This Night Owl Blog has given so much! It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"! We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly. And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :) It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

Round and Round
i am extremely burnt out, i feel
as if i am going round and round
with no straight lines ahead of me
wherever i start i go around, only
to go back around
make sense?
there is just to much to do, life
is just so demanding, and in between
all this i have my parents to take
care of, not the physical being of
them, its the mental part, that
requires me to be there for them
after i long day at work, using all my
mental capabilities i have to then
make sure all dad's paperwork, banking
doctors appt's etc are all done and in order
it is so strange how many years ago
they both took so good care of me, they
gave me the tools to be who i am, and
now as it always happens in life the
tables have turned, and i now have
to take care of them
i love them dearly, and will do what needs
to be done for as long as it takes, i would never
leave them at this point, as the need for me
to be here is just to strong
so i go on my "merry go round" daily
only to wake the next day, and start all
over again!
some say life is a good ole
"merry go round" i used to chuckle
at that statement, and now i know
exactly what they meant
i am making myself dizzy :O)

Carol, you're the best !
Good morning everyone!
CPGEM: I was once where you are now. I was working in California and flying back and forth to help my mom and dad. When my dad died, we moved to AZ to take care of my mom. You DO get burned out. As much as you love your parents, you get tired. I think it is very important to make time for yourself to decompress. Truth be told though, I wish I was back on that Merry-Go-Round right now.
Morning WANT2..congrats on FIRST!
*******
DIANNE wanted to thank everyone for all the messages and comments on Myspace and here. She is reading and enjoying all the blog topics and comments as well. She also had a couple of messages she wanted posted..
SHIRLEY: Please don't change your avatar, as it represents YOU.
IBB: I am so happy Mr. IBB and your MIL are all right.
MEK: There is snow in Colorado right now..if you want to visit!
END OF DENVER TRANSMISSION!! ;)

Zona- thanks for the Dianne news. Flapping a wing at her!

Hi Zona!
Carol: That was a great description! I have been riding the Merry go Round to lately. It seems I am bogged down with life and it just resumes where I left off the day before.
Kudos to you for taking care of your parents. You are a wonderful and caring daughter! (((Hugs)))
I was awol most of yesterday. I have to take Mr. Lynn D to his ride share in a bit and it looks like I have to do the food pick up for the foodbank alone today. So I will be back later.
I did want to say from area 51:
IBB: I am so glad your MIL made it through surgery and is doing well!
Thank goodness Mr. IBB kept his cool after the collision with the deer! Scary!!!
Zona and Shirley: I stumbled on to the M and M's website. I wanted to price how much the special personalized message ones cost. Never did find that out. Anyway they had a section where you could create your M and M image of yourself.
So that is me!!! Get your mind out of the gutter I picked green because it is my favorite color! LMAO
Joey Welcome back it sounds like you had a great time!!
Kgirl: I need a vacation so bad I am thinking of swimming to Hawaii to see you! LOL
Ok be back later my friends.
JODI: I saw your shout out in Area 51..I was off the computer..can you believe it?? I actually made a really good dinner for Mr. Z, who came home early with a seperated rib and went straight to bed. :( Anyone want some Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken and Curry Rice?? I'll throw in the double fudge brownies...;)
ITEACH: Very close...;)
GOLDIE: LOL @ 10...Congrats to you!! :)
LYNND: Let's get a kayak!! LOL! Gotcha..fave color green..;)!!!
Let's see, if we leave now we should make it to Hawaii by, well, we will all be dead.
Sad, but true. I guess I'll take a plane.

