweet tooth if you have one. 10 mini cakes is about 100 calories. Great mid afternoon snack.
Good luck- I totally relate. My SIL were discussing bathing suits yesterday. Oy.
The drilling, sawing and hammering have started for day 2. The good news is that my door is back on, so it is a bit muffled. But dang it is going to be a long day!!
Here is a statistic to go with breakfast---- your computer keyboard is 5X dirtier (germier) then a toilet seat!! ICK- bringing out the disinfectant wipes!
Good morning hooters!
Hey Sonia, welcome, good to see you!
Hi Want, you got first again! Congrats!
Hi to Carol, DJ, DM & Goldie :)
I can relate Carol, and it gets harder to control and lose weight as you get harder, it seems.
My huz likes dessert, chips, etc. and it is hard for me to pass them up.
We both are planning to swim daily and do laps to get some exercise. Plus we eat more salads when it's hot. Sooo, hopefully we can get in a little bit better shape this summer.
DJ sorry that your girl is sick! Hope she feels better soon.
Gotta get ready for work, so hope you all have a nice day today!
Good Morning Owls!
Congrats on 1st Want!
Weight. Who doesn't have a problem with it. Either too skinny or too fat, hips are too big, stomach is jiggly, thighs are dimply. Everyone hates something about their body. I know what I need to do to lose weight. Eat 6 small meals a day, drink tons of water and exercise. It helps a lot to take a Green Food based multi-vitamin & green tea in the morning. Take grapefruit pectin before each meal because it makes you feel full. I have all of that stuff. I just got out of the habit of doing it.
OK....I'm done. Off to read the morning paper!
Have a great day!
Good morning, Carol, DonnaJean, Sleep, GM, Goldie, and East Bay!
Sonia: OMG! WELCOME to the owl's nest! I think you'll like it here more than the Rossblog... it's changed so much over there, and you can talk about what you like in here, and not get criticized for it.
For me, I always enjoyed your stories of family life, and look forward to you enriching the nest with them!
DonnaJean: Hugs! You must be exhausted.
Carol: Are there any safe appetite suppressant drugs on the market? I want you looking good on the Jersey beaches too!!
Good morning, Tinkatia (just cause I know you'll be flying in soon)!!
Sleep: Missing you in chat this week. Last night we were lampooning reality shows, and started talking about "wife swap". Everybody agreed that it is abysmal, but not as bad as the reality TV show CG suggested should be in development:
"twat swap".
Yes, trust CG to cross that line!!
Good morning, Barb! Would you like to be on CG's reality show? Maybe you and Tina?
Good Morning Owls!
Carol: Thank you for the list of hotels and other helpful info! I looked at photos of the Renaissance Hollywood, and it's beautiful. I would love to stay there, but it falls into that 'champagne taste on a beer budget' category. ;)
Donna Jean: {{Hugs}} for you and Laurie. I hope she starts feeling better soon, and you're able to get some rest.
Sonia: Welcome to the Nest!
Good morning OWLETTES!!!!
Want2.. Congrats on 1st Again..!!!
Good morning...Grandma Moses...
Donna Jean...Goldie!!
Welcome... Downey!!! Most everyone in here calls me IBB...
Carol.. Great blog...
But what most people don't know is... when your tummy is growling... 99% of the time your body is telling it is De-hydrated.. most people walk around de-hydrated... sooo when that tummy growls drink some water... and ..always eat a good breakfast..
I find if I don't eat a good breakfast I am eating all day... but if i eat a good breakfast I am good till dinner time...
But the ysay that is unhealthy also... eat 4-5 small mewals vs 3 large ones!!!
now i just need to follow my own advice,,,
hope every one has a great day.. i know lots have landed while I am Typing...so slow...
BArbWa...
Whabbear..
Amicus...
EBJ...
All posted while i was typing...MORNING ALL...
Good Morning Owelettes,
Carol~What a great blog, regardless if it's 10 or 50 lbs, it's always a major project.
Donna Jean~So sorry Laurie Elizabeth is feeling so ill. Try to get a little nap in today.
Grandma Moses~Feeling old?? If I had a choice of feeling old, or feeling fat, I'd take old any day.
