Sometimes, blank!

I hate looking at this blank screen, it drives me nuts, especially when my mind is blank. Every word I am trying to think of has no meaning. So as I always say, no reason to force, the words will come, perhaps not today, but most def another day. And lately when I think of words, I feel as if I am repeating myself. I look at my old blogs and see so much of me, how I felt, my doings, my family. Most things are the same, so if I want to know about me, all I have to do is read my words from some time ago. I have made a promise to continue this blog, and that is what I shall do, with each day a new blog will appear, it might not be the most gifted of blogs, but a blog nonetheless.

That's it, that's all I got..

Its Saturday, go and enjoy as I will.

Take that Tina!!!

Carol sometimes we are blank or sometimes things are in a turmoil and won't let the words flow or sometimes we just don't have the energy. Such is life.

Being blank is a common thing and we will go with the flow. It will bring interesting comments because this group sees things from so many perspectives that it will always be interesting!

See I just wrote two paragraphs on it and they probably don't even make sense but I feel better. :)

Sometimes being blank is a blessing Carol. Maybe not in blogland, but for sure in real life :)

Mo- feel better!!!

we are heading up to the camper to close up for the season. Bummer- lots of work, Mr. Goldie and I will try not to kill each other at least once during the process. Winter is officially almost here...drats!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Congrats on 1st Lynn

Carol, you and Lynn hit the nail on the head here...I've been blank for some time now. I think it's a combination of thing's....the weather (cold, rainy, no sun), no energy, frustration, turmoil, people pissing me off...the list goes on!!

Yesterday was a little better. I picked my grandaughter up from school, took a little drive and just talked. I think she and I may get together later today and just hang out. She alway's put's a smile on my face! I guess I'm in need of that face to face time.

I hope this mood goes away soon, otherwise it's going to be a very very long ass winter!!

I was rather mean yesterday trying to get through the Notre Dame traffic. I sat through a damn light three time's. People still turning through a red light, trying to cut into lane's, when they knew very well they shouldn't have been in the turn right only lane....so when the last big ass
SUV tried to slip ahead of me, I just said....Oh! Hell NO!! and pulled my car up to keep his ass out!
I should of had a bumper sticker on my car that said..."Not In The Mood Today...Back OFF!!!"
Come to think of it...I should probably put one on my front door, too.....for Solicitor's!

Here's hoping Everyone (even me) has a good day!! ;o) .....

MO!!!!!! Sorry you're sick...hope you feel better soon.

Good Morning - I haven't got #10 for ages. That is a good sign for me. I think today is going to be a better day. I feel blank right now too Carol. I will be back after I feed my 'fur babies' and myself.

The rain is coming down so hard I think I might have Jack start building an ark like Noah did. He was one smart man. I believe in being prepared. Be back in ten minutes.

Good Morning Carol - I think you need to take a "just for me" day. You do too much for others.

Good Morning Goldie - When I hear of someone "closing up for the season" I always think of Katherine Hepburn In "On Golden Pond" looking out at the loons on the lake. Do you feel like that when you are closing up.

Good Mornin Birdee - I loved your road rage story. I can't picture our sweet little Birdee doing that but it makes a funny story.

Good Morning Maureen - I am so sorry you got sick on your birthday. I hope you are feeling better soon.

My babies are fed. I have my Tropicana juice, (there is nothing like it) and I am watching the rain overflowing the eaves. Jack left at six to go to Vancouver to deliver fish. Maybe I will start decorating my house for Halloween. I can do it I know if I just do ten minutes at a time.

I got my first #25 in a long time.

I want to thank Whabbear and the others who encouraged me to write even when I feel 'down'. I will say one more thing about my health problem and then I won't mention it again until I have good news. After undergoing all the tests, ultrasounds and x-rays the doctor could think of he sent me to the Urgent Diagnostic Clinic. That doctor's opinion is that when I walked the eight flights of stairs, up and down, on the cruise fire drill I did something to my spine. I haven't been able to walk easily since and that was May 27th. He sent me for more tests and has now referred me to a neurologist. That was a week ago and I haven't an appointment yet. End of story.

Hope you all have a good day.

Zona - I was happy to hear you had good news yesterday.

Bye for now. Love, Tinka

Happy Saturday Owls.

Carol, There are so many days when I am blank. I figure at my age, it's OK and I don't even TRY to change it. So just go with it.