couldn't resist
Hey hooters!
It's a beautiful morning here!
Congrats Want2 for being first!
Carol, you have a full plate. Caring for your parents plus running a business. Where is the time for yourself?
I think you should come to the BABB for a little break!
IBB & MEK, are you AMAZED at who the Bachelor picked?
Gee, what a shocker.
He and the 2 girls must have said AMAZING at least 50 times. My huz was cracking up. Even while he was falling asleep during the show, he'd start laughing when he would hear AMAZING, sometimes twice in one sentence!
Shirley, I'm so spoiled now, I'll wait for your breakfast!
EBJ - I was AMAZED!!! - had to go to the ABC message boards to get my answer - but I was NOT surprised!!
I was watching "Medium" - which was AMAZING last night!! I agree with Amicus - glad they came full circle last night and the show will be back on track next season!
:-)
24
25 for GOldie!!
Good Morning Want2sleep -first again, My Zonababy - 3 minutes from being first, Goldie who is spinning like a whirlpool, Lynn who is bogged down, and Mek who I think is starting her trek to Hawaii or somewhere cool. You all seem so busy.
I feel like I have been on a merry-go-round since I started juggling work with raising children until now when I am helping to look after my elderly mother and my young grandchildren while my kids work. Going round and round on the merry-go-round is now a way of life. Are we not called the "Sandwich Generation" for that reason? I am fine with it until I get overtired and then I just want to get off and hide in bed for a few days. I guess our lives would be lonely if there were no merry-go-round but everyone needs respite at some point.
Dianne - I am so happy you are getting better. I miss you.
VIG - Please hurry home. I miss you too.
Zona - I am off to read my mail. I want to hear more about Mr. Z's separated rib.
Carol: Wow... same issue comes up again! My parents are now 77 and 87 years old, and health issues crop up all the time. How do you support them from 2000 miles away? How do you work to ensure that the sibling (my sister) who does live nearby isn't unfairly burdened? How do you work around the fact that my parents chose to live three hours away even from my sister?
And how to deal with that inevitable point in the (near?) future where they can no longer live unassisted?
Whab, my parents are both in their 70s. They are still very active, travel all the time and we hardly get to see them because they are always gone.
But, I know the time may come when they will be dependent on me, since my 2 brothers both live far away (one is in Germany, the other in New Jersey).
Our new house is big enough for them, and we have a room we call "their room". If needed, we would move them in here. We have told my huz's mom the same thing.
Right now, they all say no way, but the time may come when they need our help. So we will take care of them.
Good Morning Whabbear - All such great questions. It's so easy to be overcome with guilt when we feel we aren't doing enough to help our aging parents. It's a problem that is not easy to solve. One just has to accept the fact that you are doing the best you can. I feel guilty that I am not doing more and I am in the same city doing as much as I am able.
I forgot to mention that my mom an dad live about an hours drive from me!
East Bay J - I always thought my mother would live with me when she couldn't live alone. The problem is she needs round the clock care. We tried keeping her home and she wouldn't call us when she needed to get up in the night. (She didn't want to bother us and we couldn't convince her otherwise.) After she broke both hips by falling in the night the doctor said she needed to be somewhere where someone was up all night to help her. It broke my heart to put her in "Care". She said she thought she "had been put out to pasture". It is a major dilemma, one I will never get over.
Judy and Audrey: I know, these are just gut-wrenching decisions! Audrey's posted before about how weird it is to watch your parents transition from care givers to care takers.
At least you guys are in the same country as your parents! That would present another barrier for me... I couldn't just "move" them in with me even if I had the room.
Ahhh, how complex life is, and gets!
And let's not even go into how those of us who are going to grow old without children will handle it! Yikes!
Tink, I do understand about caring for a parent that needs more than we could give. I guess we cross that bridge when and if it comes. I know they would not want to burden us and there is no way we could be full-time caregivers and also work.
Whab, we wonder the same thing as you. We have no kids, so who will take care of us? I guess we need a Night Owls Retirement Home!
My Avator today is my Mom and my very tall, handsome nephew. My Mom has the first stages of Parkinsons Disease and spots in her vision caused by mini strokes. She always needs my help. My Dad spent 26 years in the military and he was a very tough guy before bad health entered his life. He has now had 3 major operations and I can feel how much it bothers him to depend on me at times. Such is life. We all were the children and as life goes on we become the parents and our parents become our children. My parents even fuss sometimes as soon as I walk into the door. I give them a time out. LOL
Good morning all.
Grandma Moses
Thank you so much for the e-mail. Have fun in Atlantic City.
want Congrats on being #1 today.
Carol Very thoughtful blog today. Your parents are very lucky to have you there to help them. I know it isn't easy and can be draining of your time as well as mentally and emotionally. You need a plan to help you get away once in a while. My mom just turned 80 recently and is starting to slow down. I'm fortunate that my brother is there to help her.
dreama LOL that you give your parents a time out!
congrats on 1st want2!
carol....you need a break. just a little one. take a long weekend and go to a beach and just sit. read a book maybe. just go. everyone needs to take time out for themselves. i keep telling my mom the same thing. she has something like over 200 vaca hours at work that she has not taken. they are now asking her to take off thursdays so that she can have a break. she could never trust people at work to do what needed to be done, but now there are new people there and she trusts them more, so she is taking the time off. do the same carol.
have a great day everyone!
~barb~
Bear and EBJ - There are a lot of patients in the Care Home who have children that never ever visit them even at Christmas. I think having children is no guarantee. You are both such loving people I am sure you, when the time comes, years and years from now, will have some one to care for you. That's what we all hope for. Maybe with all the advancement we have made extending life, we may all be still going on cruises when we are 120.
I am going to take a break. Shirley didn't bring me a Slim Fast so I guess I will have to dig into my own supply. It was fun talking to you on myspace today Shirley. You haven't made it to the nest yet. See you this afternoon.
Have fun today little owls.
40 :)
Dianne - I am so excited. I just answered you on myspace that I didn't receive whatever you sent, went upstairs to get the mail and there was the present and card from you. You are right. It's not late. I have one more tea party with VIG next week.
Thank you so much for the Jewelry clasps. I can't believe you remember that comment I made so long ago on the other blog that the only reason I would get married again would be for someone to fasten my necklaces. Now you have sent me magnetic jewelry clasps and I never have to worry again. I really thought it was a silly reason to get married but I was getting desperate with doing up my necklaces. NEVER AGAIN thanks to you. You are a sweetheart.
I looked for them here and could never find them. Now you get better really quickly and we will go on a cruise. I will bring all my jewelry. Love, Tinka
Good day OWLETTES!!!