Btw, 55 is not old, just keep moisturing. lol
Goldie~Round 2 of the hammering and sawing...hope that noise is over soon for you. Much to my dismay, it is bathing suit time again and I hate shopping for one.
It seems that when you find one you think looks good on you and head to a pool, invariably some cute 22 year old will come lay-out next to you. So that's why I always have a 'new' beach towel handy. lol
Welcome to the nest Sonia.
ebj~I agree, it does get harder to lose wwight, the older we get. Gotta love those fat cells!!
It would seem that living alone would make it easier to lose weight. You know...don't buy it, don't bring it in the house, don't eat it? Even when you don't have to cook for a family anymore, it's still hard. One would think losing 10 or 15 lbs. would be easy....WRONG!
Bon'O~great blog yesterday.
TWENTY - FOURRRRRRRR
TWENTY FIVE
Good morning ibb, BarbWa, Amicus.
Morning, MEK.
Top o' the mornin' to ya, IBB, Amicus, and Ronniegirl !
Bon'O: Left message at the end of A51.
I guess I arrived later this morning because the nest is full of Early Owls.
Good Morning
Want2sleep (No. 1 again), Donna Jean, Sonia, night.owls.sb, Goldie, Grandma Moses, East Bay J. and Barbara.
Welcome Sonia - We all 'talk' on myspace. Do you have myspace?
East Bay J - Have a good day at work.
Donna Jean - I am so sorry Laurie is sick. Does she like to suck on ice cubes? That helps sometimes. Give her a hug from me. She could be getting dehydrated by now. I would get her to the hospital but then I am neither a nurse nor a doctor so what do I know?
Grandma Moses - Please don't feel old at 55. I remember feeling old at 30 because most of the staff were around 21. My daughter feels old because she turns 40 this year. Now I would feel really young if I were 55 again. It is all so relative.
Goldie - Maybe you should get a pair of ear protectors like the gardeners use when mowing the lawn. They aren't attractive but it may save your sanity.
Carol - I think most of us have spent our adult life trying to lose weight. It is so frustrating. These last ten years have been hard for me to stay at my Weight Watchers' goal weight. I just know that all it will take will be one month when I don't feel like weighing in and I will be right back struggling to lose again.
Why does our metabolism have to slow down once we pass 30? Did Someone play a trick on us I wonder? Men don't seem to have the same problem. When they decide to lose they usually can do it quite quickly. I repeat. A trick maybe????
I remember when i was in my 30's years ago and my doctor gave me the most delightful red and black pills to curb my appetite so i could lose 10 or 12 lbs. Not only did they control my appetite, I had the cleanest house in the neighborhood AND re-painted all the lawn furniture. OMG, they were amphetamines. Oh, I lost the weight and never had so much energy.
Good morning Tink! You are getting so computer literate with all your classes...I'm proud of you.
Wow, a lot more owls arrived while I was typing.
Good Morning Whabbear, Amicus, Ibebold, Ronniegirl and Mek. How are you all doing today?
Morning MEK...
Ronnie---fabulous little red and black pills...LMAO!!!
Tinka...Good morning sweet tink!!!
Donna jean--From Area 51--
Congrats on your march!!!!
isn't that fun!!
ibb!
Now that was before your time. Those things were legal and doctors gave them out all the time. lol
Ronnie-- What do you mean before my time...???
I need to vacuum and dust today, sure could use a 'push' from my doctor. lol Fat chance in hell I could ever get anything like that again.!
ibb, you're just a babe in arms compared to me.
Ronnie .. I don't think so ..
I just went to your my space page and you don't tell your age... but...
40
I used to tell my age...I'm 98, and one hot mama. lol
MEK--
SAC BARB==
my 3rd package fromQVCX arrived just now.. I have tear drops and rain drops..

Returning a Hello wave to: IBB, Whabbear, Ronnie, Tinka!
Whabbear: Are you feeling any better? Did you call the doctor yesterday?
I just finished catching up on yesterday's comments.
Mary: You saw Jersey Boys - YAY!! Wasn't it super-duper amazingly fantastic?! :) Which Frankie did you get to see?
Great Idea Tink, but I have to hear the phone ring so I can answer and YELL at the people on the other end to be heard!