Mo, I'm sorry I missed your birthday yesterday and even sorrier (is that a word?) that you got sick. I hope today is a better day for you. MUWAH ♥♥♥

sacBarb said...

Lynn, taking advantage that Tina is in an earlier time zone. Congrats. Hope you see more yellow very soon.

This year has had many ups and downs for me, but the most significant is that my son had to have surgery (down) but that his recovery finally went very well (up). At the end of the day it only matters that the final outcome of any situation is good. I figure there is a reason for everything and I just have to trust that I am where I am supposed to be, whatever the reason.

sacBarb said...

Mary, How exciting that you are getting a new kitchen. I know how much work all the planning is, but it will all be worth it in the end. I love my Silestone counter top and my new light colored cabinets.

Tinka, It's too bad there wasn't an alternative to you walking 8 flights of stairs for that cruise fire drill. Even with my new knees, I don't think I would have been able to do that. I hope the docs can find some way to give you relief soon. And don't feel badly about telling us. We want to be here to support you.

Waving to all the other Owls. I hope everyone's weekend is going well.

LynnD Congrats on first! The older I get, the less energy I have. No wonder I'm blank.

Carol I will try hard to come up with a blog or two. My life is just so boring lately. One week leads into the next and there is nothing noteworthy about it. Perhaps I can write about the art of cleaning a toilet. Since there is only me here, even that is simple and would take few words. Ha!

Birdee Your comment made me laugh! I hate pushy drivers that always try to push their way in front of you instead of waiting their turn. It is rather satisfying to deny them, isn't it?

MO So sorry you are still sick. I hope you feel better as the day goes on.

Goldie I hope your day goes well and that you and Mr. Goldie are still speaking at the end of it. ;)

Tinka You know we love you and always want to hear from you. It is perfectly fine for you to share your troubles with us. That's what friends are for. :)

SacBarb How's your weather today? It's overcast and gloomy here right now.

Tinkatia said...

SacBarb - You are so right. There should be an alternative to walking the stairs for those with difficulties. I was hesitant to do it because of the arthritis in my knees but I knew if you don't do the fire drill you get a nasty letter. (They take roll call when you are at your station.) I am going to write Holland America and tell them what happened to me. Maybe it will scare them into changing their ways. When they get my letter they will probably be thinking "we may be sued". A friend of mine was on the Alaska cruise on one of the Princess boats and they went to the auditorium and watched on a large movie screen what to do in an emergency. That will be my suggestion to Holland America.

Time for lunch.

Zona - Thanks for the lovely call. It was fun as always.

Hi Just_Lin - You posted while I was typing. Thanks for the kind words.
I agree with you, it's hard to blog when one day is the same as the last. The holidays are coming however. That will be fun.

LOL@ your bumper sticker idea..I bet it would be a big seller!

TINKA!: I'm so happy to see your little brown owl back here in the nest. I'm sorry your legs have been hurting you so much..I hope that the neurologist will be able to relieve the pain..until then..just lean on us..our strong wings will help hold you. :)

SACBARB: So well said..as long as things are fixable..it's a good day.

J/LIN: I want your gloomy overcastness..it's going to be 101 today..where the heck if Fall?

Hi Everyone!!

I ended up having a really good day...'bout time!
I picked up my g-daughter and we went to Hacienda for a late lunch. Then she decided she wanted to paint my nail's, which I haven't done for the longest time. Then she wanted to collect all the change that she and I had just sitting around the house in jar's and turn it into dollar's. So we dumped it all in a bag and took it to the store to put through the machine. We ended up with $227.00The machine took $20 for it's service and she and I split the rest! Obviously, she was very happy! ;o)

Tink, J/L, Zona, glad you had a laugh with my grouchy driving story! This afternoon I was much nicer. Maybe because everyone was at the game and not on the road or because my g-daughter was making me laugh. IDK!? ;o)

Tina, Happy Birthday to your Dad!

Mary, congrat's on getting a new kitchen!

Tink, how are the holloween decoration's coming? What will your little grandaughter be this year?

Mo, you hanging in there?

I think I'm going to get in my pj's and relax now. I hope you all are having a good evening.

Carol, Glad you're hanging with your cousin's. I'm sure you are having some good laugh's!! ;o)

xoxoxo to all!!!

Hiding

Yup, I've been hiding from you guys.