oh... to the topic at hand...I struggle every day being sooo far from my mom... I worry that my sister is having to much stress on her having to do it all....i wish we lived closer so we could "TagTeam" momma...
But momma chose to live there!!!
Afternoon Owls.
Carol, weeeee round n round we go :o)
Ty for today's blog it took me down memory lane.
You are doing the best you can and that's all you can do....but..... at the same time you must look after you too.
If you "burn out" your parents would have no one. It's very important for you to take time for you.
Reach out and ask for help when you need it.
I turned to community organizations that provided respite.
Even if it was just for a few hours while I wanted some peace of mind time to sit and get my hair & nails done.
Or maybe to fill in as driver to a doctors appointment or to do the groceries once a week.
It helped me ALOT!
It gave me the energy to keep going round n round :o)
One day that merry go round stops and ya jump right back on another lol.. That's life!
Weeeeee, all aboard,
Ty for your kind words in yesterdays blog Carol.
Zona and Bon~SWAK!!Thanks bunches, I missed you too.
It's a gorgeous day today, and the sunshine is calling me.. listen.. shh... do ya hear it....
Loveyyyyyy come out to play:o)
Wishing everyone a terrific Tuesday.

Good Morning/Afternoon my Lovely Owls and Owlettes!
Terrific Blog today Carol. Although I have no living parents, my BF Angela does. They just celebrated their 90th and 87th birthdays, and still live alone. Angela does go over there several days a week after work, spends Saturday's taking them to the Santa Anita Racetrack for the races and out to lunch! They are still quite active, going to Senior Citizen dances etc, and insist she doesn't need to "baby" them, but she can tell how much easier it is for them to have her be there. And her Mom, has had several heart episodes, and cannot fully remember if she has taken all her pills, some of which must be taken at different times of the day.
I know most of you are going through these same issues with your parents. When my Dad was alive, he lived in Southern California and I live in Northern California, so, whenever he had a problem (which turned out to be quite often near the end), I would travel down there to help him out. And this was very hard to do because of the relationship we had. If he had been a more caring and loving father, I would probably have re-located for a few months just to be near him. As I have mentioned before, though, when he did pass away, I had forgiven him for all the past, and I felt at peace. And I know he did too.
Now, I am thinking about myself. And which of the daughters will need to take care of me! And they will have Laurie also to take of. Of course, this is all in the
far away future, as I am still a "spring chicken" (or "spring owlette")! but I do worry about it, because anything could happen in a moment's notice, as IBB can attest to with her husband's recent run-in with the deer! That accident could have had a totally different outcome. I am so happy that he is OK.
So, us Baby Boomers are "The Sandwich Generation" as Tinka mentioned. No wonder the majority of us are seeing therapists and taking anti-depressants!
In the past, it was just assumed that Grandma and Grandpa would come and live with the family when they turned a certain age. Now, many seniors are still active and travelling the world! Good for them!
But, I do feel for all of you who are torn between taking care of your own immediate family and your parents. I salute all of you! It is certainly no easy task.
As for those of you without children, I guess the answer would be to start loking around and find a fun "Active Senior Living" place near wherever you would like to retire. Whabbear, I know for you and Huz, there must be lots of wonderful places in Palm Springs! I kind of envy you, that is a great place to retire to!
On a different note, AI tonight! I wonder how Little David will fare with his father not being able to be backstage. It's about time if you ask me! I hope he does really well, and does become the next AI! I know, I'm in the minority on that one, but just think, he needs some real guidance, and growing up, and he will also be a great role model for the younger kids.
David Cook is AWESOME! He will do just fine on his own, and probably have a better record deal in the long run, anyway. As you can tell, I am not expecting Syesha to win, although I think she will be great on Broadway!