LOL- I actually had to say to the workman yesterday- "hello this is a phone, would you not fire the drill up when you hear it ring???????" Geez
46
47
48
49
50!
btw, ibb...thanks for the compliment. You're MEK's baby sister, and I'm older than Mek.
Comprende?
Happy WEdnesday!! (thank you Bono - my typo from last week - I think I will STICK with it!!!)
Good morning..
Cpgem - great blog - GOOD LUCK, wish I could help, but I find myself in the EXACT same place!! No control what so ever - I was limiting myself to ONE vanilla cream egg a day and lately, find myself eating two or three - NOT GOOD!! and along with all the other crap that I eat - it just keeps adding up....
AND - glad I could amuse you last night... LOL (now, get to work!! LOL)
Want2 - congrats on Number one!!
Sonia - welcome - FYI - most of us here in the nest could careless what is happening on the "other blog" - My push up days are over - I only MARCH!!!! :-)
Donna Jean - sorry to hear you have been up all night - Hope Laurie feels better soon.
Grandma Moses - Good Morning..
Goldie - hope the drilling stops soon, so that I can start chewing my ice again!! LOL
:-) - thanks for the germ alert!!
EBJ - we like to eat salad during the summer or grill out - just too hot to cook inside!! Good luck with the swimming!!
Barb in WA - lol at "i'm done" - I need to read my paper also!!
:-)
Whabby - you have FINALLY seen the light!!! THANK GOD!!!!!!!!
Amicus - I hope you find somewhere to stay in LA - it's hard when you don't know the area!! Maybe you can find a place on "daquiri" budget!! :-)
IBB - :-) - we need to follow in our little brother's footsteps and get busy!!!
Ronnie - good morning - lol - little pill!! :-)
Tinka - good morning -
Gosh - the more I scroll down the more people have landed!!!
Good morning all!!!
Let's all raise a glass of water today!!
CHEERS...
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!!
:-)
geez- when I started typing that -there were 33 comments!!
Bear - I thought I was imagining things but I think I heard your
"Hi" as I was flying in this morning. Have a good day my dear friend.
Amicus - I must have missed something. Are you going somewhere? Can I come too?
IBB - You are so right about drinking water. I wish I felt thirsty so that I would remember to drink enough of the H2O. I thought buying a cold water dispenser would help but I still don't drink enough.
Ronnie - I don't find it easier to maintain my weight when I live alone. When I had the International students I always started every dinner with a healthy salad. I can't be bothered to make a salad for myself or even an entree. I usually end up eating a Weight Watchers' frozen dinner and then feeling sorry for myself.
I also tried those diet pills in the 70's. The doctors were giving them to all of us. I not only had the cleanest house in town but I was out playing tennis at 6 in the morning. They were so dangerous and we didn't even know it.
Yes I am getting pretty adept at computers. The only thing I am not learning is anything to do with myspace. They don't teach about that and I find it disappointing.
Goldie - you are really getting good at doing 50!!! Congrats.
Ronnie - smiling at you !!!
MEK ;)
Thank you...
MEK ;)
Thank you...
One for the smile, and one for those who saw the light.
Whabbear - I must have been asleep yesterday. Were you sick? I didn't read that or I would have written you. I am sorry.
Mek - I forgot to thank you for updating me on DWTS. I appreciated it. I think the wrong ones went home.
Goldie--
Congrats on 50...
Hope the workmen are fast today.. and it will be over soon..
Or better yet ..another short day...
Go home early and this spring day...
I am off to eat breakfast and watch Regis. "I will be back".
guess i'm dumb ..what light!!!
about this weight thing..
Before my husband moved me to AZ - I was on my journey with Weight Watchers - I had been SO successful - never having a gain and was POINT TWO POUNDS from my goal weight....... POINT TWO!! I was SO anal about counting my points, weighing my food, drinking my water and exercising...... I had the point thing down to a science........ I would take a 3 point snack to work (counted out my pretzels, cheese nips, whatever) and would put the little baggie next to my water bottle - I could NOT eat the snack until I had 7 1/2 cups of my water consumed for the day - the snack would be my 'reward' for drinking that water....... (I had quit pepsi and candy bars COLD TURKEY).
Hubby said - we're moving and I got depressed and the rest is history - I gained it all back and then some - now - I really need to get motivated...
