i am having a issue with my weight
i can't seem to get a control on my
eating, i feel like a bottomless pit
it just seems i am always hungry
try as i might, the hunger stays with
me, each day i wake and tell myself
it is going to be a good day, i will
control my food intake, by 1pm
all bets are off
just not really sure what happen
i did have it under control, my weight
was stable, and i was able to stay away
from foods that just seemed to add
the pounds on
it has been since christmas 07 that
i have lost the control, and definitely
gained weight
so now i am starving myself
i know that is not good, but i have
to do something
summer is approaching and i just
don't want to be that poor beached
whale lying on the jersey shore beach
i know i am me, and i will always
be a plus size, however i just need
to gain that control back
i have put myself in this position
before, so it is happening again,
and i allowed it to do so
oh boy, just another issue to deal
with, i just want to attack this issue
this minute, and i know i can't as
this is going to take a while
wish me luck

DonnaJean: I feel the same way it has been one medical thing after another for me this last 7 or 8 months.
Speaking of... Went to the dentist and I have the dreaded dry socket ( that sounds so obscene) and possibly an infection starting. Let me tell you I would rather do natural child birth again than have this dry socket.
They packed it today and I have to go back tomorrow and Friday to have it checked and repacked. Not fun. The dentist irrigated it with some nasty tasting crap and it felt like he went to my jaw bone. I about came out of the chair and choked him with his face mask!!!
He actually was a very nice guy and I could tell he felt bad for me. His nurse thought I was a riot!
The doctor (funny guy) actually said this is painful isn't it??? I said to him yeah about like getting your testicles squeezed with a vise! That is when the nurse fell in love with me.
Anyway Antibiotics and more painkillers, I am a walking stew of drugs!
Nauseated and tired. Tho he did tell me to make sure I eat!
See Carol I have a true medical reason why I need to lose 60 pounds!

lynn, oh poor baby, I have had the dreaded dry socket and natural childbirth (twice)- and natural childbirth is easier. So sorry- take those drugs and just take it easy. Gives me the hebbie geebies just thinking about it.

Lynn, when I had my wisdom teeth pulled I was so worried about getting a dry socket. ugh you poor thing.

Yeah this is really pretty painful.
Justlin: I did not know what one was before either. I know now. Evidently it is when the socket the tooth is pulled from evidently totally dries out and causes let me tell you a horrible aching pain.
I will confess I was crying yesterday and that is so not like me.
Ok just took a fresh pain pill so I will be dozing away here in a few.

Oh Lynn, I really feel for you! I know all about dry socket. Were you drinking with a straw? That's a No No and so is smoking, but I don't know if you smoke or not.
Anyway, however you got it, I am so very sorry! But through all that pain your sense of humor never failed! I love it!
And I sure know what you mean about this being such a tough beginning of the year for both of us, and many others, what with the flu, and pneumonia and such! I can honestly say this has been one of the toughest years my family and I have endured since my husband died. I can't wait to see 2008 end!!!

Like everyone has said, keep taking the meds and pain killers. And maybe a shot or two to wash them down with! I wish I could give Laurie a couple shots to make her sleep!!! NO NO NO, I wouldn't do that, no worries, Tinka!!!
Laurie still won't sleep! Still throwing up, but is peeing, and she has been drinking a bit of GatorAde for the electrolytes, so I am not too worried about
de-hydration just yet.
I can give her Meclizine for the nausea. It seemed to work for about an hour or so, then whoa, did she let the old bucket have it! Says she feels better now that she threw up so much. We'll see how long that lasts.
I gave her some lime jello a little bit ago, (just a spoonful) and we'll see how it goes.
~Dreama~ thanks for the info about Zofran. I Googled it, and it is mostly used for cancer patients undergoing chemo. And some of the side effects are trouble with breathing and slow heart rate. I don't think I would want to try it on Laurie right now, with her heart issues. But thanks for the info, I really appreciate it!

Lynn D If anything can make me cry, it's the dentist. I can endure tremendous pain from any other source but not from the dentist!
I know you aren't supposed to smoke after getting a tooth pulled, but I used to light up immediately in the parking lot, even with bloody gauze in my mouth. A smoker really needs that cigarette after being at the dentist. I don't smoke anymore so I'm not sure what I would want. A nice frosty margarita, maybe. :)
I don't think I understand how the socket can dry out when it's in your mouth.
WTF???? I posted an answer to J/L and its not there.....

Damn what a rushed, hectic, and stressed filled day here at work.
But the damn cruise ship will sail on Friday if it breaks every one of our backs!

Just like SacBarb I was put on a steroid after back surgery...something called Dekatron which is apparently alot more intense then predisone....when I awoke and found I was paralyzed from the waist down (temporarily) I freaked the hell out. They put me on this drug to reduce the swelling around the nerves....8 days later when I was transferred to a Rehab hospital and they weighed me in (the day of surgery I was 159 lbs) I weighed 185lbs!!! WTH! You don't notice that stuff layin down in a hospital gown. 9 Days later when I got released from Rehad (I was supposed to be in there for 12 weeks...lol, boy am I stubborn) I got weighed again and I was 214 WTF!!!!!! I did not fit into any of my clothes.
Can you say I was just a wee bit pissed off? Over the course of the next year after being taken off the drug I lost about 35 of it...then I got complacent because of nerve damage that caused Drop foot and no feeling below both knees. I finally got so fat again (returning to about 210) that I started my version of working out and was quite successful, getting down to about 176.
This last year I have gotten complacent again and need to get back on it.
So like many of you I fluctuate, but bottom line I am me and well never be skinny no matter what.
So when Tina gets here I will play the beached whale...lol

Lynn: I know it won't take the pain away but a big {{HUG}} for you.
Just Lin: A tooth socket becomes dry when the blood clot is missing. The clot protects the bone and nerves from being exposed to air, liquids, etc. The two things Donna Jean mentioned are considered no-no's, because both can cause the blood clot to be sucked out of the socket.
IBB I just finished watching Idol too. I wish they'd cut it down to a 1/2 hour show again. Too much filler! :)

A big Thank You to Joey for the Idol Spoiler tonight! It saved me from watching the crappy hour long show. I turned it on with less then 10 minutes to go to see the poor kicked off Idol wanna-be. I won't spoil it for those who have not watched, but I will say that I will miss the person kicked off. I liked them. Oh well. I knew they were gonna go. Thank god for the video of them that I downloaded on my iTunes so that I can watch them over and over and over again! LOL!
So instead of watching Idol, I watched the DVR I had of Ghost Hunters. Can I just say OMFG!!! They recorded the voice of a ghost talking back to them! Soooooooo freaky! If my Miss Mary ever spoke to me I would crap my pants! I seriously got choked up and teary eyed listening to the woman ghost talk to them. It was all on recording, they could not hear her in the room. They asked if she was in the room and she said "Of course I am. Where are you?" OMG!!!! Kinda scared me I must say!
Well.....looks like everyone went to bed early tonight. So nite nite all!