Well, I have my grandkids here today, and Laurie is feeling much better, and I promised them McDonald's, so I better go for now.
Have a great afternoon everyone, and I'll fly in later and see what's been happening!
Peace and Love, DonnaJean
O.K.... In my opinion...they are stirring all this stuff up to get people to vote for little david... they know how the vote has been for the last few weeks.. and they want the little guy to win....
All this crap in the news... will davids father cost him the title... it is a ploy to get everyone to vote for poor little david....
if they want to have control over the outcome... they shouldn't give the american puplic the illusion that we are actually deciding the vote!!!
But that is just my opinion!!!!
So .. ladies... dialing fingers ready for Mr. Cook!!!!!!
thanks!!!!!!!!!!
Lovey!!!!
Thanks.... You know why!!!!!!

Whabby - you bring up a VERY good subject - what will those of us that DIDN'T have kids DO, when WE need to be taken care off???
I often tell Mr. MEK that the biggest mistake we made was NOT having at least one - to make miserable in our old age!! LOL
EJB - I love the idea of an Owl's Retirement Nest!!!
IBB - YES, our mother CHOSE to move here - and YES, sometimes the stress of it just gets to be WAY overwhelming!! BUT - I would rather have the stress of "putting up with her" than the alternative!!
Vet visit went well for both animals... (want2 will love this) - vet refered to our Bailey as our "little end table" - and we joked about my kitty - she must have some really GOOD genes - cuz she's a skinny cat - I have NEVER in my whole life - owned a skinny cat!!!
Weather here today - overcast and windy!! :-)
I'm going to go enjoy my "babies" -
Hope everyone is having an excellent day!!
:-)
Funny - IBB...
OH - and about American Idol!!
I'll have my dialing fingers and thumbs ready!!

Good Afternoon Owls!
I saw something this morning that warmed my heart and kept me smiling today. :) I was on my way to a dentist appointment when I hit a traffic jam. I couldn't figure out why cars were stopping for no apparent reason until I saw a fireman chasing the cutest little Boston Terrier.
The poor fireman, bless his heart, was drenched, because it was raining hard. He even got down on his knees and tried to trick her into thinking he had food in his hand. She would come close, but the minute he would reach for her, she would take off running from him again.
I watched for a few minutes until it became apparent he wasn't going to catch her by himself. I got out of my car and was planning on approaching her from the opposite direction in hopes it would cause her to run towards him. When I said something to the fireman though, the dog responded to my voice and came running up to me like she had known me all her life.
I picked her up and jokingly said to the fireman, "She's obviously a Mama's Girl." :) What warmed my heart the most though was finding out he didn't even know the dog or the owner. Here was this big, burly fireman running around in the rain trying to catch someone else's dog to keep her from getting hit by a car. Fortunately, she had tags on her collar so he was going to take her home too. What an incredibly sweet man!!! Every time I think about what I saw this morning, I can't help but smile. :)
Carol: I agree with what others have said about how important it is to make time for yourself. Unfortunately, I'm sure that's easier said than done. I wish I had some words of wisdom that would help, but I've not been in that situation so I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be at times. Big ((Hugs)) for you.
Waving Hi to everyone!
CAROL - Great blog!!! And kudos for all you do for your parents. But I agree.....you must take some time for yourself!!
Thankfully my Dad is still relatively young (71), lives in the house I grew up in and is only a 8 minute drive from me. I just wish he could find a great woman to share the rest of his life with. My Mom has been gone for 8 years now, and I just think he is too set in his own ways now. The only thing that I worry about is the fact that he is lonely. He just told me the other day that he is planning a trip to the Pacific NW in late summer, then up to Canada. I had to laugh and get the atlas out.....I said "look we could do the Blog Buddy Tour!!!"
Waving a wing at the HOMEK sisters!! And I agree with IBB....I think they are TOTALLY drumming up votes for Little David!! Looking forward to the show tonight.......lol @ getting your dialing fingers and thumb ready MEK!!!
Here we go!!!