Barb in WA got to see everything that my community has to offer me and I just need to get off my fat ass, off this computer and GET BUSY!!!!
:-)
I just got FOAD again.
Tink, Those things worked like magic, didn't they. Shoot, I didn't even mind doing the ironing, which I hated with a passion to the point I had a lady come in and iron for .10 a piece. Those were the days...
Now ibb, do you believe that I'm 98? lol
IBB - private email is on the way!! and - I'm jealous that your packages have arrived - I'm sure SacBarb and I will be waiting a couple of more days!!
Tinka - you are welcome!!
Ronnie - :-)
no Ronnie.. that was sarcasm...
it runs deep in my family!!!
I cant imagine that you are that much older than i...
turtle better wake up!!!
Besides.. they are just numbers..
My dear friend I lost in Jan. was 64 to my 47... but we never thought about the age difference...we were great friends !!!
Gotta get my chores done...bbl.
Now where is that doctor's #?
Probably dead by now, it's been 30 years ago...took too many little red and black pills.
do I dare try??!!
OMG- I just the loudest "DAMN" and looked out and the workmen are having a fit with the door across the hall. Bloody hell, I think the sawsall is coming back out!
Whab "saw the light?" I didn't know he was that ill....
Thanks MEK- I will never be as good as you- but this marching is fun.
marching
to
69 for turtle
75
Ronnie - dead by now - LOL - that is so true - doctors were ALWAYS older than yourself and NOW - you go to a new doctor and they don't look old enough to buy a drink.
hell ronnie got 69..I tried for you turtle!!!
Thank you, ibb, you're so sweet.
btw, that mermaid picture is really me, and was taken 3 mos. ago. lol
goldie .. you marching little fool...
Congrats on 75!!!
69 is good!!
Off to vacuum and check myspace.
They all look like Doogie Howser to me.
Ok, this is so crazy- they workmen just set off the alarm system- I need some of those drugs ronnie- did you stash any?????
Guess I will have to bake some more brownies.
Ibb- you are not the first to call me a fool!! LOL
I need to get something done around here.. it is afternoon already!!!!
oh my...
BBL...
Have a great day all....
Goldie .. it was said with love!!!
MEK~ just don't call them by a term of endearment like, HON, or Sweetie...they don't like that.
Really am going now.
Goldie~I do believe you can get those little red and black pills on the corner. The man selling them doesn't take Medical Insurance Cards or Visa, though. Gotta take cash.
Your Brownies would do the job, or better yet, 'work' the other corner.
Really, really am leaving now.
LOL @ ronnie. Gotta find me a street corner....
Goldie - be careful on that street corner - and DON'T wear that dress Mariah returned to you!!
Goldie~go ahead and 'claim' the corner and take some of the HoOwls with you. I'm sure you'll double your money if you make a sign saying that you're selling drugs AND love.
I'm gone...for sure!!!
this has been a VERY busy place this a.m. -
:-)
Ronnie - I don't like to be called hon or dear - so i would never call them that either!!
OH NO - HERE WE GO!!!
get ready!!!
SET
GO
running to the FOAD monster
what - did everyone suddenly go back to work!!
now - I'm all alone!!
running - all by myself
MEK: Thanks! When I'm not familiar with an area, choosing a hotel is what stresses me out the most. I still haven't made a decision about where we'll stay.
Tinka: I'm hoping to go to LA in August to see Les Miz in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets don't go on sale until this Saturday though so I'm still waiting to see if we can even get tickets.
97

YES - that NEVER gets old!!!
Way to go MEK- I was sending you an email and missed the march!
See, you get me one way or another..
LOL@ ronnie and MEk
Damn Mariah never did return the dress..
Now if I take Jodi and her boobs with me I may have a fighting chance on that corner!
Amicus: All's well that end's well! The pain went away overnight, and yesterday I was fine.
Thank-you, Audrey!
MEK: Sweetie, darling. Honey bunch.
OK, back to work, without any of Goldie's brownies. :(
Good morning to Everyone!
Mr. Z had to go in early to film a corporate movie. They are truly showing their employees how they treat their supervisors..as he didn't get home until 3am. I wonder if they want prospective management to see his tired red eyes? Here's to truth in hiring!! ;)
CPGEM: I struggle constantly with my weight and I always lose the struggle. Everyday I think this will be the day that I'll get a handle on it...but that handle slips through my fingers. If you learn the answer, please let me know.