I've been hiding from a lot of people.

I've been putting on a happy face so that people don't see what is going on.

Part of it is because I'm being professional. The other part is because I feel like a failure.

It is easy to hide on Facebook, but not here.

I can't pretend , I think all of you know me too well.

I have/had a student this year that totally sucked everything out of me. He had an aide. Between the two of us it was a full time job taking care of him.

The other 24 students were left out........... :(

He had moments of appearing to be like a normal 7 year old boy which would always give us hope.

Hope that he his fits would diminish.

He is five foot at 130 pounds which is on the large side for a seven year old. During his fits his strenth was overwhelming.

His fits were/are unpredictable.

He would hit, punch, throw chairs, and scream at us.

My kids knew to run to the library across the hall and wait for me during his fits.

He has the label of "autism", so he has a lot of legal rights to protect him.

I have worked with a lot of autistic children in my time and I have never just seen one so violent.

It is just my own opion, but I think he got the wrong label.

Monday he finally did something to speed the process of leaving my room.

He tried to end his life in front of myself and my students.

He took every sharp object he could find and punctured his head over and over.

It was very traumatizing.

Just_Lin said...

Jennifer Oh, my! How horrible for you and the other children. It is not right that you should have to take on a child with such problems. It sounds to me like he needs to be hospitalized. How could any other child possibly learn anything in a classroom that includes such violent disruptions? It must be totally exhausting to have such a child in your care even if he does have an aide.

iteach said...

Ooops, I didn't mean to say Monday, it was Tuesday went it all happened.

Having Columbus Day off this week and totally thrown me off.

iteach said...

J/L since Wed., I feel like I'm getting to know my class again for the first time.

It is a totally different room.

Just_Lin said...

Jennifer Is he gone for good, then?

iteach said...

He is out of my room for six weeks for sure. During that time the state is paying for him to be tutored at home everyday.

After six weeks our district and the state will discuss the next step for him. The only possible way he may come back is if he gets a note from a psychiatrist saying that he is not a harm to himself or the students.

Just_Lin said...

It's a little hard to say he's not a danger to himself after that little stunt!

DeeDee said...

Hi everyone!!

Jennifer!! OMG!

I think that a lot of kids get called "autistic" when thats not the problem....

I have a 7 year old little friend whose parents weren't qualified to raise a child. He was left alone as an infant.....basically he was more trouble than a puppy to them.....

I started spending time with him and it took quite a bit of repetition to convince him that I was the boss.....but I did convince him. We spent many fun evenings in the kids section of Hastings looking at books. He learned to do this neatly and respectfully toward the books.....all he needed was some attention.....and to be shown.....
Then his parents put distance between the child and I because they didn't like my opinions on rearing children.....and he started school.

Same thing you are talking about...without the stabbing.....he was labeled autistic. He is not autistic.....he is a perfectly bright normal 7 year old now....but his parents draw a disability check on him so he will remain autistic....they like the money.

Finally this year his Mother has taken an interest and is home schooling him.....I had my doubts....but she does a good job.....I think his Father also finally realized that they both have a responsibility to this child.......he has become a joyous happy child....he takes pride in learning and is just down right sweet.....(always was as far as I am concerned).....

I don't know how long they'll keep taking the money (creeps) but at least they have taken an interest in their son and I think they realize now that all those pills and the label of autism was an excuse for not parenting......

The child you described does not belong in your classroom.....I don't care how many aides he has...

You haven't failed anything....but it sounds like someone has.....

Tinkatia said...

That was a test. My password is still giving me problems.

Tinkatia said...

Jennifer - My heart goes out to you. I know how stressful it can be to have a child with behaviour problems in the classroom. When it is as serious as this case you must be exhausted. The worst I witnessed was when a disturbed seven year old girl went into a wild tantrum and tried to go after my team teacher (who was very pregnant at the time) with a pair of sharp scissors. We were all terrified. The police came and we never saw her again. I don't know what school they put her in but we were so happy she didn't do any permanent damage. Teaching isn't as easy as it used to be, that's for sure.

That must be so hard to handle, you have to do the right thing because of the laws according to school teaching, so it is totally understandable why this child was still in your classroom. I am sure you tried all you could do, it seems to me that this child should be in special classes, perhaps now because of this latest outburst that will happen..

Hang in there, I give you so much credit for what you do, I admire you so..