Hi, afternoon hooters!
Amicus, what a wonderful story! Thanx for sharing!
Hey Jodi and IBB!
Well about time to close for the day.. then off to MIL's for dinner....AMAZING!!!
see ya later for IDOL!!!!!
Amicus that is a great story....it is amazing how the furbabies come to the women....
i have one house I deliver to that the big ole hound dog wants to crawl in my car every time go there... his owner is like.. "he's not like that with any other drivers that come up here...."
I said .. "he knows I love dogs..."
This is just a quick fly by to catch up on the posts.
Amicus Just loved your story today.
Amicus!!! Great job and thanks for sharing!! we do love our animals don't we??!!
Jodi - I had to chuckle that IBB was going to "help you" but you were "done" - hhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm..
LOL
IBB - howdy to Mom IBB for me!!
75 is alive!!!
Oops - that was 76!!
Howdy - just lin!!
Amicus - I loved your story. Those are the kind of stories that make life worthwhile. I remember 3 years ago when I almost lost Tango. I am so paranoid about my pets getting out that I have locked gates everywhere. One day there was a misunderstanding with the 'sprinkler man'. He gave me back the keys to the gate and I foolishly assumed he had locked it since he had returned the keys. Tango went on an adventure and was gone an hour. I was beside myself with worry. The whole neighbourhood was looking for her when she ambled down the street as if she were used to adventures. I later found out she had crossed a four lane very busy street. Every car stopped for her and let her go across. I thank God every day that all those drivers were dog lovers. It would have only taken one and my Tango would be gone and my life would never be the same. I think there may have been a guardian angel involved there as well. It was then that I started to think about a second Bichon, "an heir and a spare" as the British Royalty call it. It took me a year to decide but it was the best decision I ever made. They are like twins. Of course now I am doubly neurotic about open doors and gates and I hope I never have another experience like that one again.
MEK - lol!!! There's A LOT that I can do on my own!!! Just ask TINA!!! :p
80!!!
IBB - Let me get this straight....your mil that JUST HAD SURGERY, is making you dinner?!!? What an AMAZING woman!! Please give her a hug from Wisconsin!!!
TINA - I got your postcard!!! And I loved how you spelled WESconsin!!!
Hello All Owls!
Jodi~~So, when are you and Dad headed my way? I'd LOVE to show you the PNW!
BEAR, MEK, et al~~
Here's perhaps the best initial link to what I think is THE answer for our generation's future, entitled:
AGING IN COMMUNITY~~How the Coming Baby Boom Generation Will Transform Traditional Models of Independent Living
www.terrain.org/articles/20/moran_rollins.htm
Here's a summary from a recent Newsweek~~
“Seniors are signing up for semi-communal enclaves, with separate homes but a supportive community…. The idea is to bring back a time when neighbors were an integral part of one another’s lives, sharing meals, recreation and providing a helping hand.”
In this innovative model, separate one-, two-, and three-bedroom living units surround a common house that includes kitchen, dining room, gathering space, and room for activities. Guest rooms that double as future caregiver suites can be included in the common house. Homes feature universal design options including single-story homes, wheelchair-accessible counters, and many more options geared to the needs of elders. The typical size of a cohousing community is 25 to 35 individual homes.
I'm ready to sign up! Wouldn't it be fun to move our cyber-community into actuality?!? Who could ask for better neighbors?
MEK- I fully intend to make my children as miserable as possible. Paybacks are a bitch! LOL- at least that is what I tell them I owe them from their teenage years!
My youngest (24) always tells me to be nice to him, it will dictate how good a home he puts me in. Little shit.
Getting my dialing finger ready too!
BonO - I love your idea. Let's start working on it. It's never too early. There is about a 5 year waiting list to get into Care Homes here. Some of my friends have had their parents get to the top of the list but the parents don't feel they are ready and they start at the bottom again. If they suddenly need an 'extensive care home' they are out of luck.
Goldie~~LOL...my daughter says the same thing. And when she does, I remind her that in a few years she'll have a teenage daughter. Shuts her up every time. Gotta love (or NOT) the Circle of Life.
Afternoon all!
MEK: Ohhhh..is that what they were doing on Medium..I couldn't figure out why everything worked out so perfectly for them. I want to live in THAT Phx!! LOL!
Good to hear that Bailey and KC are well!
AMICUS: Wow!! I loved reading your post..what a great thing to do. I bet Miss BT is happy you were there to help save her!
TINKA: I sent you an email about Mr. Z--he won't listen and is off to work.
IBB: Thank you for checking...I have packages to be mailed, but haven't been able to get them to the post office yet.
LOVEY: Wind is blowing something fierce here...and it is saying "Zona..stay inside..or a house might fall on you..." ;)
JODI: Congrats on 69!
HI BON'O!! I think we switched weather today..but it's only for a day. darn...
VIG: Did I read TINK's post correctly..has the HIGH Tea been rescheduled?? Lots of pictures please!
WHABBEAR: YOU are an awesome brother..worrying about not only your folks but the burden on your sister. :)
HI EBJ!!