*****DIANNE UPDATE*****
DIANNE is still in the hospital. She wanted me to tell you all that she had a busy day yesterday, as it was not only Teacher's Day..and Mr. D is a Professor..but it was Nurse's Day..and well, there was Matty to celebrate with too.
She's told me her infection is a little worse. And I think she is feeling blue and a bit frustrated.
She did want me to send her thoughts and prayers to all in the nest that are going through trying times or do not feel well..including..SCIRISH, DONNAJEAN, WHABBEAR, TINA and LYNND.
DIANNE: Please tell the doctors, and especially Matty, to let you rest so you can get better and rejoin us. Miss you!
Good morning guys & gals! This is my last day in Vega$. I should be packing, but wanted to drop by.
Amicus, his name is Eric Bergen. He did a fab. job!
Want2~congrats on "no" lol!
Welcome Sonia!
DJ~ {{{HUGS}} to both of you.
Goldie~ Where did the cute tush go?
Carol~ I took a big risk & didn't try on my bathing suit before packing! TG it still fit lol!! I teeter back & forth on weight. I need to move more to burn calories.
That being said.. I better get back to my packing.....
BTW...105...ALREADY??? Well, off to read the posts..see y'all in a while. THAT was for JOEY! ;)
Whabby - YES, darling, sweetie, honey bunch??!!

Happy Hump Day Owls.
Want: Not #1 again? Yessss! Congrats
Sonia: Welcome. I think you'll like it here. We are the friendly ones and we have no trolls and no drama. We like it that way.
Donna: So sorry your Laurie is sick again. Sending up healing prayers for her and resting prayers for you.
Goldie: ewwww. I will have to start sanitizing my keyboard.
IBB: No packages from QVC for me yet. :(
Zona: Thanks for the update on Dianne. You should be sleeping now.
Waving a wing to all who posted and all who will post after me. We have a very busy nest this am.
Carol: Another great topic and one about which I could write volumes. I will be back to address the blog topic in another post.
WANT2: Congrats on FIRST! Haven't I seen you here before just recently!! :)
WELCOME SONIA!
DONNAJ: I hope that Laurie Elizabeth feels better today. {{HUGS}} to you!
CPGEM: I found a different shade of Happy Blue to go along with the one you send me. His name is Matthew McConaughey. But he is only for emergencies. ;)
GRANDMA MOSES: 55 is NOT old!
GOLDIE: Not agian with the banging!!
EBJ: Mr.Z has the fridge stocked with soda..he lives on the stuff. It's there, so I drink it. This is my achilles heel. I am allergic to the sugar substitute in Diet soda, or I would drink that.
RGIRL: I've tried the 'don't buy it, don't eat it' strategy..seems there is always something else here though. I'd have to buy NOTHING! ;)
MEK: LOL at you grabbing 24 and 25! Don't you think with all the marching we do, we should all be svelte? ;)
AMICUS: How are you doing today?
TINKA: Hi Cybermom!! You look beautiful today!
WHABBEAR: Glad to hear you are doing better!
MARY/MI: Have a safe trip.
BARB/WA: Hope you are safe from the coffee lady today!
VIG: THANK YOU!! Lovin' the eye openers this morning!
SACBARB: I actually went to sleep with Mr. Z..so I am bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning!!
MEK: You're a marching enabler!! LOL! ;)
Good morning, Zona, Mary/MI, and SacBarb!
This nest IS busy this morning! It must be because we all feel guilty about our weight!
Zona: Thanks for the update on Dianne. I was hoping she would be home today. :(
I have struggled with weight almost all my life and my closet contains about 8 different sizes of clothes. In March of 2007, my son and his SO set a wedding date for Feb 2008. I decided that I didn't want to be the FAT mom in the pics so I joined Jenny Craig and wanted to lose 60 lbs. I was very successful and lost about one lb. almost every week. It was slow, but I was very motivated. By Dec. 1, I had lost almost 40lbs. and was very happy.
