So far, I'd say it's going... so so! I was supposed to be an "innovation ambassador" for NASA starting Tuesday, doing a stint up at Xerox PARC for six months. The deal fell through, because NASA and PARC couldn't come to an agreement on intellectual property rights. :(

my week? hmmmmm....it's fine....i think.....busy...all three kids are going to Homecoming this weekend...so they all need clothes and I have to buy corsages for their dates.....Aunt Vera died....but that's a blessing...friend's 12 yr old nephew died as well.....he had epilepsy.....my family is well....well....not youngest...he's home in bed with a fever.....but i really can't complain.....I'm healthy, not weathly, and sometimes a wise ass~

My week is going pretty good. I went to the doctor and found out that the swimming helped more than I thought. I lost 13 pounds and my lungs and heart sound better than they have in a while..so that was good news.
One weird thing happened though. My hubby and his siblings inherited his parent's home a couple years ago when his folks passed away. All six of them are on the deed. Yesterday WE got the property tax bill from the state of California. Huh?? Couldn't they send it to one of his brothers or sisters that actually LIVE in California? I know..how about sending it to the brother who still lives in the house? LOL..I guess that would be too easy. Oh well, we'll get it figured out.

My week has been great so far, except I'm a little weary from people asking if we have the swine flu vaccine.
I think the media gets people whipped up into panic mode. I am not saying it is not a deadly virus, but anyone who watches the news will know that the vaccine is just starting to come and they are giving it to kids first (here in this county).
MR. EBJ loves cold spaghetti too, first thing in the morning.

I agree that humor is what gets us thru the best and worst times. My week so far? I fell and have a palm size bruise on my upper thigh from hitting the nightstand. A HUGE blister on my big toe that I didn't know was there until about an hour ago...
Other than that and not winning the lottery it is going pretty good!

Carol....Are you aware that when you begin working out you most likely will NOT lose weight? You are gaining muscle which weighs more than fat so the scales may not reflect a difference but you should begin seeing some toning and firming and your clothes may start to fit differently. Don't get discouraged!

My week has been just delicious! First ....an annual event that I always look forward too....the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book came...and has been put online....they held back this year ....with the economy and all...but the Fantasy Gifts are really cool.....The cupcake cars...and there is this bug art where the artist uses this african beetle and old pocket watch parts and incorporates them into the beetles body under a glass dome....unique? Yes! And the his and hers planes that you can transport like a boat cause the wings fold up!

Carol Sometimes we're just on a roll and not in a good way. Hopefully, you will have a super weekend to make up for it. I've had a slight cold for the last couple of days. Just enough to be annoying and make me feel like I have no energy. It's just the sniffles, mostly, and today I woke up with a sore throat and my asthma is acting up a little bit. Yesterday, I went ahead and cancelled today's hair appointment and rescheduled for next week. I'm only sick enough to give me the "blahs" but it's not too bad.

I just discovered something that made me feel better. One month ago I got tickets to fly down to SoCal and spend Thanksgiving week with my mom and brother. Round trip tickets, with taxes, cost me $229. If I would have purchased tickets for the same flights today, it would have cost $419! So I feel like I saved nearly $200 by planning ahead. Yay!
Have DeeDee's links been certified as safe? I don't know... I'd half expect something to jump out at me.
CAROL: We got a message from Mr Z's sister this afternoon while we were asleep..she is in charge of paying the taxes and insurance on the house while their brother lives there. She said she has no idea why the bill came here, but we could just pay it and she would reimburse us. Actually, that only solves half the problem..the other half is WHY did it come here in the first place? We are going to take your advice and overnight it back to her. The whole situation is just goofy.

Hi...TINA: I just read the blog from yesterday and am so glad to hear about your dad. That is wonderful news. It is so nice to hear positive health things related to anyone but especially parents.
My WeeK: Well, it is going okay after my rant and rage at MR D on Tuesday AM. I got over it and am not grouchy anymore. I leveled up a number on FT, it's snowing here, I spent yesterday having lunch with my two GD's and one Grandson and then the rest of the day and evening with the girls. I am going to see Wicked tonight with two girlfriends..so all in all...a good week.
ZONA: Congratulations on the weight loss. All that swimming and then the "exercise" that you add to the swimming. It's not that cold is it? Put on a wet suit.
BEAR: Sorry you didn't get to do that new position. I am sure they will be on the watch for something else down the road for you .....how could they not, as smart and dedicated as you are to the position?

We are in baseball playoffs and they are saying the next game here (maybe Sat=don't know) the temp will be 22 degrees. They have the field covered because of the snow. Sounds more like football weather.

Oh my, so glad you are not writing the check, and glad you are sending them the tax bill.. Do you think they changed the address where the tax bill should go to? On all my dads
properties the tax bill always came to my house even tho the properties where in different cities.. Maybe you should check that out.. There should also be a website for your state that will show the house and what taxes are paid on it and where the bill goes to. These records are made public so anyone can view them. I always check our taxes on our NJ website.

Here I am posting late again!
Yesterday I was packing a "hoodie" to send to a friend when I noticed a snag on it, took it back and started to pack it tonight when I almost had a stroke! Two droplets of BBQ sauce from my apron (pork chops) somehow landed on the hoodie! oy vey!
We went to our tax lawyer today to try to get the $4,000 the IRS mistakenly took from us. We have been fighting it all year. They agree, but we have to jump through hoops to get it back!
When I get stirred up I look for something to do to distract me... I cleaned out my bedroom drawers & cooked a big meal.
Whabby~ You have a great attitude. Piss on them! Their loss :)