GOLDIE!! Congrats on 100!! :)
Hi Zona- sorry I snuck in on you... I was waiting for MEK to come in and clobber me.
GOLDIE: s'ok..it's more fun when you get clobbered..though I think you just bumped me a little..;)
ZonaBaby - Say Hi to me now please or my feelings will be hurt. After all your must respect your mother above all else. That is the 4th commandment. I got your letter and I answered it in a motherly way. No our High Tea hasn't got a definite date yet but it is coming soon. Now I must get my work done. Don't forget to say Hi to me.
# 105 That's a good number.
Amicus
Yeah!!!! I love happy endings for our wonderful fur babies.
TINKA: I was going to call you as soon as Mr Z calls from work!! Please don't have hurt feelings! I'm sorry!
Hi Everyone!
Want:
congrats on First! And as always,Thank You!
Amicus:
What a nice story, I would be smiling as well :O)
Mek:
Glad your puppies are ok!
Thanks to all for the Kudos today!
Vacation's are good, however they are very hard for me to take, I made the choice of being a business owner knowing what I was venturing into.
I do take long weekends tho, mostly in the summer when I head down to the jersey shore.
I am actually comfortable with that, I was never one to take long vacation's, and yet I am a travel agent. Go figure!
Zona:
I loved your march to 100!
Goldie:
Great way to sneak right it!
:O)
Goldie:
LOL...paybacks!
Zona - I am trying to write to you and talk to you on the phone at the same time. You know I love you.
Just Lin
The time out really works. It brings my folks back to reality of how fussy they can sometimes be. Then my Dad will grin and go play on his computer and my Mom will giggle and my sanity will stay in tact. LOL
Okay, dinner time. I'm awful. We eat out a lot. We're spoiled. Yeah, that's it. :0) It's "his" fault.
I am hungry!
I want a potato chip, I have such a craving for them :O)
I try not to leave marks zona-
Carol- I'm so excited that Virgin America is going to be (keep your fingers crossed) to Chicago! Have you used them for any of your clients? I am curious what kind of response you have gotten.
Passing you the calories free cyber potato chips.....
I went to the dentist this morning, I go every six months, and the first thing I thought of as I was seating in the chair was lynnd. It really is awful experience, those tools they use hurt like hell. I got out of the chair soaking wet, I was sweating so much!
However,All went well! My teeth are fine
So glad I don't have to go back till November!
uggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh
Just the thought of going to the dentist (I a due in a couple weeks) just about puts me over the edge. Glad you get to keep your teeth Carol.
Goldie:
Virgin America does not participate in the "Global Distribution Systems" aka GDS for airline reservations.
Which means I cannot book them in my GDS they can only be booked direct on their website or by phone.
The GDS allows me to look at several airlines at one time and confirm/sell a flight, once confirmed it goes directly to that airline.
If a airline does not participate in the GDS then I normally don't book them.
I need to have control of any flight reservations I make, it would be to hard and time consuming to have to jump on airline websites to look up a reservation.
I guess I really did not answer your question, sorry I am in work mode.
I will tell you this I have heard they were good.
Are you sorry you asked....
:O)
Goldie - congrats on 100!! I was napping!! :-)

If I remember how to golf MEK- I never did get a round in last weekend. Shooting for this friday!
Jodi- there are many things in life that Mr. Goldie says he is thankful for. NOT having teenage daughters is one of them. He is already starting to sweat about Brynn being a teenager- and she is only 2!!!!!!!