Then I was diagnosed with a condition that required me to take Prednisone. I begged the doc to give me something else to no avail. By the wedding date I had gained back 12 lbs. and now I am almost 18 lbs. up and very depressed about it. I am struggling to not gain back everything. I only have to take the Prednisone for a year, but I could weigh 800 lbs by then.
I am still going to JC and my consultant is very compassionate and has helped me a lot. I will continue my struggle and just hope I will still be able to get through the door after the year is up.
Sorry, I wrote a novel. This is a subject near and dear to my heart and I got carried away.
HowdyDoDee Owls!
I'm not fat..
I'm a pleasantly plump butterball waiting to be stuffed and basted.
Delicious!
Carol it's a never ending struggle.I think that hurdle is set for us when we are born. **sigh**
I've come to the conclusion, that it really doesn't matter if I'm a plus or a size 2 ( pfft like that will ever happen)
It's how I feel that is important.
The happier I am the easier it is for me to lose or maintain weight.
The more burdened I am the more I gain.
Never ending roller coaster ride.
Zona: So glad you are up in the daylight.
Dianne: You are just staying in the hospital to get more Matty. You can't fool me. We need you here!
Hi Whabby~ Again, I am sooo near to you and yet sooo far! I am sandwiched between you, Tina, SacBarb, Zona, MEK, Diane & Seaside!
Has anyone ever sat up in bed and remembered something? I did last night! I remembered someone in the nest asking me a few days ago , my favorite place to stay here in Vegas. I don't think I answered! How rude LOL! Anyway here is my answer.
It used to be the Stardust Casino until they tore it down! It was like home to us. We knew most employees by name as they did us. We have been staying at various hotels, trying to find the right "fit". We have decided on the Venetion. It has everything we enjoy incl. wonderful lounge shows. Sorry I was late in answering.
Good Day Everyone! I'm off to a late start today and have just caught up with MS mail and your posts. Couldn't begin to address them all so I won't even try.
Oh, Carol, can I relate!! If it's slim and trim you're after, I have two words of advice: DON'T RETIRE!!. Weight has always been a struggle, but I've gained probably 12-15 pounds over the course of this winter hibernation and being home next to the kitchen 24/7.
Thanks Zona for another Dianne update. Dianne, be well SOON!
Whabbear~~First, good to hear you're healing. I was worrying yesterday, and I'm not a worrier. Saw your Area 51 post. WELCOME!!! It's the GawdAwful state of the country and my memory of 1968's events (Bobby's death and the Democratic Convention debacle) that have me worried this year....but I did say I'm not a worrier, right?
I have TONS to do today, but I'll try to keep up with you all. Have a great day!
120!
Welcome to the NEST Sonia.
(((DonnaJean)))Hopin u get some rest n Laurie is feeling better.
GrandmaM-Celebrate 55!
You're a red hatter. It's your time to do all the crazy n silly things u always wanted to do but didn't.Now u have an excuse,"The Red Hat Society made me do it".hehe
EBJ--My hub is a sugar n munchie addict. It's difficult to watch him chowdown and not partake.
Ronnie--LOL,Funny how things change eh, going from black n white pills to brownies with the munchies as a side effect.
Mek--LMAO@push up days.
I learned something new today, "hon".hehe
Hello again everyone!
I think I got about 45 minutes of sleep before it all started again!
I want to thank you all ~Want2~Carol~grandma moses~whabbear~Amicus~IBB~
~ronniegirl~Tinka~MEK~Zona~ and ~SacBarb for all your hugs, prayers and thoughts for Laurie to feel better and for both of us to get some rest.
Guess what, I'm not even tired anymore! But I know it will hit me this afternoon. And Laurie won't sleep either, so I know she has to be totally exhusted.
I was just thinking, ever since January when Laurie was in the hospital, all my comments and posts have been mainly all about depressing things. Laurie's illness, her tests, my depression etc. I am so TIRED of only talking about those things. I read all of your funny comments back and forth to each other, and I just can't seem to join in.
All of you from the other Blog must remember when I first started posting last June. I was happy, joked around, sometimes brought up controversial subjects, but it was always FUN!
I want to get back to that time. And I will, I just know it.
I just don't want to bring anyone down, or think that I am trying to elicit sympathy. I do want you all to know, though, that I care so much about each and every one of you and appreciate all the kindness and support you have all given to both myself and Laurie.
So, I am going to try so very hard only to comment about cheerful and happy things.
I know that will be difficult at times, since Laurie is still waiting for her MRI and then surgery, but that is my goal!
So onward and upward! Positive thoughts. Happy thoughts.
And Jason better get voted off AI tonight or I am suing Fox for Breach of Promise of "The Best Season So Far" and "The Best Singers We Have Ever Auditioned"!!!! Anyone want to join me in a Class Action suit????
Many prayers and hugs to Dianne in the hospital. Get better real soon, sweetie!
Well, off to wash more laundry, and yes there are clothes in the washer, and towels, not just "water"! LOL
Peace and Love to All,
DonnaJean and Laurie Elizabeth
Dianne-Bring Maddy back to the nest with you pls.
Sharin is Carin!Miss u.
LynnD--? News. Hope today is a better day for u.
SacBarb--Do u like to swim?
Prednisone and swimming r a good combination. My brother was on pred. for years (asthma) and swimming helped him keep the weight and bloat down.
Tina-- APOLLO--hot n bothered is an understatement... Pitter patter... what sweet dreams I had.
It has been so busy here today, I'm having trouble catching up.
Want Congrats on #1 again.
Carol Great blog for today.
DonnaJean I'm so sorry that you've been up all night with poor Laurie Elizabeth. I hope things have calmed down and you're both able to get some rest.
Dianne I'm sorry to hear that you're not ready to bounce out of that hospital bed yet. Please get better soon. We all miss you.
I wish I could magically lose another 50 lbs quickly but that isn't going to happen. I have lost 25 lbs since sometime in Aug. just by limiting (not eliminating) the amount of white carbs I eat. For dinner I have meat and vegetables. If I go out to dinner I eat whatever I feel like. I don't feel like I'm depriving myself this way. It's just a different way of eating than what I used to do. Once in a while I really want a pasta so I have it. I find the Dreamfields low carb pasta is good. Although I'm the kind of person who has to be up for hours before I have an appetite, it's good if I can get myself to at least eat a little cup of applesauce. Eating actually kick starts your metabolism. If you don't eat, your body thinks there's a food shortage and starts conserving fat for survival. Supposedly, working out a few times a week with some light weights, burns more calories than treadmills, so I'm doing that, too.

Sorry!!! I did not mean to post twice. Not sure how that happened. Plus, I forgot to say welcome to Sonia.
(((DonnaJean)))
and btw, (((((Myanmar)))). Upwards of 100,000 dead now?
Mary: Since the role is so vocally demanding, there are always 2 Frankie's in every cast so that's why I was curious which one you got to see. In Vegas, Rick Faugno is the lead Frankie doing the 7:00pm shows and Joseph Leo Bwarie is the alternate Frankie doing the 10:00pm shows. Erich Bergen is playing the role of Bob Gaudio.
Zona: I'm doing great - thanks! :)
Whabbear: Glad you woke up feeling better.
Fly-By Alert!! I feel so overwhelmed y'all trying to get ready for my NY trip! lol
I'm still happy, but just a lot to do!!!!!

Amicus, you are right. I went to the 7:00 show.Rick & Eric's pics(playbill) through me a little. I loved the Danny DeVito connection!
I'm signing off for now. We have a 1:00 check-out. We don't head for the

Safe travels Joey!
Diane~ Prayers, that you will heal soon!
Bon~ It is heart breaking beyond belief. I hope they allow the U.S to help.
Lovey: Sadly, I never learned how to swim. I know, how could that be? Well, it just is! Anyway, I have a stationary bike and I try to ride it as much as I can each day. It's the best thing I can do with my knees the way they are.
YAY!!!! MY NEW CRICUT CARTRIDGE THAT I ORDERED YESTERDAY WAS SHIPPED TODAY!!!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
SACBARB: Come visit..I'll teach you to swim. I've had Red Cross training!
BARB/WA: LOL!!
Grandma Moses
The birthday in reality is just one more day. However I do recall Dr_Dan calling you a GILF. In a more polite way of saying things ..You are very beautiful.