GOLDIE - I talked to my classmate today. She said that the Madison Fire Department were escorting those bodies home from LaCrosse today. How incredibly sad. I'm sure it has been on the news....I'll have to look it up online.
Jodi- yes, they showed the procession as they were coming home. Police, a Madison fire truck then 3 white hearses. Very dignified and respectully deserved.
OH, Zona tonight I feel totally challenged.
I'm exhausted.
I feel like I'm on merry go round too with school and picking up after my kids.

Evening Owls.
I had a very busy and tiresome day today. I thought I would be back in the nest earlier but it did not work that way.
I stuffed 450 lbs of food in my car on the food pickup. Barely got it to fit, but by God I was going to!
I had eggs sitting next to me so I could stop them from falling when I made turns!
An Older gentleman watched me load my car with great fascination. He actually got out of his car and said congratulations. I did not think you could make it all fit but by golly you did it! LMAO
After I got it unloaded and weighed and put away at the foodbank it was late afternoon. I came home and fell asleep. Exhaustion!!
I want to let everyone know my mouth is much better and I am only taking ibuprofen now for pain! Progress! Yay!
Ok I am still worn out and need to veg.
PS did anyone see Oprah today?? I woke up just in time to watch it and was fascinated. Then I had to rush out of here and pick up Mr. Lynn D.
I may have to watch that episode again.
This is for Kgirl. My profile count on MS is at 2069!!! LOL
I watched AI on rickey.org
Can I just say, I love David C, if he does not win AI, I will truly be disappointed! In my eyes he is the best of the three...
And DWTS...I wish someone else was voted off instead of who was!
Lynn D - wouldn't it have been nice if that man that watched would have offered to help!!
:-)
Round one on Idol - COok and Cowell!!! LOL
LynnD~~Busy day, eh? Glad to hear you're doing better!
I just came in from yanking out the back yard's spent Spring perennials so the tomatoes can go in their place. Hopefully we've had our last freeze, although it was 36 this a.m. and I don't think we made 65. They still insist Thursday/Friday will break heat records for your area and mine, actually also for our owls to the south as well.
I did see Oprah. Dr. Oz's past life regression hypnosis. Coming from a mainstream Dr. and skeptic, his take on the experience was VERY interesting.
Iteach - I watched A. I. and DWTS and now I think I will switch to watching DVD's after I tidy up a bit. I can tell you are getting the end of year stress. Hang in there, just a few weeks to go and then it's fun with just your own kids. I hope they are well now.
Lynn - I hope you are feeling better tonight.
Zona - I loved talking to you today. Now I had better get some work done before I settle in for the night.
See you all tomorrow. Take care. Love, Tinka
Okay - I am off to vote!!!
Thank God for David Cook - the only two performances that I enjoyed tonight: his first song and his last..
I think the producers picked the total wrong song for poor Shyesa!
Let my dialing begin!!!
:-)
see ya all alot later!!
I am so exhausted.
Before I left school today my principal dropped another boat load of paperwork on us.
I'm also a ball of nerves with this retirement party that I'm in charge of.
Oh, well, I'm off to la la land.
Good night everyone and sweet dreams!!
good night Iteach!!!
qwell after 2 hours of dialing..(thank goodness for re-dial).. I only got through about 15 times!!!
G'Night ITEACH! Sweet dreams!
TINKA: That's enough work for today..crawl into bed and enjoy a good movie and relax! Love you!
BON'O: Your weather report is making me cry..and home grown tomatoes?? WAAAAHHH!!! ;)
LYNND: Get some rest. I'm glad you are feeling so much better. LOL at your profile count.
VIG: Wherever you may be tonight, I hope you are having a great time. Can't wait to hear of your adventures! Eyes on the road please! ;)