Carol
Don't starve yourself. Blogger JTMusic lost 100 lbs on a high fiber diet.a friend of mine used the Cabbage soup diet and lost 60 lbs. The high fiber foods are a great diet and it keeps a person full..such as apples, oatmeal, low cal soups, broccoli, flax seed and lots of water.Cheerios is also 1 gram of carbs and 1 gram of sugar.
Hi Downey.
DonnaJean why doesn't her doctor offer her zofran. It's generic now. I keep a prescription of it available in my refrig at all times just in case because vomitting for 3-4 days is no fun. One of my friends is a pharmacist and she gives me more information than most doctors. I have to learn it all myself. It should be the doctors jobs but any more doctors just herd patients in and don't even tell them about Tamiflu,Zofran, etc. and items that people really should keep handy. I realize some people may not be able to diagnose the flu and some people may not be healthy so those don't apply of course.Zofran has no side effects though and plenty of benefit because its the only prescription that truly does its job.
Ok, I only got to comment #20. Sorry. That buy a pet as a friend on Myspace crashed my computer so I'm on my laptop until it's fixed.Hopefully all of my controls are now in place. I got the new friends requests but won't be adding them until I get Myspace fixed with all the captchas, phishing and trojan blocks etc. Ugh!
Bear
I was leaving and saw you. Hope you are feeling better.
Geez, has Mr. R had another tirade about posts? I'm always out of the loop because I just skim a few comments and some days none. This week none due to company.
MEK....I feel like I'm trying to compete with you in regards to craft purchases! I just spent another $50 online on supplies! Bad Barbie....
Barb in WA - what did you buy now??!! Glad your cartridge shipped!!!
I LOVE being the enabler!!!
:-)
Good Barbie!!!
Zona: I almost drowned when I was in the 4th grade and my mother thought it was time for me to have swim lessons. She was finally advised by the swim instructor that I was a hopeless case and would never learn. I made sure that ny kids all started lessons by the time they were 4 years old. I didn't want them to go through what I did. But thanks for the offer.
Mek- go answer my email....

I did it! I think I threw her off the scent of the hunt..... LOL
SACBARB: I'm so sorry that happened to you. It's one of my biggest fears. Invitation to visit is still open though, always. :)
GOLDIE: WOW!! You just swooped in there, banging and all! Congrats on 150!
Thanks Zona.
Zona- I think it might be temporary but the banging has ceased for a little while. However, right outside my window is where they have their truck and equipement set up, and there is no signs that they are packing it in for the day.
And these new doors and closures? They are heavier and harder to push open, but you better pay attention when they close. I almost got a doorknob up my ass when I went out to go to the potty! Going to have to have that adjusted for sure.
GOLDIE: Beware the overzealous doorknob! Enjoy your solitude..however long it may last!
SACBARB: :)
Goldie I just recieved a message on my answering machine:
Guido:I am accepting the job "hit on QuickDraw MaMek's trigger finger.

Hopeless isn't in my vocabulary.

Baking brownies- lots!!!

Lovey: Uncle Guido is usually expensive, but I get the family discount. However, I hate to see my friends harmed. Isn't there another way?
Hi Y'all,
Didn't get to vacuum and dust cause I played too long here and had a mani/pedi appt., and of course that was more important.
Guido contracts, Lovey getting messages on her answering machine, Sacbarb and Mek don't swim, Goldie enjoying a doorknob up her ass...have I missed anything else?
mayb I need a new outfit.
I'm gonna look for some ARMOR
Did they hurt you, Lovey?
Keep that number handy.

Poop- I was 176
MEK: Congrats on 1-69 and where is Turtle?
pretty much sums it up Ronnie!
You will never guess what sat next to me in the footbath thing...a man who shaves his legs. I've never seen that before. I guess that's better than the last time I was in there and that man came in there wanting a bikini wax.lol
Ronnie yes they always do...
they swoop in and blow me outta the nest
Maybe he was going to sit in an Owl Hot Tub with a drink....lol
Isn't that just so rude????
SacBarb....thank goodness for family discounts... he's not gonna hurt her, just her damn trigger finger..LOL
Poor Mek~~Not only does she have to watch out for snakes, black widow spiders, but now Guido.
Did MEK do her march and then run?
LMAO @ man n bikini wax, those words just don't seem to go together
